Let Us Tax Connecticut's Air

Why not? It would provide a way for the Connecticut Democratic Super Majority in Hartford to keep overspending tax monies and further drive Connecticut into bankruptcy. It it actually a feasible plan with some thinking out of the box. Since there can be no cuts in spending in Hartford, raising taxes is the one and only alternative that can be offered. Thus by taxing the air that we breathe here in the state the Super Majority will show their omnipotence as supreme taxing economic beings dictating to the masses what we can and can not have so as to perpetuate their political ego and overspending.
Are you breathing too much? Tax it. Eating too much? Tax it. Living too much? Tax it. Taxing everything is another economically illiterate solution which I am sure will be thrown around in the coming year.
Why Connecticut voters voted for this coming mess in Hartford is beyond me. We are on the verge of bankruptcy, spending needs to be slashed like it has been in family budgets. When will the economic stupidity stop?

2011 and Economics

What will 2011 bring economically? If one is working and paying their bills it will be more of the same in my economic opinion. Economic stagnation. If one is still not working, where will the jobs be in 2011? How are we helping the unemployed by giving them three years of unemployment benefits? How does this create jobs and who pays for the unemployment compensation?
How will the economy cope with another run up of energy prices? What happens to the economy when gasoline is at $4+ a gallon and heating oil is at $3.25+ a gallon. How higher can these prices go?
Will the new Governor and the Connecticut Super Democratic Legislative majority address Connecticut's coming fiscal insolvency? Or will they continue to raise taxes, raise spending and continue to create an even greater deficit of which there will be no fiscal resolution to? How does one party rule in Hartford help our economy in any way in 2011? How has all of the billions of dollars that the state has thrown at "problems" been efficient to help to create solutions to these same "problems".
2011 in my economic opinion will bring more political economic illiteracy at all levels of government. My advice is to be frugal economically in the coming economic storm.

How High Will Energy Prices Go?

How much are you willing to pay for gas and heating oil? $4 a gallon will probably be the norm for 2011. And where will this money come from for consumers? Unknown. We know government at all levels disregards thrift and conservation, but we as consumers must now figure out once again how to pay for skyrocketing energy costs. We know our government still can not figure out how to develop a comprehensive energy plan which would make our economy self sufficient. It only has had 37 years to do this, we really can not expect it to happen that soon. Natural gas shale, offshore oil drilling and a promotion of nuclear power are all fantasies to our mindless and economically illiterate government.
Thus for 2011 expect to pay much more for energy, even though we have plenty in our country which could be used. We know our elected officials have no thought for energy self sufficiency for our country. It would just make too much sense economically.

Once Again Rosa DeLauro Votes Against Her District

Why she got reelected is beyond me. Why the people of Connecticut's Third Congressional District vote for her is amazing. She in my economic opinion does not in any way represent this district. Representative DeLauro voted against the extension of the Bush tax cuts, she actually voted against her President. Her President who is economically challenged when dealing with economic issues. She apparently voted against the bill because of supposed tax cuts for the 2% of the most wealthy and that it does not create enough jobs. As an economist I fail to see how the top 2% are getting such a massive cut in this bill, if anything those who leave $5 million dollars in inheritances will see the federal government steal 35% of it now. That money has been taxed numerous times already. Why is that justified? How did DeLauro's vote for socialized health care and the Obama stimulus package actually create jobs for our economy either? They were both job killers.
Once again she has voted against her district. Why is she our Representative?

Why Is It Difficult For Government To Cut Spending?

And why won't they cut spending? Why must firmly entrenched pork barrel spending continue at all levels of government? Has spending by government ever have an actual clean audit? Is all governmental spending efficient and free of fraud? At what level of deficit spending does government become bankrupt? At what level of governmental spending does their liabilities exceed their assets? Are we at that point at this time? Can a new Congress actually have the guts to reform taxes and cut spending at the same time to avoid bankruptcy?
Mr. Obama is no comeback kid, he has little economic education nor economic understanding of the two year debacle he has created. The reforms economically are simplistic. Ignore the biased media and leftist Democrats and cut spending and taxes. Create a plan to pay off the national debt. 2012 is around the corner and mercifully this administration and its failed economic policies will be gone.

Economic Follies

Economic follies are all around us, must be that time of the year.
On a local level how does Wallingford pay for $1 million dollars of union pay raises mandated by an illogical arbitration settlement?
On a state level how does Connecticut pay for $72+ billion dollars of short and long term debt?
On a federal level how does Washington pay for $14+ trillion dollars of national debt?
I can see Wallingford's plan which is the most logical, layoffs and movement of funds. On a state and national level it is more of the same economic illiteracy that we have seen for years. This holiday season politicians still do not get it, there is no more money, spending needs to be cut once and for all.

Chris Dodd Still Hates Small Business In His Final Days As Senator

Senator Chris Dodd still hates those in small business. His two votes today in the Senate against the repeal of the utterly ridiculous small business 1099 form reporting of information requirements for payments of $600 or more to corporations. This 1099 reporting was hidden in the socialist Obamacare health care bill. Dodd voted against Senator Johanns's amendment and Senator Baucus's repeal amendment. Chris Dodd can still do damage to the businesses of Connecticut in his final days as Senator. He once again has proven his ineptness and his anti-business stance. From his economically illogical finance reform bill to the passing of socialized health care, to the countless other economic blunders he has made a Senator, good bye and good riddance Chris Dodd.

