What Is The Plan For Connecticut's Enormous Debt?

I am curious. What is the plan for Connecticut's enormous debt? The Democratic super majority is now pointing fingers apparently at Governor Rell. Why I can not understand from an economics point of view. Connecticut's budget has grown to a ridiculous level over the past twenty years-twenty years of Democratic House and Senate rule along with an economically illiterate liberal Governor Lowell "Income Tax" Weicker. Income Tax Weicker shoved the state income tax down taxpayers throats and we have seen spending increase to astronomical proportions. And we have now incredible short term and long term debt with no end in site.
I am curious as to why we are continuing to trust our economic future to the hands of the tax and spend Democrat party? What is their plan? More taxes and more spending, I can not read anything different.
We really need change if we are going to survive economically. This election the Republicans are offering excellent candidates in Mike Vitali for State Representative in Wallingford, Jerry Farrell, Jr. for Secretary of State, Jeff Wright for Treasurer, Jack Orchulli for Comptroller, Martha Dean for Attorney General and Tom Foley for Governor. We can not economically afford the illogical Democratic super majority rule any longer.

Connecticut's Never Ending Debt-The New Round

A few billion here. A few billion there. What is a few billion dollars if you are the super majority Democratically controlled Connecticut House and Senate. If you are a Democrat you need not worry about the states debt. It is never the Democrats problem it is the other persons problem. Like the minority Republicans or better yet the taxpayers who have to support the constant and persistent wasteful spending of these same super majority Democrats. Then after the election we hear that no programs can be cut thus we must raise taxes. And so it goes over and over again. Like a car with no brakes, there are no fiscal restraints for the super majority. And why should they cut spending and not raise taxes? Simply put, they do not know how.
The road they are leading Connecticut taxpayers down is economically unsustainable and is doing a good job to help ruin our state's economy. It is the road of economic turmoil. Again I ask why would you want to vote these same economically illiterate Democrats back into office come November? Vote them out.

Communism and Rosa DeLauro-Why Are We Not Voting For Jerry Labriola?

Communism is alive and well in Connecticut's Third Congressional District. Going unnoticed by the media and the public was the front page photo in the New Haven Register Thursday 8/12 of Connecticut's Third Congressional District Representative Rosa DeLauro and Communist Party Chairperson Joelle Fishman hugging each other at a party for Social Security's 75th Anniversary. Since when do Communists embrace Social Security? We can see Connecticut's Third Congressional District Representative true political bend. She has now brought her liberalism to a new peak by embracing publicly a Communist. And obviously she is very proud of it. For the Democratic Party is a party of out control. It is a party whose hatred of our country shines through each and every day by the progressive totalitarianism of the Obama Administration and the destruction of the American Economy. Now Connecticut's Third Congressional District Representative Rosa DeLauro has insulted all the Veterans in her district, all the freedom loving individuals in her district and all the taxpayers in her district by this hug.
And she is actually running for reelection. She along with her Democratic friends; Charlie Rangel, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Franks and Harry Reid need to go. The disrespect for our country is sickening. What has she done in all of these years of power? Nothing.
In November the voters of Connecticut's Third Congressional District have a clear choice. Vote for an American, Jerry Labriola for Congress. Please do not let the deaths of all of those who died for our country fighting against Communism be in vain.

Vote for Mike Vitali in the 85th District

Mike Vitali is running for State Representative trying to earn votes to represent Wallingford in the 85th District. He is running against the Queen of tax and spend State Representative Mary Mushinsky who has been in office way too long and has been totally ineffective in representing us for too many years. He is an articulate young man who would have the best interests of Wallingford at heart. He is a local graduate of our school system and has been active in our community. He has refreshing ideas about the excessive taxes we pay in our state, concerned about his generation fleeing our state for better opportunities out of state and is worried about the massive debt Connecticut has. He is a breath of fresh air in this election. He is deserving of your vote in November. Change is essential in Hartford, Mike Vitali can lead that change for us in November. Please vote for him.

$6 Million Of Taxpayer's Monies Wasted

Connecticut Taxpayers do not have representation in Hartford. We have instead taxation without representation. We have a massive state deficit which now throws away an additional $6 million dollars of taxpayers monies on a liberal, wasteful, non productive Utopian political program which does not nothing to balance or make more competitive campaigns in our state. It is obvious if one is running for a national or high state office one needs to be wealthy. And then invest a great deal of that wealth in buying the position he or she wishes. It is comical. The Citizens' Election Program is a waste of time and money and does nothing for our state except to keep in power the economically illiterate Democratic super majority. We need this law to be repealed and for it top stop wasting our money. Connecticut is basically bankrupt. Democrats in Hartford need to understand this and that they are the cause of our economic debacle also.

Where Is Connecticut Headed?

Where is Connecticut headed? What path is being taken given the upcoming election? It seems like the Democrats here in our state are taking credit for a supposed robust economy in which spending has been cut to the bare bones, unfunded liabilities have all been accounted for and jobs are plentiful. In their Utopian state, excessive wasteful patronage spending does not exist, our young fight to stay in state and our tax rate is one of the lowest in the country. Their lies are comical. Just listen to their candidate for Secretary of State Denise Merrill and her irresponsible fiscal rhetoric about what her party has done in past years. Or listen to their ultra liberal tax and spend candidates for Governor who are now supposed fiscal conservatives-there is not a dimes worth of difference between Lamont and Malloy-both are equally unqualified to serve. How many Democratic Representatives and Senators are running away from their votes to increase spending and taxes year in and year out at the time of election? Connecticut is headed to further fiscal and economic turmoil and ineptness with continual votes for Democrats in office in Hartford. We can not afford economically the failed fiscal policies of the Democratic party in our state any longer.
We need private sector jobs, lower taxes, lower state spending, economic growth and real leadership.
In 2010 we need to vote Republican for real change in Hartford.

Why Excessive Bank Fees?

In my economic opinion banks are no longer user friendly. There are now making a large profit at the expense of taxpayers and consumers. Their fee structure is excessive considering banks do not offer any incentives to grow their customer’s savings and help them create wealth. Bank consumers need to be aware of this and not go blindly into their personal finances at 0.01% interest. This to me creates a disincentive to save. The value of your deposit is non existent due to this negative savings rate coupled with massive fees that banks charge you for your various accounts and transactions.
Now add to this a financial reform bill which further insults bank customers and will make it even more difficult to create new wealth in our economy.
The financial industry and this Administration has declared war on the investment and savings consumers and the net result will be a further decline in our economy due to the disincentives to save and invest. Thus what is the point of this policy? To help preserve old wealth, old banking mentality and old politicians who can control it with economically illogical laws, rules and fees? All of these areas harm the banking and investing consumer. Why?

A Financial Reform Bill That Does Not Reform Anything

I have to hand it to Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, they both know very little of our economic and financial systems. They know how to get paid for non productivity through taxpayer's monies for an eternity. They know how to manipulate campaign finance rules to get free money from the same companies they condemn and crucify (I guess shake them down for it). They know how to manipulate the press to their advantage although more and more citizens choose to ignore the mainstream media and their liberal bias. They know how to as in Chris Dodd's case get an illegal sweetheart mortgage that normal bank customers could not get. And they both know how to help screw up our free market financial system through a 2,300 page law that truly makes no economic sense in any way, shape or form.
As with everything in the Obama Presidency just throw something together like a failed economic stimulus, a failed nationalized health care plan and now a failed financial reform law, shove it down taxpayer's throats and then campaign to sell it the public. Just keep wasting time, taxpayer's monies and American economic freedom.
What a pathetic economic debacle we are witnessing compliments of the Obama Administration and a Democratic Congress.

0.01% Interest Rates

I have studied economic history for many years now. In our economic history there have been many credit crises. Each one has been marked by some sort of speculative economic issue that has taken place to help cause it, this past one by the subprime debacle.
Today 0.01% interest rates are currently being paid on many savings and checking accounts. And the banks are borrowing from the Fed at 0% interest and reinvesting that money in Fed/Governmental securities at 2-3% while they do not wish to lend money out nor pay more than .01% on savings/checking accounts. I have a severe issue with this especially when banks are not lending money out especially to small businesses. Why are they not lending money to the backbone of our economy?
The banks and Fed are in my economic opinion doing a great job in prolonging our recession along with an economically illiterate Congress and President. Consumers should be fleeing banks as fast as they can given this negative interest rate. They should be flocking to Credit Unions. And the supposed financial reform does nothing to reform our financial system, it is a half baked fantasy of Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, both who were equally responsible for the subprime crisis.

