Connecticut's Massive Spending Problem Over And Over Again

Connecticut's massive spending problem rolls on.  And on and on.  And the solution once again is to raise taxes.  To raise taxes on basically all goods and services that still exist in Connecticut.  To remind my readers here are the taxes that the Democrat Party wish to increase:

Establish New Marginal Rate of 6.99% to increase revenue by $102.4 million in FY 2016 and $94.7 million in FY 2017
– Establish 2% Supplemental Tax on Capital Gains to increase revenue by $167.6 million in FY 2016 and $178 million in FY 2017
– Establish Mandatory Combined Reporting on Corporations to increase revenue by $38.6 million in FY 2016 and $23.7 million in FY 2017
– Repeal Exemptions for Computer and Data Processing and World Wide Web to increase revenue by $162.8 million in FY 2016 and $207 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on office of public accountants to increase revenue by $44.1 million in FY 2016 and $56 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on other accounting services to increase revenue by $10.5 million in FY 2016 and $13.4 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on architectural services to increase revenue by $16 million in FY 2016 and $20.4 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on engineering services to increase revenue by $121.2 million in FY 2016 and $154.1 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on drafting services to increase revenue by $500,000 in FY 2016 and $600,000 in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on building inspection services to increase revenue by $1.3 million in FY 2016 and $1.6 million in FY 2017

– Impose sales and use tax on process, physical dist., and logistics consulting to increase revenue by $4.3 million in FY 2016 and $5.4 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on other management consulting services to increase revenue by $1 million in FY 2016 and $1.3 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on other scientific and technical consulting services to increase revenue by $6.3 million in FY 2016 and $8 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on direct mail advertising to increase revenue by $6.6 million in FY 2016 and $8.4 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on advertising material distribution services to increase revenue by $2.2 million in FY 2016 and $2.8 million in FY 2017

– Impose sales and use tax on veterinary services to increase revenue by $17.1 million in FY 2016 and $21.8 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on all other professional, scientific and technical services to increase revenue by $3 million in FY 2016 and $3.9 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on other gambling industries to increase revenue by $5.1 million in FY 2016 and $6.5 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on golf courses and country clubs to increase revenue by $11.9 million in FY 2016 and $15.1 million in FY 2017
– Impose sales and use tax on dry-cleaning and laundry services (except coin-operated) to increase revenue by $4.4 million in FY 2016 and $5.5 million in FY 2017

These tax increases are apparently justified due to a 12% plus pay increase that the Governor rammed through in December for his inner circle, a lifetime pension for State Judges after serving for three years, state pensions that are in some cases 90% of base plus overtime salaries for life,
corporate welfare for the state's largest corporations in return for Democrat campaign donations, just to name a few.  I guess these examples are all essential state spending to keep Hartford's ruling elite satisfied and in power forever.  
Looking back at the lies of the last Governor's campaign and in particular Dannel Malloy lies about no budget deficits, we as taxpayers should start viewing our state government as a constant lie- a lie that state officials created. Now State Democrats ultimately believe that their lies are actually truth.  We have a massive Democratic Party spending problem in Hartford.  It is not a lie but reality.  Taxes no longer will solve Dannel Malloy's and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule spending problems.  Our state has lost yet once again.

Connecticut's Economic Exit Continues.

Connecticut's economic exit continues.  The signal has been the recent hilarious supposed budget negotiations (obviously all one sided) that presents to taxpayers a mere $1.8 billion dollars in new taxes and tax increases along with a further expansion of long term unfunded debt by a minimum of $1.5 billion dollars that will result with still a $165 million dollar budget deficit for the new budget itself.  You may remember the $2 billion dollars in tax increases that Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule shoved down taxpayers throats a few years back.  Those tax increases we were told were going to right the economic path of our state.  We were also told in the last campaign by a defiant Dannel Malloy that there were no budget deficits and the state was doing well economically. 
What a lie.  What a horrible economic lie this administration and legislature has been for the past 5 years.  It is disgusting.
And what is in store two years from now steal $2 billion in spending off a mandated state constitution spending cap with $2 billion dollars more in new taxes and higher taxes?  Can we safely state that Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule have a spending problem?  12% percent pay increases for political appointments?  Lifetime full pensions for judges who serve for only three years?  $1.7 billions dollars in state pensions yearly and growing on a daily basis?  $80 billion dollars plus in long term unfunded liabilities?
Connecticut ranks last in many economic categories as we approach our 25th year in economic decline.  With this tax increase it will further cement its last place finish in many economic categories.  It has become a state of economic decline and misery.
Too bad for taxpayers since Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule could care less about Connecticut any more.  Nor could taxpayers care less any more either about their elected officials who no longer represent them.

The State Constitution is a worthless piece of paper meant to be viewed anyway Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule wishes to. 
Now for taxpayers there really is no State Constitution Spending Cap nor ever has been one. 
Now for taxpayers more mandated budget items will magically disappear into the black hole of even more long lasting long term unfunded debt.  Last count if anyone cares $80 billion dollars and growing.
Now for taxpayers Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule new budget makes another $4 billion dollars of spending go away magically off budget.  Thus they are under the State Constitution Spending Cap that they do not believe in nor feels that it actually exists.  What a farce of state government!  And spending still is increasing in this new state budget.  
Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule has blatant disregard for a spending cap that was voted for by voters in 1992 as a legal Constitutional Amendment-the vote is null and void in 2015.  How can this vote be rescinded like that?
Maybe Connecticut's taxpayers should start moving paying their state taxes off budget, not pay them at all and emulate their supposed elected officials.  Isn't that fair?  Why would it not be?
Keep the debt flowing, keep the debt flowing, taxpayers that is the name of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule's Game!

