Thursday's Thoughts

Several thoughts and questions for Thursday.
As far as fiscal cliff talks are concerned why isn't the focus on spending cuts, improving efficiency in government and the end to duplicate agencies/programs which do little to improve the economy or help people?
As far as state budget talks are concerned why isn't the focus on spending cuts, improving efficiency in government and the end to duplicate agencies/programs which do little to improve the economy or help people?
How do higher taxes improve an economy?  How do higher taxes increase private sector spending?
How are jobs created in the private sector if there are no plans to explain governmental regulations and laws such as Obamacare until after they go into effect?  And who pays for them?  Any why?
What is the plan to pay off the $16 trillion dollar National Debt?
What is the plan to pay for the approximately $80 trillion dollars in federal unfunded liabilities?

What is the plan to pay for the approximately $40 billion dollars in Connecticut's unfunded liabilities?
Why has the cost of a college education skyrocketed in the past twenty years?  My salaries teaching part time on a college level adjusted for inflation are less than what I was making when I started in 1982.

If I lose my right to protect myself and my family through either legal weapons or other forms of protection, how do I defend myself from an armed attack?
Just some random thoughts for today.

Connecticut+Wasted Spending=A Fiscal Nightmare

What no wasted spending in a $20 billion dollar budget?  What is a $415 million dollar deficit?  No nothing a little soda tax wouldn't do to create even more economic problems in the state.
I am still amazed that Connecticut does not waste any money in any way shape or form according to our leaders.  I am also amazed that the only place to cut spending is in social welfare and education programs, two programs that we were told when we had the highest tax increase in our state's history would be saved and that needed to be saved.  What a political lie.
What about the $115 million dollars of taxpayers monies that is being used for corporate welfare at its best to pay for a hedge fund to move from Westport to Stamford?  Why is this money being spent especially since the CEO of this fund made a mere $3.9 billion dollars last year?  Could it be political payback for the city that Malloy was Mayor in?  What a waste of taxpayers monies!
What happened to the supposed $180 million dollars in supposed savings from the State Employee Suggestion Box?  Apparently no suggestions were made.
Why are we paying $340,000 plus benefits for a head of the Community College System?  What is his role and job if any?  Aren't the individual Community Colleges run already by Presidents who make a great deal of money in the first place?
The list of waste of taxpayers monies is endless in Connecticut.  And realistically there is no end in sight.
A state that is anti business, one of the highest tax rates in the country, excessive transportation costs and excessive workers compensation costs all lead to a road to economic ruin.   Connecticut plus wasted spending does equal the ongoing fiscal nightmare of one party rule.

Inflation. It Is Coming.



What is Inflation? According to Investopedia http://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/inflation it is "The rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is rising, and, subsequently, purchasing power is falling. Central banks attempt to stop severe inflation, along with severe deflation, in an attempt to keep the excessive growth of prices to a minimum." 

Inflation in my economic opinion is coming.  Inflation in my economic opinion is here already.  The massive fluctuations in energy prices, food prices, greater and higher taxes along with massive increases in health care costs are already contributing to inflation.  Our government dislikes inflation since it increases its borrowing costs to finance its massive National Debt.  If you are a saver right now you are not getting any interest on your savings.  You as a saver are subsidizing our governments excessive spending and National Debt.  The Federal Reserve's constant free money policy will ultimately lead to a valueless dollar along with inflation.

Thus as higher taxes are being desired by Democrats in Washington, higher inflation will be a direct result.  And we will not see any meaningful cuts in spending or entitlements for the future.  The National Debt will keep increasing.   The fiscal cliff will be achieved along with inflation.  Good luck with dealing with this new economic debacle on the near horizon.

Higher Taxes=Higher Spending.

It is a simple economic concept that has been proven time and time again.  Higher taxes will equal higher spending.  As the supposed fiscal cliff comes and goes, higher federal taxes will do little.  They will do little in addressing the growing $16.5 trillion dollar National Debt.  They will do little in balancing the federal budget (which now has so much off budget/off line item it can not even be counted).  And they will do little in actually increasing tax revenue.  In other words, Keynesian economic theory has failed in the past and will fail for the future.
What really is needed out of Washington from both parties is a plan to cut federal spending to the bare minimum not supposed cuts to occur over a ten year period nor an Administration and Senate that does not believe in either developing and or passing an actual budget.  There is in my economic opinion a great deal of massive waste in spending on economically irrational programs and fraud which takes place in our Federal government which has help to bring our National Debt to unsustainable levels.
Stop campaigning and start to cut spending.  The four past years have proven that the economic policies coming out of Washington have done little to stimulate the economy nor address the National Debt.  Higher taxes will do little in 2013.

Connecticut Now Must Borrow To Survive? Like Greece?

Oops.  Connecticut now needs to borrow to operate.  We are the Greece of America, along other poorly run states like Illinois, California and New York.
Connecticut needs to borrow a mere $550 million to survive and pay bills.  Sort of like Greece.  With the second highest tax rates in the country.
I thought higher taxes were the answer to all of the Democrats problems at every level of government?

Never mind the highest tax increase in the state's history.
Never mind a $1.2 billion budget deficit in the coming fiscal year.
Never mind the amount corporate welfare being given in 2012.
Never mind the one party rule in Hartford which has caused this economic debacle.
Never mind the current administration can't even agree upon the amount of the actual shortfall or deficit depending on which rose colored glasses you are looking through.

Thus Connecticut continues to be broke.  And the media believes that the Republicans need to either offer their solutions and or work with the Governor to resolve it.  Why?  One party rule and the absolute lack of respect the Malloy administration afforded the Republicans in prior budget negotiations during the largest tax increase in our state's history now comes back to bite them.  It is a one party rule Democrat problem now.  Unfortunately the one party rule can not solve it due to their economic illiteracy.  Oops.

Connecticut's Shortfall (Not A Deficit) Just Pick A Number And Spend More

A shortfall.  No a budget deficit.  No $60 million. No $365 million.  No more like $415 million.  Pick a number, any number and welcome to our state's fiscal incompetency financed by the remaining taxpayers here in Connecticut.
The Governor could just continue to make up numbers and supposed cuts and the budget shortfall would just go away.  By going away the Governor could continue to campaign for reelection and or a new Cabinet post in Washington.  Why worry about the fiscal crisis?  After all he inherited it from a Democratic Legislature!  Oh the irony of fiscal incompetency.
Thus we as taxpayers have no idea what the actual budget deficit is, no idea as to how much higher taxes are going to go, no idea how many more businesses will leave the state and most importantly no idea as to what plan there ever is to address the fiscal crisis.
A shortfall.  No a budget deficit.  No $60 million. No $365 million.  No more like $415 million.  Pick a number, any number and accept the fiscal illiteracy that is Hartford and our state's one party rule government.

Back To The Economic Nightmare After 30 Days

30 Days is a long time.  I decided to take a break from Swick Speak to rest and recover from the election.  Those who actually voted decided they wanted four more years at a national level of an economic recession, higher National Debt and higher taxes.  Those who actually voted in Connecticut again embraced one party rule in Hartford, greater state short term and long term debt and much higher taxes in the future.
Thus in the future I will be voting with my feet and moving to a lower taxed state as I see little if any economic future in Connecticut due to this gross mismanagement of tax monies on a daily basis.

