At what point, does the Connecticut Taxpayer call it quits with Connecticut, and in particular, the Connecticut Democrat Party?

August 11, 2026. The Primary To Nowhere
Rumor had it that King Ned Lamont the Unaccountable, the 89th Governor of the once-great state of Connecticut, participated in a primary election that recently damaged the singularly-uninspiring Democrat Socialist/Communist Josh Elliott by beating him with brute force in the August 11 Democrat Primary. As literally every state union, state-supported adjunct, corrupted NGO, and bought-off church and community group of color was ready to do their trained-dog act to remain on the food chain, the dull Mr. Elliott had no chance, and conceded his loss like a misbehaving puppy asking to be placed in his master’s good graces. For such an Academy Award winning performance, I am sure Mr. Elliott will be rewarded with a state-paid nonjob in the extremely near future just to show us all how balanced and inclusive The Unaccountable is to all persons and viewpoints, your tax dollars, be damned.

The Pharisee And The Publican- The Connecticut Democrat Version of 2026
Most people are familiar with the Biblical tale of the Pharisee and the Publican.
It goes something like this: Two men went up to the temple to pray: one a Pharisee (a member of a Jewish religious group known for strict observance of the Law) and the other a publican/tax collector (a figure often viewed as a sinner and collaborator with Roman authorities, despised).
- The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: “God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.”
- The tax collector (publican) stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven but beat his breast and said, “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
In the Bible, two men came before God seeking him and one was able to approach God for mercy, being of a sincere heart. In the political theater of Connecticut, two men came before members of their party seeking primary votes. Sadly, both failed miserably as both projected no sense of sincerity whatsoever.
One, Josh Elliott wants to be the Governor of Connecticut so badly he can taste it. He demands your vote as any good Communist/Socialist Young Democrat demands. He confronted the Taxpayer funded Capitalist evil, enemy Governor Ned Lamont in a 45-minute debate held on July 22 on WTNH News 8 for all to see (https://www.wtnh.com/news/elections/lamont-elliott-spar-over-taxes-utility-costs-and-ice-mask-policy-in-news-8-debate/). And what a stale, scripted debate it was. The same old, same old, tired failed Democrat policies echoed repeatedly. The agreed-to, (or network prepared?) questions were out of central casting. No new ideas or logical thought provided.
Here are some interesting and as expected quotes from this fight between two Democrat Party brothers in corruption. (https://ctmirror.org/2026/07/22/lamont-and-elliott-clash-politely-in-only-tv-debate-before-primary/)
Elliott also stated: “When I see that I’m up against somebody who takes my message and does the Temu version of it, I find it deeply frustrating,” “The fact is, I’m glad we’re rowing the same direction, but not quite the same, and not quite the same velocity. We could do so much more here in Connecticut, and the fact is, we have to fight for fairness up and down the board.” What is this fairness he is talking about? Political nepotism for Connecticut Democrat Party operatives as in Bridgeport? More low-income jobs, multi-unit housing, and supporting dependency on the backs of the remaining legitimate taxpayers in the state? More gender-affirming care for innocent children?
Lamont: “He (Elliott) doesn’t have much of a track record to talk about,” Lamont said. “I could talk about minimum wage. I could talk about economic growth. I could talk about the money we got for education and what we’re doing for health care. So, it gave me a lot of material to work with.” Corrupted Capitalist Lamont could answer questions on how much did his family's hedge fund profit from Infosys Limited, Digital Currency Group and its affiliates, "ADVANCECT", Boston Consulting Group, UNITE US (CT), Mt. Sinai Genomics, "Thermo Fisher Scientific", "Sema 4", " Core Informatics", "Ocrulus", "Urjanet", "1life Healthcare", "Galileo Health", "Castlight Health", "Paladina Health", "4-CT", and "VillageMD ““The Horsebarn Hill Investment Fund”, McKinsey, “CT Next”, and the Tidal River Fund, 'Baby Bonds portfolio, the UCONN Foundation, to name a few? I wonder why the moderators of the debate nor Elliott did not bring these areas up. Also, why does the Boiler Room of Connecticut ("Connecticut Innovations") steadfastly refuse to release any information whatsoever on their portfolio holding “Yuma Asset Management?” Is it because it is directly related to that same Digital Currency Group, and neither you nor your wife ever really “got out” of that deal and you lied to the citizens as you are wont to do?
Or how about both candidates disclosing their Income tax returns? (Hey Josh! Be sure to ask for Annie’s separate return, especially the part of Schedule “B” that asks for locations of foreign investments such as the tax-free and secret Cayman Islands, an integral part of the Sema-4 debacle).