Silence Is Golden Especially If You Are Bankrupt

Silence is golden.  It is peaceful.  Especially if you are bankrupt.  Our state government in my economic opinion is economically and morally bankrupt.  Long term debt keep rising and it seems to most taxpayers that the bulk of Connecticut's budget goes to salaries, benefits and pensions.   Roads are in disrepair, bridges crumbling, judges receive full pensions after three years of work, corporate welfare is rampant, the list seems endless as to Connecticut's economic demise.  And Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule seem completely oblivious to the economic ruin and demise they have created in Connecticut during their reign.
We are bankrupt in our state.  We continue to push off the real economic issues of excessive state spending that is non productive and basically is spent nurturing a ruling elite that enjoys at taxpayers expense high wages, great benefits and fully funded pensions that no longer exist in private industry.
We are bankrupt in our state.  Taxpayers continue to move out and businesses have no reason to move to Connecticut.  We are last in many economic categories. It is pathetic to see this happening.
The state Republicans have put forth a budget that actually examines the issues of state spending and more importantly looks at salaries, benefits and pensions for state employees.  But to me it is only a starting point to reconnect economic reality to our bloated state government.
Silence is golden-the Republicans have made the first move.  Too bad Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule can not govern nor put forth a real state budget.  The economic crisis here is real and taxpayers have had enough.
Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule silence is deafening to taxpayers-those who remain.

What Can $2 Billion Dollars Buy? Or For That Matter $2.5 Billion Dollars?

What can $2 billion dollars buy?  Or for that matter $2.5 billion dollars buy?
The coronation of Hillary Clinton for President has begun and reports are that she will raise $2.5 billion dollars for her campaign.  And one could ponder what $2.5 billion dollars could buy in our economy?
Could that money help college students struggling to find work and pay off their college loans?
Could that money help students pay for their expensive textbooks?
Could that money help people who can't afford their medical bills?
Could that money help people who need affordable rents and or housing?
Could that money be used to help educate citizens who need functional jobs skills in order to gain employment, be productive and leave governmental welfare programs?
Could that money be used to  repair our failing public road system?
Can you just imagine what could be done with $2.5 billion dollars in our society?  Or $5 billion dollars?  Or even $10 billion dollars?  I really wonder what the 2016 Clinton Presidential campaign will cost our economy?
The voters obviously will not benefit from this spending.  Highly paid campaign professionals and managers, consultants, the biased media and some printers will benefit from these monies.
And most importantly the Clinton machine will use $2.5 billion dollars to somehow convince voters that somewhere and somehow, Mrs. Clinton is qualified to be President. 
We are led to believe that the Clintons are average hard working people who are non egotistical and just like you and I.
We are led to believe that the Clintons worked very hard through the gifts they received to their foundation and the speeches they made that they are entitled to their simplistic and minimalist life style they apparently have.
It will be a long and brutal campaign.  And just think of what that money that is going to be spent could do for our society instead of where and who it will be going to.

More Connecticut Higher Education Cuts-Students Will Continue To Pay More And More

I wonder if any of our state elected officials have walked into a state college or university classroom lately?  I also wonder when the last time was when any high ranking Connecticut education bureaucrat went into one of the classrooms they oversee and govern?  I wonder when the last time was when either any of our state elected officials or high ranking Connecticut education bureaucrat talked to any students or adjunct faculty members of our state higher education system?
I wonder this based upon the massive cuts in the higher education system directed right at the student who can least afford it. 
The same student who tells me each semester their financial aid is delayed and they can not afford to buy the textbook. 
The same student who tells me they since their financial aid was cut back and they can not afford to buy the textbook.
The same student who tells me outright they can not afford to buy the textbook since they do not have an extra $225 for it.
Yet they can afford a $1.8 million dollar outside consulting contract to develop a plan for higher education in Connecticut.  I could have done that in one sentence-educate students so they have marketable job skills and education to become gainfully employed. 
I also wonder why they there were no pay or benefit cuts to any of the high ranking Connecticut education bureaucrats that rule our state college and university system?  But we can make sure the students can cough up more in tuition and user fees along with less financial aid.  Let us make those who can least afford it pay more and more while high ranking Connecticut education bureaucrats continue to feast at the never ending trough of yet higher salaries and benefits.  It is elitism at its best.
I have taught for thirty three years now.  It saddens me to see how students are treated in 2015 in Connecticut by their high ranking Connecticut education bureaucrats.  My students deserve better.

Malloy's Options-Blame, Blame, Blame

And it is more of the same, blame, blame, blame.  Play the blame game with Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.
Blame Indiana.
Blame Republicans.
Blame middle aged white men.
Blame past administrations.
Blame the economy.
Blame Bush.
Blame everyone and anyone.
But do not blame Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.
Even though they are responsible for a lack of leadership and a lack of plan to address Connecticut's worsening fiscal crisis.  Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule are responsible for the worsening economic situation in Connecticut.  No one else.
I blame Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.
I blame Dannel Malloy for traveling around the country making a fool out of himself while Connecticut's economic crisis grows by the hour.
He has truly outdone himself with a travel ban to Indiana-better yet can he ban himself from traveling all over the country and his cronies to save the state money?
I assume that will never happen.  Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule rule with an iron hand.  And is shows daily here in our lost economic state.
Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule will keep blaming until they are out of office.  Which for taxpayers can not come too soon.