The Health Care Spin By Rosa DeLauro Or Why You Should Vote For Jerry Labriola

Rosa DeLauro must be running for reelection as can be seen by her recent propaganda piece on the recent socialized health care bill she helped to pass in Congress. This slick taxpayer paid for four color printed piece which was addressed to my daughter (we know she would not send it to anyone else in the house) shows how far out of touch with reality Democrats are with their socialized health care plan. The economic lies are far reaching in this piece. For example how this bill will actually reduce the deficit (which one-yearly or part of the $13 trillion dollar Obama national debt?) by $143 billion dollars in 10 years and then $1.2 trillion in the second ten years is beyond economic logic. How much does the bill actually spend and therefore how can it actually save this mythical money? No one knows because no one understands the economic implications of the ruining of the free market system that this bill embraces along with a socialized health care system that still does not address medical tort reform. How is it paid for? Tax the investments of rich families who earn $250,000 a year? Why? Why are they being penalized for their desire to get ahead in life and follow the free market economic system? Tax it and spend it, more of the same of the stale socialism of Rosa DeLauro and her fellow Democrats. This brochure is just a comical waste of taxpayers monies. Repeal this horrific law which will damage our economy beyond repair and force businesses to forget about expansion. This health care plan will make America sick.
It is a debacle of a bill. Thanks Rosa and by the way, if you are upset then you should vote for Jerry Labriola her opponent in November. Maybe change might then just work.

And The Spill Continues

The late Economist Milton Friedman stated in 1975; “I think that the government solution to a problem is usually as bad as the problem and very often makes the problem worse.” How true he is with regards to the BP oil spill. We can see through this that Mr. Obama loves golf and not to govern during a crisis or really at any other time either. His $20 billion new slush fund extracted from BP will do little to help the situation from an economics point of view. And what is the point of the fund? Are we any closer to capping the well? Have we saved any more marine life by the fund? Is he going to hire some political friends for this new department and or force BP to use union cleanup crews? Are we going to have a czar for it? Are we going to have more daytime hearings by Congress on it which do nothing and prove nothing other than waste more taxpayers monies? Has this administration developed a replacement for all of this oil that has been lost and not drilled so as not to create an economic downturn because of it? Or just the opposite?
Mr. Obama could have taken a leadership role and helped to rectify this crisis-he has chosen not to. It is just another debacle in the long line of debacles that this administration has shown their ineptness in leading our country. And their ineptness in trying to solve economic issues and problems. This November we will see some real change in Congress and even more in November 2012 when he is voted out of office. Cap the spill today. Oh yeah that is right you guys do not want to waste a crisis.

My Father and Me

My father passed away last week. Walter taught me many things. I developed a great love of numbers, finance and the world of business and economics from him. In the 1967 I started to read his copy of the Wall Street Journal (I am 9 years old at the time). I learned about a big world out there, I tried to figure out how to get there at my age but was not able to. I always remember going to the stock brokers office one summer day with him. He had $1000 that he wanted to buy one share of Berkshire Hathaway stock. The broker laughed at him and used all types of reasons why it was a bad investment. Thus my father taking the advise of this expert went to his Plan B and bought Xerox stock instead. My father took a quick profit in it over the next few months and we shared this story many times over the years. What if he had bought it? His life and wealth would have been dramatically different.
The world of finance and business still amazes me today. To make something successful out of a concept is a great accomplishment which is rewarded by profit. There is nothing wrong with profit going to the risk taker. Our economy is based upon it something that is lost in our political system.
I still read the Wall Street Journal daily. And I miss my father and thank him for his teaching this lesson and many others to me at a young age.

Mike Vitali For State Representative In Wallingford's 85th District

Can you imagine serving for 30 years and see the state becoming one of the highest taxed states in the country, have one of the highest debts and borrowing to finance this debt in the country, have one of the greatest exodus of young people leave the state in the country, have one of the worse anti business atmospheres in the country due to a egotistical Attorney General that you back and just see your bond rating drop due to your excessive state spending? Presiding over this social and economic debacle has been State Representative Mary Mushinsky. And why do Wallingford voters keep bringing her back to office? For several years it has been because the Republicans could not field a candidate.
As was the case in 2008 and now in 2010, a strong, viable and conservative candidate has emerged from the wreckage called representation. Mike Vitali will run against the Mushinsky and Democratic political machine this fall. He will be running as a David against the Goliath of tax and spend in Hartford. He will be running against a liberal who has helped to decay Connecticut through massive social welfare programs and irrational laws.
Mr. Vitali offers a refreshing change to the stale policies and theories of Representative Mushinsky. His thoughts on jobs, taxes and spending are unique. He actually feels that taxpayers do not have an infinite amount of money to spend on unlimited taxes to fuel wasteful state programs. He is concerned with the younger generation fleeing the state. He feels the state wastes a great deal of money.
I will be talking more about Mr. Vitali in the coming months. He is a breath of fresh air for the taxpayers of Wallingford and he deserves your vote in November.

The Blame Of The Oil Spill

Politicians in my economic opinion love a good crisis. They can work the media to their advantage looking and feeling important. They try to show who is in charge and why they are so good at what they do. A crisis can stroke a politician's ego to the point of no return.
Thus as of today, I feel we are at a point of no return economically with the massive oil spill in Louisiana which still has been capped nor looks like it will be capped any time soon. However, we have a great deal of the political blame game carrying on with the media enjoying each minute of this crisis. I personally feel sorry for those businesses who will probably go under from this, all the new unemployed of the region and the massive losses of wildlife that has taken place. It is a tragedy of enormous proportions.
Yet I see no leadership from the President. He seems confused that a crisis of this magnitude needs to be addressed. He seems confused that the American public does not like the way he governs (if one can actually can call it governing). His embracing of government solving all of the problems of our country and the world for that matter seems to be imploding. And the oil keeps flowing with no end in sight. The American public can embrace that the end of governing by this President will mercifully end in 2012. Or did it ever begin?

How Is The Blumenthal Flap Over?

Just because he sent an email apology. What a coward, he could not even do it front of his cronies or for that matter even real Vietnam veterans who actually fought in Vietnam. Dick Blumenthal did everything he could to avoid service and time in Vietnam. And he has the audacity to ask these same veterans and families of those who lost their loved ones fighting in Vietnam to vote for him. Why? Why does Dick Blumenthal feel privileged now? After his lies about his service. About his disrespect for the Uniform of the United States Marines. It is absurd that he should even be running with his now soiled and tarnished image. His image of making Connecticut an anti business state with its egotistical and self serving Attorney General.
And his campaign just feels that it is behind them now and they can really attack Linda McMahon. Why? Because in my opinion the flap is not over, nor will it be over until after the election when Dick Blumenthal loses his campaign and Connecticut voters actually speak out against this liar.

Just What Connecticut Needs Another Lying Senator

The chosen one has misspoken. How does one do that? How does one get confused about what one did during war time? Was it that many years ago?
Now come the twists. The chosen one has fallen. The all powerful Connecticut Attorney General who has smashed and destroyed many over the years may have been beaten at his own game. A lie. Misspoken.
This is what Connecticut really needs another liar for a Senator. Dodd still has not come clean with regards to his sweetheart mortgage deals and the money that he has taken in donations over the years from the financial industry. Now the Blumenthal debacle. What horrific candidates the Connecticut Democrats put up for office. Just what Connecticut taxpayers need another lying Senator. Wait, I guess we have now a lying Attorney General. All at the taxpayers expense.

Taxpayers Can You Spare Me $148 Billion?

Taxpayers can you spare me $148 billion. I am Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This is is the amount I have cost you so far in the bailouts of us. I am bankrupt but you as a taxpayer must continue to prop me up. I have to continue to back loans which I know will never be paid back. All in the good faith of the Democratic party which made people buy homes who could never afford them and keep them there without having to pay their mortgages. In an effort to buy votes. I ask again taxpayers can you spare me $148 billion?
After all $148 billion in a $12 trillion dollar national debt is meaningless. We are a bankrupt country. Economics is meaningless to the Obama Administration and Democratic Congress. The continual taxpayer bailout of these failed mortgages and loans needs to end today. These mortgages will not become better by throwing money at them. It is an economic disgrace to taxpayers for it to continue. Rather than blaming the banking industry, the blame for this economic debacle may be found by the Obama Administration and the Democratic Congress.

