Sunday's Random Thoughts

Some Random Sunday Thoughts-back from my writing vacation:
Apparently if you do business in Connecticut one must make a contribution to Hartford's Ominpotent One Party-The Elite Democratic Party.  Obviously, it is legal and encouraged.  Think about it next time you paying one of Connecticut's many highest taxes in the country.  Think about it when you paying one of the highest gas prices in the country while stuck in yet another traffic jam on one of Connecticut's highways.
Obamacare still does not work, nor do we know how much taxpayers will be paying both for their new policies and the new hidden taxes of the plan.  Obamacare remains an inept economic debacle.  Taxpayers and voters will ultimately blame the Democratic party for this nightmare.  It still should be repealed immediately.
Any news on the different Obama scandals?  The NSA?  The IRS?  Obamacare?   Benghazi?   EPA emails?  Circumventing the Constitution?  Recess Appointments?  Just wondering if any truths will be found?
Oh well just three more years of this economic debacle of an Administration...

Yes I Am Now A Victim Of Obamacare-My Policy Was Cancelled

I am victim.  Should I be surprised?  Should I be angry?  Should I just marvel at the economic stupidity of this Administration in its implementation of this socialized health care program?  However I am still a victim.
I have a health insurance policy today, which will be ending when it is time for renewal.  The insurance company has stated that there will similar plans available to the one I currently have.  Really?  What new deductibles will I be forced to pay for?  What new mandated procedures that I will not use must I pay for?  How much higher will my premiums go up in this new policy?
It is a secret.  It is a secret to understand the economic illiteracy of Obamacare.  A plan developed on whim with many political favors being paid off and special interest lobbying groups being compensated.  All in the name of a failed socialized health care plan.  All in the name to desperately try to create a socialized single payer system.  
Obamacare is the medical and economic nightmare we must endure forced upon us by the Democratic Party in Washington.  They own it, their names are on it. 

I also find it amusing that the Connecticut Socialized Health Care exchange known as Access Health, CT is spending a mere $75,000 to have three murals painted and placed in three health care buildings throughout the state.  What a new and creative way to waste taxpayer’s monies here in Connecticut-notice also how the media does not cover this story.


But hey-I am a victim of the largest health care scam that our economy will ever have to endure and pay for.   And many more will be victims of Obamacare.  It is the new cancer of our economy.

Mr. Malloy's Economic Wasteland

We know there is an election upon us in 2014.  We know here in Connecticut we are near last in all economic categories as compared to other states.  We have one of the highest tax rates in the country along with almost the highest costs in workers compensation insurance, unemployment compensation taxes, high local property taxes, a lack of economic growth, and a dismal business climate.
Voters in Connecticut hopefully will recognize that this is the record of Mr. Malloy and Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule in the State Legislature.
I am curious as to how the state is going to end up with yet again another massive budget deficit after Mr. Malloy's massive $1.8 billion dollar tax increase when he took office-I thought this was going to resolve the state's fiscal deficit issues?  What happened?  What is the Governor's explanation?  Is it he has only been in office for three years now?  For three years now we see a lack of economic growth, a lack of economic development (except for those companies who contribute to the Democratic party) and a continual net loss of citizens in the state.  That is apparently an excellent record to run a reelection campaign upon.
Mr. Malloy has helped to nurture more of the same helping make Connecticut a vast economic wasteland.
We really need to see a democracy in Hartford again.  We need to see a state government that actually represents the taxpayers that pay for it.  We need to end the brutal regime of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule.

The Iranian Deal-Why?

What is the point of the new deal with Iran?  What is the benefit of it to the world?
I am confused once again by the foreign policy amateur hour in Washington.
The United States releases Iranian assets to prop up their economy.
The Iranian government gives up?  Their ability to create a nuclear weapon?  What is different about this agreement that the Iranians will abide by that is different from the agreements of 1994,2005 and 2007 that they did not abide by?
Doesn't this agreement allow for Iran to continue to enrich uranium?  And what purpose realistically does Iran's nuclear program serve in a "peaceful" sense when they control massive amounts of oil and natural gas?  What about the gross human rights violations and political prisoners in Iran?

Thus we prop back up the Iranian economy and get no concessions from them-at a time when the economic sanctions were working.  More superb and well thought out foreign policy on the part of the Obama Administration-agree to a one sided deal with Iran.
Maybe just maybe some members of our Congress on both sides of the aisle could question and veto this agreement which is not in any way shape or form good for the United States or the world.  But for an Administration that has brought us Obamacare, Benghazi, the NSA scandal, and the IRS scandal we should just expect more of the same.  Incompetence at the highest level of our government.

Nuclear Option-Obamacare-NSA Scandal-IRS Scandal-Benghazi Scandal-Does It Ever End?

Does this Administration have any leadership ability whatsoever after five years in office?
Now we have a nuclear option being used in the Senate by the Democrats.  Why?
To push through radicals for our court system since the Democrats are in grave danger of losing the Senate in 2014?
We still have not received any answers to all of the questions of the Obamacare debacle.
We still have not received any answers to all of the questions of the NSA security scandal.
We still have not received any answers to all of the questions of the IRS scandal.
We still have not received any answers to all of the questions of the Benghazi murders of United States citizens.
We have not received many answers in five years of the Administration.
Why?
Is Mr. Obama capable of governing this office of the Presidency?  Or does he feel he is an Emperor ruling over his serfs in serfdom?  Why?

I am still waiting for answers as a taxpayer.  I guess I have to wait until 2017 for leadership and answers-hopefully we will still have a country by then.

The Questions That Still Are Not Answered About Our Affordable Health Care Act

In my last blog I raised several questions about Obamacare, the new socialized health care plan forced upon us by Democrats in Congress along with our President.
None of the questions have been answered at this time.  
Thus I still have many unresolved questions and issues about this debacle of a health care plan. I still would like to know how much it will costing taxpayers to implement and keep funded in the future.  I still would like to know more about the new improved Congressional plan that is being offered to our Congress and their staffs.  This plan seems to be incredibly low in cost due to a massive taxpayer’s subsidy for it along much better coverage that what you and I common taxpayers are eligible for and theoretically can afford with no taxpayers subsidies.  I still wonder how and why that is legal.   Why did Congress basically exempt themselves from Obamacare?  How are reimbursements going to be paid and by whom to health care procedures and doctors?  Is this a part of the actual bill?  Why was the health care website not checked for security purposes?  Why were there no background checks for those employed as these navigators?  And what will happen as personal information is hacked-will Obamacare take care of this?
This Affordable Care Act will define Mr. Obama, his Presidency and the Democrat party in general.  It is an economic and medical debacle and nightmare.  They own it.  

And my questions still do not get answered especially how much this is going to cost taxpayers.

I Apologize-You Still Must Accept My Health Care Plan-Any Questions?

Why should we still accept Obamacare?  Are there any economic advantages or medical advantages to socialized health care?  Why were five million policies cancelled due to this law?  What was economically and medically wrong with these policies?  Why is Congress not subject to Obamacare but has exempted themselves from it? Were any members of Congress or this Administrations policies cancelled?  How much is it actually going to cost to develop a workable health insurance web site portal?  What will be the costs in the long run to maintain it?  What is a one year extension of your current plan actually going to do for you? How will the additional costs to Medicare and Medicare going to be paid for?  By taxpayers through yet even higher medical care taxes?  Higher payroll taxes?  What provisions in Obamacare are related to medical tort and medical malpractice settlement reforms?  At what age does medical care start to be rationed due to costs?
He apologized-You Still Must Accept His Health Care Plan-Any Questions?  Good.  There are no answers from this Administration.  I do not accept this apology.