Connecticut's Continuing Economic Debacle-Yes We Have A Spending Problem

It just never ends for Connecticut taxpayers.  While Dannel Malloy runs around the country insulting Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and insulting middle aged white men his state continues its economic downfall.  Apparently Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule largest tax increase in the state's history has done little to stem the flow of red ink and or the the $80 billion dollars in short and long term debt the state has.  No here in Connecticut we have economic lies and more economic lies on a daily basis from Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.
Budget Chief Ben Barnes reward for his economic lies to Connecticut taxpayers was a raise of $23,000 a year from $187,000 to a mere $210,000 a year salary (plus state benefits and his never ending pension he will receive).
Thus as Connecticut's continuing economic debacle continues we see that the carefully written script by Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule is to cut as many programs that can directly hurt those citizens truly in need and have no other protections along with cutting veterans programs, while proposing a Utopian $100 billion dollar transportation program  in order to justify tolls and more tax increases.  The carefully written script is getting the necessary comments from the media of how bad these cuts are and thus the only solution is to raise taxes yet once again.  And the script will read clearly enough that two years from now in 2018 after all of the new tolls, new taxes and increases in current taxes we will have a new budget deficit of $200 million dollars (or pick any number) along with $90 billion dollars in short and long term unfunded liabilities.  Thus it never ends.
How about if a budget was presented by both parties (yes there are Republicans who were elected legally who represent some taxpayers in Connecticut) that actually cuts spending and lowers taxes to create real economic stimulation and growth in our economy?  For example a rescinding of the 6 to 12% pay increases that are automatic now each year for Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule state commissioners and aides.  Or how about a 10% cut in salaries and benefits for those same jobs?  How about reopening negotiations with state unions to help share a realistic solution to resolving the unfunded pension and benefits that is present in this budget and has been present for years now?  How about an end to the corporate welfare programs that state taxpayers must underwrite like the millions of dollars given to Back 9 Network, Bass Pro Shops, United Technologies, Cowles Company or any of the many large corporations that feed freely on taxpayers monies?
Thus more of the same.  We need a functional two party system in Connecticut.  We need to cut state spending.  We need an economically efficient and frugal state government that truly reuses a paper clip or scrap piece of paper to save a penny.  Because if we continue to ignore Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule unchecked spending, unethical behaviors and complete disregard for the state spending cap law we will not be economically functional in 2018.  It is their call now, I can and will vote with my feet in the long run.

I teach part time as an Adjunct at three universities.  I forgot to walk out of my classes on February 25^th.  Here it is March 11 and I am still technically in class (my online classes).   However I also understand that I have not had a pay increase in one university I teach at in now 13 years and have had my classes and pay cut at another one due to Obamacare (see quoted text below)

Please read it carefully and understand the implications about going over the approved load of three classes total in a 16-week period. 

I have been teaching as an Adjunct for the past 33 years and have taught classes in Economics, Business and Accounting at 10 different colleges and universities over that time frame.  I have taught 1083 credit hours during that time also.  The average full time Professor teaches 6 to 18 credit hours per school year.  I teach normally 39 to 45 credit hours per school year.  I will match my professionalism and credentials in the classroom with any full-fledged tenured professor at any college or university any time. 

Interesting isn’t it?  I have given up any desire to want to teach full time on a college or university level.  I know it would be enticing for me to teach fulltime since there are few college professors who are either conservative and or have real world experiences in the economy.  Yet I keep teaching I guess to try to help my students learn and do better in their lives and for a paycheck since I receive no benefits at any of the schools I teach at.  The paycheck is interesting for at one university I teach at they are saving a great deal of money now by paying adjuncts only once a semester in a lump sum.  Most schools will pay adjuncts every two weeks.

Interesting isn’t it?  We see college costs have skyrocketed over the past fifteen years.  We see adjunct pay be cut and or stay the same in that same time frame.  We see Presidents of colleges and universities salaries and benefits continue to go up in this same time period.

Something really needs to change in higher education.  It is sad to see the abuse of the adjunct in 2015.  Interesting isn’t it?  I forgot to walk out of my classes on February 25^th.  I think I should have now.

More lies equal more taxes.  Since the advent of the Connecticut state income tax back in 1991 as a cure all for all of Connecticut's budgetary woes, we have seen a constant increase in state taxes along with a constant increase in state spending and state employee salaries and benefits.  Unlike any economic model one could study in any economic class, the Connecticut model of higher state spending and higher state taxes just continues unabated for the past 24 years.  The Connecticut economic model for our state government is hereby defined as "More Lies Equals More Taxes".  I have defined it since I can not find in any textbook, class notes and or course curriculum that  I have ever used in 33 years of teaching Business and Economics classes a more economically irrational group of policies that the Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule has shoved down the throats of Connecticut's taxpayers in 2015.
It is just more lies equaling more taxes.
What about the Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule lie that there was no budget deficit during the campaign?
What about the Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule lie that tolls will be not considered in his second term?
What about the Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule lie about the largest tax increase in state's history back in 2011 was to get Connecticut back on track for a balanced budget?
What about the Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule lie about the State Constitution and its spending cap?
What about the Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule lie about the following the rules and laws of our State Constitution?

Protect the self interests of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.
Make up budget and tax projections that are economically unrealistic and show economic illiteracy.
Cut funding for the most vulnerable in our society including the elderly and disabled.
Increase taxes and postpone tax cuts for businesses.
Increase taxes and postpone tax cuts for those who work for a living.
Propose secret tolls for state roads.
Increase state spending for the politically connected in Hartford.
And it is more of the same.
Dannel Malloy's and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule new state budget for 2015.
And it is more of the same.
Nothing changes in our state government other than the number of businesses and taxpayers moving out of the state in 2015.
More state spending, more and higher taxes, more of the same.
The heck with a two year impending $3 billion dollar budget deficit.
The heck with $80 billion dollars of long term liabilities
And it is more of the same.
Lies by Dannel Malloy's and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and their new state budget for 2015.
My college students in my Introduction to Microeconomics classes could do a better job in crafting a realistic state budget that addresses excessive state spending, excessive state taxation and the excessive cronyism of Hartford.
And it is more of the same.   Did we expect anything different?

More Than $33 Million Dollars? In Connecticut's Government Money Can Not Be Spent Fast Enough For Bought Elections?

Connecticut reminds me in 2015 of an economic roller coaster.  I am waiting for the inevitable crash of the cars to come flying off the tracks and into the economic oblivion of never ending debt.  $33 Million dollars of state's taxpayers monies was used in the last election to basically reelect Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule back into unlimited, ruthless, economic power.  There is now a bill being introduced in Hartford to allow for public financing for four municipalities in Connecticut for local elections.  This law would shore up Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule in four cities here in Connecticut.  I will assume since I can not confirm it that the four cities would be Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, and Waterbury.  Thus the playing field for local elections will become more skewed in favor of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule through the use of taxpayer's monies.
It is funny that from the 2014 State elections we never heard any more about Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule questionable state contribution of $200,000 to the State Senator Ted Kennedy Jr. campaign from this fund.  Or how about Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule when it used its federal account to pay for mailers supporting Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, effectively bypassing a ban on state contractor contributions in state elections.  I guess when it benefits Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy there are no problems with the blatant disregard for the supposed Citizens Election Program.  What a farce and waste of taxpayers monies this program is.  Why not use the $33 Million dollars to pay down the state debt or maybe give our overtaxed state some tax relief?
But alas it is more of the same from Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule, this time skewing local election through this law to ensure one party rule forever in Connecticut.  Why is this occurring and why must state taxpayers foot the bill yet once again?  It is time to repeal this law today.  It is time to stop once again wasting taxpayers monies on incomprehensible omnipotent political rule.