Lamont also added: “We’re getting our fiscal house in order, and we had some surpluses to allow us to pay down some of the pension debt,” Lamont said. “Now we have the resources we need to make some of the big investments to really make a difference in people’s lives.” But what are exactly these investments? More 2% loans? More throwing money in exchange for votes and gimmees? More picking of winners and losers? But who cares about Connecticut and its $100 and $150 billion dollars in short and term debt along with unfunded liabilities? What is the plan to pay that off? Why are so many legal and illegal citizens on state taxpayer funded social aid? Why do you never seem to care about any of that?
You could have predicted the rest of debate. More rhetoric, more theatrics, and more spins on one of the worst performing states economically in the country. Are you excited about either Democrat Party candidate? I would venture to say no as both will end up increasing state spending, increasing taxes, do less to try to combat crime and take away more of your personal freedoms. It’s the same garbage force fed to you by the Connecticut Democrat Party and its state-run media since time immemorial. It is the same rhetoric and the same lies over and over again. And most insultingly, they believe that no one sees (or cares).

Connecticut: As 43% Of Citizens Have 80/20 Vision, Politicians Are Blind.
Connecticut is an interesting case study in this election year as sentiments mirror the national perspective. In the examination of this perspective, two vastly different viewpoints are presented by voters. Somehow, 57% of these state voters agree with the current corrupted, tepid, and failed state-run economy while 43% are shouting out for some innovative ideas, actual ethical leadership with economic growth and reducing the current state debt of roughly $150 billion dollars that is not factored into the venerated “Fiscal Guardrails”. The Connecticut Democrat Party with all of its corruption, ineptitude, incompetence, and economic and social failure continues its dictatorial hold on the state-run media and some citizens, with said leverage facilitated by your tax dollars via lager “Marketing, Media, and Public Relations” -expenditures in the state budget. Meanwhile, the current race for Governor is shaping up to be a re-run of the last four debacle races that were bereft of boldness, principles, and innovative ideas that in the end, signified nothing.
But in the endgame, what does all of that matter to the 43%? That 43% of those legally voting in the state faced with a dead economy, oppressive utility costs, excessive taxation, a lack of leadership and a morally-bankrupt state are so tired of this facade of posturing, and care only to the extent that they do want any more of the malfeasance and venality that represents both the Connecticut Democrat Party and its corrupted Governor Ned Lamont. These people have what is known in the political trade as “80/20” issue voters, focusing their energies on the items most important to their survival. And at the same time the never-ending issues of illegal drug use, destroyed and wrecked cities, massive crime, and violence along with a failed legal system are repeated by taxpayer-supported media reminding them that all of the ills of their world are all President Trump's fault and/or all due to Republican’s fault.
What else is the 43% of forgotten voters concerned about as opposed to endless strivings of politicians jamming their version of “Connecticut Values” down our throats? Their kids. Harm to their children. The real social issue in the state of Connecticut. The crisis of illegal drugs. How many more years are needed to clean up the chronic flow of illegal and deadly drugs in the state? How many more human beings need to die from drug overdoses to say enough is enough? It is evident that politically connected operators close to state government benefit from this constant drug crisis by Connecticut Taxpayers monies being funneled to numerous "non-profit" agencies that are not taking care of this problem. It is the same situation with domestic violence charities as the more funding there is, the more beatings there are. Indeed, these are the “Connecticut Values” that your taxpayer-paid state media chooses to hide from your view when you flick a switch for news.
What else is important to that 43%? Violence. Car theft and criminal retail theft abound in the state. Why must people fear for their lives to buy gasoline at night? Why can't criminals be convicted of their crimes and be taken off the streets? How many more murders in the Democrat Party strongholds of Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, and Waterbury need to happen before someone really starts to get tough with crime for the last time? Will it happen if a prominent Democrat Party family member is murdered in cold blood? Will the police officer that took the craven killer down be criminally charged? (Of course, this is a nonsensical question as police in Democrat-run Connecticut are not allowed to police anything whatsoever).
But there is a critical error in blaming only one party for this morass. The charade of this failed Connecticut Democrat Party should be brutally addressed every single day in this election by the Republican Party. We know it will not be, nor ever will be, until there is new and dedicated leadership for ethics to be restored to both parties. You see, the problem is Republican blindness. Republicans try to deal with this cancer on a political level trying to be liked and accepted. while Democrats are fighting a culture war against all things responsible and decent. If this fatally flawed approach will not change, then maybe it is really time for a set of logically, functional, and honest ideas/solutions and actions to be promoted by a new and legitimate third party. It would truly be a breath of fresh air in the confusion, smog, and sickening pollution that our current Connecticut Uniparty political system is mired in for this election.