Wallingford Voters-The Choice Is Clear On Tuesday-Vote Dickinson And The Republican Team

Wallingford voters have a clear choice for Mayor and those who will serve on both the Town Council and Board of Education.  Mayor William Dickinson has done a tremendous job as our Mayor for many years now.  He has the knowledge, education and leadership qualities to continue to lead Wallingford for the next two years.  He has no ego and does have the skills to continue to govern Wallingford.
If we truly look at the Democratic candidate for Mayor-do we really see management skills?  I do not see any according to his resume.  Do we see the advanced education along with finance expertise/knowledge to lead Wallingford?  I do not see any according to his resume. Do we see anything other than the constant drum beat of me, me, me in his campaign?  I see very little in Mr. Zandri’s qualification to run our town, nor was I impressed in his actions as a Town Councilor.  Being an IT person does not qualify you as a leader of multi-million dollar entity along with all of the essential day to day management functions that this position requires.

For Town Council Republican candidates Vincent Cervoni, Tom Laffin,  Craig Fishbein, John LeTourneau, Christine Mansfield, Bob Parisi and Ray Rys, all bring quality leadership and management to the Council.  They do not need power point slides nor ego to provide steady and conservative leadership to our town.  Our Republican Board of Education candidates all place needs before ego in their decisions also.


On Tuesday Vote William Dickinson and the Republican team for Wallingford.  I know  if you love our town as much as I do you will stay the course of exceptional leadership and government and Vote Republican.

Wallingford = Strong Republican Leadership

Wallingford has strong Republican leadership.  Whether we look at the Mayor, the Town Council or the Board of Education, we see strong and dedicated Republican leadership.  We see a Republican Mayor who is strong in leadership and in economic values.  We see a Republican Board of Education that values our students while understanding its fiscal responsibilities to taxpayers.  We see a Republican Town Council that exhibits fiscal restraint and respects taxpayers while providing funding for services for our town.
Our town is excellent shape financially.  It has one of the highest bond ratings in the state.  This is due to a dynamic Republican Mayor who places Wallingford's needs first rather than his political ego.  He and our Republican Town Councilors do not need power point presentations to resolve supposed issues in Wallingford.  They take action-not relying on rhetoric and or irrational economic arguments.
Wallingford Republicans lead and have led our community with low taxes, low electric rates, an Aaa bond rating and excellent services.
They deserve to continue to lead in 2014.
Vote Mayor Dickinson and the Republican team for Town Council and Board of Education next week.

Obamacare's Utopian Agenda And Economic Fantasy Developed Through Lies

Sorry, you can not keep your current health care plan.  There is no way economically possible that you can or that the current plan that you have still actually exists.  It is reality with Obamacare.  It is reality that Mr. Obama and his Administration lied to Americans about being able to keep your current health care plan.  You can't.  Look at all the companies who now must change their health care plans, find new plans, see coverage lowered and premiums skyrocket.  That is the new Socialism of health care in 2013.  That is the Obamacare Utopian Agenda and Economic Fantasy.  It is in reality all economic lies.
All lies just like Benghanzi, NSA, and the IRS scandals.  Lies and more lies.  Just like all of the lies about Obamacare.
What are the actual costs for his socialized health care plan?  Just pick a number from the sky-we are probably looking at at least $2 trillion dollars over the next two years for implementation and enforcement.
$2 trillion dollars could have been used to buy insurance for those, trillions, billions and or millions (pick a number since this is also a lie also) of Americans who supposedly do not have health insurance.
Why?  Why are taxpayers monies being used to prop up this already failed Obamacare Utopian Agenda and Economic Fantasy?
Americans deserve better than this.  The lies are horrific and disturbing.  And this rogue socialistic program needs to end now.

Wallingford AAA Bond Rating And Low Mill Rate=Well Managed Government

Why is a Aaa bond rating bad?  Why is a low tax mill rate bad?  In my economic opinion it is a sign of economic efficiency in the town government of Wallingford.   Wallingford's mill rate is one of the lowest in the area at 26.22 mills.  Since the state mandates by law a revaulation of all property every five years property values have a tendency to go up as Wallingford is a very desirable place to live with a Aaa bond rating, excellent schools, low electric rates and low stable taxes.  Thus we see much higher property values in Wallingford as compared to other towns that have lower property values, higher tax mill rates and higher property taxes being paid out.  I know I would rather have a residential property that had great value when I was ready to sell it and have it be in demand when I sold it.  I experienced this when I sold my other house in Wallingford in 2009 (at the supposed peak of the economic downturn).
Trying to follow the Democratic arguments on how property is valued in our town and thus taxed makes no economic sense to me.  The state mandates the town to revaluate its property every five years.  It is the law.  If the Democrats do not like this then change the law on a state level, after all you are in charge in Hartford controlling all aspects of government there.  The formula that is used by the town is the one that is mandated by the state.  We are fortunate to see as much business and industry that we have in Wallingford which shifts a great deal of the property tax burden from residential property taxes to business property taxes.  The robust business and industry we have in 2013 in Wallingford helps to create a stable tax base which in my economic opinion is the envy of many other surrounding communities.
The economic reality of Wallingford is that it has a stable tax rate, it has exceptionally high property values and it has a dynamic business climate with economic growth being seen on a daily basis on our Route 5 corridor.
Aaa bond rating to me are rare.  Wallingford stands above our communities with its economic efficiency.
Low tax mill rates are rare in Connecticut.  Wallingford stands above our communities with its mill rate efficiency.
Well managed government can only take place when a Mayor places the town's needs above his political ego and ambitions.  Well managed government takes place with actions not stale and economically irrational rants about how bad things are supposedly.
The Democrats and Mr. Zandri still have not communicated how they are going to pay for all of their new and improved programs which in my economic opinion will burden Wallingford for future generations with higher residential property taxes.
The choice in November becomes more clear each day.
Vote Mayor Dickinson for another term along with his Republican majorities for Town Council and the Board of Education.

Voter Disinformation In Wallingford-Vote Dickinson For Mayor

Democrats normally do not stop at any level in voter disinformation.  Their task is to present the worse possible light even when things are great to advance their thoughts and ideas be as skewed as they are from reality, especially economic reality.  The current election in Wallingford is an excellent example.
Wallingford has been governed by an economically frugal and economically conservative Mayor William Dickinson for many years now and enjoys an Aaa bond rating.  It seems to be a source of discontent in 2013 that the Mayor does such an excellent job in running and managing the town fiscally.
In this election his opponent is pulling out all of the stops from the Democrat playbook on how to misinform the voting public.
As someone who has taught economics for many years now and have been involved in municipal finance for fourteen years I can not rationalize any of Mr. Zandri's economic arguments with regards to Wallingford's mill rate and assessments.  Contrary to his convoluted economic arguments the town follows the law imposed by the State of Connecticut with regards to assessments and mill rates.  Thus the voter disinformation on this non issue.
It has to really bother Wallingford Democrats that they are not allowed to tax and spend in free form and with free will like they do in Hartford and Washington.  Mr. Zandri has not presented to voters one piece of information as to how he will pay for any of his massive expansion of town programs and technologies.  Is the money going to fall from the sky?  Or realistically are our taxes going to increase dramatically because of these expansions?  In my economic opinion taxes can only go up and surpluses will be drained dramatically if he is elected.
Wallingford voters do have a choice.  They can have much higher taxes in 2014.  Or they can reelect Mayor William Dickinson with a Republican majority Town Council and Board of Education and maintain a fiscally sound community.