Chris Dodd will never get it, here is my last correspondence I received from him. What has he really done for us? And he never came clean on all of his sweetheart deals, what a debacle. Are We That Much Safer Flying?

Are we that much safer when we fly? The new debacle of the TSA with xray body scans and rough pat downs really make us that much safer when we fly? Where is the evidence and proof? Why are law abiding, tax paying United States citizens subject to this kind of harassment? Wasn't the old system actually working since we did not have any issues since 9/11? Why does the governmental bureaucracy once again displace common sense?
And why are we not updating our air traffic controlling radar to the most advanced means possible instead of the out-of-date system that continues to exist in 2010? Because of union lobbying?

Many questions but once again little or no response from this administration and its political hacks. Do I feel safer flying with this invasion of my privacy? No. Political corruption, bureaucracy, and inefficiencies all have replaced common sense when flying. And it will only make our resistance stronger to our government's invasions of personal freedoms and liberties that this administration has taken away since 2009.

Connecticut's False Election

How was Connecticut's Governors race decided? How was it legal? Why was our state constitution violated and our rule of law violated? How was it legal to extend the voting hours and then notify voters? Why weren't enough ballots ordered? Why weren't the ballots left in a secured place? Why were bags of ballots discovered a few days later? All Democrat ballots?
The sham that was Connecticut's election really needs to be investigated. But we all know that since it benefited the Democrats there is no need to look into it. We can just cover up this fraud and forget about it. We also know that if it was the Republicans who had the advantage there would be no certification of the election. If that was the case we know there would be enough Democrat votes found to change the election.
Mr. Malloy was not elected with a majority, if he did not have the mythical Working Families party line he would have lost the election. And why a candidate is allowed to be on two party lines is beyond me. All Connecticut voters and taxpayers need to keep in mind the power of a recall election. For we are facing four more years of poor government in Hartford. Recall.

Inflation And Energy

What is inflation? Inflation is a general increase in the price level. It can be felt in certain segments in our economy or across the board, a large jump in the prices of all consumer goods and services. In my economic opinion we are seeing a large increase in energy prices for a variety of reasons. The reasons are the same since 1973. It is inflation pure and simple. It would be nice that in the last 37 years since the first energy crisis in 1973 that we had a comprehensive plan to drill and refine oil in our country, to lower the amount of dollars that must go to OPEC for our oil and to show some stabilization for heating oil consumers especially here in the Northeast. But we have the same comical policies which have hindered our energy policy and independence every year now since 1973. And we will hear all the political talk of new drilling, alternative energy and the list goes on.
But the energy consumer will be paying much more over the next few months. All because our elected officials are clueless when it comes to the economics laws of energy.

Higher Taxes Solve Everything In Connecticut

I do not envy Dan Malloy. Sliding in with little majority and by the help of the mythical Working Families Party, Malloy bought his Governorship. And with it is the continuing mandate of the Connecticut Democratic Super Majority of another four years of anti-business policies, higher taxes, higher governmental spending, more unfunded mandates, more unfunded and higher union pensions for Connecticut taxpayers. Governor Malloy must now embrace every big spending liberal program that will be coming from his fellow Democratic Super Majority in both chambers. Tax and spend, spend and tax for the next four years. There will be no end in sight to higher taxes and spending, while the Democratic Super Majority will state that they inherited the economic mess from the previous administration even though they have been in control for too many years now.
Over the next four years more Connecticut residents will be voting with their feet and our economic situation will continue to deteriorate.
Buckle up taxpayers, here comes more taxes and more spending with 50% of the voting public yearning for something different like leadership. Let us all start voting with our feet.

What Has Mary Mushinsky Done For You Lately?

What has Mary Mushinsky done for you lately? If you live in Wallingford and she represents you, what has she done for you lately? Has she raised your taxes? Made your public water costs go up? Increased benefits and unfunded liabilities for state employees while your pays are stagnant or are going down? Help create a hostile business climate through excessive workers compensation costs, high taxes and petty litigation? The list to me as a taxpayer is endless. She has no ability to supposedly represent the people who put her into office one too many times. She has her own liberal agenda which is out of touch with economic reality in 2010. She needs to be voted out of office once and for all.
Mike Vitali will actually represent you and your best interests economically. He understands why his generation is fleeing our state. He understands that we need more not less businesses for our state. He understands that lower taxes spur economic growth. What has Mary Mushinsky done for you lately? Not much in my economic opinion. Why Continue To Vote For Democrats? Why More Economic Ruin?

Just curious, why do voters keep voting for Democrats in a state of one party rule? Connecticut to me seems to have massive economic problems which do not seem to go away. And the lack of solutions by the super majority ruling Democrat party in Hartford is frightening. Simplistic ideas of pushing line items off budget, saving monies by magic and the impending tax increases all spell more economic doom for our state. I ask again why do voters keep voting for Democrats in a state of one party rule? The Connecticut State Legislature seems to be a complete waste of taxpayer's monies. Nothing gets done except the passage of frivolous laws, massive increases in pet spending programs, nepotism hires at state agencies, and massive tax increases all help to create our economic nightmare for Connecticut. An economically illiterate governed state thanks to this super majority. Why let it continue any more?
November 2nd voters have a chance to end this regime. Vote this election for the Republican party and their economically wise candidates such as Tom Foley for Governor, Jeff Wright for State Treasurer, Jerry Farrell for Secretary of State, Martha Dean for Attorney General, Jack Orchulli for Controller, and Linda McMahon for United States Senator. Vote for Republican candidates for State Representative and State Senate. If you have had enough, then vote for these strong leaders for a change.