IT IS TIME FOR THE CONNECTICUT REPUBLICAN PARTY TO FINALLY GET REAL ABOUT STATE CORRUPTION.
It has finally happened. Connecticut Major Parties have picked their candidates for the upcoming election in November. However, sitting Governor Ned Lamont faces a primary challenge by a new breed young Democrat (Josh Elliott) who has grand Communist and Socialist ideas that we have heard all before and have failed all before in every other place in the world. Given past practices, I am confident that Lamont will cut a deal with this ideological wizard to preserve his gravy train of income and profits from Connecticut taxpayers.
Speaking of corruption, and as I discussed last week, Citizen Journalist Kristi Talmadge wrote a brilliant summary of the myriad and complex wrongdoings of Ned and his sidekick spouse Annie Lamont for the Connecticut Centinal (https://connecticutcentinal.com/opinion/2026/05/15/connecticuts-untouchable-democrat-power-couple/). Kristi has recapped precisely what my colleague Tony De Angelo has discussing since the beginning of the never ending Covid crisis in the state back in 2021. I highly recommend everyone to read this concise discussion of outright fraud that has taken place in the state.
Here are some major points to refresh our readers memories taken from the article, including (but in no way limited to) both Lamont’s governing the state via the use of a private family-office e mail server:
While Governor Ned Lamont publicly released his 2021 tax returns in October 2022, revealing an eye-popping $54 million in adjusted gross income, the vast majority from investment and capital gains, the public remains completely in the dark about First Lady Annie Lamont’s finances. Because the couple files separately (“Married Filing Separately”), Annie Lamont’s substantial earnings, distributions, and partnership income as co-founder and managing partner of OAK HC/FT Partners stay entirely shielded from disclosure.
This convenient arrangement lets Ned project selective transparency while the full scope of the family’s wealth, and any potential profits tied to the very venture capital firm at the center of no-bid COVID contracts, offshore vehicles, and state-favor allegations, remains hidden from Connecticut taxpayers.
This is not “gotcha” politics. It is a systemic failure of accountability that erodes trust in government. Every Connecticut family struggling with high taxes, crumbling infrastructure, and post-COVID economic fallout has a right to know whether public dollars were steered to enrich the First Family’s venture capital empire.
The call is clear:
- The FBI’s New Haven field office and U.S. Attorney must open a public corruption probe into potential wire fraud, honest-services fraud, and conflicts involving state contracts, the private server, and offshore flows.
- The Connecticut State Auditor and Legislature must immediately subpoena the family server (or what remains), full OAK portfolio vs. state spending cross-checks, UConn Foundation investment records, and Advance CT meeting logs.
- Forensic IT recovery experts should examine the private server for deletions and backups.
- All OAK HC/FT portfolio companies must be mapped against every state grant, loan, contract, or policy favor since 2019.
As I stated in my blog last week:
My colleague Tony De Angelo and I have been asking repeatedly for information on the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development dealings and audits as they relate to his family's hedge fund profits and other concerns/affiliations. Also how much did his family's hedge fund profit from Infosys Limited, Digital Currency Group and its affiliates, "ADVANCECT", Boston Consulting Group, UNITE US (CT), Mt. Sinai Genomics, "Thermo Fisher Scientific", "Sema 4", " Core Informatics", "Ocrulus", "Urjanet", "1life Healthcare", "Galileo Health", "Castlight Health", "Paladina Health", "4-CT", and "VillageMD ““The Horsebarn Hill Investment Fund”, McKinsey, “CT Next”, and the Tidal River Fund, to name a few? Since we know there are Lamont family investments in the state pension, where might they be resident in the “Baby Bonds” portfolio or the UCONN Foundation? What family transactions take place in the secret Cayman Islands where no one can see them? Where are the Governor's tax returns and why hasn't he made them public in this election year or in any year since he has been in office? (https://swickspeak.blogspot.com/2026/05/connecticut-politics-corruption-is-our.html)
Over the course of the weekend of May 15, great talk and anticipation of a brave new Republican world spread throughout the party and the state. However, being one who has either been involved or has observed the failures of the CT GOP for decades I have one simple question for the Republican Gubernatorial/Lt. Governor nominees Ryan Fazio and Matt Corey: Will these gentlemen ask and pursue these same questions during the upcoming campaign and get to the bottom of this corruption once and for all? Will we finally see FOIA granted to the myriad and surreptitious nonprofits that are funded with Connecticut tax dollars? Or does the corruption get swept under the rug for another four years with the third term of embezzlement of Taxpayers monies for the Lamont’s’? Or, are Connecticut Taxpayers subject to more weak and wan Republican statements against corruption, where nothing meaningful will ever be done.