The Connecticut Public Corruption Task Force To The Rescue

Somehow, somewhere corruption in Connecticut’s political system will end and we will have a legitimate election and government process.  Fantasy?  Hard to believe?  I know I am skeptical when I saw that there is now a Connecticut Public Corruption Task Force that has been formed.  It is a multi-agency, federal task force that has developed to help battle the never-ending corruption here in Connecticut.

As a way to protect the political corruption of Connecticut we are the only state in the nation that does not allow for an investigative grand jury to be used in a corruption case.  The investigative grand jury forces both testimony and evidence to be produced to help the prosecutor actually prosecute the corrupted issue he or she is trying to root out.  Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule in our State Legislature has prevented legislation from being passed over the years to allow this type of investigative grand jury from taking place.  Why?  Could it possibly be to protect the corrupted way of voting and governmental process?  Can we see any better example of current corruption with a special election taking place for State Senate in Bridgeport and amazingly enough over 800 Democratic absentee ballots that are dumped in their Registrars office this week?  Or how about an extension of voting hours in Hartford from the recent election or November?  Or possible four years ago with the Bridgeport election day debacle that helped seal the election for Dannel Malloy?  Or how about Earl O’Garro Jr. and his insurance fraud with Hartford? 

To me the list is endless-how five people will combat this will be amazing. 

The fraud continues unabated.  I wish this group well in their upcoming war with the corruption of Connecticut.

Connecticut taxpayers get to pay what I term the “fraud” taxes of Connecticut that help support our corrupted government and Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule in our State Legislature.   It is too bad that Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule in our State Legislature does not have the guts to pass the laws needed to allow for this investigative grand jury to take place.  But they will pass hundreds of meaningless, micromanaged types of laws that will control and limit your freedoms even more in our state while allowing for their own unlimited freedom, lawlessness and corruption to continue ad infinitum (to infinity).

The Plan Versus $80 Billion Dollars Plus

Since we still do not have an economic plan to balance the state budget from Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule except to cut funding to those who are most vulnerable in our economy, we can only view the free money given to the start up Back 9 Golf Network and other companies here in Connecticut.
Apparently since there is no word on the economic plan either to cut spending or how high taxes are going to be raised from Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule, it is time to try to understand the free money that has been given to businesses to either relocate in the state and or move to the state.  For example the money given to Back9 Golf Network,  the $20 millions dollars to USB, the money given to Cowles Company to move from New Haven to North Haven, or better yet the $260 million dollars that the state's Department of Economic and Community Development spends basically unchecked and unquestioned.  Is this really economically productive?
I find it amazing that we never hear about the amount of money that has been written off by the  Department of Economic and Community Development or any other state agency when a business or group is given free state taxpayer's monies and is no longer operational.  I am curious as to how much money has been wasted in the past four years plus of Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.  And more importantly why we can not get answers to this question as taxpayers.
Hartford's bureaucracy protects Hartford's bureaucracy.  There is no transparency, no answers to the economic issues in the state and no truths emanating from Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.
So there is no plan for a balanced budget nor figuring out how to pay down Connecticut's $80 billion dollars in long term debt.  $5 million dollars here, $5 million dollars really does not buy much any more for Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule except to cut funding to those who are most vulnerable in our economy.

The Harsh Malloy Cuts Round II

Here they come Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy's cuts to the state budget.  How about more cuts to social service programs that help disabled Connecticut citizens?  That is the essence of these cuts.  In showing their strength and fears of taxpayers backlash,  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy are now running scared.  For the first four years of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy rule there was no budgetary discussions with the Republican party.  Now all of sudden Malloy wishes to talk?  Why?  It is because the unchecked non stop state spending from the past four years and the largest tax increase in state's history has done nothing to stop the constant flow of red ink in Hartford?  Is it because of all of the taxpayer dollar scandals that Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy have been involved in are now starting to unravel?  And is all of that free taxpayer's monies that was given to the politically connected now gone?  Many questions however as usual no answers to Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy's misguided and inept economic policies that have entrapped our state for four plus years now.  More to come.
As far as the budget cuts are concerned there is no mention of a rescinding of pay cuts for Commissioners and staff that were enacted by decree last month.  There is no mention of eliminating full pensions after three years of service to the state for state judges.  There is no mention of the free giveaway of state taxpayer's monies to entice companies already located in the state to move from one town to another in the state on the false promise of new job formation.  There is no mention of the amount of companies here in Connecticut that already have gotten that free money and are no longer in business and no longer employing any employees.  Why is that?  Because of all of the economic and political corruption that Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy have created in Connecticut?
Connecticut's Founding Fathers must be turning in their graves to the see the current condition of our state.  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and Dannel Malloy continue on a day-today basis show their complete disregard for taxpayers and their only concerns to their powerful political machine.  I truly feel sorry for those disabled and taxpayers here in Connecticut.

What Is The Point? I Could Write About?

I do not know what is the point?
I could write more about the Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule continuing, never-ending budget deficits.  These are the same deficits that did not exist during the campaign according to Dannel Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.

I could write more as the deficits continuing to climb while tax revenues especially for Connecticut's secret 8.1% gross earnings tax on gasoline collapse.  And at the federal level our economically challenged  Junior Senator Murphy wants a higher federal gas tax for highways.  I just wonder where all the money went from all of the gas taxes paid at the state and federal levels?  And we have a horrific highway system especially here in Connecticut.