Vitali Wins Debate By Far And Wide In Wallingford

Mike Vitali by far and wide won the debate last night in Wallingford against Mary Mushinsky. Mike by far and wide needs to become our new State Representative in Wallingford's 85th District. Mushinsky by her lack of responses to jobs and the economy shows Wallingford taxpayers how out of touch with economic reality she is and how she is just focused on her own liberal agenda only which continues to force business and citizens out of our state. Mr. Vitali talked about the economy and jobs, he stated that business should not be treated like the enemy. And yet this is the same enemy that the Connecticut Democratic party loves to extract money from come election time. They hate business and industry yet want their campaign contributions.
It is this hypocrisy that proves that Mushinsky has been in office way too long, has completely lost touch with the taxpayers she supposedly represents and has absolutely no plan for economic growth in our community.
Mr. Vitali was no competition for the liberally tired current State Representative. He won the debate and he will go on to win the election in a few days. He can and will represent taxpayers in Wallingford's 85th District. It time for Mike Vitali and his leadership for our community. Vote for him and the Republican team this November.

Connecticut One Party Rule - Why?

Why do we have one party rule in Connecticut? Why do voters keep going back to Democrat candidates who have no idea how to govern, how to lead, how to be frugal with taxpayer's monies, how to cut spending, how to be business friendly and how to actually be honest with taxpayers? Thus, why do we have one party rule in Connecticut?
Our state under the leadership of the Democratic super majority since the passing of the state income tax has become a vast wasteland of unlimited and non productive state spending programs. This coupled with a mass flight of both businesses and our youth fleeing our state at any chance they get. There is little economic future in our state because of this one party rule. We have a massive budget deficit, massive unfunded future liabilities, massive inefficiencies in state government, massive taxes and massive bureaucratic burdens to the remaining businesses left here. And the blame needs to placed squarely upon the Democratic super majority for their ineptness and fraudulent way of running our state. We as taxpayers deserve better. The Donovans, Mushinskys and Blumenthals, just to name a few, all have contributed greatly to our demise.
We do have a choice. End Connecticut's one party rule in November, vote Republican for a change.

The Blumenthal Death Penalty Folly-Vote For Linda

And the list of reasons to vote against Richard Blumenthal for United States Senator does not end. Besides not understanding how jobs are created he also does not understand the concept of capital punishment. When the career politician was a State Senator he basically stonewalled movement on a functional death penalty for Connecticut. This has been reported on National Review online by both Brian Bolduc and Tom Scott 10/15 and 10/16/10 www.nationalreview.com . Because of his view and other Democrats, on May 2, 1990, the state senate took up H.B. 5542, which would have required a court to issue the death penalty if the aggravating factors outweighed the mitigating factors, thus the death penalty for the guilty party. Blumenthal now forgets that he spoke against the bill and helped to kill the bill. We now have with the infamous Petit murder trial the results of his and fellow Democrats stonewalling of 20 years ago, the legal fight against the death penalty for both of these murderers and the plea of taxpayers supported life in prison sentence. I wonder how fast the death penalty would be enacted if a famous Connecticut Democrats family was murdered in cold blood?
I personally am sick of career liberal politicians who have no sense of any reality of life whatsoever. I am personally sick of the lies of Richard Blumenthal. It is time for Linda McMahon to become our next Senator. Vote for Linda in this election.

Another Reason to Elect Mike Vitali For Wallingford's State Representative

Yet even more reasons to elect Mike Vitali for State Representative in Wallingford's 85th District. Our current tax and spend State Representative Mushinsky pushed for new stream flow regulations during dry months back beginning in 2005. The legislation that she help passed will bring a mere $10 million dollars in new costs for the town of Wallingford since we get the bulk of our water from reservoirs. New infrastructure would have to be built and our water flow would drop dramatically, thus massive increase in costs of water. Why do we need these additional costs since everything is working well at this time? Do all taxpayers in Wallingford know of her employment with the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association as the executive director. Thus there is no conflict of interest here? She should not have any business dealing with this legislation she helped to pass.
Again just another example of Mushinsky's tax and spend policies being rammed down the throats of taxpayers in Wallingford. Who will pay for these $10 million in improvements? You and me the Wallingford water users, you and me the Wallingford taxpayers.
This blatant disregard for the people she supposedly represents is just yet another reason we need Mike Vitali as our new State Representative in Wallingford's 85th District. Vote for him in November and vote for the entire Republican ticket, enough taxation without representation at all levels of government.

How Does Dick Blumenthal Create Jobs With His Friends?

