Connecticut: Are You Better Off Than An Illegal Alien?

The forgotten men, women and families in the once great state of Connecticut really do not ask for much. They ask for clean and safe streets. Lower taxes. Reliable public education. Recreation. Economic opportunity. The chance to build equity and value. However, the twisted and putrid Democrat machine in Hartford continues to manufacture a directed effort to assail anything close to that for these innocent citizens. Week in and week out things continue to get worse in Connecticut. Every time you think things are getting better, the Connecticut Democrat Party dumps another piece of bad and unlawful legislation out to oppress the populace at that last minute. Below, we will now examine the latest piece of crap that is being force fed to Connecticut Taxpayers making their lives yet even more dangerous and defenseless.

This latest legislative brutality is known as Senate Bill 397 (An Act Concerning Democracy and Government Accountability. (“Bill”) Passed by the Connecticut Senate in April 2026. This Bill is stated to strengthen oversight of United States Immigration and  Customs Enforcement ("ICE"), permit lawsuits against federal officers for civil rights violations, and ban law enforcement masks. It creates "protected areas,” (e.g., schools, hospitals, and churches), where civil arrests are restricted, and limits data retention from automated license plate readers.

Upon reading the Bill it is quite clear that the fever dream of the deluded Connecticut State Senate is to see state officers in violent skirmishes with the officers of ICE. It is ostensible that if the state officers prevail (an extremely unlikely scenario especially given the force permitted in defense of the U.S. Constitution and the Supremacy Clause), this same state Senate could then set up a twisted and delusional banana state under its own control showing no mercy to its legitimate citizens.

But this sane or disaffected Connecticut citizen must come to grips with why the Connecticut State Senate wishes to destroy everything for which they have worked. This same citizen wonders why government would not work to protect what they have worked so hard for, especially as a good part of their tax dollars have been expended for such protection.

Perhaps at this juncture it would be helpful to review what ICE does, particularly with respect to Enforcement and Removal Operations ("ERO"). The ERO directorate upholds U.S. immigration law at, within, and beyond our borders. ERO's work is critical to the enforcement of immigration law against those who present a danger to our national security, are a threat to public safety, or who otherwise undermine the integrity of our immigration system.

ERO operations target public safety threats, such as convicted criminal undocumented aliens and gang members, as well as individuals who have otherwise violated our nation's immigration laws, including those who illegally re-entered the country after being removed and immigration fugitives ordered removed by federal immigration judges. ERO deportation officers assigned to INTERPOL also assist in targeting and apprehending foreign fugitives or Fugitive Arrest and Removal (FAR) cases who are wanted for crimes committed abroad and who are now at-large in the U.S.

ERO manages all aspects of the immigration enforcement process, including identification and arrest, domestic transportation, detention, bond management, and supervised release, including alternatives to detention. In addition, ERO removes undocumented aliens ordered removed from the U.S. to more than 150 countries around the world. (https://www.ice.gov/about-ice)

When reading the above, it is quite clear that ICE does keep our country safe from the invasion of ten million illegal and undocumented people that entered our country during the Biden Administration as they try to apprehend the many criminals that were let in at that time. This also includes 1.7 million migrants detected by technology but not apprehended that have evaded Border Patrol. But the Connecticut Democrat Party, with zero regard for legitimate Connecticut taxpayers, wants open borders and to punish Connecticut taxpayers even more, by having them pay for these illegals. It is estimated that the state pays $1.3 billion dollars or more for them. But you will not get a real answer from your nontransparent Democrat state government as to the costs. Moreover, you will get the Governor and the Attorney General vehemently insisting that Connecticut is not a sanctuary state, during a time when every large city in Connecticut has deemed itself to be a “welcoming sanctuary city,” regardless of legal citizenship. This convoluted strategy is right out of Saul Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals". And this is the Connecticut way of governance.

I believe it is also valuable to try to refresh the Connecticut Democrat Party's memory as to why ICE is trying to enforce Federal Laws, and respectfully provide this piece from 2024: "The same disastrous catch-and-release policies that let the killers of Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and Jocelyn Nungaray loose into the country are also still in use by this administration (Biden)––regardless of the consequences. In fact, this fiscal year alone, more than 1.2 million inadmissible aliens have received a “Notice to Appear” from CBP and have been released into our communities with inadequate vetting and screening. The list of preventable crimes committed by those here illegally unfortunately continued to grow last month. On July 28, Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez shot a San Antonio police officer who was responding to a domestic violence call. Chacon-Gutierrez reportedly entered the U.S. illegally through Eagle Pass, Texas, in November of 2023 and was released with an April 2026 court date. According to a DHS memo revealed on July 30, more than 1,000 known members of the Venezuelan gang Tren De Aragua (TdA) are in the U.S. and have been encouraged to attack state and local law enforcement in our communities". (https://homeland.house.gov/2024/08/21/startling-stats-factsheet-nationwide-border-encounters-surpass-10-million-under-biden-harris-administration-as-americans-suffer/)

But who gives a tinker’s dam about obedience to Federal law in Connecticut? Connecticut Democrats in the Senate pushed through Senate Bill 397 as discussed above, a Bill that Connecticut Republicans were not allowed to read . What residents are they talking about protecting? Illegal ones? Again let us refresh the Connecticut Democrat Party memories; What about “Operation Broken Trust” in August 2025 when ICE arrested sixty-five people in several Connecticut cities including Stamford, Norwalk, and Danbury, targeting individuals with connections to organized crime and serious offenses? These arrested individuals were linked to charges including sexual assault, domestic violence, child sex abuse, drug dealing, and weapons violations and some of these criminals had previously been convicted of serious offenses and were in the community prior to the ICE sweep.  Or what about illegal immigrant Edgar Gomez who beat to death a two-year-old child in Stamford? These people will be protected under Bill SB 397. Why? Can the Connecticut Democrat Party confirm that all illegal immigrants are out of the state and Taxpayers are no longer spending $1.3 billion dollars to support them? Why would they want these criminals living in the state?

The bill, S.B. 397, allows residents to sue federal law enforcement in state courts. It also designates churches, schools, and hospitals as protected areas. Under the bill, federal law enforcement would need a judicial warrant to enter. ICE agents and all federal law enforcement at all levels would be required to show their badges and are banned from wearing masks. Republicans blasted the bill on Tuesday, saying the state does not have the ability to tell ICE agents how to do their jobs. "Why are we doing this other than passing a bill that sounds good politically for them, and frankly is nothing more than a guise – an anti-cop bill," said State Sen. Stephen Harding (R-Minority Leader). Sen. Saud Anwar (D-South Windsor) said that ICE's operations have "instilled a fear into communities across our state that is crippling and cruel." We’re taking action to make sure federal law enforcement has to follow the same rules that state and local police do. We’re making sure our local residents who are mistreated have recourse against those mistreating them. Against a backdrop of lawless violence and widespread discrimination, this bill tells Connecticut residents their safety is paramount," Anwar said in a statement following the bill's passing. ( https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/ct-senate-pass-bill-aimed-at-protecting-residents-from-ice-sends-it-to-house/3725724/)

Democrat State Senator Anwar who has been known for his proclivity for illegal and audacious conduct, appears delusional with his incoherent statements. His statement tells legal Connecticut citizens and Taxpayers to screw off and drop dead if you want to be protected from illegal and unlawful immigrants that roam Connecticut. He wants Connecticut to flourish in an unlawful, illegal manner with criminals roaming the streets, while featuring a flourishing illegal state-supported drug trade, human trafficking and much more. You see, the stream of illegal immigrants into the state to Democrats provides cheap labor and new voters to keep them in power forever. It is a Socialists dream.

