Pay Up, Shut Up, And I Feed Off Of Your Tax Money. The Connecticut Democrat Gold Standard Of Governance And Accountability

This past week, the world stage was treated to the inane and frenetic babblings of Chris Murphy as he railed on about all things evil concerning President Donald J. Trump. For the world, Chris is the junior Democrat U.S. Senator from Connecticut. However, for the right-thinking and taxpaying people of Connecticut Chris is a manic jerk, being a child of privilege who never had to hold gainful and profit-making employment in his entire life. This is because his father’s law firm (Shipman and Goodwin) has a hand representing about every anti-homeowner, anti-parent and anti-taxpayer body in the state. Its nice work if you can get it, however Chris failed at this work and found his way into the lowest common denominator of employment, which is the political system.

Murphy has the policy and conceptual understanding of a flea. As he rails about “Trump favoring Billionaires and screwing the little guy” he does not tell you that he voted AGAINST a 20% tax deduction for small business people in 2017. He will also call Elon Musk an “illegal agent against government” not acknowledging that government hires contractors all of the time. Murphy’s conceptual tax and policy knowledge is summed up perfectly by the analysis of my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo, who often says “that Murphy knows as much about tax and fiscal policy, as I might, about building the Neutron Bomb.”

But you must give credit where credit is due. The Connecticut Demo-commie universe (unlike the State GOP) has a bench. It cultivates acolytes. It develops other similar personalities to Murphy that are high on glibness and empty headedness, bereft on governance, and short on substance. It then buys media to hammer to an unsuspecting public how wonderful these people are, and what great public servants they can be.

And the leading horse in this race for bigger and better things is the current Connecticut State Comptroller, Sean Scanlon.

By way of information, Sean Scanlon is a career politician whose salary is paid for by Connecticut Taxpayers. Like others in the horse race, he will seek higher office in the future in a jump ball with the other career Democrat politicians. He will be mentioned as a future Governor, U.S. Representative and or US Senator. He is currently the State Comptroller, however whenever we read about his fiscal acumen it is either a disaster such as the handling of his own office, (https://ctnewsjunkie.com/2025/01/08/auditors-comptrollers-office-lacked-internal-controls-for-insurance-payouts/) or an impending disaster such as the “refinancing” of the state short-term debt which, (while cheered by equally ignorant Republicans) displayed the fiscal sense of delaying debt that anyone making the minimum payment on a credit card knows is a horrific disaster to come.  By way of education and training, Scanlon shows no bona-fides in economics/accounting and finance with a degree in Political Science from Boston University, and his work for Chris Murphy in a variety of positions while being a Connecticut State Representative for eight years and miraculously becoming the Executive Director of Tweed-New Haven Airport for a short and very unpopular stint.  How all of this becomes functional for a Comptroller position that pays $206,062 plus benefits is beyond me and many others considering Scanlon is managing a $26 Billion dollar state budget. His job mission is "To provide accounting and financial services, to administer employee and retiree benefits, to develop accounting policy and exercise accounting oversight, and to prepare financial reports for state, federal and municipal governments and the public." (https://osc.ct.gov/about/). Thus, anyone in Connecticut, no matter their education or work experience can be a State Comptroller with Scanlon as an example, provided, they join the Democrat food chain and be manufactured according to the Chris Murphy Gold Standard of Failure.

Recently Scanlon in true Democrat Party form, condemned President Trump in his overhaul of the Federal government especially when it comes to aid. He stated on January 28, 2025; “President Trump’s reckless decision to abruptly freeze federal grants and loans will have immediate and disastrous consequences for Connecticut. As Comptroller, it’s my job to track what we get from Washington D.C. and how we spend it. In fiscal year 2024, more than $14.3 billion passed from the federal government through our state agencies directly to Connecticut residents, nonprofits, schools, and much, much more. While the exact list of impacted programs remains unclear, what is clear is this: any pause, however brief, of any federal funding will hurt people in Connecticut.” (https://osc.ct.gov/articles/comptroller-sean-scanlon-condemns-trump-administrations-reckless-suspension-of-federal-funding/). If I understand his quote correctly, this statement means that $14.3 billion dollars is either is a part of the state budget and/or is in addition to beggarly Connecticut's $22.1 billion dollar budget for 2024. Presuming Scanlon is fiscally coherent, I believe he should clarify his economically illogical and confusing remarks. Does he even have an idea as to where the money goes? He has apparently become an expert in accounting and finance. But a person with little to no experience in finance is bound to be confused in his stated remarks.

But one thing that the Democrat machine is quite good at is building personal financial dynasties at taxpayer expense. Scanlon is married to Meghan Scanlon, who has degrees in English and Political Science from the University of Connecticut and is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the “Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence” which has 18 (Eighteen-count 'em) member domestic violence organizations that provide services to victims. “Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence” is a "non-profit". The coalition serves around 40,000 individuals across the state. It receives federal and state aid along with donations. From the last public audit of 2023, Meghan Scanlon’s compensation was $126,676 plus other compensation. (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/60985675). Further, there is a massive amount of money spent in Connecticut on domestic violence victims and issues. For 2024 according to opencheckbook.ct.gov,  the sum was $27.63 Million dollars in a wide array of grants. It seems alarming to me that this much money is being spent with apparently poor results since it seems that this type of violence is growing in the state.  Is there an issue in the state with actually enforcing the domestic violence laws currently on statute?  Are domestic violence criminals not being prosecuted? Obviously, I am not trying to make light of domestic violence however after throwing millions upon millions of dollars at it what is the net result? More domestic violence? Anyone with the least bit of reason knows that the continued high spending towards a situation that does not improve is a reinforcement of failure. Apparently, reason is a concept foreign to the Democrat-driven political system of Connecticut.

But the ostensible debacle above lends itself to questions of other failures taking place at Connecticut nonprofits. Cause IQ tells us the following: "There are 24,541 organizations in Connecticut. Combined, these Connecticut nonprofits employ 358,650 people, earn more than $57 billion in revenue each year, and have assets of $195 billion." (https://www.causeiq.com/directory/connecticut-state) In scanning the records,  I have always wondered why state-connected "non profit"Administrative salaries so high?   Why are salaries so high especially with many "non profits" having non-paid boards who help in these organizations? Why are the state-connected non-profit salaries so high when they hire highly paid accounting and legal firms with a strong connection to state government? When someone is appointed by a "non-profit" there seems to always be a glowing press release of the person and their qualifications that usually lead to the connection of a politician. But again, why are the salaries so high? And are the actual results of these "non profits" truly helping the people who need the help? Washington and Hartford spend billions of dollars in social welfare programs with ostensibly little to no result as many of those to whom fiduciary or oversight responsibility is granted are making out quite well. Why is this the case?

Is There Anyone Out There Capable Of The Job Of Being The Governor Of Connecticut?

What does Connecticut need in a Governor? It should be a simple question, but you will have difficulty in answering it.   What would it take for a Republican to be Governor? Is there a person on the horizon that possesses the character, intelligence, vision, and perspective necessary to turn around the total downward spiral of the Nutmeg State?

Believe it or not, Connecticut at one time had a functioning two party system.  In addition, Republicans did hold the Governor's office many times in the state's history. It is even more unbelievable to recall that Connecticut used to be a Conservative working-class state with a great deal of business and industry. Do you want to travel even more over to the dark side? Connecticut used to have a huge and thriving Black middle class with many of these folks working and owning homes due to secure employment in the firearms industry, an industry that was legislated out of existence by “sensitive” Democrat politicians that by “doing social good” threw families into drugs, poverty, fatherlessness, and ruin.  And there were better higher-character people than today on both sides of the aisle. Democrat Ella Grasso, Connecticut first Female Governor, who served from 1975 to 1980, was a working person, common sense Governor for the state and was loved by many on both sides of the aisle for her no-nonsense approach to governing. And there were bad people on both sides as well. Governor Grasso inherited a $70 million dollar plus budget deficit from Republican Governor Thomas Meskill. When taking office, she immediately laid off over 500 state employees, gave back her pay raise of $7,000 and sold the state's limousine and plane to pay down the debt. (https://museumofcthistory.org/2015/08/ella-giovanna-oliva-tambussi-grasso/) Fast forward 50 years later, and we see that Connecticut's short- and long-term debt along with its unfunded liabilities is roughly $100 to $150 billion dollars as politicians on either side of the aisle avoid dealing with this grievous situation like the plague.

