Connecticut's Pork of HB 7066-To the Victims: You Will Be Spoiled

As we discussed last week (and in drawing on the great Mark Twain) Connecticut Taxpayers are never, ever safe with the Democrat State legislature in session. Needless to say, there are no checks and balances to state government since Connecticut is ruled and driven with a hard, liberal fist of Connecticut Democrat Party socialism.  More evidence of this citizen-be-damned rule can be seen in one of the most incoherent bills seen in a long time: HB 7066 "An Act Concerning Interactions Between School Personnel And Immigration Authorities, The Purchase And Operation Of Certain Drones, Grants To Certain Nonprofit Organizations, And Student Athlete Compensation Through Endorsement Contracts And Revenue Sharing Agreements."  This catchy, feel good, political glad-handing and payoff bill is an excellent example of why both the Connecticut State Legislature and Connecticut's State Government is broken beyond repair. (https://legiscan.com/CT/text/HB07066/2025)

This bill (“bill”) spends over $2.88 million dollars of Connecticut Taxpayers monies on a variety of "feel good" and "politically correct" nonprofits and organizations having no benefit to the hardworking and taxpaying legitimate citizen. In a note of hope for the future, the bill's funding was somehow cut/reduced by DOGE or the "evil" Republicans such as Republican President Trump. The bill makes a stew of incoherent issues such as making foreign made drones illegal, procedures to ignore Federal laws regarding illegal immigration, and making sure student athletes especially at the University of Connecticut, (aka “U-Conned”) can get paid ridiculous amounts of money for playing a college sport. The bill itself is a gourmet feast of pork, political art, and incoherence at its worst.

As just one example, $800,000 is included in this bill for “Planned Parenthood of Southern New England”.  Planned Parenthood of Southern New England's President and CEO Amanda Skinner earned $434,095 and $18,574 in "other" compensation in fiscal year 2023. This organization also has $57,330,020 in "net assets" in fiscal year 2023. (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/60263565). Thus, one may assume that without this $800,000 from Connecticut Taxpayers that Planned Parenthood of Southern New England will either go out of business and or President and CEO Amanda Skinner would have to take a pay cut or have her position eliminated. Why is this $800,000 so critical to the operation of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England? Did any of the “talented public servants” in the Connecticut State Legislature bother to perform the simple five-minute analysis that I just did that would reflect this money is simply not needed? Did any of these same people question the salary paid to Amanda Skinner prior to the grant from the bill? Or does anyone there even care as to how they spend your tax money? (Why should we even bother to ask such a nonsensical question)

But wait! There is more!! Adding further insult to the Connecticut Taxpayer are grants to more than twenty nonprofit organizations. These include $62,500 to the “Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants, Inc.” The President and CEO of the “Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants, Inc.,” Susan Schnitzer, made $108,355 in salary and $12,130 in "other" compensation for fiscal year 2023.  This organization also has $1,684,033 in "net assets" in fiscal year 2023. (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/60669118). Thus, one may assume that without this $62,500 from Connecticut Taxpayers that they either will go out of business and or President and CEO Susan Schnitzer would have to take a pay cut. Why is this $62,500 so critical to their operation? Is any part of this funding to be expended in support of illegal immigration? Are you curious about this? (If you are, do not bother asking a legislator, as we can be absolutely sure none of them asked this question when the grant was contemplated or thereafter).

Also included for free cash is the “Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, Inc.” which will receive $225,000. Then-Executive Director Chris George of the Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, Inc. made $122,987 in salary and $11,033 in "other" compensation for fiscal year 2023. This organization also has $4,864,659 in "net assets" in fiscal year 2023. (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/60653044). Thus, one may assume that without this $225,000 from Connecticut Taxpayers, Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, Inc. will either go out of business and/or the successor of Executive Director Chris George would have to take a pay cut. Why is this $225,000 so critical to their operation? Will any part of this funding be used in the encouragement of illegal alien voting? It is known that in 2023, Chris George wrote on the site about his post-retirement plans being the “strengthening our democracy by working on voter registration and voter turnout.” Does this not provoke your curiosity? Does Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, Inc. have any involvement with illegal voter registration? Are they working on the up-and-up, or to the contrary? Will anyone in the Legislature ever ask the right questions or exercise fiscal governance in the least?

HB 7066 was deemed as an "Emergency Certification” bill. This legislative maneuver (which should deemed illegal) is used to fast-track legislation without vetting by legislative process, such as public hearings. The legislative process is made deliberately difficult to research and to understand by Connecticut Taxpayers to facilitate the repeated financial rape of them. Most certainly it is meant to be that way, and it is made excessively complex to push through junk bills like HB7066 that give the distinct appearance of payoffs and show an arrogant disagreement with Federal policies that Connecticut must now follow. For we know, garbage legislation  suits the political needs of the Connecticut Democrat Party and its sycophants’ supplicants, toadies, flunkies, and lackeys, (and who gives a rip-roaring red apple about you, anyway?)

Moreover, how does this over $2.88 million dollars in "emergency certification” apply to Connecticut's venerated and celebrated "fiscal guardrails"? This is just another lie circulating in Connecticut's corrupt Legislature. The fiscal horrors of Connecticut are not discussed by either party. Connecticut's short- and long-term debt along with its unfunded liabilities is roughly $100 to $150 billion dollars. There is no plan whatsoever to resolve this fiscal tsunami and nightmare for Connecticut Taxpayers which deficit the "guardrails" do not touch. But holding on to false or incomplete fiscal ideals while blithely handing out money to cronies and twisted idealist and secretive projects is a Connecticut hallmark. And one really must question the amount of money given to "non-profits" especially in Connecticut.  Connecticut taxpayers seem to have no say in their government that they pay for nor are they allowed public comment especially for spending bills such as HB7066.

And as usual Connecticut Taxpayers keep getting financially raped. The Connecticut of dodgy and questionable nonprofits and pilfering college leaders inter-alia continues unabated with the only hope of curtailing the same will be cutoffs in Federal funding.

But rest assured, Connecticut will continue to soldier on to fiscal Armageddon with new heights in citizen disregard and crony-feeding. The Connecticut Democrat Party will make sure of that premise, ad infinitum, and forevermore.

Bills, Laws And Destruction: The Connecticut Legislative Session of 2025

It has been said by many citizens and legal professionals that the General Statutes of Connecticut are among the most difficult state statutes to understand, adding needless confusion to many everyday issues. Connecticut has a long legal history, with statutes dating back to 1650, which means there is a significant amount of legal tradition and layering that make current laws complex and difficult. For instance, the General Statutes of Connecticut have been through numerous revisions, the most recent major one in 1958, with regular updates since then. This accumulation over time adds to the intricacy of the legal code. I do know that the State Statues consist of thirteen volumes and 978 chapters with thousands upon thousands of statues, rules, and regulations.  And. as is often said in Connecticut, the state laws are written for the state, by the state, on behalf of the state. And how many laws exist is anyone’s guess. (https://www.cga.ct.gov/current/pub/titles.htm).

To give you an idea, the Connecticut legislature has introduced over 34,442 bills from 2010 to 2025. Of that amount only a few passed every year since there is no conceivable way that all 34,442 bills were read completely.  (https://legiscan.com/CT/). It is also interesting to comprehend the amount of actual laws that have eroded personal and economic freedoms in the state while the state continues its protracted economic and social downward spiral starting since the enactment of the law creating the State Income Tax back in August 1991. This tax was supposed to resolve all the state's financial issues and would lead Connecticut to economic vibrancy that was Utopian in nature and did nothing more than to drive it into reckless spending and fiscal ruin.