Thus, we see another bad bill that hurts Connecticut engineered by a dangerous and totally out of touch Connecticut Democrat Party passing again with tepid Republican pushback. I, and many others, cannot understand how a bill like this could be legal and pass under Federal laws. But since your Connecticut government has no interest in protecting you, I end this article with some simple advice as found on the ICE website. Connecticut Taxpayers and Legal Connecticut residents can call 1-866-DHS-2-ICE to report suspicious activity. Further, I urge you to report this bill SB 397 and the people responsible for it. The Bill is suspicious activity and is neither legal nor constitutional.

Suspicious activity and illegality. This is the Gold Standard of governance for the twisted and putrid Connecticut Party in 2026, and it is safe to say that due to the failure of Democracy in 2026, only you and I can push for any change in this regard.

Connecticut: Moscow On The Connecticut River

Decades ago, the legendary “ABC Wide World Of Sports” chronicled the life of your average Russian citizen living behind the Iron Curtain in the USSR: Up in the morning in a dreary apartment. Off on a dismal public transit system to a dismal state-sponsored job. Return home. Clear the dinner dishes. For the evening’s entertainment you had your choice of several channels of grainy television as you opened a can of beer, being your only luxury. One channel played, with the continuous nattering of pompous, twisted, and prevaricating state officials telling you every night how wonderful everything was in Russia, only the state was telling you the truth, only they were the ones that cared for you, how blessed you were to be living in Communism, and how awful and terrible the USA was to its people. These assertions came with obedience, and never challenge from the media. The other channel featured all of the great Russian athletes of the past (Tretiak, Chipoulas, Alexiev, Tarasov) and reminded you that the Russian people were a superior race, and even though only the rich elite were able to attend the events, you were to be so appreciative for what these people were doing, and you should be grateful that so much of your money was spent on their care, feeding and training.

The operative impression you were left with is, this was a world without, life, hope, freedom, or initiative.

Therefore, it had dawned on me this week: Is the Connecticut of today really any different than the USSR of decades past?

Consider: The Nutmeg state features either state-run (or limited) news leaving out truth and reason, a fawning attitude towards the elites, vile hatred and criticism for any policies that could help its citizens, the dictation of what citizens could (or should) do with their bodies or the education of their children, that the state itself is the largest employer, that the state union controls the political system, the continual erosion of freedom, and treating those that rightfully rail against the oppression as irrational far-right racist wing nuts who have no idea what they are talking about.

And as far as pompous, twisted, and prevaricating state officials are concerned, consider the following comments from our elected leaders:

“So you are right that that has been the Democratic strategy for 30 years, maybe, and it has failed to deliver for the people we care about most, the undocumented Americans that are in this country."

Connecticut Democrat Senator Chris Murphy to MSNBC Host Chris Hayes in 2024

"ICE agents at airports will only aggravate delays & lines—disrupting checks, interrogating travelers, dragging parents from children, detaining citizens, brutalizing families, shooting & even killing. "

Connecticut Democrat Senator Dick Blumenthal on X March 22,2026

“Trump’s message to Connecticut—fall in line with extreme MAGA ideology, or your families go hungry. Trump wants states to sign hateful pledges that have absolutely nothing to do with food assistance. These conditions are plainly unlawful, and we’re suing to ensure Connecticut gets every penny of USDA funding that our taxpayers paid for and our families need to put food on the table,”

Connecticut Democrat Attorney General William Tong March 23, 2026

“I AM PROUD OF CONNECTICUT! WE HAVE ONE OF THE TOP TEN ECONOMIES. WE BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD”

Governor Ned Lamont on X from New Britain, March 26, 2026: https://x.com/NedLamont/status/2037195050011050328?s=20

And as far as engendering a special quality of athletic program with no regard to expense, consider that the already debt-burdened University of Connecticut will begin a multi-million dollar renovation of its Gampel Pavilion. While the state unions are happily employed in the project, the debt burden will increase exponentially to citizens that could never afford to go to the game by selling more “UCONN 2000 Bonds”  https://today.uconn.edu/2026/03/renovations-starting-at-gampel-to-enhance-the-fan-experience-add-new-revenue-sources/.

So taking all of the above into account, I believe the poor and beleaguered Connecticut citizen is forced to endure his life today as a Muscovite in Russia did decades back with the constant bombardment of “things are great here, you will own nothing and be happy, and our athletes are the best in the world, so we cannot spend enough of your money, on them” (inter-alia).

Again I submit unto you: Connecticut can now be called Moscow on the Connecticut River.

Some still may be unconvinced. Consider again. The stale rhetoric never ceases with Connecticut's Democrat Party ruling elite. The above four quotes are just a small sampling of the group of misinformed, pompous, and elite self-serving dictators who spews their incoherent gibberish to a lapdog, taxpayer subsidized state run media that waits in baited breath for each new sentence of nonsense that comes out of these fools.  It is then reported as the truth and nothing but the truth.

Need even more reinforcement? Connecticut's Democrat Ruling Elite no longer have any bounds. Two topical issues involving an overwhelming majority opinion against two ludicrous bills; (House Bill 5044 and Senate Bill 450) imposing state mandates for vaccines for all age groups in the state, you, be damned. Also consider House Bill 5468 which slams Connecticut's Home schooled children and parents with mandatory yearly registration of their children and a litany of other regulations to basically discourage this form of education.  In the limited public hearing that was allowed, the testimony was overwhelming against both bills. but as in Connecticut's Democrat Party ruling elite non transparent government legislature, the results are predetermined. Ram a bill through the legislature, then claim it is in the best interest of Connecticut taxpayers to ram even more limits on their personal freedoms and raise taxes also. Spit and repeat the rape of Connecticut Taxpayers repeatedly. Democrat Ruling Elites will have it no other way.

And in any aspiring Communist society, no one makes out better than the top dog. Ned Lamont's paper trail is alive and well and Connecticut Taxpayers still get no answers about  "Thermo Fisher Scientific", "Sema 4", " Core Infomatics", “Centrellis”. "Ocrulus", "Urjanet", "1life Healthcare", "Galileo Health", "Castlight Health", "Paladina Health", and "VillageMD",  the Lamont-related Cayman Island partnerships, large Cayman Islands deals such as the "Horsebarn Hill Investment Fund" hiding in the UCONN Foundation,  and other deals working through “quasi-public” organizations such as Lamont-connected (and covert) “Connecticut Innovations”.

Please remember that Ned Lamont is running for re-election again based on this corruption, and as of the time of this writing, no candidate has taken him to task on any of that.

And rational souls may ask why does Ned Lamont need a third term for governor but to continue this multi-part financial pillage of Connecticut alongside his spouse Ann Lamont who, as a "world-class financier" is continually by his side so much that he addresses her at the State of The State address?

So, this is what Connecticut's State Government has evolved into. And we are now apparently at the point where legal Connecticut voters and taxpayers no longer have any say in their state government. Bad legislation is a given, so long as it supports and profits Connecticut's Democrat Ruling Elite. High taxes, an excessive cost of living, massive state spending and state debt are of no concern.  It is business as usual. And what can be done about it? It is a simple, yet complex answer. Take voting. Let us start with no more absentee ballots unless they have been researched and approved completely. Let us continue with no more same day voter registration using your grocery store customer card. Let us add Photo ID required for voting on the same day of the election. And finally, let us have a world with fully transparent vote counting after election polls closed. But the Democrat Ruling Elite will fight that tooth and nail as it challenges their insular, controlled, controlling, and harassing world, crying for the poor as they increase in riches, and attempting to challenge truth, reason, freedom, and initiative. For after all, someone in the state might do better than they do using honest means. And that would be a horrible thing, as you can't control those kinds of people.

Moscow on the Connecticut River. Before you laugh and shake your head, I respectfully ask for you to reread the article again. If you do that, I will guarantee you that you will no longer be laughing any more.

An Ode To 2025

Depending on which side you are on politically, socially, and even morally, 2025 was either the best of times or the worst of times.