Legitimate questions deserve legitimate answers. The corruption of Connecticut's government and rip off of the Connecticut Taxpayers needs to be stopped.
The trail is more than established, There are no longer any excuses. I call upon the Fazio/Corey ticket to act on it.
The next Swick Speak column will be on June 6th. Have a nice holiday.

Connecticut Politics: Corruption Is Our Currency
Politics is an art. In Connecticut, politics seems to be a way to enhance one's power and wealth. Increasingly, it is a profession that when one enters it, one never leaves it. It also is a profession where one can gain and develop great wealth over short periods of time while those in oversight either screw-up repeatedly or look the other way, all at your expense. It is a very closed circle where new ideas are shunned in many ways regardless of whether the ideas would be a great improvement for the status quo. Generally in politics, failed social and economic policies are embraced without any regard for the actual costs to the Taxpayers who must fund this horrific form of governance. And in Connecticut, all of that is significantly worse.
In
Connecticut, it is evident that corruption runs rampantly and does not seem to end
any time soon. It also seems that Republicans involved in corruption seem to
get caught at all costs and Democrats avoid any punishment for their alleged violations,
that are brazen in their disregard for the rule of law. But for those on the
political side, they really do not care. They see the takings from you accruing
to their benefit as allowing them to serve you better. And regardless of your
outcry towards this they will do the same thing over and over, provided they
get re-elected for the next cycle, which is the sole reason for their "service",
you, be damned.
The sordid political history of political corruption in Connecticut goes back decades, to John Mandanici in Bridgeport and John Rowland in the state house, and John Rowland after the state house. But sadly, none of these lessons were learned by subsequent participants. Currently, Bridgeport has a convicted felon serving the city again after jail time and supposed repayment of what he stole from the city, Mayor Joe Ganim. Trying to find evidence that Mayor Joe Ganim repaid the city for his pilfering is virtually nonexistent. That is just the way it is. He will obtain a city taxpayer funded pension if and when he ever retires and also had the audacity to run for Governor of Connecticut. Bridgeport also had/has massive voter fraud that I have written about in the past that in the opinion of many will never be resolved. The closest operating assistant to Mayor Joe Ganim is the Nationally Known Wanda the Ballot Stuffer who has done whatever Mayor Joe Ganim has commanded her to do. The Republican Party is virtually unknown in the city. But all of this is a shrug-your-shoulders accepted way of life in the corrupt Connecticut cesspool.
But why stop there? Connecticut Democrat State Senator Doug McCrory still holds his prominent paid State Senate seat as the corruption he is tied to between the “Blue Hills Civic Association”, other myriad “nonprofit” organizations, and the should-be-abolished Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development reflect the alleged steering of money to his close associates. The “Blue Hills Civic Association” was poorly run with corrective audit findings being basically disregarded. This failed Democrat-led Association failed to report a $300,000 cyber theft, and over $1,700,000 in funds was apparently funneled to so called “consultants” that are associated with the Democrat State Senator. Absent any cry whatsoever in the political universe for just restitution and the impounding of assets, and appreciative and grateful of an FBI investigation and a Federal Grand Jury, Connecticut taxpayers await eagerly some sort of response as to how and when they will be paid back for this rip-off.

Connecticut:Where Democrats Profit From Nonprofit Organizations
It has been another week in the sordid and bizarre world of the State of Connecticut. Horrendous bills violative of the constitutional rights of ordinary citizens advanced in the state Legislature. Decrepit and nearly bankrupt Hartford, CT, a city that is run by lunatics and one that cannot pay its bills, is petitioning to borrow $50,000,000 as that amount will finally fix everything. As my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo pointed out on his March 19, 2026, THIRTY WITH TONY no gubernatorial candidate of either party has yet addressed the cancer of this new crippling debt engulfing the state. Another minor league sports franchise is leaving, adding to a very long list of such disasters in the past thereby breaking the hearts of thousands of fans, many of whom are young. And as all of this were not enough, once again, we have an esteemed member of the Connecticut State Democrat Party with his hand in the till leveraging his take through a nonprofit organization.
Before we delve into that, let us define our terms. A nonprofit organization is defined as a legal entity organized for purposes other than generating profit, such as charitable, educational, or social causes, where no part of the net income is to be distributed to directors or officers. Even though reasonable compensation is allowed, a nonprofit must use all revenue exceeding expenses to further their mission rather than for private gain or inurement.