After Governor Grasso passed, Connecticut shifted to Governor William "Bill" O'Neil who presided over the boom years of the 80's and subsequently led the state into the recession of 1990 when Connecticut's economy started its 35-year march to economic stupefaction and oblivion. Rather than deal with the matter at hand, the Democrat Party started believing that taxes, spending, running deficits, and the fire hosing of money would cure all ills. Lowell Weicker, a liberal Republican who turned Independent lied his way to get elected. Weicker accelerated Connecticut's economic downturn with his ill-gotten cash grab of Connecticut's first Income Tax, thus starting Connecticut down a path of welfare-state status.

After Weicker, Republican John Rowland became the next Governor in a term with some hope and vision that was later marred by arrogance, bulbous spending, inattention to deficits, and petty scandals. He was succeeded by Connecticut's second Female Governor Jodi Rell in an unremarkable term ending in 2011 that was somewhat liberal in social areas and somewhat conservative in economic matters.

Since that time, the landscape has strayed from all manners of  reasonable conduct, governance and fiduciary responsibility. Since Rell, Connecticut has had two very irrationally liberal and free spending Democrat Governors in Dan Malloy and Ned Lamont. I have written about them at length over the years and I am confident my readers understand and feel the brunt of their economic consequences and actions. However rather than creating a bright line and hammering home critical and sound Republican principles, the Republicans decided to run two sporting and wealthy individuals during the past four elections in Thomas Foley and Bob Stefanowski. In both of their first runs for Governor, third-party candidates seeing a lack of principles in the Republican campaigns moved to run, thus losing elections that otherwise would have been won on better Republican principles and policy. And the second campaigns for each gentleman were far worse than the first. In my opinion, the second Stefanowski campaign was a testimony in the state GOP trying for a muddled and moderate approach to all, thus losing voters on all sides. Hopefully after 16 years the Republican Party now realizes that it needs to get away from the wealthy person as-candidate approach to Governor.

So what does the upcoming election look like for the Connecticut Republican Party in their quest to become a bright-line alternative to the incoherent gibberish and societal decay that is force fed to the public on a daily basis by the Omnipotent (and Incompetent) One Party Rule of the Connecticut Democrat Party?  Looking down the bench of potential GOP candidates to date  I am reminded of Inspector Reynaud in the 1943 film “Casablanca” calling for the “usual suspects” as at the same time I am reminded of the late industrialist and Presidential candidate Ross Perot bellowing that “those who claim to be a part of the solution after being comfortable in the problem are still a part of the problem”. Curiously, no aspirant to date has aggressively championed the good and decent Republican policies of Connecticut residents first, there are only two sexes; male and female, schools need to teach again not be tools of failed and sick ideologies, reforming the white-collar crime of state energy utilities and policy, removal of sanctuary state status and prosecuting deportations, diluting the stranglehold of public unions, non-profit money laundering and fraud, accountability for rogue elected officials and pilfering department heads (followed if necessary by criminal charges) , removing tampon dispensers in boys rooms, dealing with voter fraud, crime, theft, social unrest and gender madness, and dealing with the need for a real balanced budget along with a comprehensive and extensive plan to pay off Connecticut's short and long-term debt along with its unfunded liabilities.

More egregiously no aspirant to date has breathed a word about rooting out the “Fourth Branch” of Connecticut government, being racketeering and corruption emanating all of the way from the throne room of King Governor Ned Lamont The Unaccountable to just about every branch of elected and administrative government

This is just a start.
So, who will this next Republican candidate be? That much is uncertain. But what is dead-on certain is that the non-state connected decent taxpaying voter of Connecticut is now well-aware of all of the Elephants in the state living room and will no longer tolerate weak, want to be liked pitty-pat candidates that will once again lead to failure as their well-paid consultants dealing in the profits of failure get paid regardless. The person who runs as the Republican candidate for Governor whether they are male or female, rich or poor, politician or non-politician needs to articulate that Connecticut can do much better than the current affliction and dysfunctional garbage called state government.

And as my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo often says, it is simple as that, and unfortunately, just as difficult.

The Energy Of Incompetence, Confusion, And Failure

I am totally confused by energy policies. However, this confusion does not exist on a national level. President Donald Trump made a campaign promise to unleash the fossil fuel “Liquid Gold” present under the feet of every American with his program of “Frack, Burn, and Drill Baby, Drill.” The late Dr. Henry Kissinger told us all half a century ago that those that control energy control the world. Cheap and plentiful energy is critically necessary for a strong America and for developments in business and artificial intelligence and in industry. A more plentiful energy supply suppresses wars because countries like Russia fuel destruction by selling oil at absurdly soaring prices. Any object in our home, office, workspace, or driveway is somehow composed of fuel or by using fuel. It is a no-brainer. It is simple beans. But these dirt simple concepts are far too weighty for the astute souls in the Connecticut legislature who primarily through idiocy (and sometimes aided and abetted by weak and deferential pushback) continually figure out ways for Connecticut Residents to starve, freeze and go broke in trying to concoct fictional energy policies that will do nothing other than throw precious taxpayer capital into the sea, ground and air.

In my estimation, the biggest problem in Connecticut is the State Legislature attempts to think and craft policy where solutions are pre-made, time tested, and easily executed. Nowhere is this sad fact more critical in the Connecticut Legislature’s attempts to deal with energy. Like parrots, legislators repeat the terms “Climate Change” and “Green Energy” not knowing (or even understanding) the consequences of their inane statements and postings. Wind Turbines kill sea mammals. Disposed electric car batteries are huge environmental disasters. The mining of e-car minerals kills and maims children of color in Africa. The wildfires in California were made much worse by combusting e-cars where the fires could not be extinguished. Did you know that? You never heard any of that from the state-run media. But you heard plenty of that from me and from my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo on The Lee Elci Show on WJJF 94.9 and on THIRTY WITH TONY for over a year. But why didn’t the state-run media tell you? Because it is their job to window-dress for the powers that be as knowing the truth on a global scale would render said powers inoperative, once, and for all.

However, what actually represents “green energy” and why have we spent the massive amount of taxpayers’ monies in Connecticut to achieve either absolutely nothing (or negative) in Connecticut is horrifically unclear. Disgustingly, Connecticut residents and businesses pay some of the highest electric rates in the country. In Connecticut, the Omnipotent (and grossly incompetent) Connecticut Democrat Party, has continually raised electric rates through insane green energy policies, green energy taxes and the rationing of electricity shamefacedly feel that they need to give everyone “a break” since consumers are starting to understand their insane electric bills. Democrats are now pushing the Utopian "Ratepayers First Act,” a desperation effort to undue the massive damage their party created over the past twenty years with their economically incoherent forced increases in electric rates and green energy at all costs. Apparent/Anointed electric rate expert, Democrat State Senator Norm Needleman, from Essex, made this ridiculous statement: "Certainly the aspects of accountability and making sure that the performance that the utilities provide in exchange for an exclusive monopoly to provide us not only distribution but transmission of electricity — that is something that is very complicated. But other than adding condescending and inane commentary, he further added these nonsensical statements: “This bill is an open book. There are no specific things that we’re going to talk about at this moment. We’re going to listen to all the bills that are coming in, and they’re coming in at a rate much higher and faster than the energy committee has ever seen. We’re going to listen to ideas from across the spectrum, —that’s Republicans and Democrats, that’s cities and rural areas, that’s everybody that we can hear from.”  (https://www.senatedems.ct.gov/senate-democrats-prioritize-ratepayers-in-new-energy-legislation). Since when have these astute and esteemed souls ever listened to either the people who actually pay for the electricity and/or the Republican Party and/or the fine Conservative minds of all ages present in the state? Needleman, in my opinion reinforces Democrat incompetence and obfuscation with the typical late night dump of this Democrat bill with his statement of "This bill is an open book,” meaning that there will be a great deal of pork and political payments and cutting and amending for the sake of all of “them” and not “you” (In case you missed this, the categories of “them” and “you” are the two real races in the racial divide that is present in Connecticut).