On a national level, the media is spinning its wheels about the Republicans not compromising with regards to the impending fiscal cliff coming on January 1, 2013 when much higher tax rates go into effect.  I would like to remind my Democratic friends and the media, that the Democrats own the stagnant, recessionary economy in 2012.  A proposal that calls for higher taxes and increased spending that is being embraced by the administration will do nothing other than prolong the recession making it an eight years recession (which I can see happening clearly).
If I was a Republican in Congress, I would make our proposal and if it was not accepted then let the fiscal cliff come.  And then I would blame completely the Democrats in the House and Senate (they control the Senate and have not passed a budget in almost three years now) and blame the Obama Administration.  Again they own the economy.
Yes the higher taxes will hurt and that is apparently what our current administration wants-they to hurt those who are productive in our economy and who work and pay taxes in our economy.
2013=Fiscal Cliff.
2013=Again a much higher National Debt
2013=The Democrats Own The Economy.

We have had enough words without actions by the Democratic party in both Washington and Hartford.

Keep Len Fasano State Senator in the 34 Senatorial District


Reelect State Senator Len Fasano in the 34th Senatorial District which covers now Durham,  East Haven, North Haven and Wallingford.

As State Senator, Mr. Fasano has done an excellent job representing our community.  He is an advocate of lower taxes, less governmental interference in business and industry, and economic growth and prosperity for our state something sorely lacking with our current one party rule in Hartford.  His opponent an out-of-touch liberal Democrat who failed as a State Representative offers little if any plan than more and higher taxes and out-of-control state spending.  We as taxpayers deserve better.

State Representative Greg Bachand For Wallingford's 85th District

Why does Wallingford continue to elect Mary Mushinsky for State Representative?  32 years of runaway spending and higher taxes.  Why do have to have this economic nightmare continue to serve in office?  Why must Connecticut be at the bottom of the economic spectrum due to career politicians like Ms. Mushinsky?
Connecticut is an economic nightmare due to career politicians like Mushinsky.  We can not sustain the excessive levels of taxes or spending that we have in our state.

It’s Time For More
More Tax Cuts
Cuts in the Income Tax, Estate Tax, Sales Tax. Cuts in DMV fees, Court fees, Agency fees. You name it, cut it because the more we send to Hartford the more they will spend….and spend and spend.
More Bureaucracy Cuts
Ever see a big orange truck protecting another big orange truck which is protecting another big orange truck protecting a lawn mower?  It’s time for one big orange truck protecting one mower.  And that example extends to every nook and cranny of the State bureaucracy.
More Budget Cuts
Never have so few spent so much and accomplished so little.  Cut the budget and watch the State’s economy blossom.
We are strangling our small businesses with red tape and approval processes that make it impossible to thrive.  Let’s tell the regulators: “you can keep half of your regulations, which are the most important?”
Lower taxes, reduce the bureaucracy, cut regulations and get out of the way.  Boom, private jobs will explode.
The truth is, the bigger government gets, the less freedom we have.  Time for smaller government.

Chris Murphy Represents Chris Murphy Not Connecticut-Vote Linda

Gee Chris what is the difference with a union giving money to your campaign or a corporation?  The ultimate cost is paid for by either the union worker or by the consumer buying the product or service from the corporation.  Sort of like the donations you received from Webster Bank.  Sort of like when you forgot to pay your mortgage or your taxes.
Chris Murphy represents Chris Murphy not Connecticut and definitely not those people who actually work in our state.  Chris Murphy has never created one job in his long political career. To me I really can not see that he ever worked one day in his life at a productive job.  So how does he understand the over worked and over taxed middle class of Connecticut?  It is impossible.
Last night's debate once again highlighted how poor of a US Representative Murphy is with his unrealistic views of our economy and nonsensical approaches to programs and laws.  He has been a Democrat overseer of the last four year economic debacle his party has help to produce.  He offers nothing new but the same stale rhetoric and same stale ideas.  More taxes, more spending more for Chris Murphy.
The choice for Connecticut's Senator is clear-Linda McMahon, an individual who has the strength to lead and be a Senator for the taxpayers of Connecticut.  Vote Linda.

The Ineptness of Democratic Candidates When Debating

I think most voters who watched last nights debates between McMahon and Murphy and Ryan and Biden saw the Democrats as who they really are.
I am lost after watching these debates as to why anyone would want to vote for either Chris Murphy for Connecticut Senator or the Obama and Biden team.  Especially realizing that Mr. Biden would become the President if anything happened to Mr. Obama.
I hear that Joe was Joe last night, if that is the case he is not fit to hold public office let alone be the Vice President.  However it is good to see that voters are starting to see what our current Administration is all about-political and economic ineptness, lies and spins on security issues, stimulus packages to Sesame Street, the list is endless.  It is truly amateurs in office in this taxpayer's eyes.
On a state level the misguided Murphy Senate campaign continues to stumble.  As a taxpayer I really would like an actual answer to all of Mr. Murphy's issues with his mortgages and taxes.  After all we have to pay our taxes on time but I guess I must remember that Murphy and his fellow Democrats are exempt from the tax laws that we have in our state.  What is his actual job program that he talks about?  How did he create any jobs?  Why can't he pass a federal budget which address the National Debt?  Why is a strong defense bad for our country?  In my economic opinion he is also unfit to serve our state and taxpayers.
The choices are clear and should be to anyone who still has not made up their minds to vote.
For United States Senator in Connecticut Linda McMahon.
For President Mitt Romney and Vice President Paul Ryan.
The ineptness on the part of these Democratic candidates when debating is frightening.

Why Won't Rosa Debate? Wayne Winsley for Congress

Why won't Rosa DeLauro debate her opponent Republican Wayne Winsley?  I guess it is beneath her to explain her robust liberalism/socialism policies to the taxpayers she supposedly represents.  Her liberalism and socialistic policies astound me as a taxpayer.  During the health care debate her only concern was to force Obamacare down our throats because of all of the people who did not have health insurance in our country.  And guess what they still do not have health insurance and our premiums are sky rocketing.
What about a plan to pay down the National Debt?  Or how about some sound economic policies which promote economic freedom not socialism?  Or what about the issues with the Notch Year Social Security recipients?
The list is endless and DeLauro has been in office way too long.
But she will not debate Republican Wayne Winsley.  Sort of like in a socialistic society-one party rule-a dictatorship-it serves her well.
I continue to be astounded as to why voters continue to vote her into office here in Connecticut's Third Congressional District.  She continues to do nothing for us except promote her brand of socialism.
Republican Wayne Winsley provides a great alternative-he believes in lower taxes, he believes in a free market economic system, he believes in a strong family base, he believes in eliminating burdensome regulations, he believes in a strong national defense and he believes in actual energy independence.
He will actually represent the taxpayers of our district and show real leadership for Congress.
You do have a choice if you live in Connecticut's Third Congressional District, you can vote for Republican Wayne Winsley for Congress and facilitate a badly needed change for the good of our district.

What Debate? President Romney Takes Charge.