To me, it is beyond clear that the first year of President Trump's second administration has been a vibrant and energizing time for much of our country. His actions, reactions, and forceful leadership are making major inroads to many of our Nation's ills. President Trump has attacked illegal immigration by closing our borders, arresting criminal aliens, and deporting them. We are looking at energy independence once again, while energy prices in many areas have gone down dramatically. Economically, we are seeing lower taxes for both individuals and businesses, while the President wants our country to become self-sufficient and produce more goods domestically. This new production helps to create new jobs and economic stimulation for our economy. Crime is falling, especially in Washington, D.C. The President is attacking the illegal drug problem head-on with positive results. Law and the rule of order have become priorities, not some fantasy. Internationally, President Trump helped to negotiate a Gaza ceasefire while getting higher defense spending from NATO nations. America is respected once again and there is hope for a new Golden Age.

But sadly, there are a number of Trump-deranged brain addled people that see these positive developments through an entirely different lens. To them, the first year of President Trump’s second administration has been deeply divisive and destabilizing for much of the country. They will say that his impulsive actions, erratic reactions, and confrontational style have exacerbated many of our Nation’s long-standing problems rather than solving them. They will say that his immigration policies have focused on harsh enforcement, family separation, and mass deportations that critics argue undermine human rights and America’s historical role as a nation of immigrants. They will claim that the Trump energy independence policy favoring fossil fuel interests will threaten long-term climate stability and be the death of us all, even as energy costs remain volatile for many households. They will claim that the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” of 2025 only favors corporations and the wealthy regardless of the extremely favorable law changes for modest citizens. They will claim the cities were safe and the Mexican border was secure under Alejandro Mayorkas and Joe Biden, and all should have been left alone. They will claim assaults on narco-terrorists are an unjustified attack on the innocent and the vulnerable. On the international stage, while the administration points to a Gaza ceasefire and increased NATO defense spending as victories, these poor souls will argue that America’s global standing has suffered due to damaged alliances, transactional diplomacy, and diminished moral leadership. They also view the horrific surgical mutilation of children as a human right that should be taxpayer-supported. What is astounding is that these naïve and often deranged individuals cannot grasp the economic, social, and physical destruction that would happen to them and the country if any of their irrational policy concepts were put into effect for any period of time. If this happened, the country would simply accelerate into chaos and upheaval.

Given this additional obstacle of the deranged and the deluded in the United States of America, President Trump and his administration have much more work to do over the next three years in addition to continuing to daily fight the incoherent Democrat Party, non-elected activist judges, and a media who despises all things Trump. It is truly beyond comical to watch some days. Can one imagine how far we could grow as a country, economy and world if President Trump was actually allowed to govern without both hands tied behind his back? What would happen if all of the Democrat outbursts, tantrums, lawsuits, and incoherent gibberish spewed finally stopped, and they actually offered something other than their same failed liberal, socialistic destructive programs and policies that have done little, if anything, to solve the problems in our country? Do we all live in the same country? Because in 2025, it does not seem that way.

And then, 2025 brought about the phenomenon of the recalcitrant Blue state, which zags every time the Presidential administration zigs. One of the biggest examples of this pathetic social and economic regression is Connecticut, as it continued its accelerated decline in 2025. An arrogant and omnipotent ruling Connecticut Democrat Party controlling all state and national offices daily accelerate the economic and social ruin of the state. Elected officials such as U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro, and Attorney General William Tong cannot hate President Trump and things Republican enough for their daily shows of anger. These individuals and others from Connecticut's Democrat Party communicate daily in front of an obedient, state-run and paid media with their disjointed, garbled, muddled, and unclear statements and non-solutions to the disasters of the state. The state is a bottom feeder economically, with high taxes on a local and state level, a poor economic climate hosting a mere $100 to $150 billion dollars in short- and long-term debt along with unfunded liabilities. Yet "gender affirming care" and horrific child mutilation is the priority of these fools who feel that they are superior to those people they supposedly represent.

Perhaps there is hope on the horizon with an election for Governor upcoming in 2026 that will feature Governor Ned Lamont against, someone. But will that special "someone" finally attack and root out the sickening Lamont and other state corruption that has become a state hallmark? Given the progress to date on this front for years by the State GOP, one cannot be hopeful. Many including myself have written about the lies, fallacies, and theft of the Lamont administration with little result other than a global awareness that many things are horribly amiss. Connecticut taxpayers still do not have any answers with the 2020 COVID-19 debacle, the suspect business in the secret REOPEN-CT Committee meeting in the super-secret ADVANCE CT, Ned Lamont's family hedge fund (Oak HC/FT Partners), investments in Rapyd, a global fintech-as-a-service provider, and Unqork, both having documented common-investment ties to "Infosys." Nor are any answers forthcoming from associated companies relating to the COVID-19 crisis that include "Thermo Fisher Scientific," "Sema4," "Core Informatics," “Centrellis,” "Ocrulus," "Urjanet," "1Life Healthcare," "Galileo Health," "Castlight Health," "Paladina Health," and "VillageMD," to name several. Nor are there ever any answers to the questions concerning the Lamont-related Cayman Islands partnerships, large Cayman Islands deals such as the "Horesebarn Hill Investment Fund" hiding in the UCONN Foundation, and other incoherent economic deals working through “quasi-public” organizations such as the now-clearly Lamont-connected (and covert) “Connecticut Innovations.” It is all a compounded lack of transparency by Ned and company. Perhaps I am in error. Will this be the year that these subjects be throttled upon in the upcoming Governor's race? I can truthfully say that if they are not, the status quo will continue without any resolution whatsoever. This result is totally unacceptable to any law-abiding, right-thinking, decent and taxpaying citizen in the state.

As 2025 draws to a final close, I am optimistic on the direction of our country, but not so for Connecticut. Many are very thankful that we have President Trump, not a President Biden or Harris. Many want a new "real" Governor for Connecticut, not more of the scams, schemes, and “beardings” of the Ned Lamont gang. We still live in the greatest country in the world, contrary to what some misguided individuals want us to believe. We can and will overcome the internal and external forces that wish to destroy our states and country with a failed socialist and communist agenda. We can become self-sufficient in our economy and provide upward economic mobility for all, not just the elite political ruling class that continues to stifle all viewpoints that they do not agree with.

God Bless America today and every day. Happy New Year to all. And let us work and pray that things finally (finally) change, in Connecticut in 2026.

Connecticut: The Economic Money Laundering State

Truth in government.  That, is a concept worth exploring.  We realize truth now has been modified to include variations on what was at one time, truth.  Factual truth in government now seems a distant reality as professional politicians and their handlers stumble over rhetoric, words and lies that are now considered truth.

Governance. The concept is obvious. But in Connecticut, the concept is non-existent, or is exercised in reverse. In recent days, several articles and radio and independent media reports have provided us with sordid potential accusations regarding a Federal Investigation into a myriad of state-funded nonprofit organizations, with said accusations taking into account a prominent state senator of color, a huge state “economic development” monolith, and a bevy of “consultants” that are incredibly well paid for ostensible non-jobs.

Governing. The horrific and obscene mess of what passes for Governing in Connecticut is enabled yearly by a group of no less than seventy five (75) asleep-at-the-switch Connecticut State Legislators sitting on the Legislative Commerce and Appropriations Committees, who ostensibly do nothing but hand over multi-millions of dollars every year without  a care to an untold number of tax exempt organizations, all of which are exempt from disclosure by statute drafted via the courtesy of that very same Legislature. After all, this system is great for glad-handing, crony-employing, and photo-opping.

We now enter the Twilight Zone. Welcome to the economic money-laundering State of Connecticut.

Regardless of the obscene amount of tax dollars spent, It is no surprise that Connecticut continues to have many social and economic problems.  That is the truth.  These problems include high taxation, a failing economy, a lack of job creation, a crumbling infrastructure, an illegal drug problem, a crime problem especially with vehicle thefts, unchecked state budget spending, in addition to $100-$150 billion dollars in short and long term debt along with unfunded liabilities, all in excess of the venerated “Fiscal Guardrails” we hear so much about.  But these "truths" have been talked about and written about numerous times by myself and several others in the small group of the common citizen media that must counter the state run media's supposed "truths". And as time goes on, the state run media has been working overtime trying to turn the truth into fables.