Re-elect William Dickinson For Mayor Of Wallingford

It is election day here in Wallingford in a few weeks.  For the past few months voters in Wallingford have been inundated with the usual anti-Wallingford, anti-Mayor Dickinson rhetoric.  This campaign has seen what amounts to wondering what town we are actually living in.
To me as a both as a voter and taxpayer the issues are clear.  Wallingford is one of the best fiscally run and managed communities in Connecticut.  It has a low tax rate, low electric rates, excellent schools and services, and an excellent bond rating.
It has been done with the guidance of a Mayor who places the town first before his needs and political ego.
It has been done with the guidance of a Mayor who has placed fiscal conservatism along rational economic thought first before the desires of special interest groups.
It has been done with the guidance of a Mayor who leads with actions rather than empty talk and promises.
It has been done with the guidance of a Mayor who does not have to constantly be on social media and tweeting all that he has done, will do or promises to do.  Mayor Dickinson actually accomplishes.
The economic reality of 2013 shows that good government does exist when a Mayor makes the harsh choices to be thrifty with every penny of taxpayers monies.  In my economic opinion this does not exist with the economically irrational Democratic leadership in both Hartford and Washington.
Wallingford voters have a choice.  We have an excellent government with Mayor Dickinson and six Republican Town Councilors and Republican Board of Education.  Vote them back into office November 5, 2013.  Do not be persuaded by the false promises and false economic realities that the opposition provides.

Democratic Economic Disinformation Is Everywhere-Washington, Hartford, Wallingford

Whether it is on the Local, State, or Federal level, I continue to be amazed at the economic disinformation that the Democratic party force feeds the public.
For the Washington governmental shutdown which is in reality is saving taxpayers a great deal of money, we hear obviously that is completely the Republicans fault.  It is the Republicans fault that the President will not be part of a non partisan, open type of communications government that speaks to the other side and tries to resolve its differences.  If you do not agree with this Administration's convoluted theories of economics you are not spoken to or heard from.  I guess that is good government in Washington.  Either agree or face the consequences, sort of like a Dictatorship.
Economic fantasies continue to grow and prosper among the ruling elite of Hartford's One Party Rule which continues to talk about the Governor inheriting the largest budget deficit in the state's history.  All Mr. Malloy did was to pass the largest tax increase in our state's history and we still have - guess what - a budget deficit, which will not go away any time soon.  Especially with the massive amount of unfunded liabilities that exist in our state government.  But if we do not think about them they will go away...for the next Administration.
Finally in Wallingford, the Democratic Mayoral candidate Mr. Zandri  has placed a new twist on our town's efficiency such as its  Aaa bond rating, low taxes, low electric rates and excellent school system.  He apparently does not believe we have one of the most transparent area governments, nor believes we have a low tax rate by the disinformation he has created about our tax mill rate.  I suppose if he ever got elected, he could state that his future tax increases are actually tax cuts and other related economic fantasies.  His grand plans will definitely cost taxpayers a great deal more in taxes, economically it can not be done any other way. In my economic opinion many taxpayers fear his economic rhetoric and will stay the course and re elect Mayor William Dickinson for another term.
Democratic economic disinformation is everywhere, it is truly is a burden to our economy and to the taxpayers who must pay for it.

G O V E R N M E N T S H U T D O W N - But Where Is Our Tax Money Going? $16,750,221,318,255.68 Trillion Dollar National Debt And Rising...

Our National Debt is $16,750,221,318,255.68 and rising.  $16.75 trillion and rising.  And with Federal Government unfunded liabilities we are looking at additional $100 trillion dollars which is off budget and out-of-sight from taxpayers.  Economically we could be considered bankrupt.
If one wonders where their tax monies they are paying is going during our government shutdown, it is a valid question given all of the doomsday economic rhetoric we are hearing at this time.  First in the first five years of the Obama Administration, the National Debt has increased by $4.93 trillion dollars, for those who despise all things Republican, under the Bush Administration it increased by $4.89 trillion dollars in eight years.  We still have three more years of this Administration, thus we may and probably will see an additional $3 to $6 trillion dollars in National Debt.  Our current tax monies are being used to basically continue paying the interest on the National Debt and to run certain services of government especially the salaries and benefits of the members of Congress and their staffs.  Our current Administration wants to prove its point by making this "shutdown" as nasty as possible, thus we are seeing the staged closings of our National Parks, Monuments, etc. (with the exception having a taxpayer funded rally for immigration at a "closed" governmental facility) with as much perceived pain as possible.  To me as a taxpayer it is laughable and insulting to my continued financial support of this rogue and economically irrational administration and government.   I thought our elected officials serve us?  Or are we now serfs in a non democracy type of serfdom?
The National Debt is out of control.  The costs of our new socialized health care system are out of control.  And the issues here for our new fiscal year should be to cut spending, come up with a plan to resolve the National Debt, come up with a plan to allow the free markets to create jobs and economic growth not government and most importantly allow the free markets to dynamically allow for better health insurance for all.
When will this Administration understand coherent economic thought?
Our National Debt is my $16,750,221,318,255.68 and rising.  That is the real issue that is avoided by all in politics and our ultra liberal media.

Vincent Cervoni For Wallingford Town Council

Mr. Cervoni is the Vice Chairman of the Wallingford Town Council.  I am going to use one of my votes to re elect him this November.  I had an opportunity to talk to him a few weeks back about his campaign and views for the upcoming election.

What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment or accomplishments as a member of the Council?
Mr. Cervoni: I don't take individual credit for individual accomplishments.  I am part of a team that is part of this administration.  In this term, my team kept the bonded indebtedness per-capita below $1000, bringing it closer to $900.  My team helped this Town maintain an Aaa bond rating.  These are important parts of the budget matrix that help keep tax increases very modest.  I'm also proud to have been part of the team that instituted an enterprise ambulance service.  By all reports, the enterprise ambulance service has proven to be a win-win for the residents.  My latest information is that the enterprise ambulance service has done so well that four more paramedics are being hired.

Low taxes, economic growth, forward thinking are all parts of Mr. Cervoni's platform and again he puts the needs of our community above personal political gain.  And that personal political gain and political posturing is very evident on the other side of the Town Council aisle. 
Mr. Cervoni has been in my opinion a strong and effective Council member, he is articulate and offers a great deal of insight on many issues that come forward to the Council.  Voters can check out more information on his website  www.vincentcervoni.com

Vote Tom Laffin Wallingford Town Council

I like Tom Laffin. I am going to vote for him as one of my votes for Wallingford Town Council. Tom is currently a member of the Wallingford Town Council and has served our community with great strength.  He has also served on the Wallingford Board of Education and is well aware of the issues going on in town. Tom brings to the Council a common sense approach to fiscal management of our town along with a business oriented focus. He is concerned about you and I the taxpayers who pay for our local government in his conservative approach to spending. Tom is well read and articulate on all issues he discusses on the Council.  I am impressed with his knowledge on issues and his ability to communicate his thoughts to the public.  He has no ego in his service to our town.  Raising his family here in town he has a vested interest in the well being of our community.  He is a life long resident of Wallingford and to me is greatly qualified to serve our community with his education and business experience. 

I believe we should keep Tom Laffin as one of our Town Councilors.  His professional approach to issues and problems that our Council faces is essential for the well being of Wallingford.

Vote Tom Laffin in November.