What debate?
That was a debate between Presidential candidates?
Has Mr. Obama actually been President for the past four years with high energy price inflation, non existent interest rates for savers, a $6 trillion dollar increase in the National Debt and a socialized health care plan which does little to help our countries health?  That is the record he is running on and last night proved how unprepared he is to be President and continue another four years of his economic debacle that he has nurtured as President.  What a wasted four years for our economy and nation.
Mr. Romney proved once again why he is the choice for President in November.  He proved his ability to see our nation's future, to solve our nation's problems, to develop an economic plan for economic growth in our economy and showed true leadership qualities sorely lacking in Mr. Obama.
The choice is even more clear after last night's debate.
President Romney and Vice President Ryan, true leadership for America after the four year economic nightmare we have endured.

The Ethics Complaint That Wasn't And No More Credibility Seen

Tuesday night in Wallingford saw the Ethics complaint that wasn't as the Wallingford resident after much rhetoric withdrew his complaint about Councilmen John LeTourneau and Tom Laffin and their supposed conflict of interest they had with Holy Trinity School and the council's actions with regards to a proposed wall repair at the school on Center Street.

Mr. Letourneau's  supposed crime was that his grandchildren were enrolled at the school.  Mr. Laffin's supposed crime was that his son attends Catholic education classes once a week at the school.  I truly hope they entertain legal action against these unfounded charges which they were forced to respond to.

I view this whole situation as a complete and utter waste of time and taxpayers monies.   Why this even reached this stage is beyond me.  And we as taxpayers should start questioning the actual political motives of these constant accusations which are brought up all the time by these "supposed" watchdogs of our town.  And we as taxpayers should start adding up how much these actions are costing us as taxpayers for the political advancement and well being of these watchdogs.

Fix the damn wall at the school and pave the damn Simpson Court parking lot.
Actions actually do speak louder than words in most cases.

No More Taxes Or Mortgages Thanks To Chris Murphy!  I guess if Chris Murphy got elected as Senator we the taxpayers of Connecticut would no longer have to pay any more taxes or worry about paying our mortgages!  Wait a minute-you mean only Chris Murphy or other like Democrats in Connecticut are allowed to do this?  Why is that?  Oh because rules and laws do not seem to apply to Chris Murphy and other like Connecticut Democrats?  You mean sort of like the issues Chris Donovan faced possibly selling influence in bills and laws we the taxpayers of Connecticut have to abide by.  You mean these same laws and rules are not applicable to the Murphys and Donovans of the ruling elite-Connecticut Democrats?
I am really confused now.  
We still get to pay one of the highest state tax burdens in the country even though Chris Murphy does not to follow or possibly ignores the laws we as the taxpayers of Connecticut must follow.
Two tier system-have versus have nots.  Taxpayers versus the Connecticut Democrat Ruling Elite.
I guess we see who will win.
I am voting for Linda McMahon for United States Senator.  Not Chris Murphy and his lies.

Economic Debacle Versus Economic Renaissance?


That is the choice in the upcoming Presidential election.  Voters have a choice between another four years of an economic debacle or taking a new course with an economic renaissance taking place.  Do you really want to continue four more years of economic lies, economic uncertainty and economic malaise?  
Four more years of an Obama administration will bring more of the same.  More economic debacles.  More economic uncertainty.  More and higher taxes.  More socialized medicine.  Are you better off than you were in 2009?  Will you actually be better off in 2012 with an Obama rather than a Romney administration?
And what about you the business owner?  Do you want more regulations which will continue to strip your economic viability and profitability?  Do you want government to continue to tell you what you can and can not do in your own business?  The same business you created yourself not with any help from the government.
We can have an economic renaissance in our economy.  We can not have it with four more years of failed Obama economic policies, rules and laws.  We can not afford it any more.
Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan can provide for that economic renaissance.  It can only happen with your vote for them in November.

A 50%+ Increase In The National Debt? And You Want Him Reelected?

What is a few trillion dollars when it is not yours and you are not counting?  What is a $16 trillion dollar National Debt anyways?  What is another round of printing valueless fiat money?  What promises at what costs are needed to be so desperately reelected so that more economic debacles can occur and more National Debt can be dumped upon future generations of our country?  And what price must we continue to have this false and failed supposed leadership of the Obama Administration-why can not it mercifully end in January?
A 50% plus increase in the National Debt continues to break the economic back of our economy to the point of no return.  What is the Obama Administration's plan to eliminate the Debt?  Are there any economic plans other than the complete socialization of our economy?  Why is wealth bad and yet Democrats embrace taking away as much as they can of it to buy votes?
It is a sickening economic way to run our economy and country.  And we as a government and economy can not sustain a $16 trillion National Debt which is owned by the Obama Administration.
We need a change economically-only Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan can facilitate that change in November.

According To Our Governor We Are Better Off in 2012 Under Obama?

I am confused.  Our Governor Malloy who apparently spends little time here in Connecticut Governing (actually micromanaging is a better term) is stating that we are better off under Mr. Obama than four years ago from the Democratic National Convention.  I am curious if he still gets his salary while campaigning down there?
From a purely economics point of view I am astounded that our self appointed Governor-For-Life has made that statement.
Doesn't Mr. Malloy understand that the unemployment rate has yet to go down in the past four years?
Doesn't Mr. Malloy understand that many have given up trying to find work after being unemployed in the past four years?
Doesn't Mr. Malloy understand that the sub prime mortgage debacle has not been cleaned up in the past four years?
Doesn't Mr. Malloy understand that savers receive little if any interest on their savings in the past four years?
Doesn't Mr. Malloy understand that socialized health care has done little for our economy in the past four years?
Doesn't Mr. Malloy understand that Six Trillion Dollars in new National Debt has done little to stimulate our economy in the past four years?
The economic debacle list is endless under the Obama Administration.
Sorry Governor we are far from being better off than we were four years ago.  We are in a constant crisis of leadership and a constant economic crisis for four long years now.  You have done a great deal to contribute to it locally with the highest tax increase in our state's history and still running deficits.
I am still confused, thus I will be voting in November for real leaders Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for President and Vice President.

Connecticut's Senate Race-Why I Am Voting For Linda McMahon

I am still trying to figure out what Chris Murphy is offering the taxpayers of Connecticut.  As a Representative in Congress besides missing many meetings and the like he has done little if anything for our state and nation's economy.  He has no experience in running a business and little if any experience in his life other than being a paid, professional politician.  He really has no clue of work and productivity as it seems to me that everything has been handed to him in his lifetime.
How he can represent the taxpayers of our state is beyond me?  He has no plans and or future visions of anything-he is truly a politicians politician, offering nothing to those who are productive in our economy.  He loves our welfare state and its never ending dependencies upon our failed government in Washington.  He loves the splendor of the economic debacle he currently resides over as a member of Congress.  And he loves the continual erosion of our personal freedoms which continue to be advanced by Mr. Obama.
He is a poor candidate as a Senator.
Linda McMahon is the breath of fresh air those who work for a living desperately needs as our new Connecticut Senator.  We see in Senator Blumenthal, another paid professional politician who slams business and industry yet is the seventh wealthiest member of the Senate.  We see he has done nothing to pass a budget which is mandated by the Constitution-funny for a person who slammed laws down many taxpayers and businesses as Attorney General.  He has done nothing for the taxpayers of Connecticut.  We do not need another do nothing Senator Chris Murphy to waste our taxpayers monies.  Enough is enough.
Linda McMahon is a dynamic woman who will be an excellent Senator for our State.  She is caring and has massive business experience.  She is a winner and has the ability to lead something sorely lacking in Mr. Blumenthal and Mr. Murphy.
Senator Linda McMahon, she has my vote in November.  I hope you vote for her too.