Over the course of time in Connecticut and in review of a number of the abuses of the past, some may wonder why Connecticut’s nonprofits are even considered to be “nonprofit.” In some cases, those who are politically connected with the Connecticut Democrat Party or who hold elected office in the state are somehow able to gain income and profit from these same state subsidized nonprofits. Confusing? It is very confusing and is meant to be, in order to hide the complex web of money that flows in and out of these organizations.
The latest issue involves the “Human Resources Agency of New Britain.” Since 1964, the organization has stated that it has been dedicated to “increasing economic self-sufficiency among individuals and families. It provides a wide variety of services that support citizens at every phase of life, from early childhood education to employment and training to elderly assistance. Its mission is to respond to the causes and conditions of poverty while building stronger individuals, families, and communities.”
Formerly under the stewardship of Republican candidate for governor Erin Stewart, New Britain is represented at the state level by Democrat State Senator Rick Lopes of the 6th District. According to his website, Lopes highlights efforts to secure funding for housing, health care, and other initiatives. However, and most recently, questions have been raised regarding financial connections between Lopes and the Human Resources Agency of New Britain.
According to reporting by “Inside Investigator,” two companies owned by Senator Lopes have been among the highest paid contractors to the nonprofit. These companies reportedly received 1.6 million dollars between 2018 and 2024, based on a review of the organization’s Form 990 filings. At the same time, the Office of State Ethics has stated that this arrangement does not violate state ethics laws because the companies are not directly contracting with the state and therefore do not require disclosure on financial filings.
Taking into account this sickeningly insufficient explanation from the heart of the Great Connecticut Administrative State, this taking raises an important question. If the “Human Resources Agency of New Britain” receives substantial taxpayer funding, should those financial relationships be subject to greater scrutiny? More broadly, what measurable outcomes have been achieved since 1964 if both Connecticut and New Britain continue to experience economic decline, rot, and persistent social challenges? Can it be argued that billions of dollars spent on nonprofits over the past fifty years have produced limited results, if any at all?
A larger issue is how political ethics are viewed in Connecticut. A pattern appears to emerge where elected officials support funding for nonprofits, while businesses connected to those same officials receive compensation for services provided to those nonprofits. And but for the egregious abuses of the Blue Hills Civic Association and this instant case, one must ask if these questions would have ever been raised at all.
Connecticut faces a nonprofit spending problem, a politically connected profit problem, an illegally overcompensated politician problem and a lack of oversight problem. Meanwhile, those most in need continue to struggle, and taxpayers are left questioning how their money is being used.
So, in this 2026 election year which many have considered to be the “Last Chance Saloon” in the annals of Connecticut history, critical questions need to be answered. Will this same, intransparent abuse-filled fiscal conveyor belt covertly feeding nonprofits that no politician wishes to fully overhaul, finally be overhauled (or, eliminated?) Will real-time financial disclosures be available from these organizations as a condition of their grants? Will reasonable compensation guidelines be instituted? Will the next governor empower a citizen DOGE picked by fellow citizens? And will “quasi-public” organizations such as the Department of Economic and Community Development and “Connecticut Innovations” and “Advance CT” be abolished, or even overhauled in the least? The answers to those questions will determine if those patrons in the “Last Chance Saloon” will either live to enjoy another day or die in a hail of bullets in what will be the end of a once-great, innovative, and proud state.
May God Save The Once Great State of Connecticut in 2026.

2026 Is Calling In Connecticut. Who Will Answer?
In 1687, Connecticut declared a day of Thanksgiving to be November 3rd. They were rebuked by the Royal Governor of the Dominion of New England, Sir Edmund Andros, who ruled from his seat in Boston. When he learned of their chosen date during a visit to the colony, he immediately sought to annul the decision on the grounds that only he had the authority to name a day of Thanksgiving. Citizens in Connecticut and other New England colonies disliked being ruled by an Englishman and resented the English laws imposed on their new land. The seeds of the American Revolution were sown.
Much to the chagrin of the arrogant political class, it is no longer 1687. Legal citizens wounded by the processes of arrogant government are now demanding transparency and accountability from said government. For in point of fact, the rule of law in Connecticut is decreed with no input from Connecticut taxpayers, no public hearings for new laws mandated on the population, there is never any referendums, and there is no regard for the state Constitution. There is serial disregard for the set of laws that govern the state, either by state judges or state officials. It is now quite clear that Connecticut is ruled in a cruel and oppressive manner by a self-appointed and self-profiting political hierarchy that hates and abuses its ordinary citizens and feasts upon the elimination of personal freedoms, economic freedoms, and personal property rights (as just seen with the enactment of HB 8002 into law).