But wait! There is more! Connecticut Senate Bill SB1105 is another gibberish-type feel-good bill that will  "(1) prohibit certain mergers of utility companies, (2) prohibit a utility company from owning both gas and electric utilities, (3) incentivize the adoption of grid-enhancing and energy-efficient technologies and prohibit a public utility company from imposing any fees that would disincentivize the adoption of such technologies, (4) repeal any provision providing a right of first refusal to acquire property by a utility company, and (5) prohibit deceptive fees to utility end use customers." (https://legiscan.com/CT/bill/SB01105/2025). Is this a bill apparently to somehow undue the economic damages of the feel-good Public Benefits aspect of your bill which is the cost of supporting state-authorized energy programs that do little for either increasing the supply of energy or lowering costs. And pray tell, why do we never see a bill prohibiting and penalizing Legislators and those connected with the Legislators from receiving compensation from the utilities their body regulates? That would be way too simple to just enact and enforce a common-sense law that has been flouted for years by both parties? As we all know, Connecticut has one of the most complex electric bills to read and understand in the country mirroring the disjointed, incompetent, hard-to-follow and unclear Connecticut Democrat Party Green Energy policies that have failed the state dramatically.

I also wonder where all the electricity in Connecticut will come from with the new cash tax cash cow of data/AI centers that are being coveted by the political elite? Will the state tell households to reduce their energy consumption so that these centers can be built and have enough power for them? How about rotating blackouts for single family homes? Or maybe more destruction and sea mammal murders at Connecticut's shorelines and seas as has been exhibited in the horrific, $300 million dollar and growing New London State Pier project that will provide apparently "free" electricity by the hideous wind farms that still have not produced one kilowatt of "Green" energy after $300 dollars of Connecticut taxpayers spent?  But who cares if we rape the environment? What are the actual safeguards to the ocean ecosystem? Perhaps these questions are obviated as no one in his or her right mind would make an investment in a Connecticut Data Center, anyway. But no matter, "Green" energy is essential, no matter what the cost and or destruction to the environment that is supposedly "saving". And almost one year after Tony De Angelo cried on the Lee Elci show for a “Natural Gas First” energy policy for Connecticut the CT State Senate has finally agreed to campaign for its use rather than to timidly “studying” such use as a year of destruction and waste intervened? What more incoherent gibberish, politicking and incompetence will be force fed to the Connecticut Taxpayer in 2025?

It will be interesting to see how the 2025 Connecticut Legislative session progresses and how little change electric consumers will see.  It should be obvious to all that the Connecticut Democrat Party has created the electricity crisis in the state and now it is entirely incapable of solving the failure it has created.

But so what? It is just another day in the race to the economic bottom for Connecticut and its economic slaves who support this disarray, turmoil, and incompetence.

Bills, Laws And Destruction: The Connecticut Legislative Session of 2025

It has been said by many citizens and legal professionals that the General Statutes of Connecticut are among the most difficult state statutes to understand, adding needless confusion to many everyday issues. Connecticut has a long legal history, with statutes dating back to 1650, which means there is a significant amount of legal tradition and layering that make current laws complex and difficult. For instance, the General Statutes of Connecticut have been through numerous revisions, the most recent major one in 1958, with regular updates since then. This accumulation over time adds to the intricacy of the legal code. I do know that the State Statues consist of thirteen volumes and 978 chapters with thousands upon thousands of statues, rules, and regulations.  And. as is often said in Connecticut, the state laws are written for the state, by the state, on behalf of the state. And how many laws exist is anyone’s guess. (https://www.cga.ct.gov/current/pub/titles.htm).

To give you an idea, the Connecticut legislature has introduced over 34,442 bills from 2010 to 2025. Of that amount only a few passed every year since there is no conceivable way that all 34,442 bills were read completely.  (https://legiscan.com/CT/). It is also interesting to comprehend the amount of actual laws that have eroded personal and economic freedoms in the state while the state continues its protracted economic and social downward spiral starting since the enactment of the law creating the State Income Tax back in August 1991. This tax was supposed to resolve all the state's financial issues and would lead Connecticut to economic vibrancy that was Utopian in nature and did nothing more than to drive it into reckless spending and fiscal ruin.

But the farcical and shameful status of Connecticut on the world’s stage continues. Despite the almost parrot-like repetition that maintaining the “fiscal guardrails” will save the fiscal integrity of the state, not one elected official acknowledges that Connecticut still has $100-$150 billion dollars in short- and long-term debt along with myriad unfunded liabilities accruing interest daily. And it ranks in the bottom five states in the country with the highest taxes, poor business climate conditions, and the highest electricity rates in the country. Moreover to add some icing to a sickening cake, Connecticut made National News this week with Democrat United States Senator Richard (“Stolen Valor”) Blumenthal questioning Secretary of Defense Nominee (and Combat Veteran) Pete Hegseth on his nomination thus invoking the ire of national news personalities, most notably radio host Mike Gallagher, who called Connecticut voters “stupid” in front of millions of listeners for voting for such a sham as Dick Blumenthal.

But if you are a Connecticut legislator, the more irrational, unhinged, and delusional you are, the more attention you will receive for some of the worst law proposals ever to be penned to paper. Rest assured that in 2025 the Legislature is in full force introducing many such bills. Here are a few your legislators feel are essential to the state:

(Senate Bill) SB00718 is "To prohibit the issuance of a drive-only motor vehicle operator's license to a person who cannot provide proof of legal United States residency or a Social Security number."  This bill implies drivers’ licenses for illegal immigrants in the state.

SB00523 "AN ACT CONCERNING THE CURATION AND RETENTION OF LITERARY MATERIALS CONTAINED IN PUBLIC AND SCHOOL LIBRARIES AND LEGAL PROTECTIONS AFFORDED TO LIBRARIANS AND STAFF WORKING IN SUCH LIBRARIES. To protect state residents by prohibiting public and school libraries from censoring the most sick and pornographic books and providing librarians and other library staff members with legal protections, including immunity from criminal and civil liability, for carrying out work-related duties in accordance with state law."  Thus, any type of questionable book including what amounts to being pornography for children is allowable in a school library and that librarians have legal immunity from any consequences of their actions in keeping those books in their library. Further as my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo pointed out this week on 94.9’s “Lee Elci Show” (https://www.949newsnow.com/) this bill allows a legally immune library worker to sue a rightfully complaining parent on the grounds of “causing emotional distress”, thus putting their livelihood and property at legal risk. This bill should sicken every parent in the state let alone the long-silent CT GOP who should be demanding that sponsor Democrat Senator Bob Duff read the texts of several of these so-called works into the official record in addition to being a national star on "Libs Of Tik Tok" as he parades around with this Bill. But more seriously, it is interesting to note that police in the state are not afforded the same immunity in their life-or-death actions since HB6004 from 2020 was passed. This bill limits qualified immunity for police officers in the state. This bill gave Connecticut the sobriquet "Crime Free Democrat Connecticut". since there is now rampant crime, rampant theft, and little prosecution of juvenile crime and or career criminals contrary to what the Connecticut Democrat Party wants you to believe.   Police, in the opinion of many in the state, are not able to do the job for which they were hired.

But right or wrong or decent of indecent, Democrat lunatics can pass whatever laws they wish since the Connecticut Democrat Party has a super majority in the State House and Senate. They will be able to push through bills with ease at any time day or night. And there is never an accounting for what laws would really matter to the taxpaying public. As one example, King Governor Ned Lamont The Unaccountable somehow is positioning himself to lower electric rates with an imbalanced magical formula that will never be able to appease the green energy cartel that runs the state's energy policy even if it were the least bit workable. The minority Republicans have offered SB647 "An Act Concerning Protections For Consumer Access To Affordable Electricity." This bill attempts to: "To reduce energy costs and increase energy supply."(https://legiscan.com/CT/bill/SB00647/2025). The Republicans have offered HB5356 "To discontinue the state's use of California vehicle emission standards and establish the state's use of such standards established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency."  This bill will tie to rational Trump based energy policy rather than California's economically unobtainable and laughable standards. I am confident that the Connecticut Democrat Party will eliminate all efforts to put forth these Republican bills, regardless of the soundness of any proposed policies contained in them.