I Am Out Of My Mind According To Governor Malloy And Am Glad That I Am!

According to my Governor I am out of my mind.
I found this while Mr. Malloy was out of state campaigning for Mr. Obama:

Malloy said Obama has done a fantastic job, in his opinion.
"Anyone who votes for the Romney-Ryan team is out of their mind," he added.

Thus I am out of my mind along with a majority of voters this coming November due to our voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan as our new President of the United States.
I will counter that one must be out of their minds to vote for Mr. Obama for four more years after the economic debacle he has created in our economy since 2009-he owns the economy now with its excessively high unemployment, lack of transparency, runaway budget deficits, and six trillion dollars in new National Debt.  It is his issue no one elses.
Thus I am out of my mind along with a majority of voters this coming November due to our voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan as our new President of the United States.
I am glad that I am out of my mind and wish my Governor would actually stay in his state and govern for a change-but Mr. Malloy now owns the economic debacle that is Connecticut-stagnant growth, poor job formation, excessive taxation, massive budget deficits and massive unfunded liabilities.
Thus I am out of my mind along with a majority of voters this coming November due to our voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan as our new President of the United States.

Why I Support Linda McMahon For United States Senator on Tuesday

On Tuesday August 14 I am voting in the Republican primary for a change in government.  I am voting for a change in the stale policies and politics of years gone by.  I am voting for a change in economic plans and ideas.  I am voting for a person who can place policies above politics.  I am voting for a person who is self made and actually has been a job creator.  I am voting for a person who understands business and industry.  I am voting for a person who truly will represent me and understand the severe economic climate and times that we live in.
My vote goes to Linda McMahon for our next United States Senator.  She is an articulate and economically  literate woman who has the ability to see the issues as they are.  We live in troubling times economically.  We live in times of mistrust of elected officials who say one thing to get elected and then do another in office.
Linda McMahon understands the duties she will be handed as our next United States Senator from Connecticut.  I can envision her working well with a Republican Senate and President Romney.  I can see her upholding her Constitutional duty of passing a budget something that Harry Reid and Dick Blumenthal do not understand nor care about.
I can see once again the American Dream of economic prosperity starting to reemerge from the cancer of the many years of political thievery and neglect from a Senate whose only concern is their own self interest. We will start to rid ourselves of the Democratic Senate elitism which has failed our economy miserably with misguided and economically irrational policies.
Our stale liberal Connecticut media can bash Linda McMahon all they want and support the lethargic recycled other RINO candidate-she will not yield as she will truly represent our state with ethics, dignity and rational economic thought.
I urge those voting Tuesday to Vote for Linda McMahon for our next United States Senator from Connecticut.

When Is The Sherwood Island Mitt Romney Fundraiser?


Mr. Malloy, I am curious as to when the Mitt Romney fundraiser will be at Sherwood Island and the use of Connecticut taxpayers monies to help pay for it?

What do you mean that a candidate can not use it for fundraising?  Oh because he is a Republican candidate that is why.  I understand now, it is ok to use my taxpayer money to help Mr. Obama raise money.  I really do not know what I was thinking; by the way I am curious as to how much did it actually cost Connecticut taxpayers last night for the events?  Oh I understand again I am not supposed to know and the liberal media can not tell me.  Silly me!

Mr. Obama talks about the poor and tax breaks for the rich while he attends a Connecticut fund raiser at $38,500 per person using apparently taxpayer’s monies to help him through his travels.  
I am curious how people who are unemployed feel about the President accepting that kind of money and then talking from the other side of his mouth about shared sacrifice.  That should make you feel good-especially coming from a President who has spent the past four years running for re election on a platform of no accomplishments and rampant deficit spending.  Maybe Mr. Obama should have tried to actually lead and govern for the past four years rather play the stale and tired blame game that he and his Democratic party has mastered.

Do you like the hope and change we have had for the past four years?  I haven’t especially when now my tax money has to go to help pay for his fund raiser.  What an abuse of power and waste of taxpayer’s monies.

100 Days? 4 Years? President Mitt Romney

Where has the time gone?  Just a few years ago there a great deal of hope, change and rhetoric ushering in our new President.  We did not know much about Mr. Obama, his school records were sealed, his birthplace a mystery, his work background sketchy.  Thus he became President by a small margin of victory.
And looking at his Administration we could see very quickly many deficiencies and issues.  The Secretary of Treasury  forgot to pay his taxes, he became confused on his role in Libor.  The Secretary of State supported/not support certain governments/regimes causing confusion.  Economic stimulus programs came and went causing the National Debt to balloon by $6 trillion dollars in less than four years.  The list to me seems endless of the failures of this Administration from both an economic and social standpoint.
Are you better off than you were in 2008?  Not in my economic opinion.
We really do not need another four years of learning on the job with a socialistic twist and effort to it.  We need leadership, we need economic growth, we need stability in our economy, and we need truth in our government.
We need Mitt Romney as our President.  A vote for Romney is truly a vote for change   And we need to change our President as soon as possible.

Wednesday's Ramblings-Just More Of The Same Economic Illiteracy

It is a hot summer here in one party rule Connecticutax.  The latest sides being taken by the Governor and the Attorney General in the Nursing Home strike is economically irrational.  Since when should our elected officials be involved in this type of situation?  To buy union votes?  Or for what other reasons?

By the way how is that growing budget deficit doing here in our one party rule state?

Representative Mary Mushinskys recent taxpayer paid for reelection brochure came in the mail the other day.  I was wondering if she was serious about what she wrote about in it.  It was very funny to see no mention of all of the higher and new taxes which were shoved down her 85th District taxpayers throats over the past two years-hey what about all of those tax increases she has consistently voted upon since she has been elected to office?  We will not mention those now would we?  We instead will talk about all of the business friendly incentives she and her one party ruled passed this past session-just after this massive tax increases and anti business laws that were passed last year.  Confusing?  It is meant to be that way when one party rule is economically illiterate.  It is rhetoric and over taxation at its best.  Please vote for someone new in November-Greg Bachand for the 85th State Representative District.

By the way how is that growing budget deficit doing here in our one party rule state?

Oh and I almost forgot, I still believe in hard work, in private education, in capitalism, in success and freedom from a tyrannical government.  Just the opposite of what I can not believe I heard come from the President of the United States. Please vote for someone new in November-Mitt Romney for President.

Connecticut's Continuing Economic Woes

And there continue to be many.  Many, many economic woes.  The latest is that our state ranks a mere 44 out of 50 states in the cost of doing business.  Business owners continue to fight on a daily basis excessive state regulations, excessive state and local taxes, a problematic unemployment compensation unlimited giving system, high workers compensation costs and a poor transportation infrastructure.  Why would you want to operate a business in Connecticut?  Couple that with a cost of living that ranks 48 out of 50 states next to only Alaska and Hawaii!  Unbelievable.
And the Murphys, Donovans, and Mushinskys of Connecticut's one party rule are running for elected office once again on their records.  Their records of high taxes, excessive spending, political nepotism and economic illiteracy.  That is some great record to run on.
Connecticut's continuing economic woes will not end until we see new people in office who know how to lead and do what is ethically right and economically right.  Enough is enough to this waste of government and business in our state.

