Yet Another Connecticut Taxpayer Funded No Bid Covid-19 Contract: Thank You Ned Lamont!

I wonder when Ned Lamont, the Connecticut Democrat Party and the Boston Consulting Group will cancel both Thanksgiving and Christmas this year?  Maybe right after the election?  Or when there are more supposed "Red Zone" towns and cities?  For those who may wondering what a "Red Zone" town or city is, it means here in Connecticut that there are 15 or more cases per 100,000 people of Covid-19.  What I do not understand is that in many of the new founded "Red Zone" towns there are a lot less than 100,000 total population.  But who is willing to question our surrogate state government of Ned Lamont, the Connecticut Democrat Party and the Boston Consulting Group, who obviously are the experts when it comes to all things Covid-19? What do Connecticut Taxpayers know compared to these "experts"?  Obviously nothing except Connecticut Taxpayers have common sense which is sorely lack in Connecticut's surrogate government at this time.

What astounds me is the new Ned Lamont no bid Connecticut Taxpayer funded contract for a mere $24 million dollars to a little known California firm called AMN Healthcare.  AMN Healthcare's agreement with the state is an amazing contract of which very little is known. They are to hire, train and oversee a crew of contact tracers to supplement the efforts of the local health departments in Connecticut that apparently are overwhelmed due to Covid-19.  Under the contract, the state pays AMN $1,900 for each person hired, up to a total of 350 people. They also are paying AMN a mere $526,000 monthly in administration fees which would equal $1502.86 for each of the supposed 350 people hired (in a state that has 25% unemployment).  The company is required to submit weekly reports to Connecticut Department of Health officials who are overseeing the state’s contact tracing program to make sure they are hitting certain metrics, including contacts successfully reached within 48 hours of diagnosis and total volume of calls.  These metrics and number of calls apparently are not disclosed and are unknown at this time as there is little information that has been made public of this contract.  The contract requires that all of the tracers must be Connecticut residents and that the contract tracers to earn $29.50 an hour, case investigators to earn $43.25 an hour and supervisors $57.50 an hour.  I wonder why the Connecticut Department of Public Health can not handle this information and why must the state use yet another consultant to "trace" people who have Covid-19?  Will this tracing eliminate Covid-19 in the state?  It also shows to me how unprepared our state government is in dealing with a health crisis.  I also wonder if Connecticut Taxpayers privacy will be violated with these new contact tracers?  After all what business is it of the state to know if we are in contact with Covid-19 or not?  What happens if we are in contact with someone that has Covid-19 and do not get it?  And what is to say that our personal information will not be sold to third parties?  I do not see any guarantee of that not happening all in the name of Connecticut's never ending Covid-19 crisis. A crisis that is generating tons of money for an elite politically connected few.

Why is it going to cost Connecticut Taxpayers $526,000 per month for Administrative fees?  Why couldn't Connecticut hire these same people rather than paying $1900 per person for this company to hire them?  In a state that has 25% unemployment at this time I would venture to believe that these 350 jobs could be filled within a few hours since the only employers in Connecticut today are either our state government or Amazon Fulfillment Centers.  There is not much business left in the state to find jobs in contrary to what Ned Lamont, the Connecticut Democrat Party and the Boston Consulting Group believes.

This contract like the many other no bid contracts that have been steered by Ned Lamont, the Connecticut Democrat Party and the Boston Consulting Group seem again to be of little benefit to Connecticut Taxpayers during this crisis.  We just see more of the same-a horrifically bloated state government run by Ned Lamont, the Connecticut Democrat Party and the Boston Consulting Group who truly have no clue in dealing with a public health crisis and or a horrendous economy of high taxes, high unemployment and high short and long term debt along with massive unfunded liabilities.  Oh and by the way this is the record that Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Democrat Party want you to re elect them on on November 3.  It defies any type of logic.  Why would anyone vote for a Democrat in the election? Why?

Absolutely Disgusting! He obviously doesn't think we are very smart. Where is our transparency or say so?