All 5 Democratic Congressional Seats Are Not Safe

That is right. All five Connecticut Congressional seats are not safe. If anything the Democrats who supposedly represent Connecticut have to be fearful of the massive backlash that is currently being felt in the state. Unknown to the biased media, Connecticut taxpayers at all levels are disgusted with the lack of leadership and governing that the Democrats claim to offer. U.S. Reps. John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes and Chris Murphy are all political hacks with a desire to help bankrupt our country through a socialized economy, socialized health care, socialized cap and trade and a runaway, massive national debt. Unlimited spending and the bankruptcy of our economic future with nothing to show for it. You as a voter and a taxpayer really want to reelect these people?
That is right. All five Connecticut Congressional seats are not safe. Let us vote these economically inept representatives out of office in November. What a breath of fresh air that would be.

What Are 290,000 Jobs to 20 Million People Unemployed?

How many people are really unemployed in our economy? And what is really being done to create private sector jobs in our economy? A published 9.9% unemployment rate is more like a 17% unemployment rate when taking into account those who have given up looking for work and are off unemployment roles, still out of work. The supposed great news twisted by our biased media of 290,000 new jobs coupled with an increase of the established unemployment rate to 9.9% is ridiculous. It follows no fundamental economic logic whatsoever. It is horrendous employment news in my economic opinion. We still have massive unemployment and this administration has now had 17 months to try to do something other than forcing socialistic economic policies down our economy's throat which have further eroded our job market. 290,000 jobs are meaningless to the millions who are unemployed today. This band aid is useless to the overall job market. Let the free market system create new jobs through lower taxes, less governmental regulations and a balanced governmental budget with a forceful plan to eliminate the national debt. Try telling that to those who are unemployed. By the way who got those 290,000 jobs? Democratic story tellers?

Stop Taking Campaign Donations

If capitalism is that bad, why do political candidates take campaign contributions from companies and corporations in our economy? Is capitalism is that evil why do political candidates sell themselves to the highest bidder? If money and wealth is that bad for our economy, why does the political system embrace taking it to help them buy their election? Chris Dodd is an excellent example of this theory. And the list is endless on both sides of the political spectrum. This debacle of selling their votes and office have help to erode our economy in my economic opinion and it needs to stop. Democracy does not function when being sold to the highest bidder and for those who can afford to buy their elected officials. Congress, a fantasy land of wealth, nobility and unlimited perks needs to reform itself with regards to its payoffs.
Or we need a new form of Democracy minus the self serving, stale, corrupted elected officials found at the Federal and state levels.
Stop taking cash. Stop this way of government.

When Illegal Means Democrat Votes

Such a fuss over the new Arizona Immigration Law. In my economic opinion this new law will help their economy and law enforcement agencies. I am confused by liberals and Democrats who do not understand that an illegal immigrant is here illegally and it is against the law for them to be here. These same laws that should be enforced and are not are paid for by taxpayers like you and me. We do not see positive economic results when you have people breaking the law like these illegal immigrants. Why is it difficult to understand that illegal immigrants are here in our country illegally and need to be sent back to their countries? My grandparents legally immigrated to the United States, become United States citizens and worked all of their lives without any type of governmental aid. They helped to make our country. Illegal immigrants do not help in this manner, they are a huge drain to our states economies.
But I know that the Democrat party can not wait to make all of those illegal immigrants legal so they get them registered and working/voting for their party. Thus illegal in this case is a means to the end, another Democratic vote for more damage to our economy.

Does Financial Reform Mean Continuous Bailouts?

No, I am skeptical about a financial reform bill that still inhibits the free market and credit systems. I am skeptical since it still allows for massive bailouts of private financial systems by allowing the FDIC to continue to borrow taxpayers monies to help finance these same companies financial woes. Banks still being viewed as bad guys by this administration yet both parties still reap their rewards of campaign donations that these same banks give to them. Just look at the millions of dollars and favors that Chris Dodd has received from this sector. Thus financial reform in Dodd's eyes still means constant bailouts using taxpayers funds. A dependent financial system with no end in sight. This bill is an useless waste of time for all. Just as this Congress is an useless waste of taxpayers monies, bailout or no. Financial reform does mean constant bailouts-forever.

The Democrats Dilemma Of Money

What are the Democrats going to do with their big, bad campaign donations from Goldman Sachs and other big, bad financial institutions they shake money down from? And why do these same companies feel compelled to give this money? Locally politicians like Dick Blumenthal now takes campaign contributions from PACs in this Senatorial campaign-desperate for cash to buy his way into the Senate, apparently trying to emulate Chris Dodd who never met cash he would turn down. Maybe taxpayers of Connecticut can remember that in his legacy. Thus money flows freely to the Democrats in one hand and in the other hand we hear the constant condemnation of the free market, capitalistic system. It is ironic to taxpayers that we are forced to accept this situation as part of the corruptness of campaign contribution shakedowns.
Voters will change this come November. The Democrats dilemma of money.

Chris Dodd and His Never Ending Bailout of Himself

Chris Dodd has a huge never ending and never satisfying ego. As a Connecticut taxpayer he has also done nothing for me economically nor does he really understand our economy as shown by his latest debacle of a financial reform bill. Bailouts or shakedowns of companies going under apparently will be financed by taxes on these companies who will be called in to merge with the financially insolvent company. Those who use these companies will naturally have to pay these taxes meaning you and I the consumer. The new type of bailouts to me will be viewed in political rather than economic terms. Again the bill is massive in length, no one has been able to read through it and it does nothing other than add a new level of regulation with no other purpose than to add more socialism to our economy. Thus what is the point of the new Dodd bill? Economically I do not understand Dodd's logic nor do I understand why he is still representing Connecticut?
Dodd's never ending bailout of himself, the companies that have donated to his campaigns and his unethical behavior mercifully comes to a halt in a few months. This bill represents just another waste of taxpayer's monies by Chris Dodd.

The Two Presidents of Southern Connecticut State University At Connecticut Taxpayer's Expense

Now let me try to figure this waste of Connecticut taxpayer's monies. Southern Connecticut State University had a capable President in Cheryl Norton. She apparently was not wanted by Connecticut State University System Chancellor David G. Carter, who apparently can hire and fire at will with no checks or balances in the state's University system. He hires Stanley Battle, former president of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, as the new interim president of Southern. Apparently Battle and Carter were colleagues at Eastern Connecticut State University when Carter was Eastern's president in the 1990s, hey so what's wrong with a little cronyism in education at taxpayer's expense? Thus taxpayers will be footing a the bill for two Southern Presidents and we are not allowed to know why Norton was dismissed in the first place. Norton still gets paid for one year at $280,000 plus while Battle gets paid for the same position at $280,000 plus. What a waste of taxpayer's monies in the time of an economic crisis.
And by the way as a graduate of Southern, do not ever bother asking me a for a donation to the school again. If you can afford two presidents, then you have more than enough money to operate your school.

The Opposition Starts-The Mushinsky Survey

I enjoy state elections. I am always optimistic of change, when Democrats at a state and national level are voted out of office and responsible governing might actually take place in both Hartford and Washington. It is the time of year when "concerned" State Representatives like Wallingford's Mary Mushinsky send out their surveys to try to show they somehow care about what taxpayers actually think. Her survey which I received in the mail yesterday is comical in nature. She has many teaser questions-what are our concerns and what do we fear? Why should we fear anything if we actually had leadership and effective government in Hartford and Washington? And since Mushinsky has been in office for so many years overseeing this economic debacle has developed with her Democratic Super Majority in Hartford, I would venture to guess that most taxpayers in her district fear two more years of Democrat rule in Hartford coupled with still yet higher taxes and higher spending. Her party's budget offers yet $353+ million in higher spending while the state is
$500+million in a deficit and has the audacity to ask if we as taxpayers favor or do not favor yet even higher taxes in the state. There is no economic reasoning whatsoever by Mushinsky and her fellow Democrats. They are the reason why Connecticut is #1 in taxes, virtually last in new job development and economic growth. The Democrats should actually take responsibility for their lack of leadership in Hartford.
The opposition has started, surveys like hers do nothing for overburdened taxpayers in her District. She will ignore them as she has done in the past and continue to vote for higher spending and higher taxes. We can no longer afford in Connecticut a Democratic Super Majority. The time is now for change.

Still No Word On Health Costs And New Taxes

The super secret 2000+ page socialist health care bill is still really not being discussed in depth by the administration. The administrations fears are well founded once citizens and small business owners start seeing the higher costs for more limited health care and new taxes which this socialized health care bill brings to them. Taxpayers will be even more up in arms over the now runaway national debt which soon will be unable to be financed through treasury sales. No prudent investor will want to buy it any more.
All for the sake of limited and rationed care. All for the beauty of an elitist President who has no sense of economic reality in his dream socialist state he is trying to create for our country. All for the lies he told throughout the campaign about cooperation and lack of transparency.
And I still have no word on health care costs and new taxes by the administration.