Oops We Are Out Of Money and A Mere $17 Trillion Dollars Plus In Debt

Oh well, five years into the Obama Administration and they still can not seem to create any economic results for our economy and country.  We hear the constant and daily rants against all Republicans who apparently will not compromise with the President.  Even though the President does not engage Congress nor have a coherent economic plan other than more economic socialization, more taxes, more spending and more debt-he keeps hammering away that it is all the Republicans fault.
However the economic buck stops with the President and his lack of leadership and lack of economic vision.  Obamacare is the next coming economic fiasco and the next ballooning of our National Debt.  All due to the belief that some people do not have health insurance in our economy-it would have been much cheaper to give them a full tax credit for them to have buy their insurance. 
Why does the President condemn business and industry but gladly accepts their campaign contributions?  Why the witch hunt against J.P. Morgan Chase?  The list is always endless with this Administration.
Now the defunding of government blame by the Obama Democrats along with the usual pointing the fingers at the Republicans.  Yet what is lost in this debate is that this Administration has done nothing economically to come to terms with the National Debt nor the yearly budget deficits that the Federal Government has each year.  It is always more spending, more programs which are unsustainable, more economic rhetoric, more economic damage, and more, more, more blame on the Republicans especially Senator Cruz.  What is this Administrations Plan on anything?
Well we are out of money to fund this albatross called the Federal Government.  And we are bankrupt to the tune of a $17 trillion dollar National Debt.  And the blame is directly on the Obama Administration.  The coming economic turmoil is the Democrats issue and problem alone.

How Much Higher Will Your Health Insurance Increase in 2014?

How much higher? A great deal.  Any way you look at it.  Real numbers and real dollars.  Higher premiums with less coverage. Rationed care.  Shortages of Doctors and skilled specialists.  All in the name of totalitarian control to gain single payer health care run by a bloated and economically irrational federal government.  A federal government who can not functionally run any program with economic efficiencies.   All in the mane of power and control.
Why?
Why should taxpayers support Obamacare?
Why should our health care be taken away from us?
Why did Congress and many other receive exemptions from it?
How does this make health care more affordable in our economy when premiums are skyrocketing?

I agree with Senator Ted Cruz-we need to defund this horrific health care plan today.  It is economically irrational for our economy and for our health.  If citizens can not afford insurance then give them a full tax credit each year to allow them to purchase it on the open market so they have coverage.  It would have resolved this issue.

Joe Marrone for the Wallingford Board of Education

I am using one of my votes to help re-elect Joe Marrone to the Wallingford Board of Education.  Mr. Marrone has done an excellent job in my opinion in his second term on the Board.  He shows a great deal of leadership qualities and characteristics in his actions on the Board of Education.  He has spent a great deal of time in examining all sides of the issues that come before the Board of Education.  That allows him to make in my opinion valid and effective votes on all topics.  Being a parent with children in the school system, Mr. Marrone takes an active role in what is actually going on in our schools with an eye to the future.
It is not an easy job to be a member of a Board of Education, but Joe does an excellent job in leading the debate on many issues.

Value

Education accounts for more than two-thirds of our town budget. We need to make sure that we are providing the highest quality of education to our children while providing the best value for our taxpayers.

Accountability

Our school system needs to be held accountable to our customers (our students, their parents, and the taxpayers that make it all possible) for delivering a results-based education.

Parental Involvement

Involved parents can do more for the education of a child than any school program. To that end, our school system needs to do as much as it can to foster the cooperation of parents, teachers and the school administration.

Vocational / Life Skills

Not every student is college bound. Students should be exposed to as many types of vocational skills as we can reasonably provide so that students that are not on an academic path can still succeed in life.

Bullying

We need to be ever vigilant and aggressive at combating bullying in our schools. Students can't learn if they are anxious or fearful of their classmates.

Academic Rigor and Fidelity of Instruction

We need to ensure that every student gets the same challenging, high quality education regardless of which school they attend or what teacher delivers the instruction.

Chris Shortell For Wallingford Board Of Education

One of my votes for Wallingford Board of Education will be going to Republican candidate Chris Shortell. He is an energetic candidate who offers a variety of new ideas and thoughts to the Board of Education here in Wallingford.  As a Father of two young children he also has a stake in the future of education in Wallingford.

To Dump Or Not To Dump In Wallingford? Here Comes The Rhetoric

Election time in Wallingford.  Here comes the rhetorical garbage.
I love Wallingford.  I wish it could be located in a different state.  Wallingford is a well managed and fiscally responsible community where we take pride.  That pride can be seen in many different ways.
Wallingford's strength can also be seen in its Mayor.  A Mayor who holds high ethical values.  A Mayor who holds conservative fiscal values for the town, placing the town's needs over his political gain.  A Mayor who has led the town through its ups and downs to make it what it is today.  A powerful economic community in a horrific economic state.
I guess one of the main campaign themes of this election is the wrongful dumping of materials by Public Works.  I guess I should staying up each night wondering where that waste is going and will be going?  I guess I should be wondering why and why again did this have to happen?  I guess this is a political crisis of the highest order.  I guess Wallingford will forever be changed by this garbage.
Pick any election in Wallingford and we hear the same story by the Democrats, just change the time, places and names.  Mayor Dickinson can not do any good and only the Democrats can change things.  I guess the local party wishes to replicate the economic debacle and nightmare that we see in Hartford.  Why have a town with low taxes, low electric rates, a AAA Bond rating, good schools and fiscal responsibility?  When we can have an economic morass instead with arrogance mixed in?
To dump or not to dump is the question?  I still will vote for Mayor Dickinson for another term.

Economic Chaos=Obamacare

The President is worried that free market thinking Republicans in the House and the Senate wish to defund Obamacare.  There is a movement in the House to defund Obamacare along with allowing the government to continue to operate with current lowered funding.   The President has as expected lashed out at this thought. He feels that those Republicans are not willing to compromise on the bill.  I am curious as to when the President has compromised in his agenda with Congress over the past five years?  And as a reminder in the past five years we have had several different forms of economic chaos that he has created including a runaway National Debt, a massive scandal in the IRS, massive problems in the Middle East including unanswered American deaths, a lack of both business and consumer confidence and an unworkable, economically irrational socialized health care plan on the horizon.
An unworkable, economically irrational socialized health care plan that both the President and Congress have opted out of.  Amazing what political power does.
Why?
Who is really creating the economic chaos?
And how much more economic chaos will ensue for for the next forty months of this Administration?
An economic debacle. A health plan debacle.  A domestic policy debacle.  A foreign policy debacle.
Obamacare-it will make America much sicker than it already is.  Thanks.

We must always remember this date and the lives lost in our society.
They were brutally murdered by terrorists and terrorism.
Their freedoms were violated for no reason at all except in the name of terrorism.
A terrorism which still exists today in many parts of the world.
And with weak leadership in our country on 9/11/13, twelve years later we still have yet to eliminate terrorism.  There is a great deal of rhetoric to state otherwise-but it still exists-and it costs our country a great deal of money to combat it.  It still has yet to go away.

Connecticut's Traveling Governor-Why Stay In The State And Govern?

Connecticut has a traveling Governor.
He travels to many places usually at Connecticut taxpayers expense.
He travels here.  He travels there.
This week he is traveling to Canada for yet another Governors conference.
Why?
Travel and more travel  usually at Connecticut taxpayers expense.
Why?
Possibly to see the country and world at taxpayers expense?
Possibly to gain political statue and prestige?
He claims it is for the benefit of the state.
A state which is last or near last in so many different economic categories.
These travels really do not seem to be improving Connecticut with its harsh Omnipotent One-Party Rule.
These travels really do not seem to be improving our job formation in the state.
These travels seem to be wasting taxpayers monies.
Over and over again.
Connecticut has a traveling Governor.
He travels to many places usually at Connecticut taxpayers expense.
He travels here.  He travels there.
Where will he travel next week?
And how much more economic harm and cost will Connecticut taxpayers have to be burdened with?
And when will he start governing?

