The 2016 Swick Connecticut Retention Package

What will will it take to retain my wife and I to live in Connecticut before we move out?
We are both life long residents of Connecticut.  We were both born and raised here.  We have faithfully paid our taxes since we started working.  We have paid our ever increasing state income tax since it was enacted over the outcry of Connecticut Taxpayers.  We have paid every other conceivable Connecticut tax since we were born.
We are threatening to move out of Connecticut.  We do not want to however the current economic climate and the corrupted political system has given us no choice than to look at other states.  We have seen the packages offered in others states such as Florida and the Carolinas.  In some of these other states that have made offers we would experience a much lower state tax burden than we have in Connecticut.   In some of these other states that have made offers we would experience a much lower local/property/county tax burden than we have in Connecticut.   In some of these other states that have made offers we would experience much lower insurance rates for property and autos than we have in Connecticut.
Again please do not take lightly our threat to move out of Connecticut.  My wife and I pay an enormous sum in state and local taxes. My wife and I support economically local businesses through our purchases.  I have educated many young people over my thirty four years of being an Adjunct Professor of Business and Economics in many Connecticut Colleges and Universities.  All of this would be a massive economic hit to the state and local economy if we were to move out of Connecticut.
Please do think these are talking points either just because it is election time.  Our thoughts are real.
We feel that what is good for Sikorsky is good for the Swick's.  We feel what is good for Connecticut's First Five is good for the Swick's.  We feel what is good for political crony capitalism is good for the Swick's.  After all we have been here much longer than many individuals and corporations who feed off the Connecticut Taxpayers.  Now it should be our turn.
Thus what is the offer from the Governor and our State Legislature?

The silence is deafening to the Swick's.

More Connecticut Taxpayers Corporate Welfare Per Dan Malloy

-->
Dan Malloy is at it again spending Connecticut Taxpayers monies in yet another corporate welfare scheme.  Winners get picked daily by the Connecticut Democrat Party.
This time in an effort to stop the hemorrhaging of the upcoming losses for the Connecticut Democrat party in the November election, Malloy negotiated a massive $220 million dollar taxpayer subsidy to Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockhead Martin which is a $46.3 billion dollar corporation.  Supposedly this complex arrangement allows for 200 of the taxpayer funded CH-53K King Stallion heavy-lift helicopters to be built in Connecticut for the U.S. Navy until at least 2032.  After 2032 is apparently anybody’s guess and by that time I am sure the agreement will be long lost. And in 2032 Sikorsky will threaten to leave Connecticut and a new and even larger Connecticut Taxpayer funded subsidy will be granted. Note that  Lockheed Martin bought Sikorsky from United Technologies Corporation last year for a mere $9 billion dollars.
Looking more closely at this agreement I wonder how this benefits Connecticut Taxpayers who are funding it?  For example, sales and use taxes will be exempted up to $5.7 million dollars a year over the term of the agreement.  That will cost Connecticut Taxpayers $361,950. yearly.  If they exceed target level employment by a mere 100 to 550 jobs in any year of the agreement Connecticut Taxpayers will be on the hook to pay them a performance incentive grant of $1.9 million dollars a year for a total of up to $20 million dollars.
Thus we have more of the same for Connecticut Taxpayers, higher personal and business taxes for most and many exemptions for those companies in the state of Connecticut that are politically connected.  Here is some realistic math for this subsidy.  $220 million dollars of your tax monies is being used to help subsidize a $46.3 billion dollar company.  For corporations who can negotiate these types of sweetheart deals it does not better than that.  And once again Connecticut Taxpayers get left out of the gravy train that we call Connecticut state government. For Connecticut Taxpayers is yet again another lose, lose irrational economic policy.  When will it ever stop?  Not in my lifetime apparently.

Connecticut Must Change. Vote Republican Serge Mihaly for State Representative 85th District