I could write about all of the unfunded mandates here in Connecticut that place our towns and cities into economic stress.  For example in Wallingford an unfunded $20 million upgrade to the wastewater treatments plant to process new stormwater treatment requirements.  Who is going to pay for that-taxpayers of course.

I could write about a lot of things.  I do not know what is the point?  Especially living in an age where our political system has developed into a privileged class exempt from rules and laws and allowed to become rich at the taxpayer's expense all the while blasting those who work hard and are productive in our economy.  And then asking for their political donations to keep them in power ad infintum (to infinity).  Ironic isn't it? But then again isn't that the point?

Skeptical-The Malloy Plan-More Taxes, New Tolls, More Taken Off Budget and Hidden From Taxpayers View

Skeptical.  Would Tom Foley have made a better Governor than Danell Malloy?  I am certain he would have.  I am skeptical of the Malloy "Plan" that Mrs. Malloy alluded to in her recent attack on Tom Foley.
I am skeptical of the Malloy "Plan" as we still have not seen a coherent "Plan" which addresses a new $1.2 billion dollar budget deficit and $80 billion dollars plus of long term unfunded liabilities.  The Malloy "Plan" along with Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule decrees will include in my economic opinion more and new taxes, the introduction of tolls again on our road system (which is supposedly supported by one of the highest gas taxes in the country) and more money being taken off line and off budget and hidden from taxpayers view.
Taxpayers are skeptical after they were told by Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule that there was no budget deficit during the campaign.  When the lies and the election was won through the help of manipulations of extended voting in Hartford two positions were quickly implemented by Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule; that we now have a massive budget deficit and we need to give raises to the most politically connected in Hartford or we will somehow lose their expert guidance in running our state to economic oblivion. 
Thus the skepticism continues as the lies mount with the Malloy "Plan" along with Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.  We have a continuing never ending economic crisis in Connecticut that is fueled by excessive and corrupted state spending by Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.  And it will still not be addressed in 2015.

Hartford's Spoils System Continues Unchecked

From my last post on 12/27/14 I mentioned the enormous raises that Dannel Malloy is giving a small minority of his political inner circle using taxpayers monies.  In a year of supposed fiscal restraint who cares about this $1.4 million dollars of taxpayers monies other than the taxpayers whose pockets it is taken out of.  I am curious as to how Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule can justify these raises under the constitutionally mandated spending cap?  Is this going to another example like the $3 billion dollars of taxpayer funded monies for Medicaid that was taken amazingly enough off budget and out of the general fund?  In 2015 where is this $3 billion dollars coming from?  In economic reality this is a large percentage of the state budget that is no longer accounted for and gets shoved down into the excessive long term unfunded liabilities that Connecticut has to the tune of $80 billion dollars or more.
Connecticut under Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule has become a utopia of a legal in their own mind spoils system.  Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule will continue unabated their redistribution of taxpayers monies from those in need and from essential services to their elitists spoils system of the politically connected who dominate, destroy and corrupt Connecticut. 
Hartford's spoils system continues unchecked, maybe this year Republicans in the state legislature will have the guts to stand up and question this economic waste that is called state government.

2015-The Year Of Higher Salaries For Connecticut Commissioners 2015-The Year Of More Fiscal Mismanagement

2015 is around the corner.  I wrote about many different ways that Connecticut and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule have misappropriated money, lost money and in general did a rather poor job in spending taxpayers monies.  Their reward was reelection in most cases.  Thus we as taxpayers are going to have a very rough four years with again higher taxes, more long and short term debt, more nepotism, corruption and more fiscal mismanagement.
One must also view that this debt, nepotism, corruption and fiscal mismanagement has been rewarded by Dannel Malloy through an excessive $1.4 million dollar pay increase averaging 3% to 12% for 200 of his political appointees and other constitutional officers.  Taxpayers must now understand that fiscal mismanagement in the form of a (pick a number) $1 billion dollar budget deficit coupled with (pick a number) $80 billion dollar long term debt is rewarded with a $1.4 million dollar pay increase for political cronies.  Did you get a 12% pay increase last year? Thus it really looks like four more years of the same force fed garbage for Connecticut's overworked taxpayers.
To me there seems really to be a rampant disregard for any economic logic here in Connecticut.  Politics rules our state economy and taxpayers are powerless to do anything about it.  What is the purpose of any spending constitutional laws if they are going to be disregarded by Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule?  What are the rights of taxpayers?  Are there any?
2015 will continue to be brutal for Connecticut's economy and taxpayers.  Taxpayers especially those who are working several jobs will be asked to pay more to support the waste and fraud that permeates every aspect of Connecticut's government.  Get use to it.  Those in power will continue to benefit at our expense.

Malloy Owns It Or Do Connecticut Taxpayers Own It?

He owns it now.  Dannel P. Malloy says he's righted the ship and is ready to set a new course-12/17 Ct Mirror.  Governor Malloy has stated It took him awhile but Connecticut is now on the right track. 
What right track?  The track of probably pushing more spending off budget and into the black hole of future unfunded liabilities ($80 billion or pick a number), more and higher taxes and even less personal freedoms.  For taxpayers remaining here in Connecticut we own it.  We own the economic mismanagement of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule, we own the higher and never ending taxes and we own the future unfunded liabilities that never end, we own the lies of our state government, and we most importantly will work forever to support Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule nepotism, corruption and spoils system which is what I feel our government is in 2014.
So what is the new course?  Higher and new taxes?  So what else is new.
Connecticut still needs a new economic direction.  It can not be found with Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and its stale redistribution economic policies that fail us miserably. 
Malloy does own it and he will own it.  The media will continue to prop the Governor up and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.
It never ends does it.

Do Legal Citizens and Taxpayers of Connecticut Have Any Rights?

Just curious if legal citizens and taxpayers of Connecticut have any rights?  Do we have any protections based upon law and the Constitution of the state of Connecticut which protect us?  Or are we now legally bound economic serfs to an omnipotent state government which at its own whim can change any law any time they want and disregard any law which stands in their way of omnipotence?  Legal citizens and taxpayers no longer seem to have any rights or protection under the rule law here in Connecticut. 

Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule (sorry Senator Bye it is Omnipotent One Party Rule) and the Malloy Administration deem it necessary to accommodate individuals who are here in the state illegally to obtain a legal driver’s license to drive in the state.  Why?  Is there a reason they are here illegally and not citizens of the state?  Where is this in our state Constitution?

I am really appalled at Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule and the Malloy Administration granting illegals state driver’s licenses.  This was illegal in my opinion.  However we must remember we live a state where there is no longer any rule of law or any protections afforded by the rule of law or the Constitution of the state of Connecticut to those legal citizens and taxpayers of the state. 

Maybe it is now time to defund our state government.  Maybe it is time for taxpayers and legal citizens to stop being a serf in Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule and the Malloy Administration’s total disrespect and disregard for the laws that govern only a chosen few in Connecticut.  Our state government has failed us.  Enough is enough.

The Malloy Deficit-Or When A Deficit Is Not A Deficit

Confusion.  When is a deficit not a deficit?  When Dan Malloy is running for reelection along with Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.  The Governor who apparently cruised to reelection making up campaign laws as he went along won by a whopping 25,000 votes in an election where over 40% of the registered voters stayed home and did not vote.  Thus we will have more of the same for the next four years.  A total disregard for our state constitution along with a massive budget deficit which will bring about new and higher taxes for Connecticut.

But back to my original economic thoughts, When is a deficit not a deficit? In Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party minds it is perfectly acceptable to state during the campaign that there was no budget deficit.

For example on June 4, 2014 Malloy stated, "We don’t face a deficit. I’ve decided to boil this down a little bit for you. The deficit projections on the same services budget would require that we increase spending by 7.78 percent. You don’t believe we’d do that, nobody believes we’d do that,” he said. Nobody, no party, no politician is going to advocate that we increase spending by 7.78 percent. Confusion.  When is a deficit not a deficit?  When it is $100 million this fiscal year and explodes to $1 billion dollars next fiscal year.  And all of the lies, all of the higher taxes that Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party will create over the next year will not be enough to make Connecticut debt free again.  $80 billion dollars in long term debt in 2014, by 2018 that should double at least $160 billion based on current and future spending and borrowing.

Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party-back in power, back to the lies, back to last in all economic categories in our country.  Maybe the 40% who did not vote should have.  Or maybe we should just move out of Connecticut.

Happy Veterans Day

I want to wish all Veterans a Happy and Peaceful Veterans Day on Tuesday. We can reflect on the great sacrifices our military men and women make each day without ego nor fan fare to help keep our country safe from world wide threats. We can also reflect on all of the men and women who gave their lives to our country to keep us free. Freedom has never been nor ever will be free nor should it ever be taken for granted. We as a country will prevail over the forces and war of terrorism. And we will prevail over those who wish to upset our freedom.

Sunday's Thoughts About Election Day-Vote Republican

In Connecticut there seems to be two worlds, one of economic reality and one of economic fantasy during this election.  The economic reality is being shown by Republican candidates especially for those brave individuals who are running for State Representative and State Senator.  For example Frank Apuzzo who is the Republican candidate for Wallingford State Representative has presented a clear and concise economic platform for voters.  His opponent the economically stale and in office for 34 years now Mary Mushinsky represents Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule economic fantasy of the state economy. Taxpayers serve Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and have been for many years now.  A voter could argue with great validity that they are not better off from her first term in 1980 to today.  In fact many of those same voters and taxpayers she supposedly represents have moved out of Connecticut over the past 34 years.  The erosion of the state's economy has been happening for many years now and is not letting up.  Frank Apuzzo has the new economic ideas which are essential to prevent Connecticut from being ranked at the bottom number 50 out of 50 states in all economic categories.
On the State Senate side I wish I could vote for Republican candidate Len Suzio of Meriden running in the 13th Senatorial District.  Mr. Suzio has led by example in his previous term as State Senator and has been unyielding in his desire to repeal the irrational and deadly early prisoner release program.  I am curious if one of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule family members were killed by an ex prisoner who came out of this early release program how fast the program would be eliminated?  Mr. Suzio has the economic and business experience to help develop legislation to get Connecticut's economy moving again.  He is also a great choice for voters in this district. 
Connecticut's two economic worlds could become one of economic hope on Tuesday November 4th by voting for the State Republican teams in this election-from Tim Herbst to Tom Foley-to Frank Apuzzo to Len Suzio.  Economic hope versus more economic stagnation and despair nurtured by Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.  Which do you want on election day?

My daughter recently received a political mailing by Connecticut Forward even though she no longer lives in Connecticut and has not voted here in Connecticut for years that states: “What Does Tom Foley’s Connecticut Look Like?  See Inside For More…”

It is interesting to note that Connecticut Forward according to this mailing states: “Our top five aggregate covered transfers were made by the Democratic Governors Association, AFT Solidarity, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Service Employees International  Union COPE, and Teamsters Local 1150.”  Thus one must assume union money went to produce the flyer.

In Dan Malloy’s State things are a bit different.

The Working Middle Class are under constant threat of losing their jobs and newer and higher taxes.

Law abiding citizens must register their guns and criminals under Malloy’s Early Release Program are allowed to roam free to commit more crimes with in some cases their illegal guns.

Higher education which is subsidized by state taxpayers is fast becoming unaffordable for state residents.

And those remaining working people pay one of the highest tax burdens in the country.

Democrat Dan Malloy has taken Connecticut the wrong way.

His economic policies and avoidance of the rules and laws in our state have driven it to the bottom tier in our country in many economic and business categories.   He and Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule have driven Connecticut to an economic wasteland.

Why Is Connecticut An Economic Mess?

I have some thoughts as to why I feel along with many of my students and readers as to why Connecticut is an economic mess.  There has been a steady decline in many areas of our state economy for many years now.  Blame has been pointed from one politician to another.  In this 2014 election there is much economic irrational thought being presented by Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule as to how well the state’s economy is doing with mythical job creation, blaming the last Republican Administration for the deficit even though Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule has controlled both the House and Senate for years now and vetoed many pieces of a Republican Governor’s legislation to lower the debt and lastly the inability for Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule to follow the rules and laws that they have enacted for campaign financing.  Thus in October 2014 Connecticut continues to be an economic mess.