With the hundreds of bills being introduced in Hartford I see nothing that addresses the massive fiscal debt of the state but I do see more pie-in-the-sky lunacy. The Democrat irrationality is so pervasive that there is a bill that was introduced to protect the legal rights of girls playing sports prohibiting biological males on their teams and from them using their bathrooms, being HB5352, a Republican sponsored bill "An Act Prohibiting Students Who Are Biological Males From Competing On Female-only Athletic Teams And Using Female-only Locker Rooms And Facilities."(https://legiscan.com/CT/bill/HB05352/2025). Can you imagine that a bill like this actually has to be brought forth to protect girls in our public schools? Yet this is Connecticut in 2025.

But fear not! There is hope! There has been a bill introduced HB5335 stating “That section 46b-21 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit marriage between first cousins. Statement of Purpose: To prohibit marriage between first cousins."(https://legiscan.com/CT/text/HB05335/2025). To me that summarizes the lost state of Connecticut for I did not realize that was such an issue in the state needing an actual bill to prevent it.

But sick as that may be, the state has no problem with porn in school libraries, corruption in its elections, massive runaway debt, legal cannabis, and many more failed liberal experiments. Connecticut never changes and hope fades quickly for those who wish the Connecticut Democrat Party would stop its destruction of the once "Constitution State" to feed its sick, progressive, and destructive demons.

The “Connecticut Way”: The Expressway To Failure and Unaccountability

Is there a lack of accountability in our government? Is there corruption in our government? Is there a lack of any acuity, honesty, and purposeful government in Connecticut? These are realistic questions that are continually avoided by our elected officials and are never genuinely investigated by our state run media. Moreover, when a crisis occurs, it is the usual parade of useless hearings, unaccountability, and circular finger pointing instead of responsibility being taken by the person/agency/commission responsible for it followed by restitution and (where justified), criminal charges. Because we have been told for many years that real accountability is not the “Connecticut Way,” a “Way” that has led to failure, financial ruin, bulbous deficits, a failed educational system, and ruined cities for five decades.

But there is always that “official” attempt to make one think Connecticut is on the job. Believe it or not, Connecticut has a "Government Fraud Section" apparently led by Democrat Attorney General William Tong.  Its mission statement is: "The Government Fraud Section protects Connecticut tax dollars from fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption. The Section investigates and litigates civil matters under the Connecticut False Claims Act and other laws. The Section develops cases independently and in conjunction with other state and federal law enforcement agencies and with state agencies that pay, directly or indirectly, for goods and services with Connecticut tax dollars. The Section investigates whistleblower complaints concerning state departments, state agencies, quasi-public agencies, and large state contracts. The Section also enforces Connecticut’s pension revocation or reduction laws when any public official or state or municipal employee is convicted of or pleads guilty or nolo contendere to any crime related to state or municipal office. The Section includes the Health Care Advocacy Unit, which provides advisory assistance to consumers who have health care related problems, particularly those that involve health insurance and managed care coverage denials. In addition, this Section also supports and advises the CT Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, which is an independent state body that advocates for residents of long-term care facilities." (https://portal.ct.gov/ag/sections/government-fraud/government-fraud). Kindly bear in mind that this is the same William Tong who has advocated for prima-facie tax, employment, and Federal law evasion in his embrace of illegal immigration. After reading this statement I wonder if Democrat Attorney General William Tong should turn himself in his self-appointed mission to both not cooperate with Federal officials to remove illegal immigrants in the state and failure to fully disclose the actual costs to Connecticut Taxpayers since his stated mission is to work with " federal law enforcement agencies and with state agencies that pay, directly or indirectly, for goods and services with Connecticut tax dollars"?

Keeping in the spirit of “The Connecticut Way,” this same commission was ostensibly omissive with the recent state audit of Connecticut's State Colleges and University as performed by the Auditors of Public Accounts.  As one example, Central Connecticut State University Chancellor Terrence Cheng, was reported in the audit to have been using his state credit card, being a Procurement card (“P-Card”), in the following manner: "Between July 1, 2021 and Oct. 24, 2024, Cheng charged $27,125 to his P-Card, with 70% of those for meals designated as business meetings...ordered a driving service on three occasions despite having a state-owned car and then later renegotiated his contract to get a vehicle stipend." (https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/audit-finds-cscu-executives-had-lax-attitude-expenses/3457803/).But why stop there? The report also found that "Charter Oak State College President Ed Kolonski used his card to pay for $497,062."  Comptroller Sean Scanlon, who in my opinion has limited abilities/experience in this political position decried these findings in his 18-page report (https://osc.ct.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/OSC_CSCU_Audit24_v5.pdf). Chancellor Terrence Cheng who is a Connecticut state employee earns a salary of $442,000 a year along with a $2,100 a month housing allowance and $48,759 in non-retirement fringe benefits (https://openpayroll.ct.gov/#!/year/2024/full_time_employees,otherspay1,pay2,pay3explore/0-0-0emplid_empl_rcd/103A097F0FCE960AA5B7A3AB4FFDB5A4/0-0-0/agency), apparently does not even live in Connecticut but rather in New York.

As found in the prior audit report: "The Chancellor lives in New York State and commutes to his office in Hartford. In 2021, he was provided with a state vehicle. In 2024, he returned that state vehicle and will instead receive a $24,000 annual car allowance." "The Chancellor had the use of a state vehicle from July 2021, through August 2024. In June of 2024, CSCU self-reported to the Auditors of Public Accounts for the State of Connecticut that discrepancies were found in the mileage reporting for the Chancellor’s assigned vehicle (page 11). Also even though he had a state vehicle for his use and a mileage expense the Chancellor "There was one charge for a car/driver service made on the Chancellor’s assigned P-Card. The charge was $490, including tip on November 20, 2022, for a trip from South Salem, NY to Stamford, CT. Additionally, a general review of transportation charges over $500 found two similar charges made to the President’s Office P-Card. On September 19, 2023, there was a trip from South Salem, NY with three stops in Hartford, a stop in Stamford, and drop off in South Salem, NY totaling $1,263.00. On October 25, 2023, there was a trip from Hartford, CT with stops in New Britain, Killingly, and drop off in Hartford totaling $784.00." (page 12).

The salaries and benefits of the Chancellor and top ranking University officials are astronomical on top of being a huge upraised middle finger to the hardworking legitimate citizens of Connecticut. Was there no one with any similar skills and abilities who could have been hired in the Non-Job as CCSU Chancellor who was a state resident? And why at that salary was he also afforded this kind of travel expense? Keep in mind that Connecticut public colleges have been cutting courses and raising tuition for years. But there is no desire whatsoever at the rotted top of the institutions to cut costs. Moreover, I wonder as an educator how these excessively high salaries and benefits benefit the college student in his or her education?

But if you have not had enough, I have some more. As my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo often says, if you like Peanut Butter, you will love Skippy! The skill-lacking Comptroller Sean Scanlon’s office lacked ‘sufficient’ controls and led to mistakes in life insurance payments. (https://www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/audit-unit-in-comptrollers-office-lacked-sufficient-controls-and-led-to-mistakes-in-life). Now understanding all these egregious failures of governance, if not failures in basic decency, why are there not fines, liens, charges, and calls for restitution of tax dollars? But honest accountability does not all speak of the “Connecticut Way” Spend ill-gotten resources, tax more, spend more, get a wrist slap (if that), promise to do better, get reassigned, and/or retire prematurely with full pension and benefits paid by the taxpayers. (THAT is the “Connecticut Way”).

And would it not be a wonderful world if every state legislator had to read, understand, and be quizzed on these state audits prior to being seated for the term and receiving their first paycheck? (But that is not the “Connecticut Way,” either).