More Problems For This Administration

On both a National and International levels there are many problems (many self created) for the Obama Administration.
We see today on a International scale the indecisiveness in Syria and the Middle East in general.  Does this Administration really think that limited and late military action will do anything to improve the nightmare going on in Syria?  How long does this Administration wait until they actually do anything?  And what will the action actually be?  What happened with the crisis in Egypt?  Which side is this Administration actually on? Does this Administration remember not taking sides in Iran?  What about the Arab Spring?  And how are we going to pay for this limited military action?  Do we have a foreign policy any more?
Another thought how about the continuing human rights atrocities still occurring in Cuba? Any thoughts on how to resolve them?
On a National level what is this Administration doing about the IRS scandal?  What is this Administration doing about the issues of spying and security leaks?  What is this Administration doing about the National Debt?
It has been a long five years with this Administration and will be a long road until 2016 when we mercifully vote for a new President.  The splendor of the Obama Administration and his Presidency has faded quickly and completely.  Its indecision and irrational policies have hurt our country and our world statue.  Maybe before eight years are up this Administration might actually be honest and lead.  But do not count on that happening.
I long for a new day and direction for America-before it is too late.

$51.7 Million=No Voice For Connecticut Taxpayers

I guess $51.7 million dollars does not go as far as it use to.  Because $51.7 million is what was spent in 2012 lobbying activity to influence our State Legislature according to a recent report issued by Office of State Ethics.   This is the same stale State Legislature that has brought us the highest taxes in the country, one of the worse places to retire and do business in, and one of the highest long term unfunded liabilities debt to deal with.  $51.7 million to lobby our elected officials here in Connecticut to get all that and more economic waste than ever before.
I guess that really is not a great deal of money.  I know taxpayers really have no say in our State Legislature. Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule usually just does what they want.  They can pass legislation that is not read.  They can circumvent the State Constitution.  They can break any rule of law with no repercussions. Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule is above all that and more.  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule is definitely ruled by influence and lobbying.  It is liberal elitism in its purest form.
Thus we really have no say in our state government.  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule has taken care of that with its influence buying.  I guess $51.7 million dollars does not go as far as it use to.  Except in Hartford with all of its corruption in full view of all to see.

Keno and No Sales Tax Week-Yawn

I am economically tired of Connecticut.  Now we have Keno, a new way to save Connecticut from itself. We have this week tax free week on all clothes and shoes.  But wait a minute clothes and shoes used to be tax exempt all of the time.  Until Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule decided to tax all clothes and shoes. And raise the sales tax.  And raise the secret Gross Earnings tax on gasoline. And raise the income tax.  And create new taxes on all sorts of things.  And still run a massive deficit each year.  And still be last in many, many different economic categories and one of the highest taxed states in the country.
Thus we see this week politicians praising the virtues of the scrap heap called tax free week, the other 51 weeks of the year Connecticut's elected officials make sure you are taxed to death.  Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Rule likes it that way.  It is the way and path to their corruption, glory and power.  It is their mantra.  And it continues to ruin Connecticut economically.
Maybe Connecticut can develop somehow a new Keno or scratch off lottery game in which the grand prize would be either a recall election on one of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Ruling elite or just a plain forced resignation of one of Hartford's Omnipotent One Party Ruling Representatives or Senators.  Maybe Connecticut would really hit it big and once again move forward economically.  Taxpayers would truly win and win big!  What a prize that would be!

Connecticut's Do Nothing Unfunded Pension Liabilities

No big deal.  Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford can just change around some more accounting rules and just like that it will be fine again.  Sort of like what they did with the state budget.  Sort of like it being unconstitutional.  But what does that matter to Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford?  They seem to be economic geniuses.  They tax and spend without any regards for the state's fiscal future.  They tax and spend to create their own comforts and given reelections.
Unfunded pension liabilities is a serious economic matter and one that still is ignored by Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford.  It is at a crisis state and really no solutions have been offered to this.  It is just one of many economic crisis that Democrats have helped to create in Hartford.  They must be proud to be ranked dead last out of 50 states in our country.
What is the solution?  All new state employees should be going into self funded pensions.  Benefits should be in line with private industry and business.  Economic reality needs to be explored by Omnipotent One Party Rule in Hartford.   The state is broke and can no longer afford this economic charade.

Obamacare Not Good Enough For Congress

Too bad.  I guess with the new unknown socialized health care plan it became too expensive for members of Congress and their staffs.  How would they be able to pay that yearly $5000 for single coverage and $11000 for family coverage that this law dictates?  The outrage of it all.  Now we know that you and I can afford whatever we need to pay to have our health coverage whether it is the monthly premiums, co-pays, deductibles.  We can, will and must pay these costs.
But why should Congress bother itself with that?  As a ruling class in our society they should be and are above any laws that they enact.  They rule the serfs with supreme power and iron rule.  The President by fiat and against his law of socialized medicine is giving all members this yearly $5000 for single coverage and $11000 for family coverage from you and I the taxpayers-they are now exempt from these costs.  More taxpayer monies now go to subsidize this economic debacle called Congress and their bloated staffs. Again they are now exempt from paying this money for their socialized health care.  And again I ask why?  More freebies for the ruling elite.  Congress is now held harmless from the health insurance nightmare they helped to create.
It is never too early to think about the Congressional midterm elections that are coming up in 2014.  And it is never too early to think about voting out of office this incompetent ruling elite which has and continues to cause excessive harm to both our economy and society.  Taxpayers should no longer be treated as serfs in our society.

Can Connecticut's Corrupted Government Ever Be Fixed?

I do not know-can Connecticut's corrupted state government ever be fixed?  We as taxpayers support this abusing system through taxpayer funded public finance laws.  Taxpayers monies go into this
Citizens Election Fund which allows for state taxpayers monies to pay for the campaigns of all state offices from Governor and all of its offices to State Senator and State Representative.  Why?  Especially after the Chris Donovan scandal with roll your own shops and its pending legislation?  Did politics in Hartford actually become cleaner since this law?
No in my opinion, Connecticut's politics has become even more corrupted through this system.  Intensive lobbying and buying of votes in Hartford seems to be commonplace.  Laws are now passed circumventing our state constitution as was seen in this last session.  There is also a law which makes failure to report a bribe a crime.  What part of this law was misunderstood in the Donovan scandal?  Why didn't the Attorney General investigate why Donovan did not report the bribes along the way to influence the pending law?  The scandal has been swept under the carpet-Donovan had to have known what was going on-his claim of ignorance was astounding.
And we still have corruption in the state.  And it will not be going away any time soon.  Only when state taxpayers start to say no to paying taxes to support this corrupted form of government will it change. 
The scandals will continue.  The state will continue its economic failures.  The state will continue to rank near first in taxes and near last in business and economic friendliness, growth and development.  Our best and brightest will continue to move away.  And our corrupted leaders and officials will continue to profit at the taxpayers expense.

Yes there is a rain tax.  Now in Maryland.  In a state where Democrats run the State House and Senate (sound familiar?).  A new “Storm Water Fee” has gone into effect in the state for anyone who owns land in Maryland.  You are taxed based on the amount of square footage that will constitute an impervious surface on the land you own.  You may be now wondering where this new rain tax monies will go?  On the surface it seems to be another Democrat feel good program to fund storm water remediation mandates that the  legislature passed awhile ago.  However in my economic opinion I can see all of this tax money being dumped into a general fund to increase spending in other areas.  And you will probably still have the same amount of storm water as you did before.  And you can view this as just another example of government trying to force an economic outcome with negative results.