Taxes, job growth and job creation are interwoven parts of our economy.  When taxes become too high businesses must either cut costs to remain profitable and or relocate to a more tax and business friendly state.  We have seen this happening for years here in Connecticut directly due to a lack of checks and balances in our state government.  Those lucky businesses that remain here in Connecticut seem to be bullied into donating to the Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule various committees and fund raisers.  Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule then slams a successful businessman who apparently has not taken state aid and who is running for Governor on the Republican ticket.  Millionaires abound in Hartford’s and Washington’s Omnipotent One Party Rule yet the state Republican party continues to be vilified by having a successful businessman who is running for Governor on the Republican ticket.  Money, hard work, success and wealth is bad to Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule unless you are legally paying them off in the form of political contributions and other unknown and unpublished perks.  Thus in October 2014 Connecticut continues to be an economic mess.  To me it is a fraudulent government supported by those remaining taxpayers in Connecticut.

Connecticut has over $80 billion dollars in long term unfunded and funded liabilities.  Unfortunately a taxpayer is not able to obtain an answer from Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule as to the actual amount of the debt is nor what the plan is to pay it off.  I guess current taxpayers will not obtain an answer to this in their current lifetime.   Again to me this is economic chaos being nurtured by Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule.

Taxpayers get the bill for over $33 million dollars to support these same candidates running for office through the state's free campaign money law. This money supports these corrupted campaigns and elections.  Why?  Why can't we view this campaign finance reform program as a sham after the current Malloy anti-Foley mailing? 

Thus in October 2014 Connecticut continues to be an economic mess.  Its roots and origins can be blamed back to the first Governor Czar we had, Lowell Weicker who slammed down the throats of state taxpayers the economically draining state income tax back in 1991 which began the orgy of state spending that has not let up in 23 years.  In 2014 the state spends in excess of $21 billion dollars a year.  For what you may also ask?  We still have crime, we still have poverty, we still have high taxes, we still see our youth flee the state when they graduate, we still see people hungry, we still see a horrific highway, road and bridge system, we still have one of the highest costs of living in the country and we still have a corrupted state government system which enables this economic charade to continue.

Have you had enough?  Do you really want to continue Connecticut’s economic mess for yet another four years?  Why can’t we change the way political business is done in Connecticut?  Why can’t we give all the Republicans running for state office a vote and a chance to see if they can eliminate the economic mess that Connecticut is in 2014?  Or is it too late to save Connecticut from Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule?

Why Campaign Finance Laws Are Made To Be Disregarded By Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule

Apparently campaign finance laws here in Connecticut are made to be broken by Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule and meant to be followed by Connecticut Republicans. 
The Malloy mailer which was sent out using the state Democrats Federal campaign funds account is currently illegal according to state campaign laws.  Obviously that does not stop Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule in doing what they want when they want regardless of any type of law.
Connecticut passed in the wake of the Rowland scandal some strict campaign finance reform laws in 2005 to prohibit what just occurred with this mailing.  These reform laws which were hailed as revolutionary-taxpayer monies were to be used in public financing of state elections so long as candidates did not accept funds from political action committees, companies or individuals who did business with the state or special interest groups.  Malloy in this election has taken $6.2 in taxpayer funded public finance funds, some $4 million which has somehow been channeled through the State Democratic State Central Committee and an astonishing $3.5 through a Malloy Political Action Committee.  And he uses monies that were raised for federal campaigns now for this attack mailing on Tom Foley in what seems to me to be an act of desperation in his failing campaign.
Thus as if it was not bad enough taxpayers now paid for illegally his $6.2 public finance funds even though he has taken $7.5 million in funds which are in clear violation of this campaign financing reform law and the debacle with using illegally these federal campaign funds.  How the campaign finance reform laws of 2005 have helped our state is beyond any type of rational thought.  It is now another burden to the already overburden state taxpayers.
Sounds confusing-it is-campaign finance reforms are now a farce.

Have they lowered your taxes?  What do you mean they raised them?

Have they made Connecticut more business friendly? What do you mean you want to move your business out-of-state?

Have they addressed why they force businesses to pay to play?  What do you mean as a business owner you cannot afford that Democrat political contribution they want?

Have they improved Connecticut’s roads?  What do you mean you spend one hour each day one way commuting due to the traffic congestions?

Have addressed Connecticut’s unfunded liabilities?  What do you mean it is now $80 billion dollars plus?

Have they addressed the issues in the State Treasurer’s office?  What do you mean we have not heard from Denise Nappier in how long?

Have they looked at how many citizens are moving out-of-state?  What do you mean that you are going to?

So what has Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule done for you lately?

Just curious as the record they are running for reelection on is pretty poor.  Actually and in reality it is a horrible record of what they have done for Connecticut.

Just curious why any voter would vote for the Malloy regime and Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule again.

I know now my curiosity has been satisfied.  And I have had enough of their lies.

Will Connecticut Voters Wake Up?

Will Connecticut voters wake up on November 4^th?  Will they wake up and go to their local polling places and vote?  Will Connecticut voters make a change in our stale and economically inept government?

Can they?  Do they understand the current road to economic ruin that Connecticut is on due to Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule?  Do they understand the magnitude of Connecticut’s unfunded liabilities?  Do they understand how Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule chooses economic winners and losers? Do they understand that the winners contribute to the Democratic Party or risk falling out of grace?  Do they understand economic development is done with their own taxpayer’s monies?  Do they understand there are no longer any checks or balances in our state government?