But in any organization, the arrows of accountability always point to the top. So, to the rescue of us all springs Democrat Governor King Ned Lamont "The Unaccountable" who now calls for yet another taxpayer-paid audit and apparent "accountability" while telling the state vassals the Chancellor seems to be confused by his actions and “will do better next time.”  But why in a rational world should there even BE a next time? If Mr. Cheng were in private industry he would have been fired and had liens placed on his property for amounts owed and possibly criminally charged, but since Connecticut Taxpayers must pay for his errors, he has smooth sailing for his incredibly high and costly state pension. And just to remind Connecticut Taxpayers, we still have no answers to Ned Lamont's family hedge fund (Oak HC/FT Partners) and its involvement in state government, nor to their associated companies relating to the Covid-19 crisis include "Thermo Fisher Scientific", "Sema 4", " Core Infomatics", "Ocrulus", "Urjanet", "1life Healthcare", "Galileo Health", "Castlight Health", "Paladina Health", and "VillageMD" to name some as to the amount of profits they received via Connecticut taxpayers. Nor do we have no disclosure of how many of the Governors politically connected hacks have been getting no interest, no-pay back loans and grants funded by your tax dollars or 2% “sweetheart” loans for upwards of $15,000,000 given to Sema4 on the way to its “pump and dump” and colossal  taxpayer-paid, failure. But we are always certain to see that the wayward and unaccountable apples in the Kingdom of The Unaccountable do not fall far from the Royal Tree and he will not exact on others what he never exacts upon his own malfeasance.

But maybe there is at least one ray of hope! The Connecticut State Legislature was seated this past week. A group of people! Elected by the people. To do the people’s work. To ferret out fraud, waste, and abuse. To craft legislation to deal with the aforementioned abuses and draft severe penalties for noncompliance. To call for hearings with live public input and consequence. But it does not appear that this is the direction it is headed. (https://ctmirror.org/2025/01/08/ct-2025-legislative-session-opening-day/) .

But all this haze of unaccountable euphoria can be summed up in the words of 51st District State Representative Chris Stewart, a Republican and newly elected member of the state legislature who said that he liked what he heard to kick off this legislative session.

“Governor Lamont did a really good job,” Representative Stewart said. “One thing I’ve always admired about him is he tries to be levelheaded and makes sure he addresses the concerns and the issues from both sides of the aisle, Democrats and Republicans.”

That comment, Ladies, and Gentlemen, sadly speaks for itself.

Brother Can You Spare Me $16.35? -Connecticut's Yet Even Higher Minimum Wage

Can you spare me $16.35? If you are one of the individuals who are working in Connecticut and receiving minimum wage, you received an hourly wage increase from $15.69 to $16.35 on January 1, 2025. This is an increase of sixty-six cents per hour or an increase of roughly 4%. I am sure that if you receive such an increase, you will not feel any more financially empowered than you did at the moment before you received it, but please have no concerns as the people making this law change hold you in the same minimal regard as they did before the increase was signed into law.

Currently the state's minimum wage is the fifth highest in the country. In addition, Connecticut's cost of living is one of the highest in the country, and it is fast coming to the point where even long-time state-aggrandizing publications and organizations can no longer hide the wretched economic damage taking place. With respect to the minimum wage, the state wage ratings are found in a recent report issued by the state- CBIA (https://www.cbia.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/EAP_CBIA-Foundation_0824.pdf) This very same report ranked Connecticut as the ninth highest cost of living state in the country. This very same report also stated that Connecticut is ranked 47th as one of the worst states in the country in the Business Tax Climate analysis. But let’s not stop there! A fail-safe indicator of positive economic activity is moving van rentals! Here, Connecticut does not disappoint as one of the leading move-out states in another report from the state-supportive Hartford Business Journal. https://www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/ct-remains-in-bottom-10-of-u-haul-growth-index-in-2024?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Developer%20to%20buy%20downtown%20Waterbury%20building%20for%20apt%20%20conversion%20%7C%20Hospital%20fined%20%24153K%20for%20terminating%20labor%2C%20delivery%20services&utm_campaign=HBJ%20Today%20010225. Suffice it to say that when even the most loyal business bulwarks can no longer hide the effects of excessive state mandated regulations, public sector inefficiency, high taxes, and a needlessly difficult state tax system, it’s evident that the Kingdom of His Royal Con Man, King Ned Lamont The Unaccountable, is deeply in trouble.

But let us return to that poor wage worker we spoke about earlier. Can one live on a minimum wage job of 40 hours a week at $16.35 an hour? How could they, given Connecticut’s excessively high taxes, excessively high housing/rent prices, excessively high electric rates, excessively high transportation/driving costs and excessively high food costs made even higher by patently idiotic energy policies? Your minimum wage job paying the royal sum of net $654 will not go far in the state. Could there possibly be a direct correlation between high state minimum wages and high costs of living? Regardless of the pandering of Connecticut Demo-Communist state legislators who prattle on about higher minimum wages resulting in greater economic prosperity, it never dawns on these taxpayer-dependent souls that those paying these high minimum wages and the consumers who purchase products, goods and or services from these unduly burdened businesses are now forced to pay higher prices across the board.

And it is a cycle without end. Since economically failing states like Connecticut do their best to nurture a permanently dependent underclass, these businesses must continue to pay even higher wages for decent workers since states like Connecticut place a greater premium on those who are economically nonproductive but politically valuable to ensure political power. But if a Connecticut business is silly enough to continue in operation, it must increase costs to survive since it is in business to make a profit, contrary to what the Connecticut Democrat Party may think. And the workers who the Demo-Communist legislators claim to benefit from the minimum wage increase are now seeing their job options becoming more limited as struggling businesses are turning to robotics, artificial intelligence, and self-service cashiers to help save money. Or, the goods and intellectual capital of productive and valuable business people are in transport in one of those coveted moving vans headed out of state. The real world understands that money is always finite and must be earned and regenerated. And what dumb politicians often fail to realize is that the most powerful voting landslides are made by one's feet. So, if you are a lower-wage worker now confronted with job loss, please do not hesitate to thank Connecticut Demo-Communist legislators who destroyed the economy while claiming to save it.

However, if you are a purposed state Democrat and you want to come full circle in destroying the state economy, why stop with just forced wage increases? Because by now, you have learned the value of handing out “free money” in exchange for instilling fear and defeat and exerting Communistic control upon the masses. The Covid-19 pandemic was a new Gold Standard in “re-imagining” the role of government fostering non productivity by the draconian shutting down of the economy. Businesses collapsed and jobs were forever lost. During this time, many workers decided it was more economically advantageous to stay home and receive handouts from the government rather than go back to work, while an extremely valuable older generation of workers decided that they had enough of the bureaucracy upon the businesses and government decrees and either retired or rented one of the moving vans spoken of earlier to head out of state. Regrettably, the painful reality of what is wrong with the Connecticut economy is simply and brutally evident for those who are willing to see.

In closing, Connecticut should be doing everything it can to make it easier for businesses to operate in the state in 2025. instead, this new legislative session that is upon us will be the same festival of twisted and delusional rhetoric that has been heard for decades.  We will see the usual statements that higher taxes, more regulations, more state run redundancy, more program spending, higher wages and benefits for state taxpayer funded union employees, weak GOP push back, and more failed economic promises will all work to keep Connecticut at the bottom of all economic categories while keeping it at one of the highest taxed states in the country.  Moreover, always be sure to thank your Demo-Communist legislature when you check out at a local fast-food restaurant and your eyes explode at the price of the meal. And please send your state representative a thank you card after waiting in an excessively long store line waiting for a self-service kiosk to open since no more cashiers work in the grocery store anymore. Or send these dear elected official a Christmas card after you spend three hours on the phone to get a plumber to come to your house to fix a water leak. Our economy should be flourishing and vibrant for all people of any color and creed, and not just the ruling self-interested political elite who continue their destruction of both businesses and their workers in their Brave New Failed Democrat Economy they have built for decades.

Removal of the dysfunctional, redundant, and inept characters that have played an economically poisonous game of musical chairs must quickly happen in Connecticut. The future of the state depends upon it.

The Debtor Is The Slave To The Creditor, and The Creditor Is The Master Of The Debtor

Debt is defined as the state of owing money. Debt for many has become a lifestyle. Although there are times in human life where incurring debt may be necessary, vast amounts of personal debt are incurred as the result of bad choices or purchases based on desire and not critical need. The Holy Scriptures tell us that debtors are slaves to their creditors and the creditor becomes the master of the debtor. And this is a terrible situation to be in.