Bysiewicz-Blumenthal-What Is A Title Anyways?

I could have saved a great deal of money in lawyer's fees if I had known that Susan Bysiewicz represented me for all the years she has been a Secretary of State. For the closings, and all the other areas of legal issues that I had I forgot just to give her a call. She was actually representing me and as such I did not need to pay all of those fees for the past 11 years, she could have handled it all (and I am sure at no charge also). Stupid me.
The Connecticut Democratic party has shown even more so how out of touch it is in governing with this ridiculous waste of taxpayers monies now for Bysiewicz and her political goals. It is bad enough they have a horrendous and inept Senatorial candidate in Richard Blumenthal and his liberal/anti business views coupled now with a non lawyer wanting the highest legal job in the state. What a farce of government.
A Republican tide is brewing in our liberal, anti-business, highly taxed state. Maybe sanity can be restored come November.

Connecticut Youth-Going, Going, Gone

It is almost graduation time. My daughter will be graduating along with many of her peers in May from the University of Connecticut. UConn is supposedly less expensive than private schools but more expensive than other state schools. To date myself I spent less than $500 a semester with books to attend a state college back in the late 70's. Luckily my daughter got a CA position and was spared the costs of room for her last two years of college. Financial aid is really not seen for Connecticut residents attending state schools. Thus the cost of education is rationed by value and its costs. Still a 4 year state school education cost over $75,000+ just for tuition and room and board. Not counting expensive books, computers and personal expenses.
However many students who were born in this state will leave for graduate school out of state. This is due to several reasons including not being accepted by state colleges (as in my daughter's case and many of her friends)and for better opportunities out of our state. Thus the brain drain of the best and brightest will continue. Connecticut does little to retain its youth. An expensive bureaucracy of a higher education system, poor leadership, excessive taxes, high real estate costs and few jobs will continue to drive generation upon generation of our youth out of Connecticut. The losses are staggering. And the silence deafening by our supposed leaders in retaining our youth.

Unemployment Rages On

Yes unemployment rages on. There is no end in sight. There is no economic plan, no economic rationalization, no free market incentives, nothing. Washington is lost in its own self actualization, self glorification, self awareness of how great they are. However they have absolutely no economic plan to deal with unemployment.
16 months into this Administration of wonder and economic illiiteracy, we still have massive levels of unemployment, massive tax increases on the horizon and little if any positive economic news. All due to the fact of a poor, non existent economic plan that this Administration has chosen to follow.
Unemployment continues to rage, two years of unemployment benefits is ridiculous and not needed. Free market incentives are essential to get our economy back on its feet. You think that in 16 months it could have been done-tell that to those who are unemployed.
Remember this when you vote in November.

Economic Stagnation Caused By Socialized Health Care

There will be great economic stagnation created by the socialized health care bill rammed down taxpayers throats last week. Economic stagnation occurs when there are high levels of unemployment/underemployment and inflation. Inflation for our economy is right around the corner as health care insurance premiums and health care costs will skyrocket under the unconstitutional, socialized health care plan being forced on our economy. Insurance companies will send rates upward while the bill will be enacted and costs for procedures and visits (which are unknown to the medical consumer) will also go up before implementation. Thus our economy will now have a massive amount of their take home incomes go to rationed health care giving medical consumers much higher costs with less services. From an economics point of view how does this help our economy? And why was it allowed to happen? There will great economic stagnation created by the socialized health care bill, which will take many years for our economy to recover from. What a waste of economic good for our economy at the time of an economic recession. And the most insulting part of it is that politicians must now campaign to those who they supposidly represent to tell them how great this debacle is. What an injustice to our economy and country.

The New Economic Costs of Socialized Health Care

I still feel that socialized health care will be repealed when Republicans take control of Congress in 2011. Until that time we must realistically look at the new economic costs which are now being viewed because of the socialized, unconstitutional health care bill rammed through by Congress. ATT will be charging back $1 billion dollars to cover the new changes in medical care. It is $1 billion dollars that it can no longer spend on product development, expansion of services, hiring more employees, lowering consumer bills or paying raises to employees. It is $1 billion dollars taken out of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is no longer productive money which could create economic growth. It is now going to a non productive socialized social welfare program which will not have any positive results for it in our economy. Another economic example is Caterpillar which will have now $100 million in new expenses because of this bill. Again Caterpillar does not have $100 million dollars that it can no longer spend on product development, expansion of services, hiring more employees, lowering consumer bills or paying raises to employees. Multiply this same situation by companies throughout our country and you will see the following; a greater economic recession, a higher national debt which can no longer be financed, more unemployment, higher prices for consumer products, higher health care costs and lastly higher taxes.
All at a time during economic recession. Economic reality will settle in for the Democrats at all levels of government. This horrific economic bill will guarantee their minority status for years to come. I just hope our economy can survive this economic debacle until November.

The Speaker Of The House Wants Your Money When You Die

Chris Donovan wants your money. Better yet he demands it when you die. After all dead people who have paid taxes all of their lives and were taxed on it all of their lives, need to pay more when they die. They need when they are dead to help support the Speakers social welfare programs which are economically inefficient and help waste taxpayers monies year in and year out. Dead people through his 3.5% tax on their estates need to pay more when they die. By taxing dead people the Democrats feel that more economic growth will take place in our already overtaxed state. From what school of economics this comes from is beyond me. It will just lead even more wealthy people out of the state and to states which are tax friendly.
Our state government needs a desperate change. It is obvious to me Mr. Donovan has never worked a productive day in his life and lives in an economic fantasy land. We as taxpayers must support his lack of leadership and his failed programs.
November 2010 is coming and his super majority will come to a grinding halt.

Connecticut Democrats To Connecticut Taxpayers- Drop Dead If You Think We Will Cut Spending

I really have to hand it to the Connecticut Democratic super majority and their budget plan. Let's increase spending by $353 million dollars and raise taxes. Yawn. So what else is new? More, higher, greater spending coupled with the same stale government excesses and you have the Connecticut Democratic super majority. How can the Democrats be serious to raise spending by another $353 million dollars while they still have not solved the $1 billion dollar deficit that we are in? How economically illiterate can they be? This is the most ridiculous state budget I have seen in my life. Do they understand what unemployment is and what an economic recession is?
I truly hope that the voters of Connecticut finally wake and vote these elitists out of office in November. No matter at what level of government, the Democratic party is out of touch with any type of economic reality and they have no ability to lead or govern. This budget is just another shining example of it.

Airport Repairs=Health Care Reform

Yes in 2010 airport repairs equals health care reform. Especially if you are an anti-abortion Representative Congressmen from Michigan. Earmarks in a health care bill that have nothing to do with health care. What a sell out. In other words change that you can believe in. I vaguely remember that earmarks were going to be eliminated in this administration of transparency. Just another lie to the American taxpayer. Just like the lies of the socialized health care bill signed by Mr. Obama. In other words change that you can believe in. A bill so bad that now it has to be campaigned on to brainwash the American taxpayer to accept it and love it. In other words change that you can believe in. To pass a bill so bad, so disheveled, so irrational, so debt ridden that you now have to sell it. Like a used car salesman.
There is absolutely no leadership found in Washington. None from Mr. Obama and none from Congress. A lost four years. Vote this debacle out of office in November and do not support economically those who embrace it. In other words change that you can really believe in.

I Am Really Sick Now-Work To Repeal This Debacle

Hey I am really sick now, but wait in 2013, I will never have to worry about it again. From my bankrupted federal government I will have socialized health care brought to me by gerrymandering, earmarks and excessively high taxes. Need an operation? Just wait until 2013, no problem. Medicine? Just wait until the generic comes out in 2013, produced in China. Specialist visit? Just wait until 2013 when the handful of medical specialists left will possibly see you. Medicare? Hey it is for everyone now, elderly will not need it now since most of their care will be eliminated and they can die sooner.
The nicest part of this bill however rests upon the theory and reality that the Democratic party for many years from this day forward will be a minority party in government at all levels. They have truly shown their incompetence to lead and govern with this debacle of a bill. They have shown how far out of touch with reality they are in 2010.
I am even more sick now than I was when I started writing this. Is it 2013 yet?
Repeal this bill.