Tell me how does Dick Blumenthal create jobs? Especially with all of the business friends he has made being Attorney General? How did Blumenthal create any jobs? He has help to destroy the business climate in Connecticut. How can this be qualifications to becoming a United States Senator? What does he actually know about the economy? In my economic opinion absolutely nothing. He knows nothing of private sector job formation through the free market system and economic growth. He knows nothing of the struggles of small businesses throughout the state facing economic turmoil due to his Democratic high tax and anti business platforms. His search and destroy methods have caused more long term economic harm to our state than any past Attorney General. And he is not in any way qualified to be a United States Senator with the horrific record he has.
Voters need to send a clear message to the elite Democratic party of Connecticut. Blumenthal has nothing to offer but lies and falsehoods.
Voters will elect Linda McMahon for our new Senator in November. It is really time to end this ruling elite.

Why would a taxpayer vote for Rosa "communist" DeLauro instead of Jerry Labriola in the Third Congressional District? Why would a taxpayer for vote for Dick "anti-business" Blumenthal instead of Linda McMahon for Connecticut Senator? Why would a Wallingford voter vote for Mary "tax and spend" Mushinsky instead of Mike Vitale for State Representative?
The economic stupidity marches on and on and on. When will taxpayers understand that the Democratic party and in particular these three individuals have done a great deal to damage our economy through their anti business, tax and spend policies. Why would you want to vote for them? Why do you wish to damage your economic future? Wake up voters before your economic freedom is totally lost.

Why Do We Keep Electing This Woman? Dump DeLauro

Why do we keep electing Rosa DeLauro in Connecticut's Third Congressional District? The district that I live in? Besides being anti business, embraces socialized medicine, embraces constant tax increases, she is also a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus which embraces its close ties with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), and the Communist Party.
We can also remember DeLauro embracing Communist Party Head Joelle Fishman on the front page of New Haven Register a few weeks back. That should make all of the veterans in her district be happy she is representing them through her avowed socialist themes, plans and laws. Just look at her record for the past twenty years. While we as taxpayers have been supporting her socialistic/communistic views, we have seen the self destruction of Connecticut especially in her district. Where are the business and industry that used to be in our district? Where are the jobs? Why is there still massive decline and debris in New Haven after twenty years of her rule? What has happened to our state and district? Look no further than to Rosa DeLauro and her brutal agenda stripping away freedom and the free market capitalistic system in her district. Wallingford Needs Mike Vitali

Wallingford needs Mike Vitali as its new State Representative. Mr. Vitali needs to replace the stale and failed liberal policies of Mary Mushinsky who has been in office too long. Her policies and those of her fellow Democrats in Hartford have helped to create the economic stagnation in Connecticut, help to drive out our young citizens from the state, drive business from our state and help to create the massive amount of unfunded liabilities taxpayers are now responsible for. Enough is enough of her tax and spend policies which do nothing for the betterment of our state. Taxpayers are fed up with her constant votes for increases in taxes and anti business policies.
Mike Vitali's focused plans of lower state spending, lower taxes and pro business policies are what is needed to start to stimulate our economy. We can ill afford another two years of Mushinsky's failed policies and lack of common sense to our current economic issues.
It is time to vote for Mike Vitali in Wallingford as our new State Representative.

Democratic Troubles

There is a great deal of trouble on the horizon for the Democratic party on both state and national level. The years of poor/non existent leadership, failed programs, failed economic policies, excessive taxation, corruption, greed, excessive state and national debt have all taken a toll on voters and taxpayers of our state and country.
Enough is enough. Common sense and honesty does not exist in Hartford and Washington. Change in a corrupt fashion occured at both levels of government. And there is a great deal of animosity and mistrust of government. We are sick of the lies.
The election in November is fast approaching. Voters and taxpayers have had enough. It is time to elect leaders who can actual lead.

Clinton Can't Save Blumenthal-Senator McMahon

Bill Clinton can't save Dick Blumenthal. Dick Blumenthal has done enough damage to our state as Attorney General that even the supposed savior, Bill Clinton can't save him. There is not much to get excited about Dick Blumenthal. He is arrogant, has a large ego, lies, is anti-business, is anti-economic growth, and has not offered any platforms as a candidate for Senator. He is probably the worse candidate the Democrats could run this year in Connecticut. As much as the Democrats will start their smear campaign against Linda McMahon it will not work due to her economic plan of action when she becomes Senator. She is articulate and has a pro business, pro economic growth platform that she is running on. Dick Blumenthal is running on air, a great deal of rhethoric and lies.
Linda McMahon will win in November. Connecticut taxpayers and voters have had enough of the damage that Dick Blumenthal has inflicted upon our state. He will be gone in a few months and hopefully we have seen the last of his turmoil brought to Connecticut taxpayers.

Czech President Vaclav Klaus Stands Up To The United Nations

Czech President Vaclav Klaus stood up to the United Nations in his comments telling the UN to get out of economics. In his brilliant response on economics to Swiss President of the General Assembly, Joseph Deiss, he stated that national governments should be in charge of their economies and that to resolve the global economic crisis did not need more super global agencies like the UN is proposing. Klaus stated,
"On the contrary, this is the time for international organizations, including the United Nations, to reduce their expenditures, make their administrations thinner, and leave the solutions to the governments of member states,".
Well stated President Klaus, who is a free market economist. The United Nations has proven time and time again that it can not solve any issue and is just a large, bloated bureaucracy that wastes United States taxpayers dollars in my economic opinion. It is corrupt and economically not needed in 2010. We all should listen to Czech President Vaclav Klaus.