But the farcical and shameful status of Connecticut on the world’s stage continues. Despite the almost parrot-like repetition that maintaining the “fiscal guardrails” will save the fiscal integrity of the state, not one elected official acknowledges that Connecticut still has $100-$150 billion dollars in short- and long-term debt along with myriad unfunded liabilities accruing interest daily. And it ranks in the bottom five states in the country with the highest taxes, poor business climate conditions, and the highest electricity rates in the country. Moreover to add some icing to a sickening cake, Connecticut made National News this week with Democrat United States Senator Richard (“Stolen Valor”) Blumenthal questioning Secretary of Defense Nominee (and Combat Veteran) Pete Hegseth on his nomination thus invoking the ire of national news personalities, most notably radio host Mike Gallagher, who called Connecticut voters “stupid” in front of millions of listeners for voting for such a sham as Dick Blumenthal.

But if you are a Connecticut legislator, the more irrational, unhinged, and delusional you are, the more attention you will receive for some of the worst law proposals ever to be penned to paper. Rest assured that in 2025 the Legislature is in full force introducing many such bills. Here are a few your legislators feel are essential to the state:

(Senate Bill) SB00718 is "To prohibit the issuance of a drive-only motor vehicle operator's license to a person who cannot provide proof of legal United States residency or a Social Security number."  This bill implies drivers’ licenses for illegal immigrants in the state.

SB00523 "AN ACT CONCERNING THE CURATION AND RETENTION OF LITERARY MATERIALS CONTAINED IN PUBLIC AND SCHOOL LIBRARIES AND LEGAL PROTECTIONS AFFORDED TO LIBRARIANS AND STAFF WORKING IN SUCH LIBRARIES. To protect state residents by prohibiting public and school libraries from censoring the most sick and pornographic books and providing librarians and other library staff members with legal protections, including immunity from criminal and civil liability, for carrying out work-related duties in accordance with state law."  Thus, any type of questionable book including what amounts to being pornography for children is allowable in a school library and that librarians have legal immunity from any consequences of their actions in keeping those books in their library. Further as my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo pointed out this week on 94.9’s “Lee Elci Show” (https://www.949newsnow.com/) this bill allows a legally immune library worker to sue a rightfully complaining parent on the grounds of “causing emotional distress”, thus putting their livelihood and property at legal risk. This bill should sicken every parent in the state let alone the long-silent CT GOP who should be demanding that sponsor Democrat Senator Bob Duff read the texts of several of these so-called works into the official record in addition to being a national star on "Libs Of Tik Tok" as he parades around with this Bill. But more seriously, it is interesting to note that police in the state are not afforded the same immunity in their life-or-death actions since HB6004 from 2020 was passed. This bill limits qualified immunity for police officers in the state. This bill gave Connecticut the sobriquet "Crime Free Democrat Connecticut". since there is now rampant crime, rampant theft, and little prosecution of juvenile crime and or career criminals contrary to what the Connecticut Democrat Party wants you to believe.   Police, in the opinion of many in the state, are not able to do the job for which they were hired.

But right or wrong or decent of indecent, Democrat lunatics can pass whatever laws they wish since the Connecticut Democrat Party has a super majority in the State House and Senate. They will be able to push through bills with ease at any time day or night. And there is never an accounting for what laws would really matter to the taxpaying public. As one example, King Governor Ned Lamont The Unaccountable somehow is positioning himself to lower electric rates with an imbalanced magical formula that will never be able to appease the green energy cartel that runs the state's energy policy even if it were the least bit workable. The minority Republicans have offered SB647 "An Act Concerning Protections For Consumer Access To Affordable Electricity." This bill attempts to: "To reduce energy costs and increase energy supply."(https://legiscan.com/CT/bill/SB00647/2025). The Republicans have offered HB5356 "To discontinue the state's use of California vehicle emission standards and establish the state's use of such standards established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency."  This bill will tie to rational Trump based energy policy rather than California's economically unobtainable and laughable standards. I am confident that the Connecticut Democrat Party will eliminate all efforts to put forth these Republican bills, regardless of the soundness of any proposed policies contained in them.

With the hundreds of bills being introduced in Hartford I see nothing that addresses the massive fiscal debt of the state but I do see more pie-in-the-sky lunacy. The Democrat irrationality is so pervasive that there is a bill that was introduced to protect the legal rights of girls playing sports prohibiting biological males on their teams and from them using their bathrooms, being HB5352, a Republican sponsored bill "An Act Prohibiting Students Who Are Biological Males From Competing On Female-only Athletic Teams And Using Female-only Locker Rooms And Facilities."(https://legiscan.com/CT/bill/HB05352/2025). Can you imagine that a bill like this actually has to be brought forth to protect girls in our public schools? Yet this is Connecticut in 2025.

But fear not! There is hope! There has been a bill introduced HB5335 stating “That section 46b-21 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit marriage between first cousins. Statement of Purpose: To prohibit marriage between first cousins."(https://legiscan.com/CT/text/HB05335/2025). To me that summarizes the lost state of Connecticut for I did not realize that was such an issue in the state needing an actual bill to prevent it.

But sick as that may be, the state has no problem with porn in school libraries, corruption in its elections, massive runaway debt, legal cannabis, and many more failed liberal experiments. Connecticut never changes and hope fades quickly for those who wish the Connecticut Democrat Party would stop its destruction of the once "Constitution State" to feed its sick, progressive, and destructive demons.

The Attorney General. An Advocate For The People. (But, For Which People?)

Willam Tong (commonly known as “Bill Tong” before he assumed office in 2019), is the Attorney General of the State of Connecticut.

Many people often inquire about the role of the Attorney General, and in this connection, State of Connecticut manuals provide a clear description of his role.

“The Attorney General is the chief civil legal officer of the State of Connecticut. The Attorney General's Office (“AGO”) serves as legal counsel to all state agencies and acts to protect the public interest for the people of the State of Connecticut. Among the critical missions of the AGO are to represent and advocate the interests of the state and its citizens as vigorously as possible, to ensure that state government acts within the letter and spirit of the law, to ensure that public resources are protected for present and future generations, to ensure that the quality of life of all our citizens is preserved and enhanced, and to ensure that the rights of our most vulnerable citizens are safeguarded.

The Attorney General represents the state government, its elected officers, and state boards, commissions, and agencies in suits and other civil proceedings in which the state has an interest. The Attorney General also provides opinions to the agencies of state government, state officers, and the General Assembly upon questions of law submitted to him by such parties. The Attorney General also acts as counsel for state officials in matters pertaining to their official duties. The Attorney General has a role in screening regulations of state agencies, state contracts, and extradition papers.

By virtue of this statutory responsibility to provide legal direction to state government, the Attorney General is in a critical position to advise all segments of the government so that they can carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the law.

In addition, the Attorney General possesses extensive statutory powers that enable him to represent the public interest more generally.

The Attorney General is elected by the people to a term of four years, is committed by law to serving full-time, and must be an attorney-at-law who has been admitted to practice in Connecticut for at least ten years. The Attorney General receives an annual salary of $110,000."

However, like the Ford Motor Company said in advertisements of days long past, William Tong “Has a Better Idea” as to what the Attorney General’s role should be. At a December 5, 2024 anti-Donald Trump meeting at the Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services ("IRIS") meeting in New Haven, CT, William Tong tossed out the policy manual of the State of Connecticut and provided the following statements regarding his official function when it comes to defending the priority of rights of illegal aliens:

"But look, America runs on Dunkin and undocumented workers," said AG Tong. "And we need to remind everybody, okay, they're coming. Right? And one of the ways we can stop them as best we can is to speak out... and to remind everybody if you like strawberries and avocados, or hamburgers, right? Then, likely those strawberries, avocados and hamburger meat likely was packed not just by immigrant workers, but undocumented immigrant workers."