Socialized Health Care Follies

It is the biggest show in town, the socialized health care follies, it is the biggest rip-off American taxpayers have ever had to accept. It is comical, unconstitutional, deadly, sickening and more. It is your United States Congress at work and at play. It is the circus of unconstitutional role playing and law breaking done by the most despised citizens of our country, the United States Congress. It is a free-for-all, in your face, smash mouth, the most public be damned piece of legislation in the history of our country. It is the skyrocketing national debt that this folly will give to American taxpayers. It is the twist, spins and deceptions socialized health care presents for a corrupt Congress and its cronies. It is the laws broken, the never-ending debt and chaos that will ensue from this piece of thrash that is being rammed down taxpayers throats.
Our course of history will change as we must fight about socialized health care and forget about all of the other more important issues that needed to be viewed in 2010.
Maybe the clowns of Congress will tell that to your unemployed neighbor. What a disgrace our federal government has become.

Unknown Socialized Health Care

Can someone explian to me what is so revolutionary about the Obama/House/Senate health care bills? What is the point of them other than to help senior citizens be denied health care when they need it the most? What is the point of these bills which are unknown to taxpayers other than to ration health care and contribute greatly to the national debt? What is the point of these bills other than to place control of our health care in a governmental commission? What is the point of these bills which are a secret to the American public?
What is the point of socialized medicine which will not making us any healthier, not do anything to lower insurance rates, not doing anything for tort reform, not do anything to save the supposed 70 to 5,000 people who die daily because of no health insurance (where they get this figure is beyond me)? How deaf is Washington to those who they are supposidly governing, we do not this failed law to pass? Start over and show us what real health care reform should look like, interstate medical plans, posted prices, real tort reform, well care and the list is endless.
By passing this failed bill most in Congress will be looking for jobs in January along with the 17% who are currently unemployed-the sign on the door will read former Congressmen and women need not apply.

Another Poor Economic Chocie By The Obama Administration

I truly wonder how economically detached the Obama Administration itself and its advisers are from real world economics. Massive national debt that soon will not be able to be financed, a massive unemployment rate of 17%, massive tax increases, massive socialized health care, states bankrupt and the list goes on.
Janet Yellen is the newest debacle forming for this economically illiterate bunch. Yellen is being appointed as the Federal Reserve Vice Chairperson. Yellen is currently President of the San Francisco Fed and has some strong economist theories. However she believes in the Phillips Curve trade-off between inflation and unemployment. This means that we are constantly giving up one for the other in our economy. These theorists believe that due to America's economic prosperity and due to too many people working we have inflation. I disagree with this theory (even though I must touch upon Phillips in my classes), economic prosperity should be the goal of any economic policy. Let the supply side do its own thing and create, fuel and extend economic growth through investments, capital gains and dividends. This is what creates jobs in our economy, not a handful of political patronage government jobs that provide no productivity nor provide any growth in GDP.
Yellen and her theories will be a boom for inflation and will help to keep our unemployment rates high for the coming future in my economic opinion. I no longer understand what the Fed's policies are in 2010. It just furthers the economic illiteracy this administration shows the educated American public.

The Mythical Blumenthal Job Creation Tool

Do you how you create jobs in Connecticut? If you are Attorney General Self-Appointed Acting United States Senator Richard Blumenthal you sue legitimate businesses. That is how Mr. Blumenthal explained it in his debate with his opponent Merrick Alpert at their recent University of Hartford debate. "...our law suits, our legal actions, actually create jobs, because businesses actually welcome competition and a level playing field.”, stated Blumenthal. Since I have taught Economics for 28 years now I am trying to find an economic principle whereby an aggressive State Attorney General "levels" a playing field and creates economic stimulation, economic growth and actually creates jobs. It does not exist and the Acting Senator is absolutely wrong in his assertions. His combative nature has done little if anything other than drive businesses out of state and made the remaining businesses fear the enormous costs that his office can place on their business for no reason at all. Jobs are not created by him or the state or his economically illiterate Democrat party. Jobs are created by the free market system not by a press grabbing, opportunistic Attorney General.
Mr. Blumenthal will have a very difficult race on his hands and to me looks like a massive loss will be on his horizon come November. Connecticut voters and taxpayers have had enough of this type of job creation. Just ask the New England Pellet Company and countless other former Connecticut businesses.

How Does Socialized Health Care Equal Jobs?

Can someone explain this to me? How does socialized health care equal new jobs? Where are the jobs being created from? By the artificial capping of rates, premiums and policies, socialized health care will decrease the already shrinking job market in our economy and help to create more long term national debt. It will make our elderly population suffer with its rationed care. Jobs will not be created when small businesses will be fined for not offering health insurance, if anything it will force more employers to cut back hiring and or eliminate jobs. Business may hire more consultants and or outside vendors so as not to pay the fine or the now new inflated costs of health care insurance. Rates will rise quickly and severely with socialized health care limiting choices, services and good health. Chaos will be assured for our medical care in our country.
And the question must be why? Why is the Obama administration that far separated from the economic reality of the damage this program will do to our economy? Poor and leaderless government is what we have with this administration and its failed socialized health care which in no way shape or form creates jobs.

So Who Will Pay For His Socialized Health Care Plan?

So-who will pay for his socialized health care plan? Who is actually going to be covered and at what cost? Why are they going to be covered? What is actually going to covered? How many citizens are actually without health care? How many are illegal immigrants? How much will this plan add to the national debt? Why are healthy citizens being forced to lower their coverages? Why is not Congress accepting their own health care plan that they are forcing on our country? Where in the United States Constitution does it state that health care is a right and can be mandated by the Federal Government? Why is coverage to senior citizens being cut when they are the ones who need health care the most? Why is there no tort reform being discussed? Why aren't all health care procedures, hospital stays and doctors visits charges fully advertised for consumers to see and understand what it actually costs them? Why is medical malpractice insurance so costly?
It is too bad that the Obama administration can not answer any of these questions. We do not want socialized health care in America.

Health Care At Any Cost

Yes we must have health care at any cost. Congress must vote on it no matter what. There needs to be no compromise, no debate, just ram it down taxpayers throats and be done with it. Who cares anyways? Taxpayers are experiencing an out-of-touch one term President who is desperately trying to show our country why his programs are better and are necessary for our well-being. Yet not understanding anything about the concept of economic costs or the pending national bankruptcy due to a national debt of $13 trillion dollars and rising, he must force this failed agenda down taxpayers throats. And at the same time a massive cover-up continues with Mr. Rangel and his lies. Double standards thrive in this administration and taxpayers are sick of this rhetoric, sick of the Washington lies and sick of the direction of our country.
America needs leadership and economic growth not chronic new taxes to rape the vibrancy of our economy. We can not afford socialized health care nor can we afford a $13 trillion dollar national debt.

The Illogical and Economically Damaging Policies of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

There are illogical and economically damaging policies of the government run Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac mortgage giants which will impact taxpayers for years to come. Washington in its quest to buy votes by placing everyone they possibly could in a home must now face the economically damaging policies set forth by these two agencies. Fannie and Freddie own well over $5 trillion dollars in mortgages in our credit markets. How much of that $5 trillion is good or bad is truly unknown to the taxpayers who are underwriting them. You see there is no accounting of the actual exposure to the mortgages for taxpayers. Is $4 trillion bad debt? $3 trillion? Pick a number and your guess is as good as mine. Taxpayers have no idea how much of their monies have been wasted by these two agencies of economic liberalism. My realistic guess is that half of their portfolio will be written off as either bad debt or drop in value over the next five years. In other words taxpayers will be out $2.5 trillion dollars of their monies.
I wonder why the Obama administration is afraid of accounting for our monies? Would it be damaging? These failed housing policies continue to go unchecked in Washington. Taxpayers need to demand to see where our monies are being spent once and for all.

America's Lost Years 2009-2012

4 years lost. I personally hate to waste time. 2009,2010,2011,2012 will be known as America's lost years. Lost economically, lost militarily, lost politically and lost for future generations. Lost in the sense of a lack of leadership, a lack of a vision and a lack of a plan. 4 years lost.
Runaway federal deficit spending. A lack of a strong military. A super majority Congress completely out of touch with either economic or political realities. 4 years lost.
A campaign to nothingness that never ends. Mediocre accomplishments that are meaningless and prove nothing. And a national debt which has the ability to completely bankrupt the economy. To be paid for by those yet unborn. 4 years lost.
Why must we waste these four years with this ineptness?
I really would like to know-we as voters and taxpayers of our country truly deserved better than this debacle that we have sitting in Washington.