Your Household Net Worth Has Dropped Again

Did you notice that your household net worth has dropped again? Did you notice that in most cases your are receiving .10% on bank savings/checking accounts? Did you notice your taxes go up again on a local, state and federal level? Did you notice your income has become stagnant (at one college that I teach at I have not gotten a raise in eight years)? Did you notice that credit is still brutal to obtain? Did you notice that the Obama administration has stated repeatedly that the recession is over? Or is it? Did you notice the mood of taxpayers in our country?
Recent economic statistics again have pointed to another drop in personal and household net worth. Your assets have once again decreased due to the lack of pro business, anti-tax and pro economic growth polices which are formulated in Washington. The economic policies coming out of Washington are childish, elementary and feeble. The Political Pureness Of Economic Illiteracy

There is a pureness to the economic illiteracy that I see at all levels of government. Elected political officials who act like they know everything about how the economy works and then make stupid economically illiterate remarks to go along with their equally stupid economically illiterate programs they force down upon businesses and taxpayers in our economy.
Let us look at some examples of this economic illiteracy in action. On a state level we have a massive budget deficit along a massive amount of unfunded pension liabilities. The Democratic super majority decides to move false accounting figures around and the net result is that they supposedly take credit for a balanced budget? How this is possible is beyond me. Connecticut is broke and one of the highest taxed states in the country.
The Federal economic nightmare is much more complex and I personally do not have enough time to write about all the economic corruption and economic illiteracy that goes on in Washington. Some highlights are an Obama economic stimulus program which has increased the national debt, done nothing other than increase unemployment, done nothing other than be a ticket to raise taxes on all who work and paid favorites to those who politically align themselves with this administration. What is the federal governments plan to balance the budget, pay for unfunded liabilities and pay off the national debt? Economic federal illiteracy at its best. Sort of like the supposed economic qualifications of Dick Blumenthal to become our Senator when he has not worked a day in his life and taxpayers have supported him and his ruthless anti business, anti economy nature his entire career. Sort of like Rosa DeLauro and her embracing a communist and voting for every tax increase and massive spending plan that has come her way in her years of non productivity in Washington. Sort of like Chris Dodd and his economic gains through his office that he continues to deny and that taxpayers must support him once he leaves office for the rest of his life.
There is a pureness to the economic illiteracy that I see daily. And I also see that taxpayers have had enough. I am drinking my tea while writing this-let the party begin by voting these economic illiterate fools out of office in November.

2010 The Year Of Political Upsets

I know it is early but in my economic opinion 2010 will represent the year of political upsets. Upsets at all levels of government, Federal, State and Local. Economics is the driving issue this election at all levels of government. Excessive taxation, poor and inefficient governmental spending, massive government debt, failed Keynesian economic policies, laws which are passed that are unread and unknown as to the non related amendments to the law, earmarks, disrespect to opposing views, disrespect to business, disrespect to our military, no new solutions to economic problems, and a failure to provide a free market economic environment to create jobs and economic growth. These issues are directly attributed those currently in power, the Dodds of the Senate, the DeLauros of the House and the Mushinskys of the State House. All have failed miserably in economic policies which only promote their aristocracy and help to create the serfs they so love to rule.
2010 will be the year of upsets. Linda McMahon has fresh economic views in her run for the Senate. Jerry Labriola has fresh economic views in his run for the House. And Mike Vitali has fresh economic views in his run for the State House. Let us restore our economy to the way it should be: robust, vibrant and growing.

Chris Dodd And His Continuing Socialist Agenda

Our sweetheart mortgage deal Senator Dodd never ceases to amaze me with his outright disregard for the people of Connecticut. Back on his socialistic track since he only has a few more months of supreme power left, he has authored a bill S.1619 titled the “Livable Communities Act.” What a socialists dream! From what I have read about this bill which has been totally ignored by the mainstream media and was brought to my attention by my fellow journalist/economist-The Armchair Economist, davidxjohnson.blogspot.com, the bill focuses on restricted land use, redistribution of wealth and population control. All while the taxpayers will be on the hook for $4 billion of new deficit spending and the development of yet another highly inept and overpaid czar. The arguments that Dodd presents for this bill is that it adds uniformity to control development to save energy and to preserve rural areas. And why do we need this? Aren't local governments responsible for their own land development without federal government interference? All this bill does is mandates the Federal Government to dictate to local governments what can be built on their land, how much land can be used for housing, what types of houses can be built, what types of appliances can go into those homes, and ultimately lead to massive local property tax increases.
Chris Dodd once again has crossed the line with Connecticut taxpayers. He has become a ruthless dictator of socialist programs while allowing himself the economic spoils of his political power. He will be gone in a few months only to have the taxpayers of America support him for the rest of his life. What an economic tragedy that we must endure. Oh and by the way vote Linda McMahon so that Dodd's brother Dick Blumenthal does not start his power grab in the Senate.