Maybe there is a crisis in Maryland with regards to storm water?  Maybe there is a crisis in Maryland that not enough taxes are being collected?  The best part of this tax is how different it is from county to county-Baltimore city has the highest fees while Republican controlled Frederick County is only charging 1 cent per residential property.  Obviously the Republicans have been able to solve their storm water crisis while the City of Baltimore can not.

Here is just another example of what one party rule can do to economically damage an economy.  And could it be coming to a state near you?  Like Connecticut?

The Emperor's New Clothes-New York Politics Reinvented

The Emperor has new clothes.
I had to laugh to read that the former Governor of New York Eliot Spitzer wishes to petition to run for Comptroller of New York.  In case you did not hear Spitzer had to resign because of his dealings with prostitutes while Governor.  I guess he truly respects both his wife and women in general.
But hey what is the big deal?  I see more and more politicians who really have no ethics or morals.  Their egos being as large as they are really have no need or respect for rules or laws that we common citizens must follow.  This is why Anthony Weiner is running for Mayor of New York City.  To me he is another politician who has no ethics or morals and thus is confident of his omnipotent power.  But in both cases neither man has anything to offer to the positions they are running for other than satisfying their bloated egos.
Power corrupts more and more each day in our political system.  The disconnect between economic reality and our political system grows daily.
And we as citizens and taxpayers must continue to view the folly of these stale and corrupted politicians forcing themselves upon the voting public.  But then again I have enough corruption to deal with here in Connecticut-New York's neighbor.  Both Spitzer and Weiner are hypocrites in the purest political sense.

Connecticut=Poor Government + Excessive Taxes

Connecticut has poor government and poor governing. Connecticut has excessive taxes.  It has a government which knowingly breaks a constitutional law and gets away with it.  It raise taxes on its morbid economy and says it does not raise its taxes.  It lies to taxpayers.  It lies to the remaining business and industries in our economy.   It blames others for its own spending problems.  It takes away even more personal and economic freedoms on a daily basis.  It creates even more laws which make no sense to taxpayers. Government will break laws whenever they wish to.
Hartford's One Party Rule is the only ruling body in our state now.  Its liberalism continues to fail our economy on a daily basis.  Why does it continue to be unchecked?
July 1 our state economy has absorbed even more taxes which will transfer purchasing power from the economy to the command economy of Hartford.  And the net result is even more debt, more poverty and more problems for Connecticut.
Connecticut equals poor government and poor governing. Connecticut equals excessive taxes.   The Democrats in Hartford own the economy today.  We must blame them completely.

The Immigration Bill-Nobody Especially Taxpayers Need To Read It

Hats off to the United States Senate.
We really do not need to read the new Immigration Bill that will be voted on in the Senate.
Senators do not need to read the 1200+ page bill.
Taxpayers do not need to know how much it will cost.
Legal and law abiding citizens do not need to know how it will impact their personal freedoms.

Here are some of the actual amendments in the bill:
Youth Jobs Fund which will add $1,500,000,000 to this fund-what it will do besides cost taxpayers $1,500,000,000 is beyond me.
Under additional border patrol funds is the indefinite funding for the Corporation for Travel Promotion that apparently funds a Nevada tourism fund which obviously is Harry Reid's piece of pork in the bill.
A Summer Work Travel Program In Seafood Processing is also included which will somehow force the State Department to layoff temporary immigrants who work in Alaska's seafood processing plants.  That amendment should really help border security.
There are more which I can not research not find information on.  Just another dirty secret of "public" bills in our government.

Hats off to the United States Senate.  Their illiteracy is astounding.
I applaud Texas Senator Ted Cruz who is fighting against this bill, it is too bad we in Connecticut have no representation in the Senate.
Hats off to the United States Senate.
We really do not need to read the new Immigration Bill that will be voted on in the Senate.

Only in Connecticut can our State Legislators double dip being able to earn taxpayer's monies and then be influenced by his or her employer in voting favorably for legislation that helps that employer.
Only in Connecticut can the State Constitutional Cap on spending be disregarded and the law be broken by our elected officials.
Only in Connecticut can not a damn thing be done that helps taxpayer's in any way, shape, or form.

Connecticut- Famous For Economic Lasts

Connecticut and Hartford's One Party Rule should be proud of all of the categories that we rank last in and near the bottom of 50 states economically.  With the new budget which is an economic nightmare and unsustainable we should have a few more lasts in the near future.
Here is the record that Governor Malloy and Hartford's One Party Rule will run on in 2014:
One of the highest workers compensation costs in the country-Rank 49 out of 50 states
Worse state in the country to retire in.
$49,000 per citizen debt burden, one of the highest in the country
Ranks last in the country in credit quality.
Last state in the country to achieve Tax Freedom Day-May 5th.
Dan Malloy a "F" grade on Fiscal Policy from the Cato Institute.
Educational achievement gap in public education is the worse in the country.
Highest fuel taxes in the country beginning on July 1.
Third highest overall tax burden in the country.
One of the worse road and bridge infrastructures in the country.
Last in economic growth in the country with a falling gross domestic product for 2012.
Near last in job creation.
Massive population decline over the past 20 years.
$60-$80 billion dollars in unfunded liabilities.

Please remember this is the record that Governor Malloy and Hartford's One Party Rule will be running on in 2014.  This is the Democratic party's record for 2014.
Maybe just maybe it is time for a change.

My Connecticut Economic Dream

I dream a great deal.  I had a dream the other night which I knew was a dream only.
In my dream Connecticut was a robust and dynamic state once again.  In my dream I saw well kept neighborhoods with citizens prospering and working jobs of all sorts.  In my dream I saw students learning in the public education system, gaining skills and learning self sufficiency.  In my dream I saw the state income tax eliminated and state spending cut back dramatically.  In my dream I saw the state government eliminate laws that encroached on our personal freedoms.  In my dream I saw in my dream businesses flourishing and expanding creating jobs and income for all.  In my dream I saw a dynamic transportation system with well maintained roads and bridges.  In my dream I saw a renaissance of economic activity and personal freedom.

But then I woke up in a cold sweat-then I remembered.
I remembered how bad our state and government is.
I remembered the entitlement mentality of our state government.
I remembered how many personal freedoms we no longer have.
I remembered how bad our road and bridge structure is.
I remembered how businesses have and will move out of state.
I remembered how many jobs are permanently lost in our state.
I remembered how high taxes are in our state.

My Connecticut economic dream instead is a realistic economic nightmare.
A lack of personal freedoms.
Poor road and bridge infrastructure.
Excessively high taxes.
A poor business climate.
My Connecticut economic nightmare is real.

The Wasted Connecticut State Legislature-Or The End To Open Government That Taxpayers Support

Connecticut once again has wasted an entire legislative session.  However when one reads the glowing and self serving comments that Governor Malloy and Hartford's One Party Rule give themselves, one wonders where their fantasy comes from?
Does it come from the massive increase in taxes that we have endured since Governor Malloy has taken office?
Does it come from the massive defunding of governmental watchdog agencies so that laws can be broken at will with no consequences by Hartford's One Party Rule?
Does it come from bills being written in secret and against the standard laws of our state constitution?
Does it come from bills being passed with no public hearing on them?
Does it come from a false budget which can only create deficits in the long run?

There were no answers by this session-only more severe economic problems for the future.  What we have in Hartford's One Party Rule is a free-for-all of personal gain, personal promotion, unethical and illegal behavior which is supported by you and I the taxpayers of Connecticut.