"Fifty percent. Fully half of farm workers and meat packing workers in this country are undocumented," continued AG Tong. "If you won't eat anything touched by an immigrant or undocumented workers' hand, you'll be pretty hungry." (https://connecticutcentinal.com/ct-ag-tong-says-america-runs-on-dunkin-and-undocumented-immigrants-claims-ct-would-be-toast-without-illegals-at-eye-opening-iris-event/).

Now to be fair, William Tong was joined at this meeting by several other like-minded officials such as Dr. Madeline Negron, Superintendent of New Haven Public Schools, Mayor Justin Elicker, and Chief of Police Kurt Jacobsen all promoting a sense of wariness, false hope, and comfort to those within the city illegally. But of particular interest is the Attorney General who tosses off a “fifty percent” of farm workers figure for justifying his support for lawbreaking. I wonder where he got the fifty percent figure? It is published somewhere that the Connecticut and American Taxpayers can read about it? Does this figure include also food produced and harvested in Connecticut? Does this publicly-funded employee or his family have financial interests in Dunkin Donuts? My good friend Tony De Angelo also discussed this meeting at length this past Tuesday 12/9 on the Lee Elci Show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2k-3zjT34Y) and on the 12/11 THIRTY WITH TONY video show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUaEO7ZKTw0&ab_channel=TonyDeAngelo%27sP.M.CoasttoCoast

In Tony’s segments, he asks the following question (in paraphrase): “I thought the job of the Attorney General was to protect tax compliant dopes like me from people operating illegally, paying no taxes, and abusing their workers.” And good question, indeed. Many are wondering how does this "defense" of illegal immigrants fit into the legality of Tong’s office according to his job description?  Doesn't Attorney General Tong have more pressing problems in the state? But his attacks echo the spirit of a liberal activist Democrat Attorney General who somehow creates new law expositions and evaluations that will coincide with the twisted and wretched Democrat Party narrative.

Another such episode can be seen in Tong's absurd and inane lawsuit  where in 2020, he filed a lawsuit against Exxon/Mobil alleging that "ExxonMobil has orchestrated an ongoing, systematic campaign of lies and deception” to hide from the public that burning fossil fuels contributes to climate change. (https://www.manifest.co.uk/exxonmobil-to-go-to-court-over-climate-deception-lawsuit/). From that same article he also stated: ExxonMobil “knew decades ago that the release of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, when fossil fuels are combusted, was a substantial factor in causing global warming.” Tong claimed ExxonMobil knew as early as the 1950s and 1960s that the company’s activities were contributing to climate change and said by the early 1980s it was able to predict “the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the corresponding temperature increase for the year 2020”.

I am curious that Attorney General Tong knew that much about "global warming" before he was born and where his facts came from? But tossing unsupported statistics is how he rolls, much like many of his state peers. He is merely following the blueprint as to how to financially shake down a company for political purposes (just like Senator Blumenthal did for almost 20 years as Attorney General). I wonder what would happen if Exxon/Mobil agreed to close their over 40 gas/diesel stations in Connecticut to settle this malicious suit?  What would the economic impact to the state in lost taxes, jobs and the like be? Could people shop for groceries, go to medical appointments, and go to school and to work to pay exorbitant Connecticut taxes without using these evil fossil fuels? And why does Attorney General Tong since his birth continue to use these evil fossil fuels?  But of course, there is zero-accountability in Connecticut where its not about what is compliant and coherent, but rather it is about what is convenient and confused at this moment in order to establish an Alinsky-esque twisted political goal.

But wait! There's More! Another critical issue that Connecticut Taxpayers will be funding thanks to Attorney General Tong is an "abortion hotline". This was created with no public consent by the State legislature with the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation. "Connecticut has seen firsthand what happens when we mobilize and organize at the state level: electing pro-choice majorities in the State House and State Senate, passing laws that expand access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care, and most recently, implementing the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, one of the first shield laws successfully passed post-Dobbs to protect providers and those seeking care in Connecticut. Reproductive Equity Now is excited to expand the capacity of advocates in Connecticut and build a regional powerhouse for abortion access. We strongly believe that Connecticut is key to making New England a regional block for abortion access. With protection for providers on the books, in addition to digital privacy laws to protect the location and information of people accessing care in the state, Connecticut is a place where people can feel safe and protected when traveling to access compassionate care. But there is still work to do to break down barriers to reproductive health care, especially for Black, brown, LGBTQ+, and young people. We’re growing our team and we’re expanding our capacity to think even bigger and bolder when it comes to passing reproductive equity legislation in the state. (https://reproequitynow.org/connecticut)

If you read this organizations legislative agenda, it falls into line with what the liberal Connecticut Democrat Party agenda on abortion on demand, health care for immigrants through the "Husky 4 Immigrants Coalition and more. (https://reproequitynow.org/connecticut-legislative-agenda)

In review of the three stated crusades above, the operative question then becomes: who does Connecticut's Democrat Attorney General William Tong really represent and work for? Illegals? Tax cheating businesses? Irrational Green New Deal idealogues? Pro-abortion advocates wanting innocent taxpayers to consistently pay for their bad choices? In review of the above, William Tong certainly does not represent the legal Connecticut Citizens and Taxpayers who are forced to foot the bill for his liberal, self-driven, narrow-minded and twisted political agenda. He threw away the mission statement in his approach to the OAG. He seems to a big part of the Omnipotent One-Party Connecticut Democrat Party rule which is vital to propping up the last gasps of socialism that have made Connecticut an economic failure and disaster over the past thirty years. Connecticut's Democrat Attorney General William Tong is yet another extreme failure in his misguided gibberish that defines a political manifesto that does not work or is wanted any more. Once again, honest, compliant, and taxpaying citizen, be damned.

We’re Number 50! - The Democrat Victory Of Making Connecticut The Most Financially Troubled State In The Union

There seems to be no limit to the gutters that Connecticut continually falls into. Rampant corruption. Condoned (if not coddled) illegal immigration. Free tuition and healthcare for these same illegals. State senators destroy public property without a demand for prosecution from either political party. Other legislators drive drunk, flip cars and/or abuse substances, even while making laws. However, if that is not wretched enough for you, there is worse news for Connecticut Taxpayers. The State of Connecticut is pretty much broke. Yes, you read that correctly. Broke. Tapped out. Busted. On the Breadline.

Again, I repeat: The State of Connecticut is pretty much broke.