The Rhetoric Of Politics

The rhetoric of politics. Rhetoric in the sense that we hear the same old concepts from those in power. For example here in Wallingford, State Representative Mary Mushinsky is proud of her liberal record of tax and spend. It is the same stale rhetoric we hear from her each election. Her liberalism is focused upon the environment and the expansion of Connecticut's welfare state. The rhetoric of her policies has help to create Connecticut's anti-business climate and its excessively high tax rate. In 2010 we hear more of this rhetoric from her as she is concerned about...? Families who can't afford the high taxes she helped to create over the years. It is the same rhetoric over and over again-why do voters keep voting for her?
There is a great deal of rhetoric in our Senate race also as Dick Blumenthal, the slayer of business in our state tries to purchase his Senate seat as a divine right of his political statue here in Connecticut. Blumenthal, totally uncomfortable in his role of trying to understand economic and societal issues as a candidate is miscast. He has lied about his service to our country and is trying to reinvent his boring and abusive political personality. It is truly the same old rhetoric of a failed politician who has never worked a productive day in his life.
I do not hear any rhetoric from Republican Mike Vitale who is running against his rhetorical tax and spend opponent. And Linda McMahon brings a common sense approach to becoming our next Senator breaking apart the Blumenthal good old boys rhetoric club. End the political rhetoric, vote for Linda McMahon and Mike Vitale in November.

Democratic Economic Lies

There are many. Lies that is. From Washington to Hartford to Wallingford. Does Chris Murphy really think Connecticut has turned the corner and is improving? While Connecticut now has the 4th highest unemployment rate in the country? I guess he needs to say that to try to desperately get reelected. Chris Donovan, our do nothing Connecticut House Speaker states that the budget was balanced with no new taxes except for those remaining $1,000,000 income earners (who leave as fast as they can due to these new taxes). What about the billions of unfunded liabilities the state owes? How is that called a balanced budget Mr. Donovan? In Wallingford the Queen of tax and spend Mary Mushinsky is strangely quiet in this campaign, fearful for her political life due to the economic blunders she has forced down the taxpayers of Wallingford and the state. Murphy, Donovan and Mushinsky all show their economic illiteracy by these statements and actions. I guess this is something for Democrats to be proud of, mess up the state's economy to the point of no return and then blame the Republicans. Only in November 2010 voters are no longer buying their continued failed promises of higher spending and higher taxes. Economic Growth. Ruined by Democrats at all levels of government.

The Connecticut Secretary of State Race-Vote Jerry Farrell

The Connecticut Secretary of State race is an interesting one in 2010. We have seen the political self destruction of the current Secretary of State and the current Democratic candidate Denise Merrill is unsure as to what was saved or spent in her current role as House Majority Leader. With the economic debacle that has transpired under her leadership why would you want to vote for her as Secretary of State and keep her on the state's payroll? Why is she qualified to be Secretary of State? Because she is owed a Democratic political favor?
The Republican candidate is the current Consumer Protection Commissioner, Jerry Farrell, Jr. As Commissioner, Mr. Farrell has saved the state a substantial amount of monies by implementing a system consolidating the Department’s records and licensing systems. Once implemented, he asked another agency to abandon its own similar plan and brought that agency into the Consumer Protection Agency system saving taxpayer’s millions of dollars. I wonder how much Denise Merrill has cost the state in her reign? Billions of dollars in my economic opinion. Mr. Farrell also wishes to streamline the Secretary of State's office and make it user friendly for small businesses. He also will consolidate and create cost saving measures for state taxpayers.
I am personally tired of seeing the under ticket for state government be a retirement home for the Democratic party in Connecticut with absolutely no new ideas as to how to run the office. We have a logical choice in November as we have only one candidate who is willing to save taxpayers monies. Vote for Republican Jerry Farrell, Jr. for Secretary of State.

The Lost Senate Seat-Or Why Linda Will Win

Dick Blumenthal is lost. He in my economic opinion has lost the Senate race. He has no plan whatsoever. I am clueless as to where he stands on any issue other than he lied about his service to our country and has made a career being an anti business lawsuit in your face Attorney General. And he has help to make our state one of the most anti-business states in the country.
All the characteristics of what you want in a United States Senator-he actually would be a good follow for the equally economically illiterate and the on the take Chris Dodd, who still does not understand his sweetheart mortgage deal. What a debacle.
Linda McMahon will win this Senate seat. She actually has an economic plan that makes sense. This from her website:
“People create jobs, not governments.”

Washington got the stimulus dead wrong. In a matter of months, Washington spent trillions of dollars and ran it all through government bureaucracy. Instead of creating new private sector jobs, we got more job losses, bigger government and more debt — more than $13 trillion in federal debt that will cause long-term harm to the economy.

I believe government’s role in economic recovery must be to help create an environment where small businesses can succeed and grow. Small businesses have historically created 70% of new jobs — jobs that are self-sustaining and have a multiplier effect. Government jobs don’t do that. To grow, small businesses need a reduced tax burden and predictability so that they can plan and make investments. The economy is trying to recover, but Washington won’t let it. It is spending too much and creating tax and regulatory uncertainty that is paralyzing small businesses and stifling job creation.

It’s time for Washington to take an honest assessment, recognize these economic policies are failing and change course. We need to stop government growth and deficit spending. Smaller government will decrease the tax burden on small businesses and it will help reduce debilitating federal regulations that make it difficult to impossible for small businesses to plan for the future, expand and create jobs.