The battle line has been drawn, Hartford's One Party Rule must end quickly.  We as taxpayers need to voice our displeasure at this mockery of government.  Better yet we as taxpayers must defund Hartford's One Party Rule today.

Connecticut's False Budget

Hartford's One Party Rule has just passed one of the most pathetic budgets in our states history.  Amid gimmicks, transfers off line of the budget, higher taxes, greater long run deficits-Hartford's One Party Rule calls this a budget.
In reality it is a lie to call this a budget in economic terms.  It is just more tax and spend gimmicks.  And I am shocked that three Democrat Senators actually would vote against what their party dictates for them to do and actually vote against the budget.  Too bad a fourth Democratic Senator did not have the same guts..
Here is the economic reality of this new budget.
First it still increases taxes.  The Secret Gross Earnings Tax on gasoline goes up July 1 by four cents a gallon to make Connecticut have the highest gas taxes in the country.  $300 million in taxes that were supposed to end on July 1 will continue.  Apparently Hartford's One Party Rule has new definitions as to what tax increases mean.
Second it still increases spending.  Spending is up once again by 4%.  It creates an automatic budget deficit for the coming fiscal years.  The unconstitutional move off budget of $6.4 billion dollars to a separate fund is illegal and wrong.  It is one of the most blatant lies that Hartford's One Party Rule has force fed taxpayers.  My economic question to Hartford's One Party Rule is simple-what happens if federal funding ends for this off budget account?  What do you do then?
Third the shell game continues as funds were raided, money being transferred from one account to another.  Why was this done?  It make no sense economically.
And finally since nothing has been done for the $80 billion dollars in long term unfunded liabilities the state owes, we will be in a long term fiscal free fall for future generations.  The state no longer has the taxing capabilities to get out of this long term fiscal obligation with continuing losses in jobs, employers, citizens and tax revenues.  It can not be maintained.
Hartford's One Party Rule has brought Connecticut's economy to its knees.  This budget has helped to seal the coffin that taxpayers must work in.

More Great Connecticut News! Illegals Get Driver Licenses! Thanks Once Again To One Party Rule In Hartford!

I have to hand it to One Party Rule in Hartford.  They abide by no laws, rules nor the State Constitution.
They just do whatever they want, whenever they want and however they want.
No ethics, lies all the time and fraud.
They no longer represent Connecticut in any way,shape or form.
Rammed down the throats of those who pay taxes, work and live in Connecticut legally is the new law passed at 5:48am this morning to give illegal immigrants drivers licenses on 1/1/15.
Democracy really functions well at this time of the morning.
And this is really the most important problem in Connecticut in 2013?
The hell with the deficits, excessive taxation and high unemployment.
The hell with Hartford's One Party Rule.
74 Democrats voted in favor of this insulting bill to allow these licenses.
What about the rights of those legal Connecticut citizens who pay taxes in our state?
We no longer exist according to Hartford's One Party Rule.

Thus we as taxpayers must stop funding this mockery of our elected government.

Political Lies And Scandals And Connecticut's Secret Gross Earnings Tax On Gasoline Is Going Up To 8.1% on July 1.

There are many.  Too numerous for just one column.  And Connecticut's Secret Gross Earnings Tax on gasoline is going up to 8.1% on July 1, increasing the cost of driving even more here in Corrupticut.

In Hartford, one wonders how anything is actually done on either side of the aisle with the current scandal on vote purchasing continuing to unwind.  Several convictions and our elected officials in unison know of nothing that happened during this time.  Amazing.  I really laughed at what Chris Donovan said yesterday-amazing as a former Head of the House of Representatives you knew nothing about what was going on.  Nor did Larry Cafero know anything that was going on either.
Logically one can assume that if one has enough money to donate to either party in Hartford one can influence their vote and your self interest will be fulfilled on a certain piece of legislation.  Sort of like taxpayers monies being used to pay for corrupted lobbyists in Hartford.  It truly is a culture of corruption, greed and fraud which is what our State Government has turned into.

In Washington, our Commander-In-Chief knows nothing going on in either his Administration, nor the Departments that run our Federal Government.  Wow.  Four Americans dead, left behind by their government, the stonewalling of the IRS and the theft of reporters emails and messages.  Wow.
Our President and his Administration know nothing at all.  Yet Mr. Obama enjoys his parties, vacations and fund raisers.  That is obviously more important than being a President and leading his country.  This is how a President leads his country?

The list seems endless of scandals, lies and thefts by our Federal and State Governments.
One last thought:  maybe we as taxpayers need to start to reject our funding of this culture of corruption in Hartford and Washington.  Accountability-no-lies-yes.  Welcome to our corrupt Government in 2013.

Power, Corruption-Washington and Hartford In Unison. Garbage For Government

Does power and politics corrupt? Is there any limit to the power of political corruption?  Is there any limits to the power of our State and Federal government?  Can they be limited?
More importantly why is our tax monies being used to supports this type of corruption?
The political corruption seems to never end in Connecticut.
Nor either in Washington.  The current scandals and cover ups in Washington are enormous.
You mean to tell me that our tax monies are being used to investigate those who have a different political view than the current administration and that information is being given to a news organization?
Our phone conversations I guess are no longer private either.
You do not see the misuse of the City of Hartford's credit cards which are paid for by Hartford taxpayers monies? 
You do not see the political payoffs and corruption of our State Legislature?  The Donovan debacle is no longer front page news in Connecticut-hushed up as usual. 
Why should the Republicans offer a budget?  It is automatically ridiculed by the Democrats-they own the state and the economic debacle we are in.

Garbage for government.  And our tax monies are being used to support the power and corruption.
It is time for a change and time to stop funding the power and corruption that is our government.

If Connecticut's Economy Is Broken Can We Do Something Different-No Just Keep Spending And Raising Taxes

Is Connecticut's economy broken?  In my economic opinion yes.  Is Hartford's One Party Rule doing anything about it?  No.  Thus let us just keep increasing state spending and raise taxes.  Done and over.
Until the next survey or poll comes out.  And the finger pointing and blame starts.

This new survey by "Chief Executive Magazine" ranks Connecticut as 45th out of 50 states in doing business. From their website http://chiefexecutive.net/connecticut-is-the-45th-best-state-for-business-2013  Here are a few quotes from CEO's who responded to the survey:

“Connecticut is a tax and spend, Democrat-controlled state with no debate. The state agencies do not coordinate their actions and there are several that could be combined as they each have a part in incentives or solutions. Governor Malloy is more visible than prior governors, but likes to pick winners and losers rather than establish an environment for all businesses as other states do.”
“Connecticut is the worst. Poor leadership.”

To me it is more of the same, more wasted state resources, more wasted productivity and labor.  Just really more of the same tax and spend policies which continue to fail our economy.   $12 billion dollars in increased state spending over the last twenty years with nothing to show for it other than excessive debt, excessive long term unfunded liabilities and an elitist centralized government in Hartford.
Why can't state spending be cut?  Why can't Commissioners be downsized and positions eliminated?  Why so many duplicate programs? Why can't taxes actually be cut to stimulate the state economy?
Connecticut's economy is broken and continues to be broken by the excessive demands of Hartford's One Party Rule.  
State spending needs to be cut now.  State government needs to be downsized and streamlined.  Political elitism and patronage needs to end on both sides of the political aisle.  Connecticut's economy needs to be the priority of our elected officials not a Utopian playground to use for personal and political gain at taxpayer's expense.