This nonprofit scandal gets worse by the day. One of the latest "truths" in the scandal that the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (“DECD”) has somehow "lost" track of Connecticut Taxpayers monies given to several Hartford non-profit social services agencies. .   The Blue Hills Civic Association fell victim to a $300,000 wire fraud and compounded the felony by failing to immediately notify state officials of the theft when it was discovered. In April of 2025 , The Blue Hills Civic Association laid off most of its staff.  The Blue Hills Civic Association according to its 2024 audit lists its Executive Director receiving $149,481 in compensation for the year, she was dismissed from her job in April also. (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/60876558).  The Blue Hills Civic Association has received nearly $14 million dollars from the DECD over the past two years in state and federal grants.  "State spending records show DECD continued to send federal money to the nonprofit after the theft occurred, providing a combined $1.23 million worth of federal dollars in March alone, with the last transfer occurring on March 20."(https://voteearlyct.com/f/blue-hills-civic-association-300k-alleged-wire-transfer-fraud). One must wonder where all the money went?

And why this was not front page news? And why did the Connecticut Legislature keep using the failure Connecticut Department of Economic and Community  Development to continually shovel funds to myriad nonprofits without question or analysis? This pattern defies any sort of logic.

Several Connecticut Republicans that were either brave, (or way (way) late to the issue at hand, depending on your viewpoint) issued a statement regarding this issue and trying to find out the "truth"  From August 6, 2025:

Sen. Rob Sampson, Sen. Henri Martin and Sen. Stephen Harding today issued the following statement regarding federal authorities issuing grand jury subpoenas ordering the State of Connecticut to produce extensive records as part of an investigation of possible irregularities in the distribution of tens of millions of dollars in government grants to social service and business nonprofit organizations in Hartford.

“Wow. A federal dragnet has been cast. The feds certainly seem to have built their case. Fraud and corruption? Sure looks like it. It’s YOUR money, Connecticut taxpayers. Hey, by the way: Where is the comment from Gov. Lamont and Connecticut Democrats? Are they as appalled as Republicans are? All we hear is crickets chirping.” (https://www.facebook.com/sampsonforct).

Indeed. Where is the comment of the Democrat Party and its Socialist Attorney General?

Considering that Connecticut has continually refused to clean up its own house, many decent taxpaying citizens are relieved that the sordid and corrupted situation in Connecticut is finally getting Federal attention. The stories seemingly get worse every single day. (https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/hartford-nonprofit-grand-jury-probes-state-senator-s-personal-relationship-with-grant-recipient/ar-AA1K2EvD?ocid=BingNewsVerp&cvid=4383a6a98ca4438cf3fd72dda846a09c&ei=25&apiversion=v2&noservercache=1&domshim=1&renderwebcomponents=1&wcseo=1&batchservertelemetry=1&noservertelemetry=1)But one question hitherto unasked was raised this past week by my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo as to how many of these state-funded nonprofit organizations have politically-connected “Executives” who are drawing salaries up to 40% of revenues, before “payments to consultants?” As of the time of this writing, this is already a huge story for which only the tip of the iceberg has been reached.

https://x.com/TonyDeAngelo7/status/1953434561238781967

Since all elevators stop at the top floor, of course one also wonders how much did King Governor Ned Lamont "The Unaccountable" know about these "Truths" perpetuated by the DECD and the State Legislature?  Hopefully, the Federal investigation will lead Connecticut Taxpayers to the real "Truth" of what happened to their hard earned tax monies.  But again, Connecticut Taxpayers have never had any  "Truth" forthcoming from unethical business dealings with no-bid state contracts going to Lamont- owned firms such as Sema4  that were heavily invested in Annie Lamont's hedge fund Oak HC/FT, and that the Lamont-related interests made upwards of $77,000,000 in one day at the Sema4 stock public offering.

Did the DECD ever investigate this "Truth"?  Did the Connecticut State Legislature?

Of course not.

But once again we see the same familiar song and dance in Connecticut.  The complex nonprofit debacle fueled by the Legislature and the dysfunctional and unaccountable Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development just keeps on wasting Connecticut Taxpayers monies. It is ostensible that the Connecticut Democrat Party, no matter what the cost, is there to protect the political ruling class who dictate to the Connecticut Taxpayers what they can and can't have.  Why does Connecticut even need the large, unaccountable, and power hungry economic failure known as the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development?

It is hoped that we can finally end the picking the winners and losers in a socialist state like Connecticut.  Let the free market system work once again in Connecticut.  Free the Connecticut Taxpayer from the Connecticut Democrat Party and its economically failed programs.  Force the Legislature to act like one and stop acting life a self-gratifying cadre of “what-me worry?” type lummoxes.

Hallelujah. It is time for "Truth" once again.

And "Truth" cannot arrive quickly enough in The Economic Money Laundering State of Connecticut.

It's "No Kings Day" in Democrat Connecticut. (But Who Is The King?)

On June 14, 2025, "No Kings Day" was a nationwide series of protests across the United States, organized by the 50501 Movement and a coalition of over two hundred progressive groups, including Indivisible, MoveOn, and the ACLU. The demonstrations, held in nearly 2,000 cities and towns, aimed to reject what organizers described as authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of democracy under President Donald Trump’s second administration. The protests coincided with a military parade in Washington, D.C., marking the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, which organizers criticized as an arrogant and self-aggrandizing show. An estimated 4 to 6 million people participated, making it one of the largest single-day protests in U.S. history, with a flagship march in Philadelphia. Protests focused on issues like immigration raids, civil rights erosion, and executive overreach, with events ranging from urban rallies to small-town gatherings, all unified under the slogan “No thrones, no crowns, no kings.”

In lock step with the others, Connecticut joined the nationwide No Kings Day protests, with over thirty demonstrations held across the state. From Hartford’s State Capitol, where people gathered on the north lawn, to smaller rallies in towns like Norwich, New Haven, Bridgeport, and Stamford, protestors voiced opposition to the Trump administration’s policies. Events featured speeches from activists, veterans, and lawmakers like U.S. Rep. John Larson, addressing issues like women’s rights, immigration detentions, and cuts to public institutions.

Query: Did it ever dawn on any the protestors attending the protests in Connecticut that those preaching to them about “No Kings” are really a part of a perverted Royal Priesthood and an unholy nation serving for personal power and gain and the exploitation of the citizen? Did it ever dawn on these same folks that in supporting this royal family, their own personal situation has not taken a turn for the better in decades? Moreover, in the mire of their own lives, did it ever dawn on these people lecturing them get richer and more exploitative by the day at their expense?

Many find great irony in the paid day of protest that is the improved talking point of liberalism. It is the new anti-Trump mantra that he is now a "King" and needs to be stopped, even though he was elected President. But I can see several "Kings" in Connecticut that should be stopped (but we know they never will).

Sitting in the Royal Court is King Governor Ned Lamont, the Unaccountable, being the first King that holds an emperor like existence as the ruling King of the state. “King Ned” has used the state as the Oak HC/FT hedge funds personal piggy bank with the profitability of the draconian Convid-19 measures he declared and proclaimed with Sema-4. No one at the political ballgame is allowed to question any financial interests with Sema-4, Digital Currency Group and its affiliates, ADVANCECT, 4-CT, Boston Consulting Group, UNITE US, Mt. Sinai Genomics, “The Horsebarn Hill Investment Fund”, Tidal River Fund, McKinsey, GeneDX, and the Lamont-based Cayman Islands shell companies. King Ned has never published a tax return. No one knows King Ned's net worth although his wife Annie is worth $650 million according to Forbes (https://www.forbes.com/profile/annie-lamont/).  Thus the Lamont's are closing in on nearly a $1 billion in wealth but King Ned somehow sympathizes with the common Connecticut Taxpayer as they toil daily to pay the astounding taxes of the state King Ned is the overlord for.  But King Ned cares. He kept you “safe from Covid.” He wants childcare for your children so the state can indoctrinate them in their design. He blinks at porn in children’s libraries. He cares nothing about the middle-class homeowner as their zoning laws may rot in Hell. You are not supposed to question any of his hidden dealings. He really does reflect the true characteristics of royalty.