Martha Dean For Attorney General

What a breath of fresh air! Martha Dean for Attorney General. Actually when Martha gets elected we can actually see some form of normalcy and the end of the brutal anti business sentiment that has engulfed this office for so many years under the Blumenthal regime. And the amount of tax monies he has wasted pursuing his political agenda, all the while never working a productive day in his life.
No, I truly believe Martha Dean is a breath of fresh air to represent Connecticut as our next Attorney General. She will help eliminate the mere 36,000 current frivolous lawsuits that the Blumenthal regime has helped to create. How can you not consider this a waste of taxpayer's monies even if you are a Democrat? And for what purpose? To get yourself in front of a television camera as Blumenthal needed to do on a daily basis?
What happened to upholding the law as Attorney General? I know that Attorney Dean will do this as her philosophies and integrity will not be compromised.

What Is The Plan For Connecticut's Enormous Debt?

I am curious. What is the plan for Connecticut's enormous debt? The Democratic super majority is now pointing fingers apparently at Governor Rell. Why I can not understand from an economics point of view. Connecticut's budget has grown to a ridiculous level over the past twenty years-twenty years of Democratic House and Senate rule along with an economically illiterate liberal Governor Lowell "Income Tax" Weicker. Income Tax Weicker shoved the state income tax down taxpayers throats and we have seen spending increase to astronomical proportions. And we have now incredible short term and long term debt with no end in site.
I am curious as to why we are continuing to trust our economic future to the hands of the tax and spend Democrat party? What is their plan? More taxes and more spending, I can not read anything different.
We really need change if we are going to survive economically. This election the Republicans are offering excellent candidates in Mike Vitali for State Representative in Wallingford, Jerry Farrell, Jr. for Secretary of State, Jeff Wright for Treasurer, Jack Orchulli for Comptroller, Martha Dean for Attorney General and Tom Foley for Governor. We can not economically afford the illogical Democratic super majority rule any longer.

Connecticut's Never Ending Debt-The New Round

A few billion here. A few billion there. What is a few billion dollars if you are the super majority Democratically controlled Connecticut House and Senate. If you are a Democrat you need not worry about the states debt. It is never the Democrats problem it is the other persons problem. Like the minority Republicans or better yet the taxpayers who have to support the constant and persistent wasteful spending of these same super majority Democrats. Then after the election we hear that no programs can be cut thus we must raise taxes. And so it goes over and over again. Like a car with no brakes, there are no fiscal restraints for the super majority. And why should they cut spending and not raise taxes? Simply put, they do not know how.
The road they are leading Connecticut taxpayers down is economically unsustainable and is doing a good job to help ruin our state's economy. It is the road of economic turmoil. Again I ask why would you want to vote these same economically illiterate Democrats back into office come November? Vote them out.

Communism and Rosa DeLauro-Why Are We Not Voting For Jerry Labriola?

Communism is alive and well in Connecticut's Third Congressional District. Going unnoticed by the media and the public was the front page photo in the New Haven Register Thursday 8/12 of Connecticut's Third Congressional District Representative Rosa DeLauro and Communist Party Chairperson Joelle Fishman hugging each other at a party for Social Security's 75th Anniversary. Since when do Communists embrace Social Security? We can see Connecticut's Third Congressional District Representative true political bend. She has now brought her liberalism to a new peak by embracing publicly a Communist. And obviously she is very proud of it. For the Democratic Party is a party of out control. It is a party whose hatred of our country shines through each and every day by the progressive totalitarianism of the Obama Administration and the destruction of the American Economy. Now Connecticut's Third Congressional District Representative Rosa DeLauro has insulted all the Veterans in her district, all the freedom loving individuals in her district and all the taxpayers in her district by this hug.
And she is actually running for reelection. She along with her Democratic friends; Charlie Rangel, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Franks and Harry Reid need to go. The disrespect for our country is sickening. What has she done in all of these years of power? Nothing.
In November the voters of Connecticut's Third Congressional District have a clear choice. Vote for an American, Jerry Labriola for Congress. Please do not let the deaths of all of those who died for our country fighting against Communism be in vain.

Mike Vitali is running for State Representative trying to earn votes to represent Wallingford in the 85th District. He is running against the Queen of tax and spend State Representative Mary Mushinsky who has been in office way too long and has been totally ineffective in representing us for too many years. He is an articulate young man who would have the best interests of Wallingford at heart. He is a local graduate of our school system and has been active in our community. $6 Million Of Taxpayer's Monies Wasted

Connecticut Taxpayers do not have representation in Hartford. We have instead taxation without representation. We have a massive state deficit which now throws away an additional $6 million dollars of taxpayers monies on a liberal, wasteful, non productive Utopian political program which does not nothing to balance or make more competitive campaigns in our state. It is obvious if one is running for a national or high state office one needs to be wealthy. And then invest a great deal of that wealth in buying the position he or she wishes. It is comical. The Citizens' Election Program is a waste of time and money and does nothing for our state except to keep in power the economically illiterate Democratic super majority. We need this law to be repealed and for it top stop wasting our money. Connecticut is basically bankrupt. Democrats in Hartford need to understand this and that they are the cause of our economic debacle also.

Where Is Connecticut Headed?