The ruling elite is a better term for Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule.  They have driven the state to the ground economically.  We even have an unknown State Treasurer who is responsible for $26 billion dollars of state investments who is

nowhere to be found at this time.  We have a Governor who does not lead nor govern nor understand how an economy works.  We are not better off than we were before the Malloy Regime entered office.  We are not safer than we were before the Malloy early prisoner release program.  We are a state of no’s and not’s.  We have one of the highest tax rates in the country along with a negative business climate.  Businesses and citizens are fleeing the state.  It is the nasty truth of the Malloy Administration and Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule.

They really deserve to be reelected on this record of the past four years?

Why we give these candidates a chance to show what they can do for a change?

Heather Somers for Lt. Governor.

Tim Herbst for State Treasurer.

Peter Lumaj for Secretary of State.

Sharon McLaughlin for Comptroller.

Kie Westby for Attorney General.

Tim Herbst For Connecticut State Treasurer-Why Won't Denise Nappier Debate? Why?

Why won't State Treasurer Denise Nappier engage in a debate with Republican State Treasurer  Tim Herbst?  Don't we as taxpayers deserve it?

We actually have a race here in Connecticut for the under ticket positions in November.  The State Treasurer position is the subject of an intense campaign between our current State Treasurer who has been in office since 1998 and Republican candidate Tim Herbst.  This office controls $26 billion dollars worth of state monies, must hedge all funds against potential losses and maintains the state's credit rating.

We have currently in office a State Treasurer who to me from an economic point of view is completely overwhelmed by the office, is detached from economic reality and really should resign as soon as possible due to her lack of economic/credit knowledge.  However we know in the land of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule that would never happen (however I can always dream).

Mr. Herbst is running an aggressive campaign to unseat Denise Nappier.  From her ignoring Freedom of Information requests, to an irrational push poll created by the Nappier campaign which brings up Herbst's Mother, to absolutely no plan whatsoever to fund the $80 billion dollars in unfunded pension liabilities the state has, State Treasurer Nappier is in over her head.  She has the economic ability to help create a bankruptcy for Connecticut through her lack of action.  This is one state position that does not need a political hack in.  To me $26 billion dollars of taxpayers monies is a great deal of money to be concerned about and she has no concerns at all in my opinion.  And we have the highest state debt per person in the country.  What a great record to run for reelection on!

Tim Herbst is an economically qualified and dynamic candidate for State Treasurer.  He has proven that he can manage and lead by his First Selectman position in Trumbull.  His actions including a lowering of taxers and greater economic development has helped make Trumbull a robust and growing community in our state.  Actions not rhetoric drive Mr. Herbst.  We need a change rapidly in this office to offset the impending economic nightmare which will continue if Nappier remains in office.

I conclude by wondering why State Employee/Taxpayer Funded/State Treasurer Denise Nappier will not debate Tim Herbst?  What is State Employee/Taxpayer Funded/State Treasurer Denise Nappier hiding?  I as a taxpayer would like to know.  Wouldn't you?

Oops! We're Out Of Money!

No big deal we are out of money.  Oops!  You may think I am talking about the $17 Trillion dollar National Debt or possibly Connecticut's future 2014-15 budget deficit of $3 to $4 Billion dollars or even Connecticut's long term $80 Billion dollar debt.
No I am talking about Connecticut Innovations.  Surprised? They have run out of money for this year.
Connecticut Innovations uses taxpayers monies/state bonding to help develop companies with their new products and jobs.  According to their website they have created 26,000 new jobs since their start(I am unsure of the year either 1989 or 1995).  In my economic opinion that is not a great deal of jobs in a 20 year plus period.
I have read and reread their Financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2013.  This is public information on their website also http://www.ctinnovations.com/pdf/CI_Audited_Financials_June-30-2013.pdf   In trying to understand this agency, they had an operating loss of ($17,892,744)  for that fiscal year with operating expenses of $54,517,117 of which $9,237,449 was salaries and benefits for apparently approximately 70 employees and contractors. This is an average of $131,964 per employee and or contractor. They received from the State of Connecticut taxpayers $21,670,000 for that fiscal year also.
To me that is astounding as a taxpayer.  I can only imagine what their fiscal report will read for Fiscal 2013-14.
It is also important to understand that Jackson Laboratories relocation to Connecticut is being handled through this agency.  Remember Jackson Laboratories must create 300 jobs to have a $25 Million dollar loan forgiven by state taxpayers.  That is $83,334 per job paid for by state taxpayers.
However they are now out of money.  They will be asking the State Bonding Commission for $50 Million dollars in new funding at their next state meeting.
No big deal we are out of money.  Oops!
Just more of the same here in Connecticut, state taxpayers footing the bill for the grand illusion of a large, encroaching, and omnipotent quasi-state agency.  Numbers do not lie-they certainly do not in this example of this agency.
No big deal we are out of money, come on Connecticut taxpayers dig deeper today to give them more and more ad infinitum (to infinity).

The Economic Incoherency Of Connecticut

I do not want to use the word stupid.  But in my economic opinion we have an incoherent irrational economic plan and policy in Connecticut in 2014.  And we have had this plan and policy for years now especially since 2011 when we had the largest tax increase in the state’s history and now have a looming (pick a number) $3 to $4 billion dollar deficit upcoming.

 And we have to blame the economic stupidity of the Malloy Administration and Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule for it.  It makes no sense economically to continue what we are doing.

Does it make sense economically to pay a firm using taxpayer’s monies to move from one town in the state to another?

Does it make sense economically to have the highest tax increase in the state’s history only to now have another $3 to $4 billion dollar budget deficit?

Does it make sense to give economic development taxpayer’s monies to only those who are politically connected and then see them disappear with the money?  And never to be heard from and read about it in the news?   For example Hybrid Insurance.

We have no economic plan other than to feed taxpayer’s monies to those who are politically connected in our state.  Winner and losers are chosen by the Malloy Administration and Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule.  And the time has come for it to end.

We need to end the economic stupidity which taxpayers must pay for.  We need for taxpayers to stop being the economic doormat for the politically connected in Hartford.  Economic stupidity.  What we have in Connecticut in 2014 under the Malloy Administration and Hartford’s Omnipotent One Party Rule.

Tom Foley is running for Governor and will provide actual economic leadership for the state-how about a change this November?