As First Lord, King Dick Blumenthal, an established Vietnam Veteran, and Connecticut's Democrat/Socialist United States Senator for life, maintains a handsome net wealth from his 2023 financial disclosure form estimates a figure between $81.37 million and $132 million (https://finbold.com/guide/richard-blumenthal-net-worth/). King Dick is another Democrat politician whose wealth was obtained to a large extent by his wife. King Dick is a dangerous man, as the most dangerous place to be in Connecticut is between him, and a camera. King Dick insists to be in front of the press daily with his false promises and bellows about his is going after this group, individual, industry and or country for their misdeeds. King Dick did a great deal of damage to the state as Attorney General but he was repaid by becoming Senator for life after he burned too many bridges as Attorney General. Blumenthal enjoys also enjoys diatribes against President Trump. He too really reflects the true arrogance and characteristics of royalty.

The next Lord Chancellor King is the well-known Democrat/Socialist/Progressive/peripatetic idiot Junior United States Senator for life Chris Murphy. King Chris is basically broke since he apparently has a lot of mortgages and is going through a divorce. King Chris has a deep and psychotic hatred for all things President Trump. The Israel/Iran conflict brought these words of wisdom from King Chris; "Trump created the problem. The single reason Iran was so close to obtaining a nuclear weapon is that Trump destroyed the diplomatic agreement that put major, verifiable constraints on their nuclear program." (https://x.com/ChrisMurphyCT/status/1935463595363680454?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet). King Chris in the opinion of many helped to nurture Iran meeting secretly with Iranian Mullahs and promoting former autopen, analyst driven, President Biden's supposed nuclear deal with Iran.  Murphy loves talking the Socialist's game plan and loves being in front of the camera moaning about how bad things are when there is a Republican President and how great things are when there is a Democrat President. As far as royalty, Chris resembles the model of an out-of-control scion of an established royal family, where he given respect only because of who “his people” are. Even though his status is attributed being a man of no accomplishments, he too, is royalty.

Bringing up the rear is Attorney General Democrat/Socialist King William Tong. Tong is a champion of illegal immigration, anti-business, and any type of lawsuit against President Trump. He makes former Attorney General King Dick Blumenthal, look like a pansy in his tirades against all things conservative and or normal. From boys in girls’ sports to constitutional rights for illegal immigrants and the surgical mutilation of vulnerable and confused children, the Activist King William will spew his way or the highway at all comers especially Connecticut Taxpayers (who pay his $206,062 salary). King William likes to refer to himself as a "firewall" to President Trump and consistently condemns all things Trump. In my estimation, this man has the aggressive characteristics of William Shakespeare’s Brutus in “Julius Caesar”, and the other Kings should watch him closely.

There are other lesser Kings in Connecticut presiding over their domain with similar vim and vigor. The following Democrats are Kings with their autocratic and lack of comprise rule; Democrat/Socialist State Senator Leader Martin Looney and Democrat/Socialist State Senator Bob Duff. These Kings rule with an iron hand with little to no oversight in their disregard for the rules and laws of the state and their continual scorn and disdain for the citizens of Connecticut. But why should they care? They are Kings. (You and I are mere subjects and vassals).

So, who really are the “Kings?”  These individual Kings that I have mentioned are an insult to the state and its citizens. Yet they continue to win re-election over and over again and buffalo poor and confused citizens that they are “for the people”  And many wonder why the protest on June 14th was against a President who actually wants to better the country and upend the elitist "King" Democrat status quo that is the true cancer to the state and country.

It is also interesting to note that June 19 was the Holiday of Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery. Social media is replete with the comments of many normal and decent citizens being enslaved by the Connecticut Royal Family of oppression and shame and feeling trapped as they are unable to leave. One asks if slaves could be freed, why not the good people of Connecticut? But alas, this Royal Family has other designs.

So, who really are the Kings? I submit unto you, the paid protestors and "concerned" liberals should really focus on where the royalty really lies in the failed Kingdom of Connecticut.

The Malfeasant Manifesto Of Connecticut Attorney General William Tong

According to state sources, "The Attorney General (“AGO”/”AG”) is the chief civil legal officer of the State of Connecticut. The Attorney General's Office serves as legal counsel to all state agencies and acts to protect the public interest for the people of the State of Connecticut. Among the critical missions of the AGO are to represent and advocate the interests of the state and its citizens as vigorously as possible, to ensure that state government acts within the letter and spirit of the law, to ensure that public resources are protected for present and future generations, to ensure that the quality of life of all our citizens is preserved and enhanced, and to ensure that the rights of our most vulnerable citizens are safeguarded."

And now, we fast forward to 2025 and we focus on the current Connecticut Attorney General, William Tong (aka “Tong”).

Ever since the election of President Donald J. Trump, the myriad wanderings, meanderings, rantings, and ravings of William Tong have been everywhere. Tong has become a one-man riot squad, cheerleader and champion for persons that are present in the state of Connecticut illegally. Need we remind Tong of his purpose and Oath as the Attorney General:  "The Attorney General is the chief civil legal officer of the State of Connecticut. The Attorney General's Office serves as legal counsel to all state agencies and acts to protect the public interest for the people of the State of Connecticut. Among the critical missions of the AGO are to represent and advocate the interests of the state and its citizens as vigorously as possible, to ensure that state government acts within the letter and spirit of the law, to ensure that public resources are protected for present and future generations, to ensure that the quality of life of all our citizens is preserved and enhanced, and to ensure that the rights of our most vulnerable citizens are safeguarded."(https://portal.ct.gov/SOTS/Register-Manual/Section-I/Attorneys-General).

It is beyond ostensible that Tong forgot what "the letter and spirit of law" and “the interests of the citizen” mean by his bizarre actions over the past few weeks. Readers will note that I wrote about his actions in a previous blog article on 12/14/24 (https://swickspeak.blogspot.com/2024/12/the-attorney-general-advocate-for.html). Obviously, Mr. Tong took no opportunity for repentance and correction over these past several months and is continuing hell-bent as the No. 1 Champion for all persons illegally present in the State of Connecticut.

But of course, the Tong apple does not fall far from the rotted Connecticut Tree. Let us revisit the Gold Standard of Attorney Generals Past, in the person of  Democrat/Communist Brave  Vietnam Combat Veteran United States Senator Richard Blumenthal, who as the AG set the tone for an overreaching, anti-business, ultra socialistic Attorney General's Office in his 20 year reign as Attorney General from 1991 to 2011.  Not to be undone, Tong is Blumenthal on steroids fighting for illegal immigrants, abortion at all costs, green energy, and all the failed Democrat/Socialist agendas. For , this is The Connecticut Way. This is an example of the Connecticut Attorney General speaking: “This is a war on our environment, waged by a reckless President on behalf of his fossil fuel industry backers who do not care if our air and water are toxic so long as they make money. Decades of scientific consensus prove that the climate threat is real and that we have a limited window now to mitigate its worst harms. Washington has failed for decades to address the climate crisis, and like just about everything else right now, it has fallen on states to protect our families. Donald Trump is happy to do Big Oil’s bidding, but I’m not about to let him stop the sovereign state of Connecticut from doing what is necessary to address this existential threat. The Department of Justice needs to do its job and enforce our nation’s environmental laws, not waste time ‘investigating’ undeniably constitutional state laws,” said Attorney General Tong. (https://portal.ct.gov/ag/press-releases/2025-press-releases/attorney-general-tong-statement-regarding-trump-executive-order-on-behalf-of-fossil-fuel-industry). Connecticut elected officials are also extremely talented individuals, as I did not realize that Mr. Tong was a scientist as well being well versed on the climate and an economist based on this press release in addition to an advocate for the greater public welfare. Doesn't Connecticut already have one of the highest electric rates in the country? Doesn't Connecticut follow "Clean air" California in its environmental standards? Is Connecticut really a "sovereign" state anymore? Does Tong care the least bit about you, Mrs. Legal Homeowner if Eversource and the state legislature are ripping you off royally as you pay for their myriad failures and public benefit charges in your utility bills?