Due to this rape of government and governance process, many are hopeful that 2026 will see a second revolution taking place in Connecticut. The first will be celebrated 250 years later on July 4, 2026. The second might possibly occur on November 3, 2026, when Connecticut holds its elections. A new Governor could emerge from that election, along with a State Senate and State House that become Republican rather than maintaining the omnipotent, incompetent, and destructive legendary one-party rule of the Connecticut Democrat Party. Starting from now, all sorts of gaming and backroom political deals are being negotiated in both parties. The huge political plum of highly paid state nonjobs is being jockeyed for. Despite the continual failure and malfeasance of the (should-be-abolished-scandal ridden) Connecticut Department of Economic Development (“DECD”), the lure of free taxpayer money in the form interest-free, forgiven “economic” loans, shady undisclosed loans, and race-based loans are now being discussed in the traditional horse-trading manner using Democrat Party donations, votes, and that are sought after sinecure of being a Commissioner of something-or-other, regardless of personal ability and qualification. And in the executive suite of this putrid boiler-room, the Lamont reign continues its gaming with its neat cloak of Cayman Island accounts, deals hiding in nonprofits such as the UCONN Foundation and ADVANCE CT, and working through “quasi-public” organizations such as the now-clearly Lamont-connected (and covert) “Connecticut Innovations”, needless to say a subsidiary of that same, failed DECD.
But is there hope for improvement? As of now, It is now clear that two young candidates have emerged in the race for Governor on the Republican ticket: former New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart and Greenwich State Senator Ryan Fazio. Stewart chose to run for Governor rather than seek re-election as Mayor after 12 years. The question on many minds is: if Stewart was such a good Mayor, why did a Democrat liberal named Bobby Sanchez become elected as the new Mayor rather than the Republican candidate replacing Erin Stewart? Does this lack of momentum carry over into her run for Governor as a Republican? As questions abound on social media as to her real commitment to Republican principles, or sometimes any principles that could be clearly ascertained.
It is my opinion that State Senator Ryan Fazio seems to have more to offer in his candidacy for Governor, as he demonstrates conceptual conservatism in several of his ideas and has been active in the Connecticut State Senate. Will this be enough to satisfy the Republican Party and its members? There are a great many voters who supported President Trump, contrary to what the Republican Party elites believed or gave credit for. Can they be given a candidate they can endorse and support both financially and in getting out the conservative message and vote, especially in the inner cities and among young voters? These are the same young voters who are accepting without question the horrors and lies of both socialism and communism.
However, both of these young candidates have either not grasped, (or have ignored) the brutal destruction of Connecticut largely at the hand of the Lamont administration and of the Connecticut administrative state, to date. Will either candidate stand up to corruption? Will either candidate have the temerity and the intestinal fortitude to rail Ned Lamont (and where necessary, Ann Lamont) for the myriad and well-documented history of profiting from the state? Will either candidate have the ability and leadership skills to appoint competent Commissioners that will dismantle and revamp malignant bureaucracies such as the DECD? And this is a short list of critical tasks, but all are so critically needed to fix the wreckage called Connecticut. Ignoring these issues is an insult to every legitimate taxpaying citizen.
You see regardless of what you may be told, Connecticut is not in good shape financially or socially. The state has massive short- and long-term debt between 100 and 150 Billion dollars, an illegal immigrant problem, a massive crime problem, a huge corruption problem, a horrific illegal drug problem, an infrastructure problem, and a critical crisis in the ethics, honesty, information sharing, and transparency of its state government, all of which are funded by Connecticut taxpayers. It is an abysmal failure going somewhere to happen.

Connecticut- The Land Of Unsteady Anarchy
It is apparent to the most casual of observers that a number of events are taking place that were unthinkable to most in Connecticut just several years ago. Donald Trump is President, sending at least a third of the state into an emotional fit. Governor Ned Lamont, (the “Savior of Covid-19”) has been subpoenaed to testify in the Federal corruption trial of his former director of his construction office with relation to a clear and documented question about his surreptitious financial involvement with “Covid Test” company Sema4. The once-untouchable Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development is embroiled in a larceny scandal now under the microscope of a Federal Grand Jury and said Department is now being justifiably gored daily by citizen journalists like my friend and colleague Tony De Angelo. Angry parents thoroughly disrupted a “vaccine access panel” of legislators and the politically connected in September. Voting is proven to be suspect, but now, voters are aware of this fact as they no longer read or watch state-run news telling them otherwise. Citizens are rising up in many places to take on and challenge their local governing bodies. It is truly a wonderful time to be a witness to a great number of just desserts being consumed as humble pie by many in the politically connected stratosphere.