Once Again Nationalized Health Care Shoved Down Our Throats

I really have to hand it to the Obama Administration. They really are in tune with the American public and taxpayers in general. What his latest move? Along with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, he would support holding a reconciliation vote on a public option. Even though the American public and taxpayers do not want it, let us ram socialized health care down our throats. Let us go against our democracy and the will of the American people and force them to accept the liberalism of this administration which is out of touch with the economic reality of 2010. By doing this I feel comfortable in the view that the Democrats should lose even more seats in 2010 in both the House and the Senate. I am sure Dick Blumenthal agrees with this move also-what hasn't he gone on record showing his support for it? After all isn't he our new Senator from Connecticut?
I as a taxpayer have had enough. And I am sure most taxpayers have had enough of this illogical plan. We do not want nationalized health care-done by a reconciliation vote and Congress will truly see the wrath of the American voting public-today, tommorrow and for the future.

UConn's Tuition Up, Up and Away!

Hey what's another 6.3% tuition increase. Tuition at UConn has only gone up 55% in ten years adjusted for inflation. And UConn will be hiring even more employees for the upcoming year. And where will it end? Doesn't state taxpayers contribute a great deal to the upkeep and budget of UConn each year? And what are they actually receiving for it? We know the school can not do without. That is not acceptable to taxpayer funded education. We know no expense can be cut back and or monies saved each fiscal year. No,we hear more of the same all of the time, raise tuition and fees and be happy about it. And how much will be the increase in 2010-11? Another 6.3%?
Thus higher education is continuing to be priced out of the range of the working middle class here in Connecticut. And graduates why do you wish to stay here after you graduate? I do not know.

Of Course Washington Wishes To Raise Taxes

Of course Congress wishes to raise taxes. You as educated citizens do not know what is good for you. It is much better for elite and corrupt members of Congress to dictate to you what you can and can't have. Shame on you for questioning this failed logic. Of course Mr. Obama stated during the campaign he was not going to raise taxes and of course now he wishes to raise them seeing that he has helped to bankrupt our government in 13 months. And naturally Congress with its negative approval ratings embraces more redistribution of wealth during a recession showing their economic illiteracy at every step. I could never imagine the economic debacle that is playing out today in Washington. I could never imagine the lack of leadership that we have in our economy today. I can also see why the Tea Party movement is growing in strength and is becoming a positive dynamic political force in the upcoming elections. We need change in Washington and we need it to start immediately. An elitist Congress coupled with an inexperienced President will help our recession continue for years. And no there is no way 95,000 new jobs will be created monthly, it is economic fantasy.
Economic reality will change the course of Congress in November.

Let Us Tax Connecticut Lobbyists

Here is thinking out of the box: let us tax Connecticut lobbyists. There are 3789 lobbyists representing 1327 clients that were registered in the state as of 2008. I do not have the figures for 2009. But wait here is a golden opportunity to help pay for the $1 billion dollar budget deficit in 2010 and the $58 billion +/- in unfunded liabilities that Connecticut has, TAX LOBBYISTS! Why wasn't this thought of before? The 3789 registered lobbyists from both sides of the political aisle can be taxed and taxed and taxed a little more. The heck with just registration fees let us tax them to death like we tax private citizens and businesses here in our state. What is good for us should be good for them.
I urge taxpayers in our state to bombard their elected Super Majority Democratic Representatives and Senators to force them to pass a new tax on these 3789 non productive and costly lobbyists who have help to create the ruinous economic landscape that we have today.
Let us tax Connecticut lobbyists today-we can not afford to wait another second.

A $1.6 Trillion Dollar Federal Budget Deficit Means Fiscal Restraint

Yes, a $1.6 trillion dollar budget deficit means fiscal restraint. It could have been $1.7 trillion dollars or any number picked out of the surrealistic Democratic sky. It apparently is a bi-partisan budget deficit that Mr. Obama is talking about, a budget deficit which actually saves dollars like the stimulus plan which saved jobs. What dollars that are saved is economically unclear to me (and what do I know about economics?) and how the United States is going to fund a $14 trillion dollar national debt is also economically unclear to me since trillions dollars of wealth have been lost in this recession. Also equally unclear to me is why the Obama Administration wishes to raise so many taxes on individuals and investors especially those making $50,000 to $499,999. a year? What does this prove-greater supposed redistribution of wealth? Isn't there irony in this situation, while Congress controls their personal wealth?
Higher taxes, higher debt and more fiscal irresponsibility by the Obama Administration. 2010 is here and voting has begun. The end of this fiscal irresponsibility is fast approaching. Please do not lie to me about economics, there is no fiscal restraint being shown by this Administration.

Why Federal Spending Will Not Be Cut

Federal spending will not be cut. Politically there can never be fiscal conservatism and a cutting of excessive taxes. Spending drives politics in Washington. Washington buys its influence and votes through excessive spending. The most fiscally irresponsible spending usually the higher stakes (although it has put Chris Dodd out to pasture and has caused Ted Kennedy to turn in his grave). Earmarks drives elections and re-elections, thus for such a fiscally irresponsible President to now call for superficial spending cuts and freezes on such a small part of the budget, it will do nothing for the massive national debt he is responsible for. Now add another $1.6 trillion dollars to that debt for the coming fiscal year. Why? And taxpayers must embrace this budget? A budget that is fiscally irresponsible and mismanaged. One year from now I will be writing about the coming $14 trillion dollar national debt. A debt that buys votes and that is all. A debt that is ruining our economy and children's future.
Yes, federal spending will not be cut. Words are cheap and economics not understood in this administration.

Democrats Spoil Mayor Dickinson's Party

The Democratic party at all levels of government loves to spend money. They love to force unnecessary costs on all of us. I really have to laugh at Wallingford Democratic Town Chairmen Vincent Avallone's complaint of a dinner in which Wallingford Mayor Bill Dickinson will be honored for the many years of positive service to the town. The Mayor will not receive any funds from the dinner nor are any funds being raised for any political purpose. Any money which is above and beyond the expenses of the dinner will be donated to several different Wallingford civic organizations.
Thus according to the Democrats it is against state election law since even though no money has been raised for any candidate, Mr. Avallone feels that this is a testimonial for the Mayor and can't be done. Thus he files the complaint. Now we have the paradox of this argument. Here is the Democratic party in Wallingford which can not even field a candidate for Mayor in the last election, doing whatever it can to find fault with the Republicans in town and their majorities in the Mayor's office, Town Council and Board of Education. We can also assume that the most critical issue in Wallingford today is if this simple dinner can be allowed to go on or not, or must it cost the Republicans a large fine to the state thanks to the legalese of Mr. Avallone. And the other big loser will be the Wallingford civic organizations who would have benefited from receiving money from the dinner. Thus the Democrats have helped to promote another lose-lose situation. They can not field a candidate to run against Dickinson, they condemn his dinner as being against state law and they are against civic organizations in our town receiving donations. If you are a registered Democrat in Wallingford, I would truly question why your leadership must resort to this foolishness. Maybe your party could be spending the time to actually field real candidates for local office. Oh I forgot, this is really the most crucial issue in Wallingford today. It is obvious why the Wallingford Democrats are in the minority in 2010 and will be for a long period of time in the future.

Why Are Economic Plans Difficult To Create?

Why are economic plans difficult to create? In my economic opinion, our political system. Our political system seems to be made up with individuals who either have inherited old money and never have worked a day in their lives, have been in public service and never worked a productive day in their lives or have been able to manipulate the political system to their advantage and also have never worked a productive day in their lives. Therefore, our political system negates productivity as deals must be constantly made to enact legislation all of which cost taxpayers (in theory those who produce) more and more of their real income. Taxpayers must be productive in order to earn income. They are allowed to keep only a small portion of their income in order to contribute to this political and economic debacle that we see in Washington and Hartford. What gives both Congress and our Democratic super majority in Hartford the right to overtax you? Are they held accountable through audits and reviews of programs? I see little if any of this. Thus there can not be an economic plan nor any forward economic thinking other than raise taxes on those who are the most productive in our economy in order to give to those who are the most politically connected in both Washington and Hartford. Thus we have a mess in our economy which is directly related to the poor and inept political system which governs it. Our 2010 election should begin the change back to a free economic system and gone will these non productive and disgraceful politicians who have debased our economy.

Let The Tidal Wave Begin

Let the tidal wave begin, may it spread to Connecticutax. Is Dick Blumenthal nervous? Of course he is. Is he a strong candidate? In his mind he is. The thought of Ned Lamont as Governor truly sickens me also. The tidal wave against socialism, liberalism and excessive taxation has begun only a few miles away from our poorly governed and overtaxed state. It is spreading to our state.
The Connecticutax Democrats have to be scared. The media will try to help them spin this debacle as best as they can to try to cover up the years of poor government that the Democrats have given us both on a federal and state level.
However, Dodd was dumped, Blumenthal will lose, Lamont will lose and Donovan will go to minority status. Connecticut voters are fed up and see 2010 as a time of change in this new decade. The lies of years past by the Democrats are being remembered by voters and taxpayers. They have had enough. The tidal wave has begun and the Democrats here in Connecticut can no longer paddle their deceptions any more.