How has this happened, do you ask? Easy. It has been the usual “what, me worry?” posture in the land of Nutmeg for any semblance of fiscal governance. The election that took place a few weeks ago rewarded the fiscally illiterate Connecticut Democrat Party even more power for their inept fiscal mismanagement of the state. But how can this be possible in light of easy to find public sources? A recent “2024 Financial State of the States Report” (“report”) issued by the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, ranked Connecticut at the complete bottom of their report at #50 out of 50 states giving the state a "F" for their finances based on 2023 results. The report which I urge all to read can be found at https://www.truthinaccounting.org/library/doclib/Financial-State-of-the-States-2024.pdf.
To make a dire situation even worse, Connecticut is ranked at the bottom of all "Sinkhole" states. This reference to a “Sinkhole" means that all state taxpayers will owe a certain dollar amount to pay off the state's debt. The state does not have enough revenue and assets to pay its bills. For Connecticut it is a mere $44,300 each person (p.17 report). I have written for many years the issues of Connecticut's short- and long-term debt along with its unfunded liabilities at being $100 to $150 billion dollars, an astronomical amount for the state as small as Connecticut, only for me to be continually derided by many feel-good politicians. However, to show how deluded these politicians are, the report clearly breaks out the following grave issues concerning Connecticut: Unfunded Pension Benefits: $38,010,340,000. Unfunded Retiree Health Care Benefits: $17,091,549,000 (p.51 report). The mind-numbing figure of $64,897,085,000 is the actual debt that the state reports from its fiscal report, however over the years several budget items were taken off budget and as such are not counted towards this figure (p.51 report). That to me is called creative (if not fraudulent) accounting. It also may be noted that the "Government Finance Officers Association (“GFOA”), the standard for states to publish their annual reports is 180 days after the end of the fiscal year." (p.28 report) Connecticut took 271 days to file their report thus disregarding the GFOA guidelines that they are supposed to adhere to by law. But hey, it's Connecticut, where rules and laws do not matter anymore, if at all).

Unfortunately, the lack of fiscal acuity on the part of the Republican party has not provided any moments of consideration or pause over time thus making a bad situation even worse. As just one example, in this past election I heard no candidate on either side discussing the grievous state debt or this report. And this fiscally negligent attitude has gone on for years. For example, in 2023, Democrat State Comptroller (and fiscal genius) Sean Scanlon magically “saved millions of dollars” by re-amortizing the unfunded liability of the municipal pension fund from 17 to 25 years as both political parties cheered. But what did Mr. Scanlon do? He simply increased the amount of debt by deferring payment on the same, showing no conceptual understanding of present-value finance and the concept that a dollar will never be worth any more than it is today in the future. For, how does one save money when your debt is the same but now will take an additional eight years to pay off as it continues to accrue interest? Isn't the debt financed by interest paid? Or has that mysteriously been eliminated? How is this simply thoughtless move any different than continually making the minimum payment on your credit card and believing your debt will be paid off faster? But perhaps I am wrong, and Mr. Scanlon has the right idea! That said, why don’t we go about re-amortizing all of Connecticut's debt into 100-year notes? That way generation upon generation of Connecticut Taxpayers get to live their lives as indentured servants to the Connecticut Democrat Party and their fiscal inefficiencies and maladroitness. This idea might work so well that the Connecticut Democrat Party could then reinvent a modern-day system of serfdom and or a new form of economic slavery to the state's master political ruling elite by the issuing of these 100-year debt bonds. This new financial plan would work well with the party that wants unchecked illegal immigration, state-run media, controls on social media and free speech, redundant and functionally useless bureaucracies, and the encouragement of party “leaders” that harass and shame ordinary citizens while the opposing party never cries out for the censure or removal of these evil individuals. This is life as we know it in the nearly broke, vision-less, and morally bankrupt State of Connecticut.

Thus in 2024, Connecticut is no more resolving its debt crisis than in years passed. Thus in 2024, no one wearing a political uniform seems to care. This new report issued reconfirms many of the same problems that the state has had for years. Excessive state spending coupled with excessive state debt, fueled by “feel-good” politics at every turn. Connecticut continues to rank as a top five taxed state in the country. It continues to have massive financial issues no matter how King Governor Ned Lamont the Unaccountable, his should-be-abolished Department of Economic Development, and his faux-prop economic spokespeople such as Sean Scanlon try to spin it. For Connecticut to survive it must address its out-of-control spending and unchecked fiscal corruption that offer little in either comfort or results other than to those directly involved. Connecticut has massive problems with criminals and crime is running rampant. Connecticut has massive problems with illegal drug use and trafficking. Connecticut still has massive problems with its public schools that are more interested in indoctrination rather than teaching life skills and functional knowledge. Connecticut still has massive problems due to a skewed political system that is ripe with corruption as seen with the never-ending voter fraud in Bridgeport. Connecticut fiscal economic incentives are nothing more than the throwing of bribes to the politically connected. Moreover, Connecticut still has massive problems that truly need to be addressed for the last time.
But not the least of sorrows is that albatross of never-ending debt hanging on the shoulders of innocent Connecticut Taxpayers who toil daily in a dysfunctional state economy while the Connecticut Democrat Party moves blindly ahead without even the least criticism of this debt. But the solutions are simple. Cut spending and cut taxes. Learn the spelling of the word "governance" But that concept is always ignored in the wasteland of debt, in the state known as Connecticut, which is the paradise of unchecked and enabled Democrat Party led economic gibberish leading to ultimate collapse.

The Economic Farcical Clown Show Commonly Known As Connecticut

This past week, the poor, beleaguered taxpaying citizens of Connecticut were treated to the public sham and spectacle of the state’s leading political brain trust cursing and condemning supermarket operators for “price gouging”. Since just about every single one of these people has never done anything whatsoever in the realm of private-sector gainful employment, or can tell the difference between a profit and loss statement and a kite, it does not dawn upon them (or just about anyone in the Connecticut Legislature) that bad and foolish energy policy is the root cause of the majority of economic problems. All products and services are affected by fuel. Fuel costs money. Fuel costs increase expenses. Expenses impact prices. And as my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo often says, it's as simple as that, and just as difficult. And unfortunately, these concepts are much too difficult to comprehend for just about every elected official in the state.
Welcome to the pie-in-the-sky fintech-wind powered-climate-change-terrified Economic woke-liberal universe, where simple economic facts understood by high school business students are difficult to comprehend for many of the liberals/Democrats and Socialists in our country. We can see this from the complete economic failures of the pathetic, inept, and corrupt Biden Administration featuring runaway inflation, a failed green energy plan, excessive taxation, and a crippling $34 trillion dollar National Debt. As apples do not follow far from trees, let us now focus on the vast economic wasteland with an omnipotent one party Democrat-ruled government known as Connecticut, with socialistic pressure on legitimate businesses, high taxation, a loss of jobs, a poor and uncoordinated infrastructure, an imperious administrative state, excessive state mandates on its cities and towns, and the excessive economic costs of rampant and unchecked crime that the state does not wish to control and frequently explains away in its state-run media broadcasts.
As just about no legacy–reward the loyal with government jobs media outlet in Connecticut can be trusted with any consistent objectivity, one is forced to look outside of the state to find honest and objective information as to what is actually happening. In this connection, these economic facts were presented in the "2024 Rich States, Poor States ALEC-Laffer State Economic Competitiveness Index © 2024 American Legislative Exchange Council report". (https://alec.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/2024-17th-RSPS-State-Pages_WEB.pdf). This report presents pure and objective economic facts for all 50 states. When reading the report, one can see the differences between "liberal Blue states" and "conservative Red states". As a spoiler alert, Connecticut did badly in this survey. According to the ALEC-Laffer State Economic Outlook Rankings, 2024, Connecticut is ranked 40th out of 50 states that is based upon equal-weighting of each state’s rank in 15 policy variables for this category. Connecticut ranked 48th out of 50 states for the ALEC-Laffer State Economic Performance Rankings, from 2012-2022 based on its State Gross Domestic Product that measures cumulative growth over this time frame, since it was only 33.59%, its non-farm payroll employment showed a .91% growth over the same time frame, and its absolute domestic move-out of state rate reflected a loss of 181,117 people over the same time frame (https://alec.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/2024-17th-RSPS-State-Pages_WEB.pdf page 12).
Also, there is one horrible elephant in the state-run media newsroom that this veritable Ministry of Information does not want for you to focus on...Illegal Immigration. Just how many illegal migrants are being transported into the state? Credible reports from real citizens tell us of squatters and break-ins happening in formerly safe neighborhoods. Every bordering Blue State to Connecticut unabashedly admits its mismanagement and incompetence in not being able to stem the tide of the Biden open-border policy. But we have none of those issues in the Land of King Ned Lamont the Unaccountable! He keeps Connecticut safe! Much like he mismanaged Covid-19 while busily figuring out how he could rip off Pandemic money. After all, it's simply the best state to be in!
Regardless of the state-run media spin that Connecticut residents pay for with their tax dollars, even an unobservant observer can tell what is happening in the state by just living here from day to day. Connecticut is graced with high state and local taxes, a high minimum wage, a high debt service as a share of tax revenue along with it also not being a right to work state. Connecticut is perpetually in a recession of its own making. Connecticut is always at the bottom of most business and economic categories. Connecticut still has over $100 to $150 billion dollars in short- and long-term debt along with unfunded liabilities. Economic facts are difficult to accept to the economically illiterate Democrat Party at any level of government. Tax more, spend more, promise more, demand more, rule as dictators never compromising on anything at all especially economic issues is their platform. It is a platform that has failed miserably but is endorsed at all costs to the point of economic ruin.
As the above-mentioned report is proof of the failures of Democrat led states such as Connecticut, one really does not need it. Just venture a little way into the state and draw your own conclusions.