But one wonders if a large part of the upheaval described above is a by-product of an impending wave of anarchy. "Book definition" describes anarchy as a state of disorder due to the absence or nonrecognition of authority or other controlling systems. Does this sound familiar in 2025? If one exits the wasteland of local state-run news in Connecticut, it is most clear that a general sense of anarchy is occurring in our states, country, and the world. The examples of this general anarchy are far-reaching and have done a great deal to erode our country. We have lost trust in local and state government along with seeing the daily hatred of all things President Trump. We have lost trust in our judicial system as non-elected activist judges create their own interpretations of law, and taxpayers will be damned if you do not agree with them. We have lost trust in our elected officials especially in Democrat run states like Connecticut where transparency in nonexistent. We have lost trust in our public schools and universities as they pound in the minds of the students the supposed greatness of socialism and totalitarian views in the minds of the students. We have lost trust in our safety as criminals are now the victims while victims are treated as criminals. We have lost trust in our society and societal norms. And in Connecticut, we have lost trust in anyone somehow connected with the state and local government.
Connecticut is unique in the political anarchy it provides with its Taxpayers. Years of inept one-party rule by the Democrat Party have taken a great toll on the state's economic vibrancy and health along with a general stagnation and dilution of the privately employed working middle class. The working middle class is burdened with excessively high local and state rates that do little to better their lives. The working middle class is burdened also with an out of touch with reality public school system and its hatred of opposing views. Citizen videos of board proceedings in places like Norwich, Groton and Newtown, Connecticut are watched in shocking reality-show fashion by startled thousands online. And to the viewer it is quite clear that none of these municipalities give a tinker’s damn about the views of their taxpaying citizens. The disregard for these citizens is beyond sickening.
"A behavioral therapist for the Newtown Public School district is under fire after her inflammatory social media posts in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination caught the attention of parents in the community. The therapist, Danielle Slaughter Lozer has been busy locking down her social media profiles since the complaints against her emerged, but not before parents were able to screenshot the kinds of things Lozer had been posting.
Lozer's post that sparked the complaint described Charlie Kirk as a "white, gum-heavy, devil" who "constantly trashed Black people like we were garbage" and blamed him for "poisoning" other people's children with a platform "built on hate." "Death doesn't change your legacy, it reveals it," wrote Lozer. "And now, that voice of hate is gone and I'll be damned if you'll catch me feeling sorry for him or any of you who loved him so dearly! I said WTF I said!" (https://connecticutcentinal.com/newtown-school-behavioral-therapist-under-fire-hateful-racist-posts-parents-calling-for-dismissal/)
Why in Heaven’s name would you want your behaviorally challenged child to be seen by this lunatic? And why is the Newtown Board of Education not overtly and preemptively resolving this situation? And why is no one in the state Republican Party (including presumptive gubernatorial candidates) calling this situation out for the abomination that it is? One can also see that Danielle Slaughter Lozer is part of much broader issue in public education today with her hatred of white people and all things President Trump. How does she separate her personal and work lives? Does a harmless child coming into school with a MAGA hat face trouble from her? This Newtown Public School therapist needs to be fired. What if she were a Caucasian lady wearing a "KKK" cap and posting about Black hatred online? Parents of the children she has seen need answers, now. It is clear in the Land of Unsteady Anarchy that Freedom of speech is for only the fringe side and not for anyone that is normal.
But the poison of Connecticut "business as usual" is still pervasive. On a state level, taxpayers still do not get any answers from state officials on the corruption seen at the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development which continues to operate even after a Federal Grand Jury investigation for malfeasance and ostensible theft continues. Money continues to flow to such dubious efforts as “QuantumCT” and “The Pizza Trail” with no examination of their economic viability. The Connecticut Department Economic Development faces no pushback by anyone in politics and has no boundaries. No bid contracts, no bid consulting contracts, unlimited cash with no questions asked for non-profits who in many cases need a profit to support their overpaid management teams, all issues that go unanswered and forgotten about. The Department of Economic and Community Development is a great example of political anarchy in the state.

Who to believe in Connecticut?