If you do not believe that, just ask any debtor.

The American citizen understands there are several types of debt in our economy. We have consumer debt which can be broken down into various categories such mortgage debt, auto loan debt, credit card debt, higher education loan debt and personal loan and credit line debt. The figures for these types of debts astonish many. Here are some for you to ponder from the third quarter, 2024 (https://www.fool.com/money/research/average-household-debt/?referring_guid=9589b076-6540-4e22-a38f-3645b0110312&utm_campaign=article&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=nasdaq)

Total American Household debt is $17.943 trillion dollars.

Total American Credit Card debt is $1.166 trillion dollars.

Total American Mortgage debt is $12.594 trillion dollars.

Total American Auto Loan debt is $1.644 trillion dollars.

Total American Student Loan debt is $1.606 trillion dollars.

Household debt based as a percentage of disposable income as a debt payment-to-income ratio, from the second quarter of 2024, is 11.5%. Or in other words 11.5 cents of each dollar of disposable income goes to service debt. The other 88.5 cents of each dollar you clear is what you would have to pay all your other expenses.

One may think that a government, with all its collective wisdom, would be able to fund its operations without debt. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. Government at all levels, be it local, state, or national, is massively in debt. The Federal National Debt is $36.2 trillion dollars and rising. For 2024, the Federal Government will spend a mere $892 billion dollars to finance its National Debt. State governments such as Connecticut have $150 billion dollars in short- and long-term debt and unfunded liabilities that are never tackled or confronted by the superficial, feel-good “bi-partisan” political Uniparty, and this happens elsewhere, as well. If one were to add the total state debt of all fifty states, you are looking at $1.7 to $2 trillion dollars in debt depending on published figures and unfunded liabilities. Municipal Debt, which is funded by municipal bonds, is roughly $4 trillion dollars. (https://www.usdebtclock.org/)

If one were to add up Total American Household and Government Debt it is approximately $58 trillion dollars in total. Is there any plan to pay off the Government debt at all levels, local, state, and national? Not to my knowledge. In fact, the opposite is true. U.S. Senator Ron Paul released his annual “Festivus” report describing the horrific if not obscene wastes in left-inspired government spending. (https://san.com/media-miss/rand-pauls-annual-festivus-report-highlights-1-trillion-in-government-spending/) The Connecticut of King Governor Ned Lamont The Unaccountable pays no attention to fiscal wreckage and pilfering by state university officials and aides while anti-business capitol city Hartford is watching its tallest office building fall into foreclosure on the way to capitulating into subsidized low-income housing. (https://www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/hartfords-tallest-office-tower-faces-loan-delinquency)
The iconic Chrysler Building in midtown Manhattan New York, one of the most historically desirable business locations in days gone by, is facing foreclosure in a rotting and violent New York City (https://www.curbed.com/article/aby-rosens-chrysler-building-saga-a-timeline.html).  Obviously some states and municipalities are in much better shape financially than others especially Democrat led and poorly governed states like Connecticut and New York where commercial taxpaying businesses leave so as not to continue to fund policies of woke nonsense, DEI programs, unchecked illegal immigration, high crime, and higher and higher taxes paid to the inept and illogical Blue State governments burning cash more quickly than their infrastructures and economies are deteriorating.

But in review of this sordid and sick situation, one has to conclude that if debtors are slaves to creditors, Blue State Democrat politicians love to increase debt and redundancy while increasing the enslavement of citizens by tossing them fictional “bones” and freebies that the fewer remaining legitimate and taxpaying citizens must bear the burdens of paying via increased taxes and fees. The worst examples of this reckless and unregulated spending are in education and medicine, where the philosophy has been that more spending, redundant administration, and taxes will continually solve problems when all of this drives costs and debts to astronomical levels that are impossible for debtors to ever pay. However, in Connecticut and other Blue States, your Democrat politician such as The Unaccountable and his henchmen will create “medical debt forgiveness” causing such egregious debt to magically disappear overnight with a legally questionable program. In Connecticut, it is reported that 23,000 residents (citizenship optional) with have $30 million debt in debt wiped out! My good friend and colleague Tony De Angelo sharply questioned the legality of this program in detail which is apparently run by "Undue Medical Debt"  on his weekly segment on the Lee Elci show 94.9 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgdFNln9OI4) , (https://www.UndueMedicalDebt.org) , this being a strange charitable organization which has been by billionaires for bulbous contributions that can be channeled per its own website to various locales for the ostensible buying of votes and political influence.  This "loan forgiveness" program has several legal questions that need to be answered clearly and transparently for Taxpayers, but we know it will not be. Because, the Democrat Master is calling the shots! (You see? The Master increased your debt. The Master is now coming to relieve your debt with his signature on the debt forgiveness letter! To show your appreciation, always vote for The Master as he creates more bulbous debts to charitably relieve for others. Be advised, The Master, has spoken.).

Contrary to what our elected officials tell us, and credit companies tell us our current collective level of debt is not sustainable. It will be quite painful to see what economic damages consumers and governments will be dealing with in 2025, especially with the amount of interest that will be paid to finance $58 trillion dollars in debt. Where does this money come from? Just more and higher taxes on a government level? On a personal level the elimination of one meal a day and or homelessness or broken families or foreclosure? Perhaps our economy, especially our government, could learn to do much more with less and pay down this sickening economic albatross that strangles our economic system for generations to come.  Then again maybe they could care less about it since political power means economic power in our not so brave new world as more slaves are created for their avaricious and corrupt masters.

Happy New Year.

Why Taxpayers Have Stopped Believing In The Government

Why have Taxpayers stopped believing in what the federal government says? There are many reasons including the years of economic and social misery of the Biden Administration foisted upon the public. Perhaps such mistrust is rooted in a 1,547-page United States “stop gap” budget bill that was to keep the country operating until March 2025. Included in that unread bill was all sorts of "pork"-related funding that would help to keep our National Debt at over $36.2 trillion dollars and growing by the second or a mere $271,790 owed per American Taxpayer. But ignorant taxpayer who are you? You are not supposed to question line items in that bill such as "essential" "funding of $8 billion for a new football stadium in Washington, D.C., $50 million to be spent annually for an extended drinking water program, five years' worth of funding for a healthcare education program, a re-authorization of the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act, the manufacture of more dangerous and exploding electric buses for the continued satisfaction of Kamala Harris, and a future pay raise for members of Congress" (https://www.thecentersquare.com/national/article_f86669c0-bd72-11ef-8ec1-6b8ff665afb6.html). You are also not to question "a one-year extension of the State Department’s Global Engagement Center, which funded an advertisers’ “blacklist” of The New York Post and other outlets to purportedly crack down on “misinformation.”(https://nypost.com/2024/12/18/us-news/musk-and-ramaswamy-press-house-gop-to-kill-federal-funding-bill-ever-seen-a-bigger-piece-of-pork/).

I am curious if any of the United States Representatives in Connecticut bothered to read any part of this 1,547-page bill loaded with payouts and payoffs? Of course not, and Taxpayers know it does not work this way. As just one horrific example of the putrid state of government, we watched an embarrassing and unhinged Connecticut United States Representative Democrat/Socialist Rosa DeLauro storm to the speaker’s podium on December 19 and rant the following: “Yesterday a multi-billionaire, with apparently no working knowledge of government or of appropriations — a self-appointed president of the United States, Elon Musk — issued a marching order for House Republicans to go against their own elected leadership and shut down the government,” (https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/12/19/congress/government-shutdown-house-vote-00195479). It is ironic that DeLauro, whose net worth is well over $20 million dollars, is jealous of Elon Musk's wealth given that in her 34-plus years in Congress she has done little actually "representing" the people of her district. It is ironic that one who has made her living being bought by the whims of monied people was now shrieking about a monied person espousing a contrary view to her own. One could not help but laugh at her speech, purple hair, and statements this week on the floor of Congress that were carried to millions on “X”. This is an excellent example of why Taxpayers stopped believing what their government says. In fact, if I were writing a dictionary of terms, I would not attempt to define “mistrust of government”, but rather would just insert a video of this horrific and embarrassing spectacle in its place. It really was that wretched of a performance, shameful even for the State of Connecticut.