Break, Enter and Squat: Another Tool in The Liberal Toolbox To Help with The Manufactured Liberal Housing Crunch

Many brainwashed citizens in places like King Ned Lamont the Unaccountable’s Connecticut honestly believe the pap and claptrap that is thrown at them every day by state-run media sources. Talk to any one of them. They believe Covid-19 is still a pandemic and anyone walking around without a mask is a diseased murderer. They believe a demented shell of a man acting in the office of President of The United States and his acolyte Blue-State governors actually care about them and keep them safe, even though about every city in these states lies in dangerous drug-infested ruin and the U.S. borders are being trampled daily by illegal migrants in a veritable stampede. They believe that the “deep state” should be celebrated rather than investigated and dismantled. They believe that Donald J. Trump is a potential assassin of their very way of being and should in turn be assassinated if the opportunity came about. They believe no person entering the country without papers is (gasp!) “illegal”. They believe that climate change will kill us all in three years. They have felt this way since 1996. They believe there is an “affordable housing” crisis never surmising that housing of any sort is unaffordable without any market-level jobs, skills, and industries in their economically pitiful states. But most recently, they either look placidly ahead and/or turn the other way as illegal migrants and other freeloaders pry their way into legally owned homes and “squat” there, believing that these “not illegal” people just have to live somewhere. Further, regardless of the rights of others, you must be obedient and do God’s work and continue to give up your property for the greater good.
In this connection, I do not understand why private property is bad in our economy. I also do not understand why it can ever be right for someone else to take another person’s private property just because they can. What governmental agency has decided that? What non-elected bureaucrat determined that private property laws and rights needed to be disregarded? Why do “elected leaders” never make any sort of statement as to how this illegal taking will be stopped? Why do these same “elected leaders” such as The Unaccountable and his lieutenants run from the very question of if they would ever force homeowners to house migrants in their homes in a manufactured future "public health crisis?" Who really is behind all of this, as I and many others are curious as to how this new theft of personal freedoms allowed by the totally incompetent and incoherent Democrat Party of America came into being? A party that I must add is running on total disregard of any type of competency, coherency, personal freedom, responsibility and/or logic as the norms of our society. And also, a platform that continues to bankrupt America at all levels of government daily since the current Biden/Lamont Regimes have come into power.
If you own private property such as a house, trailer, or condominium, you own it as far as the law is concerned. How is it legal for a Democrat run New York City council to give over rights of home ownership to an illegal squatter after 30 days? We see that happening in the borough of Queens, NY right now with the owner of the property being arrested for trying to change the home’s locks as an illegal squatter sublet the owner’s house to unsuspecting people. (https://nypost.com/2024/03/20/us-news/suspected-squatter-in-1m-nyc-home-is-sublets-space-in-the-house-resident-says). This is sickening. Is this supposed to be law? Where (pray-tell) is the serially incompetent New York City Mayor Eric Adams in all of this? Also, what would an equally serial incompetent leader of your state or city do in an identical situation?
An unchecked and fully open border in Mexico has led to a Democrat-manufactured massive housing crisis and has caused for many illegal immigrants to figure out how easy it is to break, enter, and squat. For instance, a brazen illegal immigrant and Venezuelan national Leonel Moreno, who is near a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, said in a recent video that under US law “if a house is not inhabited, we can seize it.” (https://nypost.com/2024/03/21/us-news/tiktokker-tells-illegal-immigrants-how-to-invade-american-homes) Apparently, we are seeing the new normal that legal American taxpayers and citizens must embrace thanks to the totally incompetent and incoherent Democrat Party of America. Private property rights be damned except for the rights of the elite of the Democrat Party. It would be fascinating to see how quickly laws would change if an elite member of the Democrat Party's High Society had a squatter living in one their properties. The outrage of it all would hearken back to a time when illegal immigrants were bused to the Democrat Playground of Martha's Vineyard. But those same illegal immigrants can come and go as they please in Republican Texas and Florida. It is a sickening abuse of both our laws and personal freedoms to see this occur.
Break, enter and squat! A new way to welcome Joe Biden’s “Newcomers!” What can be better than this as squatters have more legal rights than the rightful owners of their confiscated property? This kernel in the Cracker Jack box of taxpayer-paid freebies is the re-election modus operandi of the failed Biden-Harris ticket. Both deserve to stand trial rather than being re-elected for the utter destruction they have helped to create in our country and our world. Joe Biden's 50-plus years in politics can only be seen by any rational person as complete nonperformance, neglect and dereliction of duty, regardless of where Joe Biden has been. However, he has been useful in gaming the system to help make money for his son and his family. And even in that, he has needed a lot of help from his relatives.
America was not founded on a system of lawlessness and a lack of ethics. But today America is totally unlike that, and the Democrat Party is both proud and smug of its accomplishment of failures. The Democrats will realize this reality come November as their lies and theft have disenfranchised the Taxpayers who will refuse to support it in 2025.

The Church: Just One More Vehicle For The Connecticut Democrat Government To Use Against The Taxpaying Citizens Of Connecticut

Holy Bible: Matthew Chapter 16, (Verses 18-20)

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Over two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ of Nazareth declared to the Apostle Peter his design and vision for the Christian church. This vision was founded under the design of the Jewish Temple in the Old Testament and brought forward by Jesus. The objective was for the church to be an anchor and support for the believer to learn, grow, to have fellowship with one other, and to learn about the power and authority God grants to every child and believer to be strong in independence and God’s grace. Even to this day, churches and religion still play an important part in our society.

However, for many churches in Connecticut there has been a major shift in their role and political beliefs even though there is a supposed separation from church and state in our country. The separation is a necessary firewall so that churches cannot taint the Gospel mission with political causes. But for some Connecticut churches today, this rule is no longer in the book. These churches have seared their consciences and have consumed the pitcher of Democrat Kool-Aid to embrace whatever partisan-ism, electioneering and socialism handed to them provided there is some Democrats waving taxpayer dollars. In many cases, complaints of these unscriptural and illegal practices are often met with shaming and derision directed most aggressively against others by the very churches “benefiting” from these same practices.