Who to believe in Connecticut? This is a question without an answer. Take the Connecticut Health System. We found out this past Thursday night that Dr. Deidre Gifford retired from her leadership role at Connecticut’s Office of Health Strategy. Mind us all this is not some quiet fade into the sunset, but rather it is a blaring siren of scandal, drenched in fraud allegations tied to a canceled Medicaid audit. That audit, abruptly shelved, is linked to a bribery case involving Konstantinos Diamantis, a former state official now infamous for questions on his dealings. Emails uncovered in the investigation show Gifford was in on discussions about contracts and payments that reeked of kickbacks. And if that is not enough, her legacy and professionalism reaches all the way back to the debacle of her Covid-19 management and her incessant push for vaccines harming many innocent citizens and children. And her career reaches back even farther to her leadership of the Department of Social Services (DSS), and it was a masterclass in screwing things up. Under her watch, administrative costs ballooned—state audits pegged DSS spending at $50 million over budget in 2018 alone, with no explanation beyond “operational needs.” Access to care cratered too: rural clinics closed at triple the national rate, leaving swaths of eastern Connecticut without Medicaid providers. Deidre is an exemplar for a leader in King Governor Ned Lamont the Unaccountable’s Connecticut; screw up, get involved in multiple failures and swindles, become unaccountable, hide, and when the wolf starts for your door, quit, skip out, and cash in on taxpayer money. It is the Connecticut Gold Standard.
Who to believe in Connecticut? That is easy! Believe Ned Lamont! The Unaccountable was crowing on Thursday about U.S. News and World Report ranking Connecticut #8 in its 2025 economy category, which sounds great until you dig into how they got there. For the economy part, the report focuses on business environment, employment, and growth. Connecticut scores decently here because of the statistical and income distortion of Fairfield County millionaires and Yale graduates. But here is the catch: it tanked at #48 for fiscal stability and #43 for opportunity. So, we see that U.S. News is cherry-picking features to a privileged few and downplaying the ugly characteristics we are all too familiar with. There is no mention of the 2025 "Rich States, Poor States" report ranking Connecticut 44th for economic outlook and 48th for performance. There is no mention of the state’s crushing pension debt, high taxes, serial and blatant corruption, and business-hostile regulations. So, in the final analysis, you can’t believe The Unaccountable either, (but you already knew that).
Who to believe when it comes to the Connecticut Legislature? This is another unanswerable question. We do not know, especially when it comes to state budgets that normally are voted on at all times of the day and night with no transparency. There are no negotiations on state budget with the minority Republican party, even though this year Republicans presented a tepid alternative budget that somewhat lowers taxes and cuts spending. “This budget is a step toward what residents deserve—affordability, accountability, and flexibility in the face of federal funding uncertainty,” stated Finance Committee ranking member Rep. Joe Polletta (R-Watertown). But the Democrats immediately condemned the Republican plan as “House Speaker Matt Ritter (D-Hartford) said the plan is “not the most serious document I’ve ever seen, so we’ll probably have to write this one off.” (https://www.cbia.com/news/issues-policies/house-gop-state-budget-plan). Certainty the last ten years of Democrat fiscal horse-manure rammed down Connecticut Taxpayers throats are not the most serious documents I have ever seen and should have been written off for their excessive taxation, spending and loss of personal freedoms slammed into them. But again, Connecticut's Democrat party does not believe in either opposing voices, co-operation with elected officials from the opposition party nor any type of compromise or citizen input. They rule with an iron hand.
Trying to understand this new Democrat budget that again raises spending and taxes offers nothing different than in past budgets. Spending will go up over $1 billion dollars, since the first year of the budget increases spending over $395 million dollars, and the second year follows suit with over $770 million dollars according to initial estimates. Estimates of new and higher taxes for the first year of the budget are over $935 million dollars and over $1.2 billion dollars for the second year, although these figures are both secret and uncertain at the time of this writing. But who cares? As a reminder, Connecticut has $100 to $150 billion dollars in short- and long-term debt along with unfunded liabilities. Connecticut is unattractive to new citizens and businesses with its excessively high taxes along with a non-transparent and corrupted government. Why move to Connecticut? Why move your business to Connecticut? Given this economic situation of high taxes and high state debt it really would be an economically incoherent move.
Who to believe in Connecticut regarding solutions to the messes? Solutions are nonexistent to Connecticut's fiscal problems in the realm of the political class. I have written about this for many years now and all is getting worse. Connecticut badly needs a citizen driven "DOGE" type commission as has been recommended by my good friend Tony De Angelo on his weekly segment on the Lee Elci show 94.9 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBxTuCSLdCw) A no holds barred approach of dismantling the current bureaucracy is critically necessary and would be truly helpful to Connecticut Taxpayers to see where their hard earned tax monies actually go to. Is Connecticut efficiently run? Is there waste and fraud occurring in the state budget? Are all monies accounted for going to the correct accounts and programs? Does state government have excessive management positions and or excessive "do nothing" types of jobs? Why are public hearings on state spending issues limited in nature? What is the plan to pay off the state's massive debt? Could you really trust anyone connected to a state paycheck or income stream to give you an answer on any of those questions? (And it is almost a certainty that the next Republican candidate for Governor will turn against such a necessary analysis and will state his or her belief that the state can fix itself fiscally with a little help and guidance).