When Did A Politician Ever Not Like A Tax? Now We Tax Healthcare


So now we tax healthcare.  Or Obamacare is not a tax?  Or now it is?  What else can we tax in our economy?  The air we breath for one thing.
In pure economic terms our economy can not support the tax increases which are coming in 2013 plus an addition $75 to $100 billion a year in new health care taxes during the middle of a continual economic recession. Our economy will basically collapse with a staggering $15 trillion plus national debt and $1 trillion plus a year in new taxes. I also will remind any elected official at any level of government that they can sign up for any of my Macroeconomics and Microeconomics classes that I teach to learn about our economy that they are hell bent upon destroying with their economic illiteracy of how our economy works.  It is economic illiteracy at the highest level and signals in my economic opinion our Second American Revolution starting by an abused tax paying public who are sick of being incessantly raped by their elected officials for their own political gain.

Connecticut's Dirty Unemployment Fund Secret

It is a secret.  Please do not tell anyone or actually read this in our media.  One party rule in Hartford definitely does not want this to be heard.  Connecticut's Unemployment Trust Fund is a mere $630 million in the hole.  They became insolvent back in 10/13/2009.  The $630 million is the amount they owe in the loan they were forced to take from the United States Department of Labor.  But here is the best part of the secret, to help pay for the interest on this loan all who pay unemployment taxes in our state get to pay an additional tax of $25.50 per full time employee this August!  50 full time employees equals $1275 in taxes to the state on top of all of the other state unemployment taxes a company pays here.  But I know we will not see this or question this in August.
The secrets of one party rule continue to defy any type of economic logic.  Where are the companies of our state going to find the money for this tax?  And what is really being done to help create new jobs in a state that has $70 billion dollars in unfunded liabilities, one of the highest tax rates already in the country and really a sickening and abysmal economic record for decades now?
Thus it is more of the same by one party rule.  Keep giving tax monies to those who have business political connections, give away all you can to remain in one party power and most of all continue the incessant rape of the Connecticut taxpayer at all levels.  What a waste of a state economy.

I Do Not Know Anything. Or Just Vote Me As Your Congressional Representative.

I do not know anything.  I do not know anything going on in my campaign.  I do not have any influence over legislation as Speaker of the House especially when a bill is in the Senate.  I do not know where the contributions come in from.  I do not know that the FBI was at my nominating convention.  I do not know that lobbyists have influence over legislation that I help to sponsor.  I do not know anything about anything going on in my campaign.  I do not know that I was supposed to be involved in my campaign so as to know that nothing illegal was going on. 
Why won't anyone believe me that I do not know anything.  And why won't the voters vote me in as their Fifth Congressional District Representative now, right now and forget about all these contributions? 

I truly hope voters will not vote into office a man who does not know anything as their new Representative.  And we do not call it Corrupticut for nothing.  Then again it seems to me that no one elected really knows anything going on in our state that has one party rule.  Corruption is what I feel is going on in our state instead.

Wallingford's Woodgate 2012

Wallingford.  Woodgate.  2012. One of the most critical issues facing Wallingford in 2012 is the disposal of wood from last years storms.  Woodgate has now been created to waste now even more taxpayers monies in order to satisfy the inquisitive and never satisfied Town Councilor-Mayoral Wanna Be who supposedly represents us.
This crisis of wood has developed due to the wrong dumping apparently of a load of wood during the cleanup after the storms.  I am wondering if the Town Councilor actually realized the magnitude of the amount of clean up after these storms?  I am wondering if he was out there helping homeowners clean up their yards?   Was he at the town compost area inspecting vehicles and directing traffic?
The massive amounts of wood that came down were probably of historical proportions and took a long period of time to clean up.  I still have a large tree that has to be cut up in my back yard.  However why we are wasting taxpayer's monies to investigate this situation is beyond me.  I guess we need to satisfy what seems to be the pressing need to keep one's name in front of the  media and in front of the public at all times whether or not it is worthy of it.
And in my opinion Woodgate is one of these times.  And as a taxpayer I truly resent that one penny of my tax money needs to be spent investigating it.  What happened seems to have been a mistake, the wood was picked up from the house it was dumped at and move on from it.  It is another non event in which the Democrats again hope that they somehow gain political strength from.
Woodgate is a waste of our tax money.  I truly resent it.

The Tired Tax and Spend Policies of Mary Mushinsky

Mushinsky defended her vote for Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s budget, which raised taxes by $1.8 billion. She said constituents surveyed didn’t want to see cuts to such services as education funding, rental assistance and programs for the elderly. A 20 percent drop in revenue due to the recession meant that increases in taxes were needed to close the state’s budget gap, Mushinsky said.
“We had to balance the budget, and I think we did it in the most efficient way possible,” she said.
It is the usual.  Tax and spend, tax and spend.  Another election in Wallingford and in the 85th State Representative District.  For 32 years now, the taxpayers of the moving 85th District have had to suffer through the economically misguided tax and spend policies of State Representative Mary Mushinsky.  Mercifully it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel for taxpayers in this district.  Two strong candidates are emerging in the Republican party to challenge and defeat the 32 year incumbent this November.  Representative Mushinsky seems to be proud of all of the economic damage she has helped to inflict upon our community and state in the name of one party rule which rules Hartford.
She has voted for every tax increase she has seen in 32 years including our economic cure all state income tax which has done little to shore up our overspending by the one party rule in Hartford.  She has help to lead Connecticut down the path of economic ruin with excessive tax and spending programs which have forced businesses, taxpayers and our youth to move out of our state.  She and her Democratic party are the problem in our state.  One party rule and rule by irrational economic policies has help to bring the state on to economic chaos.  Just a gentle reminder that nothing has been done to address the $60 to $80 billion dollars worth of unfunded liabilities that the state still has.  Thus we just continue to see tax and spend.  
Remember Representative Mushinsky help to pass the highest tax increase in states history.  She has never voted against a tax increase.  Don't the taxpayers of Wallingford deserve better in November?
Tax and spend, tax and spend.  There is no economic logic in one party rule or by the economically irrational budget that was passed.

What Is Another $180,000 Of Taxpayers Wasted Monies?




When you are one party rule and you waste billions upon billions of dollars what is another $180,000 of taxpayers monies wasted?  I mean the $180,000 I guess was going to create some shovel ready jobs for some Democratic donors for the new and highly needed Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail website.   I can not think of a more critical project for our one party rule to waste taxpayers monies on than the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail website.  How can our state move forward economically without the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail website?  How many jobs will be loss if the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail website is not created for $180,000.  I applaud Wallingford Candidate for State Representative Greg Bachand for saving taxpayers a mere $179,940.95 by being able to create the same Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail website at a cost of $59.05.  Bachand has highlighted the economic debacle and economic illiteracy of what one party rule does to our state.  Why must we waste taxpayer’s monies on this Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail website?  How many more of these ridiculous projects has one party rule passed in this budget?  At the same time with the highest tax increase is state's history, still more budget deficits and every type of socially liberal bill passing and enacted to harm our quality of life here in Connecticut. I can not think of a more critical project for our one party rule to waste taxpayers monies on than the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail website. It really says it all of one party rule in Connecticut.  Keep up the good work Mr. Bachand-I hope you represent us come November.