Unfortunately, the Democrat political machine (enabled if not encouraged by Republican silence in many cases) has found a whole new profit center in co-opting obeisant churches and destroying the integrity of their doctrine and the vision of Moses and Jesus. This new profit center is based upon massively importing and housing illegal immigrants into the U.S.A in exchange for seemingly plentiful government cash. This crisis has caused a great upheaval in what the role of the church has become in this Democrat debacle in Connecticut, and throughout our country.

Of course, inept Connecticut needs one more social crisis as much as General George Armstrong Custer needed more hostile Indians in the massacre of Little Big Horn in 1876. For in Connecticut, we are all too aware of the past 34 plus years with massive crime, massive illegal drug problems, massive homeless problems, and massive taxes and debt. Of course, these problems have compounded into the nightmare conditions the state has today. Churches have echoed their desires to help but their desires have been perverted in many cases to become appendages to the state and local governments as political tools attempting to address the problems that the same state and local governments have created and expanded on over the years. More money thrown at these problems to any observer seems to do nothing other than to exacerbate the problems and make them much worse.

Sadly, many Connecticut churches today have become even more useful appendages for the Democrat design to destroy Connecticut cities and towns by parroting the new Connecticut government mantra of affordable housing especially by destroying local zoning decisions and alternatively setting up state-controlled transit center hubs that will have supposed affordable housing developments which somehow will inexplicably create this housing heaven on earth. It is fascinating to see how much profit becomes involved as politically connected developers and glad-faced hangers-on are all clamoring for a cut of the action by hoping to strip away zoning laws from state towns and cities to promote this agenda. Seeing parallel visions of state cash, some state churches are offering use of their church campuses and land to house the homeless and/or the undocumented and illegal. While being lauded by the political machine for this apparently honorable and righteous act, the sometimes well-meaning but always misled church leaders quickly realize that whatever commitment they have had to their founding doctrine or plain old right and wrong must now be extinguished in order to maintain their allegiance as satellites to the Democrat political objective. Instead of the illegal harboring of illegals, I submit to the affected churches that if they followed their ordained doctrines, they would provide comfort to the afflicted while then proceeding to tell the authorities to return their people to their rightful lands. For to do otherwise is to completely disregard the value of their very doctrines of self-determination that provided incalculable benefit to their devoted flock over time along with providing the life to their initial founding.

Other than destroying their ordained mission, nothing whatsoever resolves the long-term problem of why housing is so expensive compared to incomes in the high taxed and poisonously regulated state of Connecticut. Nothing whatsoever proposed by these political characters solves the transit issues in the state nor does it make the state subsidized bus fleet any safer to use since there is rampant and unchecked crime on state buses. Recently a man was stabbed in Hartford recently on a Connecticut Transit bus (https://www.ctinsider.com/capitalregion/article/hartford-stabbing-ct-transit-bus-18688425.php). Is this stabbing an example of why one would want to move to these affordable housing hubs around transit centers that have been subsidized with Taxpayers monies? Isn't crime down in the state according to the Connecticut Democrat Party? Does not the state administrate better than anyone on the planet and know what is best for all?

Unfortunately, the State of Connecticut buying and bribing of the churches continues. The state recently offered $5,000,000 of your money for “places of worship” and non-profits to help with their security. Thus, rather than enforcing and/or increasing legal punishments and incarcerations for these same crimes, the state must use Taxpayers monies in a faux prop effort to “combat” these crimes. Unfortunately, this reliance on government rather than self and the principles that Jesus and the prophets gave us, churches are not safe havens for prayer and worship anymore, especially those churches who have subscribed to full-scale political sellouts. Also, rampant violence is now the norm for Jewish synagogues that have been recent targets of the new “chic” pro-Hamas and Palestine protestors. Why are Hamas terrorists being "worshiped" by liberals in general and why is hatred being taken out on innocent Jewish worshipers? Where are the politicians decrying this sectarian violence? Is terrorism now “woke”? Are assaults against those believing in the God of Israel, now “cool”?

Of course, as some churches stray farther from their doctrines and into the will of politicians, they become mere tools in “voter engagement” efforts. Now addicted to government cash, these churches act like trained dogs in ballot harvesting and carrying out government marching orders to obtain more governmental funding and cheap favors from politicians. The sham election in Bridgeport certainly comes to mind as those close to the ground in the city have explained how the bread is buttered there, and the mess is anything but pretty. The endorsements that convicted felon Mayor Ganim seem both ridiculous and sickening in nature especially after the voter fraud that took place during this and previous elections. Moreover, it is puzzling to me that I have not seen any Bridgeport clergy to date protest the ostensible lack of a free and fair election and self-determination for their parishioners and their city.

In 2024 our economy and societal norms are unraveled in every stratum of American life. The biblical Book of Timothy is being actualized this day in that truth is now a lie and lies are truth. Theft is acceptable, if not encouraged. Boys are now girls, and girls are now boys. One must accept beliefs that defy logic or be condemned and canceled by the ruling elite. The house of worship was designed by Moses and later by Jesus to be an escape to one's faith and well-being, nurturing spiritual strength, personal development and empowerment and guidance. However, some churches in King Ned Lamont The Unaccountable’s Connecticut are following paths to ruin and destruction by accepting moral and spiritual destruction in exchange for cash. The church and state need to separate again. The clergy must divorce itself from politicians. The church should not encourage illegal behavior in any way. Religious freedom need not be questioned or vilified. This path to destruction needs to stop today.