Why have Taxpayers stopped believing what their state government says especially in such Democrat led states like Connecticut? There are many reasons. King Governor Ned Lamont The Unaccountable has been the beneficiary of a masterwork in the utilization of millions of state tax dollars to craft stories obfuscating any mention of his continual pattern of leveraging state resources and funding for the benefit of his wife's hedge fund Oak HC/FT through numerous, questionable deals, no bid contracts, and specious transactions. [I have written numerous times about the Lamont associated companies relating to the Covid-19 crisis include "Thermo Fisher Scientific", "Sema 4", " Core Infomatics", "Ocrulus", "Urjanet", "1life Healthcare", "Galileo Health", "Castlight Health", "Paladina Health", and "VillageMD" to name some that have found a way to deal with state-connected entities). But the state is also a great business bank to the Lamont family as well. My good friend and colleague Tony De Angelo first broke the real facts of the $15,000,000, 2% (two percent) “disappearing sweetheart” Connecticut loan to Lamont-family connected Sema-4 using state investments with no collateral or guarantee of repayment on his weekly segment on the Lee Elci radio program 94.9FM, along with the $5 million dollars directed to Lamont family-connected Digital Currency Group to (in theory) "move" 300 jobs to Stamford, CT. But if you did nothing other than watch local state-run media, you would be told that The Unaccountable is the economic, health and well-being, and governance Champion of the state. You will be told that The Unaccountable is "the most popular governor in the country", "saved us all from dying of Covid" and "single-handedly engineered the "Connecticut Comeback". You will never be told that The Unaccountable’s wife’s partnership holds multi-million-dollar capital investments in the Cayman Islands (or more accurately, the secret, tax-free haven, anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage Cayman Islands). But why do you need to know that? Its contrary to the narrative about The Unaccountable. The narrative costs millions of dollars to prop up by means of fictional stories. You are sinful and a conspiracy theorist if you do not believe it! This is why citizens who are the least bit sane have absolutely no trust in the Connecticut government anymore. (Why should they?)

However, the parade of Connecticut mistrust is long and wide. Decent mortgage and taxpaying homeowners battle with un-elected imperious bureaucrats and inane and delusional legislators pressuring local towns and cities to cede control of local zoning laws for the sake of "affordable" housing and "public" transportation, all for the sake of “the public good”. Or, how about the Connecticut comptroller's college system audit reveals 'systematic' misuse of state funds where the perpetrators are encouraged to stay on the job rather than be prosecuted? Democrat Comptroller Sean Scanlon wanders in water over his head with the problems that have been exposed with this audit. However, he gladly follows the Connecticut Democrat Party narrative of expressing surprise at the corruption and vows to address it even though the problems have been known for many months. But let's not stop there. How about the highest electric rates in the country thanks to an incoherent Democrat "green" energy manifesto? Connecticut still has $150 billion dollars in short- and long-term debt and unfunded liabilities. It is a bottom feeder state with high taxes, poor infrastructure, horrible reputation, economically incoherent state union labor agreements, legislative Communist aspirants in-training, high crime, theft and murders, rampant illegal drug trafficking, state-enabled drug abuse, and a lack of any ethics or accountability from its Governor's office. But turn to state-run television and print media! You will be reassured that never happens in Connecticut and the Lamont cash trough is the blueprint for all Democrat elected officials. And you will never hear one word of any of these mentioned. Its just more in a myriad of reasons that Connecticut taxpayers cannot and do not trust their government anymore. (How could they?)

Why have Taxpayers stopped believing what their local government says especially in Democrat led cities such as Bridgeport, Connecticut? There are many reasons. Take Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim as one. After being convicted of racketeering, extortion, and other crimes and serving prison time, Marse Joe gets elected back into office. He spent seven years in prison beginning in 2003 before he was voted back as Mayor of Bridgeport in 2015. His current legacy is the total corruption of the election process following the findings of voter and ballot fraud by loyal Democrat official Wanda Geter-Pataky on several occasions in at least several elections. In real terms your vote really does not count in Bridgeport nor can a functional two-party system exist in the city given the corruption of elections. Nor do they care. The establishment of Bridgeport, CT will see to that. This is why the citizens of Bridgeport do not trust their government anymore. (Why should they?)

So why have Taxpayers stopped believing what their government says? They have stopped for many reasons, and many more than I have mentioned above. We as Taxpayers are tired of the incoherent gibberish that we are force fed daily by the state-run media and our supposedly "elected" officials along with their elitist non-elected political appointees. They lie to us, wanting us to somehow transcend and transform their lies as truths and know truths to be lies. And their experiment has failed miserably for years as your state tax dollars go to continually prop us this farcical Uniparty of media and government. Taxpayer, once again, be damned.

The Attorney General. An Advocate For The People. (But, For Which People?)

Willam Tong (commonly known as “Bill Tong” before he assumed office in 2019), is the Attorney General of the State of Connecticut.

Many people often inquire about the role of the Attorney General, and in this connection, State of Connecticut manuals provide a clear description of his role.

“The Attorney General is the chief civil legal officer of the State of Connecticut. The Attorney General's Office (“AGO”) serves as legal counsel to all state agencies and acts to protect the public interest for the people of the State of Connecticut. Among the critical missions of the AGO are to represent and advocate the interests of the state and its citizens as vigorously as possible, to ensure that state government acts within the letter and spirit of the law, to ensure that public resources are protected for present and future generations, to ensure that the quality of life of all our citizens is preserved and enhanced, and to ensure that the rights of our most vulnerable citizens are safeguarded.

The Attorney General represents the state government, its elected officers, and state boards, commissions, and agencies in suits and other civil proceedings in which the state has an interest. The Attorney General also provides opinions to the agencies of state government, state officers, and the General Assembly upon questions of law submitted to him by such parties. The Attorney General also acts as counsel for state officials in matters pertaining to their official duties. The Attorney General has a role in screening regulations of state agencies, state contracts, and extradition papers.

By virtue of this statutory responsibility to provide legal direction to state government, the Attorney General is in a critical position to advise all segments of the government so that they can carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the law.

In addition, the Attorney General possesses extensive statutory powers that enable him to represent the public interest more generally.

The Attorney General is elected by the people to a term of four years, is committed by law to serving full-time, and must be an attorney-at-law who has been admitted to practice in Connecticut for at least ten years. The Attorney General receives an annual salary of $110,000."

However, like the Ford Motor Company said in advertisements of days long past, William Tong “Has a Better Idea” as to what the Attorney General’s role should be. At a December 5, 2024 anti-Donald Trump meeting at the Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services ("IRIS") meeting in New Haven, CT, William Tong tossed out the policy manual of the State of Connecticut and provided the following statements regarding his official function when it comes to defending the priority of rights of illegal aliens:

"But look, America runs on Dunkin and undocumented workers," said AG Tong. "And we need to remind everybody, okay, they're coming. Right? And one of the ways we can stop them as best we can is to speak out... and to remind everybody if you like strawberries and avocados, or hamburgers, right? Then, likely those strawberries, avocados and hamburger meat likely was packed not just by immigrant workers, but undocumented immigrant workers."

"Fifty percent. Fully half of farm workers and meat packing workers in this country are undocumented," continued AG Tong. "If you won't eat anything touched by an immigrant or undocumented workers' hand, you'll be pretty hungry." (https://connecticutcentinal.com/ct-ag-tong-says-america-runs-on-dunkin-and-undocumented-immigrants-claims-ct-would-be-toast-without-illegals-at-eye-opening-iris-event/).