Here Are The Real 2012 Facts Of One Party Rule For Connecticut

The Democrats will soon be in full force trying to run their reelection campaigns based upon some Utopian views of how well Connecticut is doing with their one party rule.
Here are the facts so you the voters can decide:
1. The highest tax increase in state's history retroactive to 1/1/11 helped now to create a $260 million and rising  budget deficit which was not addressed in this legislative session.
2. What was addressed was a repeal of the death penalty which a majority of state residents still favor keeping as law.
3. A unionization of all home health care workers.
4. An economically irrational anti gouging bill for businesses (apparently state government is allowed to gouge taxpayers in any way they see fit) which in no way can be enforced.
5. A $343,000 grant to a New Haven organization which embraces and has Communist ties which struck from a bonding bill (we are waiting to see how this will be circumvented and be bonded).
6. The House passes an increase in the Minimum Wage increase to further strain and increase business costs and prices of goods in our state.
7. The 3rd highest taxed state in our country.
8. The state is now ranked 44th in Business friendliness, another drop since last year.
9. Still again no education reform due to excessive union influence.
To me the list is endless.  On and on and on.
By all means if you appreciate this tyranny and economic illiteracy keep voting for one party rule.

More Connecticut Ultra Liberalism

Ultra liberalism is alive and well in the Hartford one party rule called state government.  It seems that it is just one thing after another which is quickly making up my mind to move out of the state as soon as I can.
Besides the lawlessness of the repeal of the state death penalty, a forced increase in the minimum wage or the highest tax increase in state's history (which is helping to create a massive state budget deficit) pick any current topic and our liberal government continues its force feeding of its economic illiterate theories and processes. 
You can choose to call it what you like but the Democrats one party rule in Hartford is creating an economic hemorrhage in which it will be difficult to come out of in either the short or long run. 
The end of this do nothing legislative session is May 9th.  Nothing has been done to address the budget deficit nor apparently before Malloy will have to call a special session at the cost of $10,000 a day of taxpayers monies.  Again what a waste of taxpayers monies all due to the economically illiterate one party rule of Hartford.

The Death of the Death Penalty and the Death of Many Innocent People

Ultra liberalism. It defines Connecticut. One party rule, high minimum wages, high welfare benefits, excessively high business taxes, excessively high personal taxes, an archaic highway system, and now the end of the death penalty.
Why? Is repealing the death penalty the most critical issue in Connecticut in 2012? Apparently to our do nothing Legislature and Governor it is. Again why should we repeal this law?
The death penalty is a deterrent to crime especially violent murder. Violent murders as in the Petit family. However, by repealing this law we are repealing a safeguard to violent crimes in our state. We are stating that no matter how brutal the crime may be, you the criminal will be rewarded with your life. The lives that you may have murdered are disregarded. The murdered have lost theirs and apparently have no rights in Connecticut's Judicial System. You as the criminal will be afforded all of the rights in the world and at Connecticut taxpayers expense.
This is the true meaning of the repeal of this law.
I wonder if the law would have been repealed if an ultra liberal Democrat's family was murdered?
Yes the death penalty will be repealed over the voices of the innocent victims of crime in our society. And the death of many innocent people will now follow our ultra liberal Democratic state of disregard. A disregard for the people who live here and who are forced to support this debacle of government. Sort of like socialism if you ask me.

As Usual More DeLauro Distortions

We know it is election time in Connecticut's Third Congressional District. Our Representative for life, tax and spend Rosa DeLauro has now placed her economic footprint on Representative Paul Ryan's budget which was passed by the House. Ryan's budget amazingly enough calls for gasp! cuts in spending! And tries to address our never ending National Debt. A National Debt which has grown from the constant spending laws that have been passed by our Representative for life in her unlimited years in power. DeLauro obviously can not handle any cuts in spending especially social welfare spending, which is in my economic opinion completely out-of-control. She saw some good press on Ryan's attempt to rework the massive failed social welfare programs of our federal government in particular food stamps.

From the 4/3/12 New Haven Register, DeLauro said food stamps actually help to grow the economy. She cited a Moody’s report that food stamps generate $1.73 in economic activity for every dollar spent “because people spend the money right away; it generates a multiplier effect in local communities.”
How in economic terms can taxpayer deficit funded food stamps help stimulate the economy? It is a permanent transfer of wealth which ultimately does not provide those people who need the help with any long term skills in getting themselves off of social welfare programs. Are all food stamps actually spent the way they should be spent? Thus one must assume there is no fraud with regards to any social welfare spending program in our government. Truly amazing.

We have spent trillions upon trillions of taxpayers dollars to combat the war on poverty which in my economic opinion have little result other than creating the bloated welfare bureaucracy that entraps so many on welfare in 2012. And for some it helps create welfare as a way of life.
It is truly a waste of taxpayers monies. I continue to applaud Representative Ryan for having the guts to actually address the wastes and fraud of our federal budget and in particular the National Debt. Our Representative for life (who we can only hope to be replaced in November) continues to pave the taxpayer's road to economic ruin with her misguided and failed economic thoughts. Enough is enough.

The Connecticut Senate Race-Linda McMahon

I find Connecticut's Senate race to be very interesting. As a Republican I feel it is healthy for our party to have candidates expose differing views and thoughts as to their policies. The three candidates all have some interesting ideas although I hold strong feelings in this election. The Democratic candidates seem to be to me just the typical Connecticut tax and spend elitist candidates who rule with a great deal of economic illiteracy and folly.
Back to the Republican side I continue to support and endorse Linda McMahon for a variety of reasons. She is a self made women contrary to the media distortion of her life. She has articulated precise economic programs and policies in both campaigns with this years plans to be even more far reaching than in 2010. She did not flee the state as did Mr. Shays after he lost his seat. She has been here paying taxes along with her business playing an enormous amount of taxes at all levels of government and also actually creating jobs. Mr. Shays now has a plan to eliminate the national debt-well what did he do for all the years he was a US Representative? Did he have any plan then? Did he really control spending or taxes?
In my economic opinion I am truly tired of the political lifers we have in the House and Senate who do nothing, become millionaires from their positions and have help to ruin our economy. Mr. Blumenthal and his ridiculous and economically illiterate actions in the Senate have proven this theory. Where is your budget Mr. Blumenthal? His time as our Senator really has been laughable for the taxpayers of our state-his concern is himself and his ego only. What a poor choice to represent us.
Thus once again I am supporting Linda McMahon for United States Senator and her plan of action. She is in my opinion very electable much to chagrin of the media and the many RINO's who inhabit the Republican party in our state. She is a political breath of fresh air, with a rational economic plan of attack for our economy. She will actually represent us and the Constitution which would be so nice for a change.
Yes I support Linda and by the way you only need one more vote than the stale, economically inept Democratic candidate to win the election...just a thought.