Reimagining Patriotism- The Embracing of Illegal Immigration

Over 7,000,000 immigrants have illegally come into the United States since the impaired and dysfunctional Democrat President Joe Biden has taken office. The rationale for this egregious disaster is unknown as to why the President wants open borders. Our country has been forced to take in this substantial number of illegal immigrants, and the consequences have been severe. In addition, there has been no comment from the Biden Administration regarding approximately 300,000 unaccompanied children that have been let in at the border and then reportedly placed with American sponsors. It is important to note that many of said children come to the United States through cartels, human smugglers, and coyotes. It is a well-known disregarded fact by the Biden Administration that parents will pay these perpetually evil actors a great deal of money to bring their children to our country. Unfortunately, many of these children unfortunately have been "lost" by our administratively incompetent U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Who were the children's sponsors? Were the sponsors investigated by the Department of Health and Human Services? Are the children now being abused, sold into sex trafficking, working in slave labor conditions, being held hostage, or dead? Why is the Biden Administration hiding this information? This Administration created the issue they need to address it. Ostensibly, it apparently is perfectly acceptable to abuse innocent children with the blessings of the Pathetic and Corrupt Biden Administration.
Where do over 7,000,000 immigrants that have come into the United States illegally live? As we can see in wholesome, well run, and Democrat-led sanctuary cities, illegals live anywhere they can possibly fit. Illegal migrants can be housed with American Taxpayers monies in tent cities, in motels and hotels, in public schools, and in community centers in poorer neighborhoods driving out peoples of color. But cracking under the weight of their own stupidity these same wholesome, well run, caring and Democrat led sanctuary cities are now asking for private citizens in the suburbs to sponsor and house illegal immigrants and families as their social act of patriotism. Further, King Ned Lamont The Unaccountable’s Connecticut is proud to host four sanctuary cities; New Haven, Hartford, New London and Windam. It is unknown how many of the current 7,000,000 immigrants can be found in these four cities and or throughout Connecticut. Apparently, there are over 113,000 undocumented immigrants in the state currently (if not more). How many more can the state hold? One wonders about the recent Connecticut uptick in crime along with the non-stop illegal drug crisis that is crippling the country and parts of Connecticut. It is interesting to point out this fact: "Between October 2022 and April 2023, Customs and Border Protection seized more than 17,000 lbs. of fentanyl at the southern border. In fact, from March of 2022 to March of 2023, CBP seized enough fentanyl to kill every single American 14 times over." (https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/biden-border-crisis). Fentanyl overdoses are the norm in 2024, with silence again from the Pathetic and Corrupt Biden Administration along with the complicit and inept Connecticut political establishment.
Of course, bad policy begins with the United States Congress. In this connection, the entire Connecticut Democrat Congressional delegation approves of over 7,000,000 immigrants that have come into the United States illegally. Many may wonder how many illegals are being housed by United States Senators Blumenthal and Murphy? Many may wonder how many illegals are being housed by United States Representatives DeLauro, Hayes, Himes, Larson and Courtney? Their silence is deafening through this crisis that the Pathetic and Corrupt Biden Administration has created. Maybe Democrat Senator Murphy would not be as lonely as he is apparently if he would just house some of the illegal migrants in his home. Or maybe Democrat Representative DeLauro could be a real role model and house some illegals in her mansion sized New Haven Sanctuary city home. I submit to the reader that these requests to our Connecticut Congressional delegation are apropos given their support and endorsement of their policies of illegal immigration.
Connecticut in a new legislative session and the illegal immigration crisis I am sure will be talked about and debated at length by the controlling state liberal Democrat Party. Meanwhile, the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution referencing power to the state should be sending fear and chills to every poor taxpaying resident of the State of Connecticut. Given the delusional and irrational nature of the Legislature, will decisions be made by Democrat and Democrat-Lite legislators to encourage (or compel) homeowners to house illegals in their homes under a self-perpetuated “Public Health Emergency?” Of course, more money is needed to house, feed, educate, and give medical care to these people. And after all, they have to live somewhere!
Maybe Republicans in the Connecticut Legislature could finally exhibit some much-needed courage against this onslaught and start calling out the Democrats for the nightmare they have created with the over 7,000,000 immigrants that have come into the United States illegally. Even so, I submit that every elected official of whatever persuasion should be asked repeatedly if he or she supports this new form of Patriotism in the form of voluntary or compulsory housing of illegals. For, what an absolute nightmare legal Americans must face daily with this Democrat Party manufactured crisis. And to add insult to injury what is the actual cost to American Taxpayers with this Democrat Party manufactured crisis? How many billions of dollars must be wasted?
Enough of this woke madness. Enough of illegal immigration. Enough of this garbage rhetoric being force fed to the American public by an incoherent Democrat Party and its enablers. Enough of the incoherent gibberish of failed socialism that the American public is supposed to embrace because of the power grab that the Democrat Party wants to make to take over our country and make it a totalitarian state. Legal immigration worked at one time in our country. But to the current insane and delusional people who rule the Democrat Party, anything legal should be shunned for their failed new country Utopia. It is time for this insanity to stop now or our country will not be a country anymore.

More Connecticut Democrat Socialist Bills On Tap. Distorted Voting. A Bill Of Rights?

As the march to the quintessential Socialist state continues in Connecticut, here are a few more observations on bills and laws that are currently being entertained by the Connecticut Democrat Party in Hartford this year.  Just when you thought it could not get any worse for Connecticut taxpayers it most certainly has with the incredible array of incoherent and illogical Democrat based contemplated bills that normally are rammed down the throats of Connecticut taxpayers.  It is difficult to even comprehend the sheer amount of laws that have been passed over the past 34 years which have taken away personal freedoms and embraced a Socialistic way of life for the state.  Again, this year is no exception except with respect to the audacious and brazen way they are presented by the Connecticut Democrat Party.

Voting and apparently more voting for the Connecticut Democrat Party seem to the focus of several bills currently considered in Hartford.  HB 5714 would allow for “incarcerated individuals to become electors and to vote”.  A new amendment to the state constitution (which is largely ignored by the Connecticut Democrat Party) through HJ-19 that would allow 16 year olds to vote.  Proposed Bill 5721 would allow "That Title 9 of the General Statutes be amended to provide for ten days of voting prior to the day of election, and establish the hours of voting during such ten days.  HB 5704 calls for mandatory voting by all registered voters or face the wrath of its government by requiring “a valid reason or be fined for not responding” when presented with a state government inquest.  HB 5712 would study the complexities of Ranked Choice Voting which in my opinion destroys your vote in an election.  Ranked choice voting is a complex system of forcing voters to rank all candidates in an election and eliminates plurality elections.  If a candidate does not get over 50% of the vote in this type of election then the lowest "ranked" candidate drops off the ballot and a second election takes place.  In that round if again no candidate gets over 50% of the vote, a third ballot takes place, etc.  How is this logical?  And how much will this now cost taxpayers?  How does this "help" Democracy?  There truly is a simple solution to our elections.  It is showing a photo ID to vote on an assigned election day with only voters that have registered in a prescribed time period prior to the election (not the same day) and allow one vote only for one candidate for an office, and more than one candidate up to the legal amount for elections that involve Town Councils, Board of Educations, and offices of that nature.  Strict Absentee voter guidelines must be followed.  Seems simple doesn't it? These bills turn voting into more incoherent Democrat Party gibberish.

English, apparently at one time the unified language of our country and its states, is now insignificant.  New House Bill 6663, forced on the state by Governor Ned Lamont is a "Bill of Rights" for non-English speaking parents in the state and also allows for, "The right of an English learner student to attend a public school in the state regardless of such student's immigration status or the immigration status of such student's parent or guardian;" and also "The right of a parent or guardian of an English learner student to enroll such student in a public school without being required to submit immigration documentation, including, but not limited to, a Social Security number, visa documentation or proof of citizenship;". In reading this bill there is no mention whatsoever of the non-English speaking student being required to learn English so that they are able to speak the language as well as their native language.  I wonder how much this will cost Connecticut Taxpayers to hire all of these new translators for Connecticut schools?  I thought the English language is the foundation of our country?  My grandparents when they legally immigrated to our country many years ago were forced to learn the language to assimilate into their new country.  Why is it so different in 2023?  What has changed to allow for this?

I really wonder what happened to the "rights" of the Connecticut Taxpayers who are forced to accept these socialistic based rules year-in and year-out, and laws that redefine to the Democrat Party's liking and approval as to what can and can not be allowed in the state.  The proposals this year make a complete mockery of the voting process and further erode any sense of respect or belief that we have a legal and coherent state government.  How can one believe in this type of government?  A state government that continues to cater to a ruling political elite who really now seems to only be concerned with their deadening grip on power and their corrupted political system.  It continues to ruin Connecticut.  It is unchecked.  This legislative session has shown the utter disregard its elected officials have on the legal citizens of the state.  And it is 1776 all over again.

Swick Speak's 2022 Christmas List For America

It is the Christmas season.  And it is time for the Swick Speak Christmas list.  A list of gifts that I hope America gets this year.  It is a tough list, as the majority of Americans dislike the direction that America has taken since a failing, feeble and incoherent Democrat President Joe Biden and his incompetent administration took over in 2021.  And Joe Biden will rank as one of the bottom five worse Presidents that our country has ever had once he is mercifully gone from office.