But always keep in mind that Governor Ned Lamont said Connecticut’s “Business Mojo” was back! Further keep in mind the myriad political magpies that have crowed Connecticut is open for business! Here is an exemplar for you! Avelo Airlines has provided a narcotic to the Democrat run Socialist/Communist city of New Haven and the Sovereign state of Connecticut by using Tweed New Haven airport as a destination to fly in and out of. Avelo pays a great deal in local and state taxes for this honor. Democrat Comptroller and present-value-of- a dollar-fiscal and investment wizard Sean Scanlon has taken credit numerous times for his role, single handedly, to bring Avelo to this airport when he was the political appointee running Tweed. But all this changed with this recent "Tong-ism" and vituperative letter attack to and against Avelo Airlines for making a simple business decision in transporting illegal aliens:   As written to Avelo by Tong, “Violent criminals should be arrested, prosecuted, and where appropriate, deported. But Trump’s cruel and reckless deportation program has unlawfully undermined legitimate law enforcement by ensnaring innocent parents, students, and children. And even when Trump’s own lawyers admit to errors, they claim no ability to right their wrongs.”

Can Tong name all the supposed ensnared parents, student, and children?  Were they all "legal" citizens of Connecticut? As we ask a stupid question, Tong ranted on: “None of these abusive practices are required to secure our borders, promote public safety, or effectively enforce our immigration laws. These flights are cruel by design and enormously wasteful of taxpayer resources, and no business should be complicit. “No one is forcing Avelo to operate these flights. If reporting is accurate, Avelo has freely chosen to profit from and facilitate these atrocities. The State of Connecticut has an obligation now to review this business decision and to consider the viability of our choice to support Avelo,” Attorney General Tong states in the letter.

The letter seeks answers to the following questions no later than April 15, 2025.

1. Please provide a copy of Avelo’s contract that relates to its work for Department of Homeland Security, or its agent, contractor, or subcontractor.
2. Can Avelo confirm that it will not operate deportation flights from any Connecticut airport?
3. Can Avelo confirm that it will never operate flights while non-violent passengers are in shackles, handcuffs, waist chains and/or leg irons and unable to safely evacuate in the event of an emergency?
4. Should restraint be necessary for a specific individual to protect public safety, can Avelo confirm that it will never operate a flight without a safe and timely evacuation strategy for all passengers?
5. Can Avelo confirm it will never operate flights with shackled children?
6. On Saturday, March 15, a federal judge ordered the immediate return of a deportation flight destined for El Salvador operated by GlobalX. The Trump Administration refused to comply. Can Avelo confirm that it will never operate deportation flights in defiance of such court orders?
7. Can Avelo confirm it will never operate a deportation flight involving passengers for whom there is no valid order of removal?
8. Can Avelo confirm that it will never operate a flight to deport a child born on American soil?

If I were the head of Avelo Airlines and received a letter like this, I would respectfully stop all flights out of Connecticut and sue the Attorney General for economic damages due to his baseless accusations rather respond to this letter. Does Mr. Tong believe he can stop legitimate interstate commerce in Connecticut based upon his own personal whim and whimsy? Does Mr. Tong advocate that illegal immigrants, especially criminals caught in illegal activities, remain in our country as free "citizens"?  Why does the illegal criminal have more rights that the victims of their crimes? Apparently, the Attorney General approves of the paid protestors picketing at Tweed New Haven airport against the "evil" profit earning Avelo Airlines.  Will he next march protestors out in front of jet planes in violation of the United States Constitution and its attendant Commerce Clause to stop air traffic? Given the unhinged and out of control actions of Mr. Tong, none of that is far-fetched anymore. However, in fact and law, the protestors actions block legal Taxpayers from all states their right to choose Avelo Airlines for their transportation. But that is absolutely fine because the failed Democrat/Socialist gibberish and its resulting oppression is much more important to Tong than those useless "laws" and legal citizens" he chooses to ignore in "Sovereign" Connecticut.

Would you like some butter for your toast? Let us not forget abortion and as to how it helps drive Connecticut's economy. For in this vein Tong wants Planned Parenthood fully funded. '“There is no role for partisan pandering and interference when it comes to our healthcare. Abortion and contraception are safe, legal, and accessible in Connecticut, and we’re not about to let Donald Trump change that. This cruel act seeks to abruptly deny healthcare to tens of thousands of women and patients across our state, and we stand with Planned Parenthood to fight back,” said Attorney General Tong. " (https://portal.ct.gov/ag/press-releases/2025-press-releases/attorney-general-tong-statement-regarding-trump-attack-on-planned-parenthood-of-southern-new-england).

Any sane person would question as to why Connecticut Taxpayers must fund Planned Parenthood through their tax monies when they have $57,330,020 in "net assets" in fiscal year 2023. (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/60263565). We know Connecticut wants to be the vacation state for abortions and funding must not be cut according to Tong. And to make things even more pathetic, Tong’s Boss Ned Lamont has made a public declaration to welcome any corporation in from any non-abortion friendly state and to financially assist them in their transition to abortion freedom! As of the time of this writing, no business has taken King Ned The Unaccountable up on his offer, leading me to believe that even those among us with the most vile disregard for innocent and helpless human life are not quite that deranged in order to buy into that insane and irrational offer.

Again, in review of the above letters, actions, rantings and his recent actions at rallies against President Trump and his policies, William Tong certainly does not represent the legal Connecticut Citizens and Taxpayers who are forced to foot the bill for his liberal, self-driven, narrow-minded and borderline insane and twisted political agenda.  A twisted agenda that leaves out any opposing views concerning green energy, Avelo Airlines, Pro-Life philosophies, boys playing in girls’ sports and anything else that Tong and his socialists disagree with. The Omnipotent One-Party Connecticut Democrat Party rule have made Connecticut an economic failure and disaster over the past thirty years and are poised to do more damage in recent days.

Connecticut's Democrat Attorney General William Tong is a failure in his hatred and rhetoric he spews on a day-to-day basis. He is an embarrassment and an insult to every legitimate taxpaying and legal citizen of the state of Connecticut. He needs to resign forthwith, and if he does not, both parties must demand his resignation forthwith with Republicans taking the lead.

The “Connecticut Way”: The Expressway To Failure and Unaccountability

Is there a lack of accountability in our government? Is there corruption in our government? Is there a lack of any acuity, honesty, and purposeful government in Connecticut? These are realistic questions that are continually avoided by our elected officials and are never genuinely investigated by our state run media. Moreover, when a crisis occurs, it is the usual parade of useless hearings, unaccountability, and circular finger pointing instead of responsibility being taken by the person/agency/commission responsible for it followed by restitution and (where justified), criminal charges. Because we have been told for many years that real accountability is not the “Connecticut Way,” a “Way” that has led to failure, financial ruin, bulbous deficits, a failed educational system, and ruined cities for five decades.