Representative Paul Ryan's Excellent Plan

I applaud Representative Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) for his plan to cut spending by $5.3 trillion dollars and balance the budget by 2040. His plan would simplify our tax structure which would help to create economic stimulation and economic growth as our government would decrease in size and be forced to become efficient.
Representative Ryan has become our country's spokesman when it comes to seeking a solution to our out of control spending and national debt. He is the only member of Congress in my economic opinion who has the desire to try to create a solution to this economic debacle that currently exists in Washington. And his plan needs to be looked at and enacted upon to save our country and economy.
What we hear from the Democrats is more of the same, more and higher taxes, more spending on failed social welfare programs, more spending on crony capitalism, more, more and more waste. And these economic programs of tax and spend have failed our economy miserably.
It is time for a different way of looking at Washington, cut spending, cut programs and cut taxes.

Connecticut's Cruel Gas Taxes-Cap It Permanently

There are many cruel gas taxes in our state along with many other excessive taxes on all aspects of our lives and businesses. But it is interesting to see that our one party rule in Hartford is willing to throw taxpayers a bone with a one year and one year only cap on the state secret gross earning tax on gasoline. Why can't they cap it permanently?
I guess taxpayers and drivers in our state should be ecstatic at these crumbs thrown at us. Why are we this highly taxed in the first place? Is our highway system that efficient? For example smooth, paved roads? Or is it a nightmare especially in the I-91-95 corridor? Where does all this gasoline tax money go to-the general fund, the one party rule slush fund that has driven our state into debt with out end?
And the rhetoric of the secret gross earnings tax cap continues. Senator Suzio's proposal should be voted on immediately and made permanent once and for all. Taxpayers have been raped long enough by Hartford's one party rule. It is truly time to end our taxation without representation that exists in Hartford.

The Jobs Postings

Well the poor economic news continues to pour into our overtaxed state. As I stated in my last blog, I really did not feel that our state is gaining more jobs or the unemployment rate is going down that much. Also new jobs being created to replace those jobs lost over the past four years is down by 67% meaning that only about 33% of 117,500 jobs lost in the last recession have been recreated. That in my economic opinion is a dismal record, but a record which is consistent with a one party rule in Hartford. Thus Connecticut continues to once again lag behind the rest of the country in new job formation and will probably be one of the last states if not the last state to recover from the recession. In my economic opinion we still have yet to recover from the previous recession and this recession is no different. An obstructionist government, excessively high taxes, high workers compensation and unemployment costs and a poor road system has led to Connecticut's decline.
Why in the world would you vote for this same type of one party rule in November again make no sense to me-maybe a balanced political system in Hartford might actually yield economic results. Are we going to see the same results in March, 2013?

A Lack Of Jobs

Where are the jobs in Connecticut? For that matter in our country? How is 8% unemployment looked at as being an improvement in 2012 for our state? What about the number of workers who are out of unemployment benefits and given up looking for work and are no longer counted? Thus we may actually have an unemployment rate of 15 to 17% rather than a published 8% rate. But then again economic figures are normally manipulated by governmental officials to their benefit and for political gain.
Sort of like what we will see in Monday's report on jobs. Or then again the lack of jobs and economic growth which still plagues our state. But who is worried about that? We will just keep taxing the remaining businesses in our state with one of the highest unemployment taxes in the country, coupled with all of the other high taxes in the state. And then we will again ask, where are the jobs in 2012?

The Republican Presidential Primary

The Republican Presidential primary has been an interesting process. Candidates have been courting voters and groups with their policies, thoughts and ideas. From a field of eight candidates we seem to be down to four and realistically down to two candidates, Mr. Romney and Mr. Santorum. Both candidates offer many different ideas and views with regards to our current world, economy and social issues. And it shows a healthy Republican view of what a primary is much to the disgust of the liberal mainstream media. As a Republican I feel this process is essential in this election. Mr. Obama is running for reelection with a dismal and economically irrational record. He has help to create a massive national debt increase, a massive socialized health care program and numerous other socialistic programs which are failing our economy on a daily basis. He is a strong candidate? How so? In the liberal media's view I assume. Thus in my economic opinion, Mr. Obama is probably the weakest economic candidate running for reelection in the past 125+ years of our nation. The media will try to continue to prop him up but will not succeed as economics trumps rhetoric. And I feel voters have had enough of him also.
Let Mr. Romney and Mr. Santorum continue their debate, let Republican voters decide who they want as their candidate.
And let the economic debacle that has entrapped our economy for the past four years pass with a new President come November.

Cap The Secret Gross Earning Tax-State Senator Suzio To Help Taxpayers

State Senator Len Suzio has proposed that the Connecticut Secret Gross Earnings on gasoline be capped and not continue to increase as gas prices increase. Amen to State Senator Suzio for this monumental fight for drivers and taxpayers in one of the highest taxed states in the country. Our state has secretly for many years now taken advantage of drivers and taxpayers through this idiotic gross earnings tax. A tax that is logically passed on to the users of gasoline much to the amazement of our one party rule in Hartford. State Senator Suzio's plan is to cap this cruel tax and help to actually lower gas prices by preventing this over taxation on our gasoline.
And please do not buy the Democratic rhetoric that these taxes go into improving our road and bridge system. Does anyone drive either I-91 or I-95 on a daily basis? I do not see a smooth patch of road for miles on end nor do I see any improvement in our road system. It is not happening as this tax goes into the general fund for the Democratic blank check government that is forced upon taxpayers in this one party ruled state.

Again More Democratic Confusion-Applause to Ms. Bachand


I enjoyed reading in this morning's Record Journal an article on Tanya Bachand http://www.myrecordjournal.com/wallingford/article_94a80b64-5840-11e1-8097-001871e3ce6c.html
I did find confusing the following statement from the Wallingford Democratic Chairman which was found in the article:
But Democratic Town Chairman Vincent Avallone said that, while he doesn't know Bachand personally, he believes tea party ideas and ideologies have lost steam."The more local Republicans are influenced by the Tea Party, the better it is for the Democratic Party," he said. "I think their effectiveness and impact has worn out and people are fed up."Avallone said that he believes independent voters are turned off by the tea party and see it as "obstructionist."

In my economic opinion the more individual voters and taxpayers are influenced by the Tea Party the more they realize how one party rule by the Democratic party in Connecticut has all but ruined our state. People are fed up with being the highest taxed state in the country and the worse state in the country to retire in rather than being fed up with a free Tea Party movement which is attempting to better our state and country. They are not willing to continue the road to economic ruin that the Democrats have led us on. The Tea Party is an organization that welcomes independent thought and independent voters.
No-I think Mr. Avallone is confused because the more students and citizens I talk to, the more they tell me that they are fed up with our one party rule in this state. The obstruction is found by the Democrats in Hartford whether it is by gerrymandering legislative districts to eliminate candidates from running for state office by being pushed out of their current district or by excessive taxation and nepotism which reigns supreme in Hartford.
Keep up the good work Tanya and the Tea Party. Victory is in sight. The Democrats are the problem.

Connecticut's Economic War

Connecticut has an economic war. It has been going on for years. It is a war that pits those who work, run businesses in our state and pay taxes against a one party ruling elite.
It is an economic war that features outrageous economic claims by a elitist Governor as far as a balanced budget. It is an economic war that features the highest tax rates in the country. It is a war that features economic illiteracy versus free economic markets. It is an economic war that features a waste of valuable state resources such as our youth fleeing from living here. It is an economic war that features being one of the worse states to retire in. It is an economic war that features 10% of all state spending now pays for interest on borrowed money. It is an economic war that has billions in unfunded future state liabilities.
Can we win this economic war? Not with one party rule in Hartford. A continuation of one party rule further creates the economic chaos we have in our state. Thus, the economic war continues ad infinitum (to infinity).