Now to be fair, William Tong was joined at this meeting by several other like-minded officials such as Dr. Madeline Negron, Superintendent of New Haven Public Schools, Mayor Justin Elicker, and Chief of Police Kurt Jacobsen all promoting a sense of wariness, false hope, and comfort to those within the city illegally. But of particular interest is the Attorney General who tosses off a “fifty percent” of farm workers figure for justifying his support for lawbreaking. I wonder where he got the fifty percent figure? It is published somewhere that the Connecticut and American Taxpayers can read about it? Does this figure include also food produced and harvested in Connecticut? Does this publicly-funded employee or his family have financial interests in Dunkin Donuts? My good friend Tony De Angelo also discussed this meeting at length this past Tuesday 12/9 on the Lee Elci Show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2k-3zjT34Y) and on the 12/11 THIRTY WITH TONY video show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUaEO7ZKTw0&ab_channel=TonyDeAngelo%27sP.M.CoasttoCoast

In Tony’s segments, he asks the following question (in paraphrase): “I thought the job of the Attorney General was to protect tax compliant dopes like me from people operating illegally, paying no taxes, and abusing their workers.” And good question, indeed. Many are wondering how does this "defense" of illegal immigrants fit into the legality of Tong’s office according to his job description?  Doesn't Attorney General Tong have more pressing problems in the state? But his attacks echo the spirit of a liberal activist Democrat Attorney General who somehow creates new law expositions and evaluations that will coincide with the twisted and wretched Democrat Party narrative.

Another such episode can be seen in Tong's absurd and inane lawsuit  where in 2020, he filed a lawsuit against Exxon/Mobil alleging that "ExxonMobil has orchestrated an ongoing, systematic campaign of lies and deception” to hide from the public that burning fossil fuels contributes to climate change. (https://www.manifest.co.uk/exxonmobil-to-go-to-court-over-climate-deception-lawsuit/). From that same article he also stated: ExxonMobil “knew decades ago that the release of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, when fossil fuels are combusted, was a substantial factor in causing global warming.” Tong claimed ExxonMobil knew as early as the 1950s and 1960s that the company’s activities were contributing to climate change and said by the early 1980s it was able to predict “the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the corresponding temperature increase for the year 2020”.

I am curious that Attorney General Tong knew that much about "global warming" before he was born and where his facts came from? But tossing unsupported statistics is how he rolls, much like many of his state peers. He is merely following the blueprint as to how to financially shake down a company for political purposes (just like Senator Blumenthal did for almost 20 years as Attorney General). I wonder what would happen if Exxon/Mobil agreed to close their over 40 gas/diesel stations in Connecticut to settle this malicious suit?  What would the economic impact to the state in lost taxes, jobs and the like be? Could people shop for groceries, go to medical appointments, and go to school and to work to pay exorbitant Connecticut taxes without using these evil fossil fuels? And why does Attorney General Tong since his birth continue to use these evil fossil fuels?  But of course, there is zero-accountability in Connecticut where its not about what is compliant and coherent, but rather it is about what is convenient and confused at this moment in order to establish an Alinsky-esque twisted political goal.

But wait! There's More! Another critical issue that Connecticut Taxpayers will be funding thanks to Attorney General Tong is an "abortion hotline". This was created with no public consent by the State legislature with the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation. "Connecticut has seen firsthand what happens when we mobilize and organize at the state level: electing pro-choice majorities in the State House and State Senate, passing laws that expand access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care, and most recently, implementing the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, one of the first shield laws successfully passed post-Dobbs to protect providers and those seeking care in Connecticut. Reproductive Equity Now is excited to expand the capacity of advocates in Connecticut and build a regional powerhouse for abortion access. We strongly believe that Connecticut is key to making New England a regional block for abortion access. With protection for providers on the books, in addition to digital privacy laws to protect the location and information of people accessing care in the state, Connecticut is a place where people can feel safe and protected when traveling to access compassionate care. But there is still work to do to break down barriers to reproductive health care, especially for Black, brown, LGBTQ+, and young people. We’re growing our team and we’re expanding our capacity to think even bigger and bolder when it comes to passing reproductive equity legislation in the state. (https://reproequitynow.org/connecticut)

If you read this organizations legislative agenda, it falls into line with what the liberal Connecticut Democrat Party agenda on abortion on demand, health care for immigrants through the "Husky 4 Immigrants Coalition and more. (https://reproequitynow.org/connecticut-legislative-agenda)

In review of the three stated crusades above, the operative question then becomes: who does Connecticut's Democrat Attorney General William Tong really represent and work for? Illegals? Tax cheating businesses? Irrational Green New Deal idealogues? Pro-abortion advocates wanting innocent taxpayers to consistently pay for their bad choices? In review of the above, William Tong certainly does not represent the legal Connecticut Citizens and Taxpayers who are forced to foot the bill for his liberal, self-driven, narrow-minded and twisted political agenda. He threw away the mission statement in his approach to the OAG. He seems to a big part of the Omnipotent One-Party Connecticut Democrat Party rule which is vital to propping up the last gasps of socialism that have made Connecticut an economic failure and disaster over the past thirty years. Connecticut's Democrat Attorney General William Tong is yet another extreme failure in his misguided gibberish that defines a political manifesto that does not work or is wanted any more. Once again, honest, compliant, and taxpaying citizen, be damned.

Lying. The Life Blood of The Biden Family And Other Democrats.

Joe Biden is a pathetic and criminal President in the opinion of many Americans. He is an insult to the American Taxpayer. The United States Taxpayer has seen the President and his son deceive the country through chronic lies. Lies that summarize and are the context of Joe Biden's political career. Lies dating all the way back to 1965 at the Syracuse law School. Lies when he plagiarized campaign speeches by British politician Neil Kinnock, Robert, and John F. Kennedy during the time when he was running for President in 1987. And now, Joe Biden lies one more time to save himself and his son Hunter by pardoning him for all his crimes since 2014, even though he said he wasn't going to do that. One can argue that the numerous times that Biden denied he was going to pardon his son was just the usual gibberish spewing from the President's deranged mouth. More and greater lies as has been the currency of the life and times of Joe Biden.

How much money did the President's family earn from the Hunter shakedowns and the selling of Joe Biden's political influence during this ten-year time frame of the pardon? And how do we as American Taxpayers feel about the total disregard for the rule of law shown by this Democrat President and his party? The rule of law obviously does not apply to the President, his family, and/or the Democrat Party. They are allowed to sell out of our country for their personal gain. The rule of law obviously does not apply to the testimonies of the brave IRS whistleblowers who called out the family for their egregious illegal actions. Everything somehow did not exist, the laptop, the Russian hoax cover-up, the “big guy,” the gun, the drugs, Bobulinski, Jimmy Biden, Valerie Biden, the tax evasion. All gone in a second with the Big Daddy pardon of all time. And while this was happening, we saw the daily torture and suffering that President Trump was put through via false and incoherent legal challenges that were made up by Democrat hit men who we made to believe were unbiased Attorney Generals and humble public servants that were far above reproach or criticism if any one of us had questioned their specious actions.

Americans have just spent the past four years listening in disbelief as the Department of Justice, the FBI, the IRS, and other governmental agencies all lied and covered up for Joe and Hunter Biden crimes. Americans clearly see a two-tier justice system and a justice system that really does not work for the common man, but only for the political elite. And don't forget the state-run media who has done an incredible job along with the Democrat Party propping up the failed Biden- Harris Administration along with the Biden crime family. It has been truly amazing to watch. You and I would both be in jail for what this family did for the past ten years, but Team Biden walks off of the political field scot-free.

However, let us always keep in mind that lying, malfeasance, unanswered questions, and a total lack of responsibility are the Gold Standards for Democrat run cities, systems, and officials in states like Connecticut and in many other places. Convicted Felon Mayor Joe Ganim and his accomplice Wanda Geter-Pataky of Bridgeport, CT have yet to face the least bit of accountability for the Bridgeport Ballot Scandal. The past two United State Senate races in Connecticut were both called either before, or, at the very minute the polls closed. And King Governor Ned Lamont The Unaccountable continually escapes any inquiry or investigation regarding his myriad shaded dealings and scams during Covid-19, among a multiple of other things. But this kind of unmerited favor is expected by Democrats at all levels of government. Because why should they receive any less courtesy than Paterfamilias Joe Biden?

But let us be clear. We have just lived through a historic moment in our nation's history with this pardon. The pardon sickens many hard working, law abiding American Taxpayers that it happened. And guess what? We are truly powerless to do anything about it. Just the way the Democrat Party has envisioned it. Rip off the country, bring it to its knees, make a profit from it, suck taxpayer blood and treasure, and then walk away. Just like the Biden family is doing today. Crime does pay for the Biden family. Crime pays for other Democrats.

Do not forget that. It is a mockery of the rules and laws that govern us, but not them, in our country and state.