But there is always that “official” attempt to make one think Connecticut is on the job. Believe it or not, Connecticut has a "Government Fraud Section" apparently led by Democrat Attorney General William Tong.  Its mission statement is: "The Government Fraud Section protects Connecticut tax dollars from fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption. The Section investigates and litigates civil matters under the Connecticut False Claims Act and other laws. The Section develops cases independently and in conjunction with other state and federal law enforcement agencies and with state agencies that pay, directly or indirectly, for goods and services with Connecticut tax dollars. The Section investigates whistleblower complaints concerning state departments, state agencies, quasi-public agencies, and large state contracts. The Section also enforces Connecticut’s pension revocation or reduction laws when any public official or state or municipal employee is convicted of or pleads guilty or nolo contendere to any crime related to state or municipal office. The Section includes the Health Care Advocacy Unit, which provides advisory assistance to consumers who have health care related problems, particularly those that involve health insurance and managed care coverage denials. In addition, this Section also supports and advises the CT Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, which is an independent state body that advocates for residents of long-term care facilities." (https://portal.ct.gov/ag/sections/government-fraud/government-fraud). Kindly bear in mind that this is the same William Tong who has advocated for prima-facie tax, employment, and Federal law evasion in his embrace of illegal immigration. After reading this statement I wonder if Democrat Attorney General William Tong should turn himself in his self-appointed mission to both not cooperate with Federal officials to remove illegal immigrants in the state and failure to fully disclose the actual costs to Connecticut Taxpayers since his stated mission is to work with " federal law enforcement agencies and with state agencies that pay, directly or indirectly, for goods and services with Connecticut tax dollars"?

Keeping in the spirit of “The Connecticut Way,” this same commission was ostensibly omissive with the recent state audit of Connecticut's State Colleges and University as performed by the Auditors of Public Accounts.  As one example, Central Connecticut State University Chancellor Terrence Cheng, was reported in the audit to have been using his state credit card, being a Procurement card (“P-Card”), in the following manner: "Between July 1, 2021 and Oct. 24, 2024, Cheng charged $27,125 to his P-Card, with 70% of those for meals designated as business meetings...ordered a driving service on three occasions despite having a state-owned car and then later renegotiated his contract to get a vehicle stipend." (https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/audit-finds-cscu-executives-had-lax-attitude-expenses/3457803/).But why stop there? The report also found that "Charter Oak State College President Ed Kolonski used his card to pay for $497,062."  Comptroller Sean Scanlon, who in my opinion has limited abilities/experience in this political position decried these findings in his 18-page report (https://osc.ct.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/OSC_CSCU_Audit24_v5.pdf). Chancellor Terrence Cheng who is a Connecticut state employee earns a salary of $442,000 a year along with a $2,100 a month housing allowance and $48,759 in non-retirement fringe benefits (https://openpayroll.ct.gov/#!/year/2024/full_time_employees,otherspay1,pay2,pay3explore/0-0-0emplid_empl_rcd/103A097F0FCE960AA5B7A3AB4FFDB5A4/0-0-0/agency), apparently does not even live in Connecticut but rather in New York.

As found in the prior audit report: "The Chancellor lives in New York State and commutes to his office in Hartford. In 2021, he was provided with a state vehicle. In 2024, he returned that state vehicle and will instead receive a $24,000 annual car allowance." "The Chancellor had the use of a state vehicle from July 2021, through August 2024. In June of 2024, CSCU self-reported to the Auditors of Public Accounts for the State of Connecticut that discrepancies were found in the mileage reporting for the Chancellor’s assigned vehicle (page 11). Also even though he had a state vehicle for his use and a mileage expense the Chancellor "There was one charge for a car/driver service made on the Chancellor’s assigned P-Card. The charge was $490, including tip on November 20, 2022, for a trip from South Salem, NY to Stamford, CT. Additionally, a general review of transportation charges over $500 found two similar charges made to the President’s Office P-Card. On September 19, 2023, there was a trip from South Salem, NY with three stops in Hartford, a stop in Stamford, and drop off in South Salem, NY totaling $1,263.00. On October 25, 2023, there was a trip from Hartford, CT with stops in New Britain, Killingly, and drop off in Hartford totaling $784.00." (page 12).

The salaries and benefits of the Chancellor and top ranking University officials are astronomical on top of being a huge upraised middle finger to the hardworking legitimate citizens of Connecticut. Was there no one with any similar skills and abilities who could have been hired in the Non-Job as CCSU Chancellor who was a state resident? And why at that salary was he also afforded this kind of travel expense? Keep in mind that Connecticut public colleges have been cutting courses and raising tuition for years. But there is no desire whatsoever at the rotted top of the institutions to cut costs. Moreover, I wonder as an educator how these excessively high salaries and benefits benefit the college student in his or her education?

But if you have not had enough, I have some more. As my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo often says, if you like Peanut Butter, you will love Skippy! The skill-lacking Comptroller Sean Scanlon’s office lacked ‘sufficient’ controls and led to mistakes in life insurance payments. (https://www.hartfordbusiness.com/article/audit-unit-in-comptrollers-office-lacked-sufficient-controls-and-led-to-mistakes-in-life). Now understanding all these egregious failures of governance, if not failures in basic decency, why are there not fines, liens, charges, and calls for restitution of tax dollars? But honest accountability does not all speak of the “Connecticut Way” Spend ill-gotten resources, tax more, spend more, get a wrist slap (if that), promise to do better, get reassigned, and/or retire prematurely with full pension and benefits paid by the taxpayers. (THAT is the “Connecticut Way”).

And would it not be a wonderful world if every state legislator had to read, understand, and be quizzed on these state audits prior to being seated for the term and receiving their first paycheck? (But that is not the “Connecticut Way,” either).

But in any organization, the arrows of accountability always point to the top. So, to the rescue of us all springs Democrat Governor King Ned Lamont "The Unaccountable" who now calls for yet another taxpayer-paid audit and apparent "accountability" while telling the state vassals the Chancellor seems to be confused by his actions and “will do better next time.”  But why in a rational world should there even BE a next time? If Mr. Cheng were in private industry he would have been fired and had liens placed on his property for amounts owed and possibly criminally charged, but since Connecticut Taxpayers must pay for his errors, he has smooth sailing for his incredibly high and costly state pension. And just to remind Connecticut Taxpayers, we still have no answers to Ned Lamont's family hedge fund (Oak HC/FT Partners) and its involvement in state government, nor to their associated companies relating to the Covid-19 crisis include "Thermo Fisher Scientific", "Sema 4", " Core Infomatics", "Ocrulus", "Urjanet", "1life Healthcare", "Galileo Health", "Castlight Health", "Paladina Health", and "VillageMD" to name some as to the amount of profits they received via Connecticut taxpayers. Nor do we have no disclosure of how many of the Governors politically connected hacks have been getting no interest, no-pay back loans and grants funded by your tax dollars or 2% “sweetheart” loans for upwards of $15,000,000 given to Sema4 on the way to its “pump and dump” and colossal  taxpayer-paid, failure. But we are always certain to see that the wayward and unaccountable apples in the Kingdom of The Unaccountable do not fall far from the Royal Tree and he will not exact on others what he never exacts upon his own malfeasance.

But maybe there is at least one ray of hope! The Connecticut State Legislature was seated this past week. A group of people! Elected by the people. To do the people’s work. To ferret out fraud, waste, and abuse. To craft legislation to deal with the aforementioned abuses and draft severe penalties for noncompliance. To call for hearings with live public input and consequence. But it does not appear that this is the direction it is headed. (https://ctmirror.org/2025/01/08/ct-2025-legislative-session-opening-day/) .

But all this haze of unaccountable euphoria can be summed up in the words of 51st District State Representative Chris Stewart, a Republican and newly elected member of the state legislature who said that he liked what he heard to kick off this legislative session.

“Governor Lamont did a really good job,” Representative Stewart said. “One thing I’ve always admired about him is he tries to be levelheaded and makes sure he addresses the concerns and the issues from both sides of the aisle, Democrats and Republicans.”

That comment, Ladies, and Gentlemen, sadly speaks for itself.

The Attorney General. An Advocate For The People. (But, For Which People?)

Willam Tong (commonly known as “Bill Tong” before he assumed office in 2019), is the Attorney General of the State of Connecticut.