Where Is The Economic Plan?

I am curious where is the economic plan from either Washington or Hartford? I do not see one nor is unemployment going down. How can we be coming out of the recession when we have a posted 10% unemployment rate and a real rate of 18%+ (those who are still unemployed and are no longer being counted)? What is the economic reasoning behind that? Where are all the supposed jobs that were created by the ill gotten stimulus package?
Here in Hartford, our state's finances are a debacle. We are fast approaching a $1 billion deficit with no relief in sight. We have a legislature which could care less about any of the economic issues facing Connecticut. Taxpayers hear the same song of higher taxes will solve all of our problems. And we also see the great migration continue out of the state for a better and lower taxed life elsewhere.
Washington and Hartford have no economic plan. They have the same stale rhetoric which taxpayers at all levels no longer buy into. The Tea Party movement will continue to grow and will eventually help replace our stale and economically illiterate elected officials. 2010 is here now, where is the economic plan? It is not in Washington or in Hartford.

Bad Health Is On The Horizon

Bad health is in store for most Americans with the socialized health care plan that the Democrats in Congress will be voting on before they lose their super majority. Taxpayers will now be burdened with a top secret, highly taxed, partisan, illogical and unhealthy health care plan. It is a plan that full of earmarks, it is secret, negotiations and debate closed off to Republicans and the public. It is a plan that shows how ineffective, illogical and non cooperative to those whom they supposedly represent Congress has become. And they will exempt themselves from this debacle of a bill. All in the name of a liberal, socialistic agenda that is creating ruin for our economy.
We have really poor government in 2010. We have an inexperienced President who disregards those who supposedly elected him in his false claim of change. All that has changed is that we have lost a great deal of our freedoms in the past year. We have a Congress who totally disregards logic and debate. It is socialism at its best. And the voting public has begun its great awakening. Bad health is on the horizon with a mangled health care bill which defies any type of well being. The horizon will change soon as November approaches.

The Again Coming Economic Storm

The economic storm is brewing again. It will be harsh. It will long. It continues to create havoc in our economy. I do not see much positive economic news on the horizon. We have a spend happy Congress which has become totally separated from the people they represent. What is the actual costs of the socialized health care plan they wish to ram down our throats? How much money has and will TARP lose for taxpayers? What is the economic point of cap and trade? What is the plan to pay down the national debt? How is this debt going to be financed in the future? At what cost? What is the plan to clear the toxic debt out of the financial markets? Why are economic financial whistle blowers silenced? What are the economic implications for the continuing wars in the Middle East? What are the unfunded liabilities of the federal government and how will they be financed? What are the plans to spur private job growth in the future since the unreported unemployment rate is around 18% and climbing each day? When are taxes going to be cut to stimulate the economy? And the questions continue ad infintum. 2010 is here and it will be time to vote these fools out of office at all levels of government.

Dodd Dumped, Now Dump Blumenthal

Dodd got dumped. What position was he promised in the last two years of the Obama Administration for giving up his seat? And why should Dick Blumenthal be our Senator? What has he really done to become a Senator? Let us now Dump Dick. His constant lawsuits which have cost our state millions of dollars have helped to develop a negative business atmosphere. If you were a business why would you want to locate in a highly taxed and litigious state for? And if one closely looks at his record especially the New England Pellet case, in which his office did not have the slightest clue as to what was the rule of law, his brand of media induced legalese will not play well with the voting public. I know that Connecticut's liberal media has already self appointed him the new Senator but I will predict that this election will become a blood bath over the year. Dick Blumenthal is an opportunist Attorney General who has done little to actually protect consumers in our state, improve our quality of life or allow businesses to operate without fear of reprisal. In my opinion, the Democrats are still going to lose this seat in November. Connecticut voters have had enough.

Back to the Economy. What Unemployment?

What is that? The economy, stupid. Remember that? What Unemployment? The free market economic system has been hijacked by corrupt politicians and feel good liberalism. I continue to be amazed by the political interference in our economy and by the supposed economic stimulation that government apparently provides it. For example I find it comical that Democratic pollster Mark Penn received an economic stimulus contract worth almost $6 million to work on a public-relations campaign to promote the national transition from analog to digital television. Why you may ask? Was this critical to our economy? He made the taxpayers pay him $6 million for 39 days work and has the nerve to state that it saved three jobs. Yes, three jobs. Thus your tax money paid $2 million dollars to save each one of those jobs. I wonder how many people in Connecticut who are unemployed know that? I think $6 million of taxpayers monies could have been much better spent. Where is the outcry by taxpayers or the media? How many actually know of this scam? And the list goes on and on.
Our economy will only recover when we allow the free market system to work again without governmental and political interference. We have an economically illiterate administration working hand in hand with an economically illiterate Democratic Congress destroying our economy on a daily basis so as to promote their inept ego, power and glorification of failed liberal policies.
The days are marching on and November 2010 will be here. A new economic dawn will occur for our economy with a new Congress then. 2012 will follow as quick with a new President. I can only hope those who are unemployed can last that long. Also if you unemployed why not ask Mark Penn for a job-why not make him share his liberal wealth?

We Are Now Under International Law, Why?

We are under international law. Why?
Here it is:
By a stroke of his amazing pen, President Obama has now overturned a law protecting our citizens, what deal was made with who?
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 1 of the International Organizations Immunities Act (22 U.S.C. 288), and in order to extend the appropriate privileges, exemptions, and immunities to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), it is hereby ordered that Executive Order 12425 of June 16, 1983, as amended, is further amended by deleting from the first sentence the words "except those provided by Section 2(c), Section 3, Section 4, Section 5, and Section 6 of that Act" and the semicolon that immediately precedes them.
President Reagan's directive of 1983 placing Interpol, which is an international law enforcement agency, under our Fourth Amendment Search and Seizure laws and rules has just been overturned. The reason President Reagan did it was to protect our country from international law interference and protect United States citizens from these types of searches. It was logical what Reagan did. It makes absolutely no sense what Obama has just done. It also makes no sense that not one mainstream news organization actually reported it. Interpol by this act has greater powers than our Constitution. Why isn't Congress acting to overturn this directive? What is the reason for this directive with no debate from anyone?
We are now in 2010. A new Congress with new members needs to be elected to stop this abuse of power that is going on in Washington.

What's $400 billion dollars?

Hey what's $400 billion dollars? It is the amount of losses of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that you are paying to keep them afloat. And what is wrong with that? We as an economy sure as heck have another $400 billion dollars that we can take out of circulation and help prop up thousands of bad mortgages. Most of these mortgages will never get current. Most of these mortgages should be in bankruptcy now so as to clear the market out of this toxic debt which is still dragging down the housing market. But this administration still feels they are doing a great job and will throw more taxpayers monies out to keep them afloat. And also pay the officials of these two failed mortgages giants $6 million in compensation for the great job they are doing. It is an economic fantasy as to why this money keeps getting spent on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to prop up these bad mortgages. And this waste of taxpayer's monies need to stop immediately. We need the free market system to clear the bad debt out and let the normal supply and demand of housing start to go forward again. It is economic reality that not everyone can afford to own a home. The federal government needs to understand it. I am personally tired of paying for this ridiculous piece of social welfare that has failed our economy.

Chris Donovan's Letter Writing Campaign

I have been noticing an increase in the number of Letters to the Editor in the Record Journal written by individuals praising the virtues of Speaker of the House Chris Donovan. Why I do not know other than to once again deflect criticism of his failed legislative session and raising taxes yet once again on our state. I will also add that his last plan to cut the deficit makes absolutely no economic sense to me nor will it work. Does Donovan understand the amount of debt and unfunded liabilities that the state has? Does Donovan understand that the excessively high tax rate that Connecticut has continues to force businesses and its citizens out of the state? What exactly are the results of the massive spending on all sorts of dependent social welfare programs, none of which by the way can be cut? Are the results to keep welfare for fourth and fifth generations of families, so their votes will be safe for the Democrats? And what gives the right to the state to tax inheritances? Hasn't money which has been earned been taxed already? Or are there never enough taxes for the Connecticut Democratic party?
Cut spending and cut taxes. Words which would never come out of the mouth of Chris Donovan and his letter writers.

Why Doesn't Congress Accept Their Own Health Care Plan?