A constant theme I utilize in my writings is that: “It Is Time To Take Back Connecticut In November.”   And in the 85th State House District of Wallingford that I live in there is no better example of a career Democrat politician who has contributed to the economic decline of our state than Democrat Mary Mushinsky who has been in office for 36 years now.  Looking back at her voting record voters should be reminded of her votes for the utopian state income tax and for the two largest tax increases in state history under the Malloy regime.  One can argue vehemently that career Democrat Representative Mushinsky’s tax and spend policies have help make Connecticut the doormat of most economic categories for cost of living, taxes, and business operations costs to name a few.  Connecticut lacks economic vibrancy.  Connecticut has one of the highest tax rates in the country.    I think taxpayers and voters are just in placing a good portion of the blame for our failed economic state on career Democrat Representative Mushinsky’s tax and spend policies.
I just wonder if the voters of Wallingford’s 85th District have had enough of her tax and spend policies that have produced the never-ending economic debacle that we see Connecticut as in 2016?   Isn’t time for a change?  Hasn’t years of omnipotent one party rule severely impacted Connecticut’s ability to prosper?  At what point do taxpayers and voters demand a plan to pay off Connecticut’s long term debt of $60 to $80 billions of dollars?
Republican candidate for State Representative Serge Mihaly is an educated individual who understands our state economy and realizes that the never-ending Democrat tax and spend policies must end.  He understands the economic problems of our state huge pension liabilities.  He understands that the state employee health care plan has the highest costs in the country that are subsidized through our tax monies.  He understands that our state government salaries are excessively high as compared to other states and must be contained.  He is willing to actually work for taxpayers to reduce their tax burden and make Connecticut great again.
Mihaly stated: “Hartford is too involved in our lives and excessive taxation is proof. Legislators view money as power, the more the better. But who better than you and I to know what we need and how to spend what we make? The less of our money government has, the less they can interfere.”  (8/5/16 Meriden Record Journal)
It Is Time To Take Back Connecticut In November.  And what better way than to replace the tired and economically ineffective policies of career Democrat politician Mary Mushinsky than with the crisp and new effective economic policies of Republican Serge Mihaly.
Vote Serge Mihaly for State Representative in Wallingford’s 85th District in November.

9/11/2001. Think About It This November.

On September 11, 2001 2,996 Americans were murdered in cold blood by radical Islamic terrorists.  These 2,996 Americans who died should never be and will never be forgotten by our country no matter how bad many in society wish to turn a blind eye to terrorism.  And we as a country are still fighting a very costly and dangerous war against terrorism in 2016, fifteen years later.
The economic costs of 9/11 and the subsequent fifteen years have been staggering in my opinion.  If one adds the damage to our infrastructure on 9/11 along with the rebuilding process and the additional costs of security and our never ending wars in Iraq and the Middle East, we may estimate upwards of over $5 Trillion dollars has been spent so far with no end in sight.   Air flight has been impacted due to long security check point lines and the inspection of luggage.  The TSA has morphed into a $7 Billion dollar a year bureaucracy financed minimally by travelers $2.50 per airplane ticket tax.   And are we more secure than the morning of 9/11/2001?
And why haven't we won the war against terrorism yet?  Why?  Because we have allowed our Congress to fight the war on terrorism instead of our military?  Because we have become politically correct in our views of terrorists?  Do some individuals in our country wish for this terrorism to occur?  At what price do we continue to pay for our supposed safety and well being against an enemy who in my opinion should have been eliminated many years ago?
On September 11, 2001 2,996 Americans were murdered in cold blood by radical Islamic terrorists.
Please do not forget these individuals who gave their lives on that day.  And please do not forget the many thousands more who have been murdered in all of the other terrorists attacks and wars throughout the world since 9//11/2001.
Terrorism needs to be eliminated.  There is strength in powerful leaders who wish to eliminate terrorism.  Think about it this November.  End it now.

Republican Len Suzio for State Senator in the 13th State Senate District

Republican Len Suzio is running again for State Senate in the 13th State Senate District that covers the communities of Cheshire, Meriden, Middlefield, and Middletown.  Mr. Suzio represented that District several years ago and was defeated in the last election by very few votes in an exceptionally close election.
Len Suzio is a man of principal and integrity something that in my opinion is sorely lacking in today’s State Legislature.  He also in my opinion understand the pitfalls of the tax and spend policies that have encumbered our state economy for many years now.  He has an exceptional background in the banking industry, is well educated and has been very active in the Meriden community.
The one area that I agree completely with Mr. Suzio is the elimination of Connecticut’s early release program for prison inmates.  He claims the state is failing and has failed to report that many prisoners who have been released before completing their sentences are now back in prison with such horrific crimes such as rapes and murders.  Mr. Suzio has stated the State Commissioner is not releasing vital information about these crimes being committed by prisoners who are let out early from our prisons in the state.   To me this should be a major campaign issue in Connecticut in 2016 but is being overlooked due to the horrific economic conditions the state is facing due to the years of economic neglect thanks to the Connecticut Democrat Party.
If you are a voter in the 13th State Senate District I urge you to send Len Suzio back to the State Senate to represent you.  He is an outstanding candidate to help Connecticut become strong again.
It is Time To Take Back Connecticut in November vote for Republican Len Suzio for State Senator in the 13th State Senate District.

