$51.7 Million=No Voice For Connecticut Taxpayers

I guess $51.7 million dollars does not go as far as it use to.  Because $51.7 million is what was spent in 2012 lobbying activity to influence our State Legislature according to a recent report issued by Office of State Ethics.   This is the same stale State Legislature that has brought us the highest taxes in the country, one of the worse places to retire and do business in, and one of the highest long term unfunded liabilities debt to deal with.  $51.7 million to lobby our elected officials here in Connecticut to get all that and more economic waste than ever before.
I guess that really is not a great deal of money.  I know taxpayers really have no say in our State Legislature. Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule usually just does what they want.  They can pass legislation that is not read.  They can circumvent the State Constitution.  They can break any rule of law with no repercussions. Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule is above all that and more.  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule is definitely ruled by influence and lobbying.  It is liberal elitism in its purest form.
Thus we really have no say in our state government.  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule has taken care of that with its influence buying.  I guess $51.7 million dollars does not go as far as it use to.  Except in Hartford with all of its corruption in full view of all to see.

Keno and No Sales Tax Week-Yawn

I am economically tired of Connecticut.  Now we have Keno, a new way to save Connecticut from itself. We have this week tax free week on all clothes and shoes.  But wait a minute clothes and shoes used to be tax exempt all of the time.  Until Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule decided to tax all clothes and shoes. And raise the sales tax.  And raise the secret Gross Earnings tax on gasoline. And raise the income tax.  And create new taxes on all sorts of things.  And still run a massive deficit each year.  And still be last in many, many different economic categories and one of the highest taxed states in the country.
Thus we see this week politicians praising the virtues of the scrap heap called tax free week, the other 51 weeks of the year Connecticut's elected officials make sure you are taxed to death.  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule likes it that way.  It is the way and path to their corruption, glory and power.  It is their mantra.  And it continues to ruin Connecticut economically.
Maybe Connecticut can develop somehow a new Keno or scratch off lottery game in which the grand prize would be either a recall election on one of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Ruling elite or just a plain forced resignation of one of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Ruling Representatives or Senators.  Maybe Connecticut would really hit it big and once again move forward economically.  Taxpayers would truly win and win big!  What a prize that would be!

Connecticut's Do Nothing Unfunded Pension Liabilities

Connecticut ranks last in unfunded pension liabilities according to a recent cnbc report http://www.cnbc.com/id/100929269
No big deal.  Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford can just change around some more accounting rules and just like that it will be fine again.  Sort of like what they did with the state budget.  Sort of like it being unconstitutional.  But what does that matter to Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford?  They seem to be economic geniuses.  They tax and spend without any regards for the state's fiscal future.  They tax and spend to create their own comforts and given reelections.
Unfunded pension liabilities is a serious economic matter and one that still is ignored by Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford.  It is at a crisis state and really no solutions have been offered to this.  It is just one of many economic crisis that Democrats have helped to create in Hartford.  They must be proud to be ranked dead last out of 50 states in our country.
What is the solution?  All new state employees should be going into self funded pensions.  Benefits should be in line with private industry and business.  Economic reality needs to be explored by Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford.   The state is broke and can no longer afford this economic charade.

Obamacare Not Good Enough For Congress

Too bad.  I guess with the new unknown socialized health care plan it became too expensive for members of Congress and their staffs.  How would they be able to pay that yearly $5000 for single coverage and $11000 for family coverage that this law dictates?  The outrage of it all.  Now we know that you and I can afford whatever we need to pay to have our health coverage whether it is the monthly premiums, co-pays, deductibles.  We can, will and must pay these costs.
But why should Congress bother itself with that?  As a ruling class in our society they should be and are above any laws that they enact.  They rule the serfs with supreme power and iron rule.  The President by fiat and against his law of socialized medicine is giving all members this yearly $5000 for single coverage and $11000 for family coverage from you and I the taxpayers-they are now exempt from these costs.  More taxpayer monies now go to subsidize this economic debacle called Congress and their bloated staffs. Again they are now exempt from paying this money for their socialized health care.  And again I ask why?  More freebies for the ruling elite.  Congress is now held harmless from the health insurance nightmare they helped to create.
It is never too early to think about the Congressional midterm elections that are coming up in 2014.  And it is never too early to think about voting out of office this incompetent ruling elite which has and continues to cause excessive harm to both our economy and society.  Taxpayers should no longer be treated as serfs in our society.