Here we go:

1. Americans want a closed and secure border around their country.  They do not want a free flow of illegal immigrants coming into their country, contrary to what the Democrat Party wants to see.  They do not want drug cartels, murderers, human traffickers, and terrorists coming into our country by the millions.  They want a closed border with legal limited immigration.

2. Americans want the energy independence that they had under President Trump.  They want all of the Keystone pipelines to be opened and flowing providing energy to our country at reasonable prices.  They do not want American dollars to be flowing to OPEC countries and the regime of Venezuela to support these countries and increasing our bloated balance of trade deficits.  They do not want to have the Strategic Petroleum Reserve drained to buy votes for the Democrat Party but to be used in a real emergency.  They want a realistic time frame to see if and when green energy becomes economically viable and functional for the country.  They want stable electric prices.  They want lower heating oil prices and a dependable supply of heating oil to heat their homes.  They want American energy sources to be used and supplied to our country.

3. Americans want an end to the Democrat induced runaway inflation of the past two years.  They want an end to the endless supply chain crisis that makes our store shelves look like 1970's Russia.  They want an end to the endless spending of Taxpayer dollars by all levels of government to pay people not to work and not to be productive in our economy.  They want price stability and to be able choose and buy American products in their stores.  They want solutions to the nation's debt crisis that our elected officials have created by their reckless spending on failed programs and the continual propping up of political hacks and serial incompetents at all levels of government.

4. Americans want an end to unchecked crime, theft and murders in our country.  They want a functioning set of laws that are adhered to and enforced for everyone.  They do not want laws that no longer prosecute thieves for only stealing $1,000 or less in products from stores.  They want private property rights to be restored and laws that allow for private property rights to be enforced.  They do not want their cars to be stolen in broad daylight when pumping gas.  They want a legal system that prosecutes criminals and not make victims of crime be treated as the criminal.  Americans want an end to the current deluded bleeding heart liberalism of making these transgressions be accepted as normal and right.

5. Americans want a public education system that once again teaches our youth real subject matter that will provide the skills essential to them to earn a living in the future.  They reject the complete brainwashing that is currently going on in the classroom with a failed, woke, and incomprehensible curriculum of gender identity, sex changes at an early age, incoherent life styles and a rejection of parental guidance and love in their lives.  Parents are responsible for their children, and not a public education system full of deceptions, distortions, and lies.  They want educators to teach not campaign nor indoctrinate.

6. Americans want an end to the corruption of Federal, State and Local governments.  Americans want an end to being slaves to government at all levels by the waste and misuse of Taxpayer's hard earned monies.  They no longer want to pay for Taxpayer funded programs that secretly channel money to political allies, political donors, and family friends.  They want honesty, transparency, and truth to be restored to a government that they are paying for.  They want the United States Constitution to be adhered to and followed not rewritten to the liking of the politically-connected few.

I know America is asking a great deal this Christmas.  But isn't what is being asked for is what America once was and stood for?  How did America turn into this shell of itself that millions of Americans died for in wars since 1776?  And why must the majority of Americans accept this debris, filth and muck being force fed to them on a daily basis by a total biased and state run media?  Enough is enough.  It is time for real Americans to take back our country this Christmas season from this invasion of wrongs that are being sold as rights that are damaging our country's foundations of liberty and freedom.  Americans have had enough of this failed political experiment.  Americans see that it is truly 1776 all over again as the fight for personal freedoms and real democracy begins anew in 2023.

The Democrat's Open Border Illegal Immigration Crisis Or Liberal Hypocrisy

Yet another Democrat crisis hits home.  No, it is not the Democrat's illegal drug crisis.  No, it is not the Democrat's education crisis.  No, it is not the Democrat's energy crisis.  No, it is not the Democrat's runaway inflation crisis.  Nor is it the Democrat's supply chain crisis.  This time the Democrat's open border illegal immigration crisis has hit home to the beautiful liberal island of Martha's Vineyard where 50 (count em' 50!) illegal immigrants were sent to by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.  It has been interesting to view and see the reaction by the Democrats that has included immediate condemnation of the Governor for what he did.  Illegal immigrants were also brought to where "Secure Border" Vice President Harris lives in Washington, D.C.  The illegal immigrants in many ways are considered cargo and political tools of the Democrat Party.  We are seeing liberal hypocrisy in action.

I am wondering what Governor DeSantis did that was different than what President Biden did?  First  President Biden proclaimed our country's borders wide open when he took office.  This has created a massive crisis for our country since we now have over 2 million illegal immigrants this year alone to deal with.  President Biden has shipped some of these illegal immigrants through various ways to other parts of the country secretly over the past year.   Arizona, Florida and Texas have taken the brunt end of the crisis and Governors in these states have reached a breaking point.  The unchecked illegal immigration has also brought a new illegal drug crisis since drugs are flowing into our country freely again along with horrific human trafficking issues.  Obviously this does not concern the Democrat Party in their destruction of our country. Democrats want sanctuary cities to show how concerned they are for this type of people.  But when sanctuary cities get these illegal immigrants, the Democrats who run these cities are outraged and demand government help since they are overwhelmed by them.   So what about the states that are really overwhelmed?  Since Republicans run them they don't need any help?  Liberal sanctuary cities seem to be hypocrites in this problem that their Democrat Party created.

In Connecticut, I don't see Governor Lamont taking in any illegal immigrants to his home.  I don't see United States Senators Blumenthal or Murphy taking in any illegal immigrants to their homes.  I don't see United States Representatives Courtney, DeLauro, Hayes, Himes or Larsen taking in any illegal immigrants to their homes.  I don't see State Senator Duff taking in any illegal immigrants to his home.  I don't see Sanctuary City Mayors Bronin, Gamin or Elicker taking in any illegal immigrants to their homes. Why not?  Liberal Connecticut Democrats are hypocrites in this problem that their Democrat Party created.

The other major issue illegal immigrants face is what happens to them? Are they now the new cheap slave labor that the Democrat Party is yearning for to bring the economy back?  Are they being sold into slavery by human traffickers?  Are they being sold into the new illegal drug trade that is overtaking the country?  What is their path for legal citizenship as many of our great grandparents and grandparents went through?  Is it a grand plan for mail order "motor voter"? Is citizenship an option, and why or why not?  Can the United States government keep track and know the whereabouts off all of the illegal immigrants that they allowed into the country since President Biden open our borders?  Where can American Taxpayers find this report if it exists? Why aren't Sanctuary Cities willing and able to take in all of these illegal immigrants?  What were these illegal immigrants told in the first place to make them come here?  That they would be given free food, money, medical care, clothes, housing, transportation, and automatic citizenship?  Who is paying for illegal immigration?  Isn't it the American Taxpayer?   Why is this happening, and what benefit does our country get from this humanitarian crisis of its own making?

What is the solution to yet another incompetent Democrat Party created crisis that is helping to destroy our country?  Could it possibly be a closed United States border and a well researched legal immigration process to become an United States citizen?  And that this program takes in only a limited amount of people each year?  Can any United States Representative and or Senator come up with this legislation and override the horrific and inhumane program that President Biden created?

In my opinion and many others the Democrat Party has reached a new low with this crisis showing their inability to lead our state and country.  It shows also the true hypocrisy and serial incompetence of the Democrat Party and liberals in general.  These illegal immigrants are the new slaves and pawns of the Democrat Party.  This entire issue was avoidable.  I still don't understand why the Democrat Party hates our country and hides under the guise of being caring and humanitarian.  Because they are not either.  They are all about power.  Power that needs to be given back to the working men and women of our country who have been condemned, faulted and insulted one too many times, by the Democrat Party.

And it is 1776 all over again.