Many people often inquire about the role of the Attorney General, and in this connection, State of Connecticut manuals provide a clear description of his role.

“The Attorney General is the chief civil legal officer of the State of Connecticut. The Attorney General's Office (“AGO”) serves as legal counsel to all state agencies and acts to protect the public interest for the people of the State of Connecticut. Among the critical missions of the AGO are to represent and advocate the interests of the state and its citizens as vigorously as possible, to ensure that state government acts within the letter and spirit of the law, to ensure that public resources are protected for present and future generations, to ensure that the quality of life of all our citizens is preserved and enhanced, and to ensure that the rights of our most vulnerable citizens are safeguarded.

The Attorney General represents the state government, its elected officers, and state boards, commissions, and agencies in suits and other civil proceedings in which the state has an interest. The Attorney General also provides opinions to the agencies of state government, state officers, and the General Assembly upon questions of law submitted to him by such parties. The Attorney General also acts as counsel for state officials in matters pertaining to their official duties. The Attorney General has a role in screening regulations of state agencies, state contracts, and extradition papers.

By virtue of this statutory responsibility to provide legal direction to state government, the Attorney General is in a critical position to advise all segments of the government so that they can carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the law.

In addition, the Attorney General possesses extensive statutory powers that enable him to represent the public interest more generally.

The Attorney General is elected by the people to a term of four years, is committed by law to serving full-time, and must be an attorney-at-law who has been admitted to practice in Connecticut for at least ten years. The Attorney General receives an annual salary of $110,000."

However, like the Ford Motor Company said in advertisements of days long past, William Tong “Has a Better Idea” as to what the Attorney General’s role should be. At a December 5, 2024 anti-Donald Trump meeting at the Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services ("IRIS") meeting in New Haven, CT, William Tong tossed out the policy manual of the State of Connecticut and provided the following statements regarding his official function when it comes to defending the priority of rights of illegal aliens:

"But look, America runs on Dunkin and undocumented workers," said AG Tong. "And we need to remind everybody, okay, they're coming. Right? And one of the ways we can stop them as best we can is to speak out... and to remind everybody if you like strawberries and avocados, or hamburgers, right? Then, likely those strawberries, avocados and hamburger meat likely was packed not just by immigrant workers, but undocumented immigrant workers."

"Fifty percent. Fully half of farm workers and meat packing workers in this country are undocumented," continued AG Tong. "If you won't eat anything touched by an immigrant or undocumented workers' hand, you'll be pretty hungry." (https://connecticutcentinal.com/ct-ag-tong-says-america-runs-on-dunkin-and-undocumented-immigrants-claims-ct-would-be-toast-without-illegals-at-eye-opening-iris-event/).

Now to be fair, William Tong was joined at this meeting by several other like-minded officials such as Dr. Madeline Negron, Superintendent of New Haven Public Schools, Mayor Justin Elicker, and Chief of Police Kurt Jacobsen all promoting a sense of wariness, false hope, and comfort to those within the city illegally. But of particular interest is the Attorney General who tosses off a “fifty percent” of farm workers figure for justifying his support for lawbreaking. I wonder where he got the fifty percent figure? It is published somewhere that the Connecticut and American Taxpayers can read about it? Does this figure include also food produced and harvested in Connecticut? Does this publicly-funded employee or his family have financial interests in Dunkin Donuts? My good friend Tony De Angelo also discussed this meeting at length this past Tuesday 12/9 on the Lee Elci Show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2k-3zjT34Y) and on the 12/11 THIRTY WITH TONY video show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUaEO7ZKTw0&ab_channel=TonyDeAngelo%27sP.M.CoasttoCoast

In Tony’s segments, he asks the following question (in paraphrase): “I thought the job of the Attorney General was to protect tax compliant dopes like me from people operating illegally, paying no taxes, and abusing their workers.” And good question, indeed. Many are wondering how does this "defense" of illegal immigrants fit into the legality of Tong’s office according to his job description?  Doesn't Attorney General Tong have more pressing problems in the state? But his attacks echo the spirit of a liberal activist Democrat Attorney General who somehow creates new law expositions and evaluations that will coincide with the twisted and wretched Democrat Party narrative.

Another such episode can be seen in Tong's absurd and inane lawsuit  where in 2020, he filed a lawsuit against Exxon/Mobil alleging that "ExxonMobil has orchestrated an ongoing, systematic campaign of lies and deception” to hide from the public that burning fossil fuels contributes to climate change. (https://www.manifest.co.uk/exxonmobil-to-go-to-court-over-climate-deception-lawsuit/). From that same article he also stated: ExxonMobil “knew decades ago that the release of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, when fossil fuels are combusted, was a substantial factor in causing global warming.” Tong claimed ExxonMobil knew as early as the 1950s and 1960s that the company’s activities were contributing to climate change and said by the early 1980s it was able to predict “the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the corresponding temperature increase for the year 2020”.

I am curious that Attorney General Tong knew that much about "global warming" before he was born and where his facts came from? But tossing unsupported statistics is how he rolls, much like many of his state peers. He is merely following the blueprint as to how to financially shake down a company for political purposes (just like Senator Blumenthal did for almost 20 years as Attorney General). I wonder what would happen if Exxon/Mobil agreed to close their over 40 gas/diesel stations in Connecticut to settle this malicious suit?  What would the economic impact to the state in lost taxes, jobs and the like be? Could people shop for groceries, go to medical appointments, and go to school and to work to pay exorbitant Connecticut taxes without using these evil fossil fuels? And why does Attorney General Tong since his birth continue to use these evil fossil fuels?  But of course, there is zero-accountability in Connecticut where its not about what is compliant and coherent, but rather it is about what is convenient and confused at this moment in order to establish an Alinsky-esque twisted political goal.

But wait! There's More! Another critical issue that Connecticut Taxpayers will be funding thanks to Attorney General Tong is an "abortion hotline". This was created with no public consent by the State legislature with the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation. "Connecticut has seen firsthand what happens when we mobilize and organize at the state level: electing pro-choice majorities in the State House and State Senate, passing laws that expand access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care, and most recently, implementing the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, one of the first shield laws successfully passed post-Dobbs to protect providers and those seeking care in Connecticut. Reproductive Equity Now is excited to expand the capacity of advocates in Connecticut and build a regional powerhouse for abortion access. We strongly believe that Connecticut is key to making New England a regional block for abortion access. With protection for providers on the books, in addition to digital privacy laws to protect the location and information of people accessing care in the state, Connecticut is a place where people can feel safe and protected when traveling to access compassionate care. But there is still work to do to break down barriers to reproductive health care, especially for Black, brown, LGBTQ+, and young people. We’re growing our team and we’re expanding our capacity to think even bigger and bolder when it comes to passing reproductive equity legislation in the state. If you read this organizations legislative agenda, it falls into line with what the liberal Connecticut Democrat Party agenda on abortion on demand, health care for immigrants through the "Husky 4 Immigrants Coalition and more. (https://reproequitynow.org/connecticut-legislative-agenda)

In review of the three stated crusades above, the operative question then becomes: who does Connecticut's Democrat Attorney General William Tong really represent and work for? Illegals? Tax cheating businesses? Irrational Green New Deal idealogues? Pro-abortion advocates wanting innocent taxpayers to consistently pay for their bad choices? In review of the above, William Tong certainly does not represent the legal Connecticut Citizens and Taxpayers who are forced to foot the bill for his liberal, self-driven, narrow-minded and twisted political agenda. He threw away the mission statement in his approach to the OAG. He seems to a big part of the Omnipotent One-Party Connecticut Democrat Party rule which is vital to propping up the last gasps of socialism that have made Connecticut an economic failure and disaster over the past thirty years. Connecticut's Democrat Attorney General William Tong is yet another extreme failure in his misguided gibberish that defines a political manifesto that does not work or is wanted any more. Once again, honest, compliant, and taxpaying citizen, be damned.