Why doesn't Congress accept their own health care plan to cover themselves? Why don't they enroll themselves in Medicare when they retire? Why must taxpayers accept this failed, unhealthy expensive plan and Congress refuses? These are the questions that taxpayers must now ask their pompous Represenatatives and Senators as the two bills are debated. And the Republicans should now have the guts to fillabuster both bills as they stand. Does Congress feel that taxpayers are that stupid to accept this miserable will bill which will raise the national debt enormously, ration and make more expensive limited health care, and do away with research and technology in drugs, medical care and medical equipment? Congress has failed in its efforts to reform health care. It does not touch tort reform. It does not touch the costs of health care demand by illegal immigrants. It does not touch intertstate medical insurance plans. It just creates socialized health care and rationed care.
2010 will the great awakening for Congress as many Representatives and Senators become unemployed. Stop this unhealthy non reform bill today.

Change-What Change?

Change-What change you ask? I have no idea that there has been any type of change in our political system in either Washington or Hartford. In Hartford we are viewing the complete bankrupting of our state government by the Democratic super majority. A super majority who can cut no spending, produce no results and is spending our tax monies into a bankruptcy for the state. For 2010 our Democratic super majority is offering us higher taxes and increased long term debt for our children. They have chosen to keep their heads in the sand and walk away from fiscal responsibility.
In Washington, Congress has chosen not to address the economy or private sector job creation. They have decided to break our health care system, ruin healthy lives, raise taxes to unsustainable levels, and walk away from fiscal responsibility by increasing the national debt by $4 trillion dollars. All in the name of change. Change-What change you ask?
State and national elections will be here in a few months and we as voters and taxpayers will be creating the change by voting these stale and corrupt politicians out of office. I am confident of that. Change-2010 style.

Chris Dodd For Sale - Please Buy My Vote=$100 Million Dump Dodd 2010

I wasn't offered anything for my vote nor did I get a sweetheart mortgage deal either. You see I play by the rules and laws of our society. These same laws and rules do not apply to the United States Congress especially for Senator Chris Dodd. Dodd has shaken taxpayers for another $100 million dollars to ensure his vote on the horrific health care bill which has been rammed down the throats of taxpayers. Dodd's vote was guaranteed by giving $100 million of taxpayer's monies to help prop up and build another monument to the University of Connecticut Health Care Center while holding state taxpayers to foot 60% of the bill. Economic logic? Good spending? No and no. But a great way for the inept and politically corrupt Chris Dodd to buy votes in his failing re-election campaign of the century.
I am amazed at the lack of economic reasoning exhibited by this administration and this congress, just spend until it can't be financed any more and bankrupt our country. And the logic of Chris Dodd is that it is all about his failed leadership, his failed policies, his failed ethics and his failed career.

The Connecticut Economic War

In case you are visiting from another planet, Connecticut's budget is messed up again. The smokescreen budget which the Democratic super majority rammed down the throats of taxpayers here is unraveling as we speak. Tax revenues continue to collapse, the mythical state sales tax cut is gone and the Democrat drumbeat of new and higher taxes is starting to grow once again.
Governor Rell's attempt to cut spending by freezing enrollment in our state socialized health care plan and some minor cuts in state agency budgets has met the stonewall of union backed Democrat Speaker of the House Chris Donovan. Donovan now rolls out his highly paid public relations pests to bombard the media of how many innocent peoples lives will be affected and how many unionized jobs will be lost with these cuts. His simplistic alternative is just to continue to raise taxes and force more businesses and citizens out of the state. So much for economic logic.
Donovan and his Democratic super majority really need to come up with some new arguments as to why we must keep social welfare spending so high in our state. The results of these billions spent are poor at best. In my economic opinion, it is only done to continue to buy influence and votes in Hartford. The economic damage that they are doing to our economy is reprehensible to taxpayers. Economic leadership is non existent in Hartford and the blame for the economic fall of Connecticut lies squarely on the Democrats who are unable to lead.

The Federal Government Dream Crushers

The Federal Government never ceases to amaze me in their new role as dream crushers. Last time I looked America was the land of the free and the home of the brave. With our current administration we can change that to the land of the regulation and the home of the timid. We have economic dream crushers at every step in Washington. As their windows of opportunity to force socialistic economic policies closing with each day before the 2010 elections, each day brings forth new, irrational anti-economic growth, socialistic economic policies which clearly make no sense to our economy.
The anti consumer/business Consumer Financial Protection Agency law, passed by the House is yet another example of foolish economics endorsed by economically illiterate politicians. Yet another bill which will drive up costs for consumers. The EPA will now help strip the remaining production out of economy with their scare tactics regarding cap and trade. Sick, socialized medicine is just around the corner since apparently 5% of our population does not have health insurance, thus we must cripple and make ill the remaining 95% who actually do. And the list goes on and on.
We have raped the American dream by a group of ill prepared, ill serving, economically illiterate politicians and officials. By stripping our economic power and growth we have laid the foundation for horrific economic times. Hopefully a new Congress in 2010 will start to repeal many of these laws by this ridiculous and self serving Congress and administration. We truly have taxation without representation once again.

In my economic opinion Chris Dodd responded poorly, very poorly. I would like to share with my most recent response from our soon-to-be ex-Senator from Connecticut received via email on 11/17/09

Years of fiscal recklessness coupled with a lack of regulatory oversight helped to contribute to the current economic crisis which has left millions of Americans struggling to keep their homes and their jobs.
Swick Speak:Mr. Dodd how long have you been in office and how long have your failed policies been in place?
To address this very serious downturn, Congress acted decisively to pass legislation to stabilize the financial system, as well as a substantial stimulus bill to help halt the further decline of our economy. These swift, aggressive actions have already succeeded in preventing a complete collapse of our financial system, as well as helped move our economy from the very brink of disaster. However, these actions must be followed by substantive reforms that will provide a new foundation for American prosperity in the 21st century, as well as diligent oversight to ensure that taxpayer funds are used appropriately.
Swick Speak: Mr. Dodd again what have these actions done other than increase the national debt? By controlling more of the economy how do you create any foundation for prosperity? By raising taxes and the debt to appease your liberal party?

Our current economic crisis has helped to further expose several weaknesses in the United States economy, including a broken health care system, dependence on foreign oil, and deteriorating infrastructure. In order to fundamentally strengthen our economy, we need to refocus our national priorities toward reinvesting here in the United States to the benefit of the American people. For example, it has been estimated that merely cutting one to two percent from our current health care costs-which represent an astronomical 16 percent of our total Gross Domestic Product-will generate billions in savings for the U.S. government and taxpayers.
Swick Speak: Mr. Dodd how many years have you been in office to accomplish all of this? You continue the lies of your party about health care reform which will do nothing economically for us other than increase taxes, ration health care and still afford you the best of health care since Congress refuses to join the poor and unhealthy health care system they are creating for the rest of the country. How many years have we had to become energy independent yet your party stonewalls any attempt to drill domestically , build new refineries and promote nuclear power?

Investing in our future will require significant investments in the near-term, as well as take time to truly work effectively. I understand that the magnitude of these issues invites spirited debate and disagreement from all sides as to how best to proceed. What is lost in this comical response is the total avoidance of any wrong doing. Dodd has been head of the Senate Banking Committee for how long? What about his sweetheart mortgage deal? His blessings of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac when they were shown to be insolvent? And the list goes on and on, ad infinitum.
Enough of the rhetoric, 2010 is almost here and a new Senator will be elected in Connecticut.

Stop This Mindless Economic Endless War...

I always get a laugh driving by a car that has the anti-Bush "Stop This Endless War" bumper sticker on it. I have always thought of printing up one that states, "Stop This Mindless Economic Endless War..." I feel like rolling down the window and yelling at the person driving, "Your boy really has stopped the war hasn't he?" "It has only been one year now!" And then drive away.
Because now he is fighting on three fronts, Iraq, a new and complex escalation in Afghanistan and in our country on the domestic front. It took the President three months to decide on what he decided upon back then-more troops. A great sign of indecisiveness, sort of like LBJ back in Vietnam. And at the same time fighting with taxpayers to give up their medical insurance and care along with their environmental freedom for the sake of higher taxes and a failed socialist economic agenda that is coming apart at the seams. Taxpayers are sick of the war at all three fronts, Iraq, Afghanistan and in our country against those who work for a living and pay taxes. Maybe it is time to start to win the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and let the free market economy work without governmental intervention. But I sense a loss on all three fronts by 2011 with a real change in the form of a new Congress in 2010 and a new Commander-in-Chief in 2012. Then all of the wars will end.