The Chronic Tax And Spend Issues Of Connecticut

Before I get into the chronic tax and spend issues of Connecticut, I really would like to know what our government is doing to free Kenneth Bae, a US Citizen who was captured and is being held prisoner by North Korea.  It is time to end all diplomatic channels with North Korea and take military force against this irrational and rogue country.  All prisoners in North Korea need to be freed once and for all.
Now back to the chronic economic issues of our state.
Another $500 million in projected tax revenue will not be coming in any time soon for the state.  I do not know why this is even being treated as news since we are in a massive economic recession in Connecticut due to horrific taxes and excessive state spending.  Connecticut has no economic plan other than tax and spend.
And an entire legislative session has been wasted on mythical gun control along giving illegal aliens anything they want.
Maintaining the current level of spending will only lead to another massive tax increase.  All this while our Governor travels and leads the good life at ultimately taxpayers expense.  I truly hope he has had a great time seeing the country and world rather than governing.
Connecticut has an economic paralysis.  Cronyism has replaced coherent economic thought and policies.  I do not understand why the media has not reported the true economic news in our state.
More businesses will be moving out of state (i.e. state gun manufacturers), more spending by state government and yet even more and higher state taxes are arriving.
It is truly the chronic tax and spend issues of Hartford's One Party Rule.

Do Not Worry Connecticut's Rulers Are Well Above Any Laws

It really never ends for taxpayers and their lack of representation in government.
Our biased media again gives a free ride to the Esty clan of Connecticut for their actions.
First we see that our Department of Environmental Protection Czar Dan Esty briefs USB Securities about pending legislation.  This briefing in my economic opinion is insider information which can be used to influence the purchase and or sale of a traded security to benefit the insider.  It apparently has been given its blessing by our government and media.  Obviously, Esty denies any wrong doing, he has made a public statement that he did nothing wrong.
However in my economic opinion his discussion of pending legislation can and will influence the purchase of stock and securities that are directly related to that legislation.  It is illegal.  However here in Connecticut our ruling elite are above any laws.
Dan's wife United States Representative Elizabeth Esty from the Fifth District decides to finally return campaign contributions that she received from Northeast Utilities executives and lobbyists.  She apparently only decides to do this after the National Republican Congressional Committee brings to light that she received this money from a company which is influenced by her husband's decisions as Department of Environmental Protection Czar.  Dan Esty was also a paid consultant for Northeast Utilities for eight years from 1997 to 2005.  Thus she finally gives the money back two years later.
Again we hear little about this nor is it really questioned by our government or media.
I guess this is how she truly represents those people in her district.

To me there are few laws that govern our elected and paid governmental officials here in Connecticut.  There is little done to prevent unethical behavior, crime and corruption using taxpayers monies.   It is the corruption of our government along with our forced taxed support of it which continues to be unanswered.  It is a crime and rape that taxpayers must endure here in Connecticut.

The Political Gain In Flight Delays Or How To Damage Our Economy More

Let us now punish those who fly.
Let us now have political gain by the Obama Administration.
The sequester cuts which have now taken hold by the Federal Aviation Administration are forcing air traffic controllers to be furloughed and thus creating an economically manufactured crisis of the greatest proportions for those who fly.
And how safe is our air flight now with even less air traffic controllers on duty?
Thus we must examine how much extra economic burden this is now creating in our economy.  The loss of time and money is now enormous for those who must travel for business purposes.  The loss of time and money for those carriers who carry freight and products is now enormous.
The economic blame should be placed directly on the FAA and Mr. Obama.
Yet we still see the President flying anywhere in the country he chooses.  Maybe that money could have been used to stop these furloughs.
Yet we still see no cuts to the additional $123 million dollars to Syria.  Maybe that money could have been used to stop these furloughs.
Yet we still see no cuts to the $750 million given to Mexico.   Maybe that money could have been used to stop these furloughs.
Yet we see no cuts to salaries and benefits or staffs to our Congressional Representatives and Senators.  Maybe that money could have been used to stop these furloughs.
In my economic opinion there were many other ways to save money in the FAA rather than punish those who fly.
My suggestion to resolving this issue is to bill three fold, the FAA, your elected US Representative and your elected US Senators for your time wasted and lost due to these excessive waits and delays for your flights.  That will create some economic realism for these economically illiterate paid and elected officials who supposedly represent us.

Let us now punish those who fly.
Let us now have political gain by the Obama Administration.
Let us now bill them for our lost productivity and time.

Why Negotiate With North Korea?

Why should the United States negotiate with North Korea?  What is the purpose to continue to allow this rogue, anti humanitarian country to continue to exist?  What is the point?
North Korea has brutal human rights violations.  North Korea has no economy except for its military.  It despises freedom and the free markets.  It prefers to starve its people rather than allow for food in its economy. Famine is the way of life in this country.  Its people are brutalized into submission by its government.
Why should the United States negotiate with North Korea?  What is the purpose?
North Korea is an axis of evil.  It serves no purpose other than to taunt the rest of the world with its illogical and irrational military mind games.  It offers nothing.  It is time for the rest of the world to stand up against the North Korean rhetoric and demand that its people be set free.  Strategically North Korea offers nothing for our world except a safe haven for a brutal and unyielding dictator who is given legitimacy by the some countries in the world.
We must take a strong stand against this country immediately.  There is no purpose in negotiating with North Korea.  It is time for this regime to go for the good of our world.  No negotiations, now or in the future.  Let its people become free.

Connecticut's Unfunded Liabilities Keep Growing And Growing

Connecticut's unfunded liabilities.  They keep growing and growing.  Have they been addressed by Mr. Malloy and Hartford's One Party Rule?
The answer is simple-no.  They keep growing and growing.
And growing and growing.  Connecticut has over $20 billion dollars in bond debt.  Money borrowed through bonds for projects and now for day-to-day operational expenses of the state.
It also has about another $46 to $60 billion dollars in unfunded liabilities.  These areas include state employee and teacher pensions, along with state employees post health and life care (retirement benefits).
Mr. Malloy and Hartford's One Party Rule answer to all this is to increase spending by another 10%, increase taxes and look the other way at this massive long term economic crisis that is facing our state.
Mr. Malloy and Hartford's One Party Rule are delusion when it comes to our economic issues facing Connecticut.  With the new costly gun law we will see the remaining gun industry leave the state, thus losing even more jobs and more tax revenues, not to the mention the actual costs of around $25 to $35 million to enact the new law, which in my economic opinion only allows guns to be owned by the police and criminals who will continue to get their guns illegally.
The most simplistic solution is to cut spending in Hartford quickly and efficiently.  There is no longer any need  to have a state our size spend $20 plus billion dollars a year and have the economic blight and poor conditions that we have here.  There is no more need for layers upon layers of upper level management in non producing, non productive, show only state jobs burdening taxpayers with excessive salaries and pensions.
Mr. Malloy and Hartford's One Party Rule are lost economically and need to be voted out of office in 2014.
We can not sustain this path to economic ruin any more.

For Your Information-Here Was The Vote-And By The Way Where Is The $17 Million Plus To Implement It?

Here is the vote from last night's gun law vote here in Connecticut-by the way the first estimates in is that it will cost $17 million plus to implement this new law.  And for your information taxpayers in Connecticut work the longest to pay for their taxes in the country.  Our Tax Freedom Day is May 13th.  Also for your information 10 Senators and 44 Representatives were brave enough to vote against this "bi-partisan" bill.  And was anything written in the bill by the state to guarantee that we will as tax paying citizens would be protected by someone who pulls an illegal gun on us?
We really need to start voting with our feet.