Hey Senator for Life-Where's Our Budget?

Senator for Life Dick Blumenthal is now worried about NFL blackouts along with all of the other fluff things he likes to get press about. But Senator for Life what about something as frivolous as a Federal budget? I mean it is only 1000+ days without a budget-how does the Senator for Life explain it or twist it to his advantage? Or more likely does the Senator for Life understand what a budget is? You would think a Senator for Life who made a state career of enforcing the law and laws yet enacted or created would want to follow the law of the United States Senate and pass a budget for the country. Maybe an actual budget would force some spending cuts and or cuts in our massive national deficit and debt which have been rolling up to record numbers since 2009.
But according to our current United States Senate who cares about the economy, the national debt and having a budget? Certainly our Senator for Life is not worried about something as insignificant as this. After all what is the political value in a budget? Especially when you know your party will probably be losing control of the Senate and Presidency very shortly?
Just imagine Connecticut taxpayers and voters how much further ahead we could have been economically with Linda McMahon as our Senator. Instead look at the economic ineptness we as taxpayers must pay for forever in our Senator for Life Blumenthal.

More Economic News-Higher Gasoline Prices

There will be some major issues as far the costs of gasoline in the near future for a variety of reasons. These are the same reasons that we hear about each year, turmoil in the Middle East, change over by refineries from different governmental required blends of unleaded (50+ blends), shipping issues and the list is endless. So what is new?
We as a country had a great opportunity to develop a more stable energy supply through the Keystone Pipeline project. We know that became political theater for the Obama Administration and thus the rejection of it. Thus a great source of economic freedom for our economy becomes more economic illiteracy by our government.
Here in Connecticut elected officials can not wait for the increase in gas prices as it creates a tax boom for the state through the still secret gross receipts earnings tax on gasoline which increases as the price of gasoline increases. More money will flow into Hartford to keep spending as quickly as possible.
In its most simplistic terms higher gas prices will further our recession and cause consumers to spend and save less each week as gas prices continue to grow. It is nothing new as we have had only 39+ years to become energy independent. And it will be 39+ more years before anything is done about it.

Another Day, Another Connecticut Economic Debacle

Well it is another day and another Connecticut economic debacle brought to you by the stale one party Democrat rule in Hartford. The latest now coming along with a never ending budget deficit even with the highest tax increase in our state's history. Now comes a push to increase the minimum wage by US Representative by decree Chris Donovan.
Why raise the minimum wage? Because it is an election year and that is how you buy votes in a one party totalitarian system such as we have here in our state. Who pays for the increase in the minimum wage? The remaining businesses here in the state and you and I consumers who purchase anything here in our state. Thus in a continued economic downturn we are going to add more issues for our remaining businesses as to how to pay for this now after the largest tax increase in our state's history.
What we see is one party rule's economic illiteracy at work. Why raise it now? Their economic arguments astound me-a minimum wage does more to eliminate jobs than to create them. But then again when one has never worked or been productive in our economy then one does not understand how the economy works. Sort of like how the one party rule thinks in Hartford. It is just another day and another economic debacle here in Connecticut.

The Same State Of The Union Speech

It was the same pretty much as 2009,2010,2011, more governmental programs, more governmental spending, more taxes, more regulations, more national debt, more political nepotism, more economically irrational bills, more, more, more of the same.
Mr. Obama kicked off his reelection campaign last night with yet another recycled State of the Union speech in which he said more of the same that he has said for the past three years. More governmental programs, more governmental spending, more taxes, more regulations, more national debt, more political nepotism, more economically irrational bills, more, more, more of the same. I guess I said that already.

I wonder when he will actually start governing and leading before he is voted out of office in November? Our election day can not happen soon enough.

The Rejection of the Keystone Pipeline Astounds Me and Should Astound America

I guess from an economic standpoint the Keystone Pipeline is in the eyes of economic liberalism bad for our country. It is bad in many ways apparently because it would create 20,000+jobs in a very short time span, lower the balance of trade deficits and economic power of enemies overseas by reducing our dependency upon foreign oil and lastly lower the massive costs of gasoline and home heating oil especially here in New England. The economic logic that this Administration has presented as a reasoning to be against this project astounds me and should astound any rational American.
I guess these jobs are not good enough for this Administration. I guess becoming energy independent is not good enough for this Administration. I guess lower energy prices are not good enough for this Administration. This is just another example of the Obama Administrations blatant disregard for its citizens and its economic future. Unemployment benefits have gone on long enough and this Administration is now solely responsible for the economic mess we are in and have been since 2009. They own it in 2012.

So Mr. President What Is Your Plan To Lower The National Debt?

So Mr. President what is your plan to lower the National Debt? The National Debt has increased at a greater rate than ever before in our nation's history since you took office. You have helped to make the National Debt equal to the value of our economy in terms of Gross Domestic Product. You have increased the National Debt by a mere 50%, more than $5 trillion dollars since you took office. You have offered stimulus after stimulus with no economic results. You have spent money that does not exist to entrap our economy with a massive debt for years to come burdening our yet unborn grandchildren with this fiscal and economic mess. And apparently you are proud of your reckless endangerment of our economy by your reelection campaign.
Enough is enough, our National Debt is no longer economically sustainable. You and your Administration have created this mess and you and your Administration are responsible for it.
So again I ask, Mr. President what is your plan to lower the National Debt? The economic silence is deafening.

What Constitution? Obviously Not In This Administration

Do we still have a constitution which governs our country? I wonder after Mr. Obama's recess appointments (even though the Senate is still in session) appointing members to the National Labor Relations Board and a director to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau without going through the constitutionally required Senate confirmation process.
Why was he allowed to do this in clear violation of the law? Where our Connecticut Senators on this issue? Where are the Republicans in the Senate on this issue?
A severe violation of our Constitution by our spinning out-of-control President needs to be addressed immediately.
The Constitution is what governs the President whether he likes it or not, the law has to be followed and understood, he was sworn under oath by it. What part of the Constitution and his oath does he not understand?
I am shocked and appalled by his actions.
Our election this year can not come too soon as this President is lost and we as a country have just wasted four years.

How Much More Can State Government Grow?

It is interesting to see how much further Connecticut government can grow. In Hartford we have seen a continuous expansion of government in terms of employees, laws, rules, regulations, spending, increased taxes, and losses of economic freedom. What about the largest tax increase in our state's history?
The Super Majority one-party rule of the Democrats in Hartford has basically choked and stifled our economy for many years now. Many of our graduating youth will never settle in their home state due to the high cost of living, high tax rates and lack of job opportunities. I use my daughter as an example, nor do I feel it would be in her best interests economically to come back here, nor will she.
Our state has become and will stay economically stagnant for years to come due to the lack of a two party system in the state. And with 2012 being a state election year we will be flooded with the usual stale Democrat propaganda of showing us how much they have done for our state. It has already started with Representative Tax and Spend Mushinsky here in Wallingford. More of the same in 2012, a ruling one party elite damaging our state economy on a daily basis. Is there an end to this cancerous growth?