Looking For A Job-Former Connecticut Democrat Officials Need Not Look Far From Connecticut Non Innovations

The corruption never ends here in Connecticut.  Connecticut Democrats who have served in the State Legislature never have to look far for a high paying position paid for by the Connecticut Taxpayers.
The new poster child for political cronyism and political corruption is former Democrat State Senator Gary LeBeau of East Hartford who was a public school teacher and administrator and received a $75,000 no bid consulting contract with the Connecticut Taxpayer funded Connecticut Innovations Agency.  This agency supposedly provides support for companies in our state that are innovative,  has given a $75,000 consulting contract to a 69-year-old former state legislator who spent his life as a public school teacher/administrator — and never worked in business in his life.
In case you do not what "Connecticut Innovations" is, here is a blurb from their Connecticut Taxpayer funded website http://ctinnovations.com/about:
"Remember what you were doing in 1989?
We do. It’s the year we were formed by the Connecticut State Legislature to help promising technology companies get off the ground.
Fast-forward 20 years. Today, CI is the leading source of financing and ongoing support for Connecticut’s innovative, growing companies. With the addition of our Small Business Innovation Team in 2009 and our merger with the Connecticut Development Authority—the state’s lender—in 2012, CI now proudly serves great Connecticut companies, no matter what stage of growth they’re in."
It is funny to me as a taxpayer to see how bad our state economy has evolved into since 1989 and since the founding of Connecticut Innovations.  I do not see more jobs for our state since 1989.  I do not see many businesses moving into our state.  I do not see more business tax revenues being developed in our state.
I do see political cronyism at its best with the hiring of former Democrat State Senator Gary LeBeau of East Hartford who was a public school teacher and administrator and received a $75,000 no bid consulting contract from them.
Why?  Why was this man with no business experience hired as a consultant?
Obviously he paid his Connecticut Democratic Party dues and deserves such a position.
Maybe we should eliminate funding for Connecticut Innovations since it appears to me there is little economic innovation here in Connecticut except for an archaic and Democrat based politically inept economic policies that have bankrupted the state since 1989.
This political hack did not deserve this contract.  It is yet another insult for Connecticut Taxpayers.
It is Time To Take Back Connecticut in November.
Vote for a Republican majority in the State House and State Senate in November.

Connecticut's Labor Day-Connecticut's Taxpayers Must Keep Working To Support Our Ruling Political Elite

Happy Labor Day.  For Connecticut Taxpayers they must keep working.  And keep working.  And keep working.  No matter what time or day or holiday.  While our Governor flies around the country raising cash for his Democrat Party and uses it any way he pleases many Connecticut Taxpayers must keep working on Monday to pay their bills especially their Connecticut tax bills.  One of the highest tax burdens in the country.  Taxes and unlimited spending are part of the Connecticut Democrat Party way of life.  As much as the realization is setting in that the Connecticut Democrat Party is bracing themselves for huge defeats on a state level in November (except in the cities where they know the election can be manipulated) the Connecticut Democrat Party still feels there is a revenue not a spending problem in the state.
The new fiscal 2016-17 state budget is riddled with deficits.  Money has been constantly spent around the Constitutional State Budget Cap by our elected officials even in this new fiscal year.  And the states money has run out again in my opinion even before the fiscal year has begun.  This is the economic reality and economic record that any Democrat State Representative or State Senator is running for election or re-election on.  Out-of-control state spending of Connecticut Taxpayer's monies along with constant tax increases is the Connecticut Democrat Party platform.  And yet they try to blame the Connecticut Republican Party for their fiscal mess.
Connecticut has evolved into a state of excessive burdens created by the Connecticut Democrat Party.  High taxes, an artificially high socialistic price control system for beer, wine and spirits, a horrific and decaying infrastructure, high unemployment taxes for businesses, a taxpayers funded pension system that has no financial caps or limits and a broken and corrupted political system that defies any logic.
Many Connecticut Taxpayers can not wait to move out of state.  A recent survey showed four out of ten state residents want out.  To me that speaks volumes of the horrific economic and tax policies that the Connecticut Democrat Party have inflicted upon our state.  Enough is enough.
For those Connecticut Taxpayers who must work this Labor Day think about how Connecticut's economically irrational omnipotent one party rule system has damaged the state.
And think about voting for those brave Republican candidates for State Representative and State Senate who are willing to fight to take back our state from the economic morass and political corruption that defines the Connecticut Democrat Party this election.
It is Time To Take Back Connecticut in November.