Where is Connecticut headed? What path is being taken given the upcoming election? It seems like the Democrats here in our state are taking credit for a supposed robust economy in which spending has been cut to the bare bones, unfunded liabilities have all been accounted for and jobs are plentiful. In their Utopian state, excessive wasteful patronage spending does not exist, our young fight to stay in state and our tax rate is one of the lowest in the country. Their lies are comical. Just listen to their candidate for Secretary of State Denise Merrill and her irresponsible fiscal rhetoric about what her party has done in past years. Or listen to their ultra liberal tax and spend candidates for Governor who are now supposed fiscal conservatives-there is not a dimes worth of difference between Lamont and Malloy-both are equally unqualified to serve. How many Democratic Representatives and Senators are running away from their votes to increase spending and taxes year in and year out at the time of election? Connecticut is headed to further fiscal and economic turmoil and ineptness with continual votes for Democrats in office in Hartford. We can not afford economically the failed fiscal policies of the Democratic party in our state any longer.
We need private sector jobs, lower taxes, lower state spending, economic growth and real leadership.
In 2010 we need to vote Republican for real change in Hartford.

Why Excessive Bank Fees?

In my economic opinion banks are no longer user friendly. There are now making a large profit at the expense of taxpayers and consumers. Their fee structure is excessive considering banks do not offer any incentives to grow their customer’s savings and help them create wealth. Bank consumers need to be aware of this and not go blindly into their personal finances at 0.01% interest. This to me creates a disincentive to save. The value of your deposit is non existent due to this negative savings rate coupled with massive fees that banks charge you for your various accounts and transactions.
Now add to this a financial reform bill which further insults bank customers and will make it even more difficult to create new wealth in our economy.
The financial industry and this Administration has declared war on the investment and savings consumers and the net result will be a further decline in our economy due to the disincentives to save and invest. Thus what is the point of this policy? To help preserve old wealth, old banking mentality and old politicians who can control it with economically illogical laws, rules and fees? All of these areas harm the banking and investing consumer. Why?

A Financial Reform Bill That Does Not Reform Anything

I have to hand it to Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, they both know very little of our economic and financial systems. They know how to get paid for non productivity through taxpayer's monies for an eternity. They know how to manipulate campaign finance rules to get free money from the same companies they condemn and crucify (I guess shake them down for it). They know how to manipulate the press to their advantage although more and more citizens choose to ignore the mainstream media and their liberal bias. They know how to as in Chris Dodd's case get an illegal sweetheart mortgage that normal bank customers could not get. And they both know how to help screw up our free market financial system through a 2,300 page law that truly makes no economic sense in any way, shape or form.
As with everything in the Obama Presidency just throw something together like a failed economic stimulus, a failed nationalized health care plan and now a failed financial reform law, shove it down taxpayer's throats and then campaign to sell it the public. Just keep wasting time, taxpayer's monies and American economic freedom.
What a pathetic economic debacle we are witnessing compliments of the Obama Administration and a Democratic Congress.

0.01% Interest Rates

I have studied economic history for many years now. In our economic history there have been many credit crises. Each one has been marked by some sort of speculative economic issue that has taken place to help cause it, this past one by the subprime debacle.
Today 0.01% interest rates are currently being paid on many savings and checking accounts. And the banks are borrowing from the Fed at 0% interest and reinvesting that money in Fed/Governmental securities at 2-3% while they do not wish to lend money out nor pay more than .01% on savings/checking accounts. I have a severe issue with this especially when banks are not lending money out especially to small businesses. Why are they not lending money to the backbone of our economy?
The banks and Fed are in my economic opinion doing a great job in prolonging our recession along with an economically illiterate Congress and President. Consumers should be fleeing banks as fast as they can given this negative interest rate. They should be flocking to Credit Unions. And the supposed financial reform does nothing to reform our financial system, it is a half baked fantasy of Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, both who were equally responsible for the subprime crisis.

The Health Care Spin By Rosa DeLauro Or Why You Should Vote For Jerry Labriola

Rosa DeLauro must be running for reelection as can be seen by her recent propaganda piece on the recent socialized health care bill she helped to pass in Congress. This slick taxpayer paid for four color printed piece which was addressed to my daughter (we know she would not send it to anyone else in the house) shows how far out of touch with reality Democrats are with their socialized health care plan. The economic lies are far reaching in this piece. For example how this bill will actually reduce the deficit (which one-yearly or part of the $13 trillion dollar Obama national debt?) by $143 billion dollars in 10 years and then $1.2 trillion in the second ten years is beyond economic logic. How much does the bill actually spend and therefore how can it actually save this mythical money? No one knows because no one understands the economic implications of the ruining of the free market system that this bill embraces along with a socialized health care system that still does not address medical tort reform. How is it paid for? Tax the investments of rich families who earn $250,000 a year? Why? Why are they being penalized for their desire to get ahead in life and follow the free market economic system? Tax it and spend it, more of the same of the stale socialism of Rosa DeLauro and her fellow Democrats. This brochure is just a comical waste of taxpayers monies. Repeal this horrific law which will damage our economy beyond repair and force businesses to forget about expansion. This health care plan will make America sick.
It is a debacle of a bill. Thanks Rosa and by the way, if you are upset then you should vote for Jerry Labriola her opponent in November. Maybe change might then just work.

And The Spill Continues

The late Economist Milton Friedman stated in 1975; “I think that the government solution to a problem is usually as bad as the problem and very often makes the problem worse.” How true he is with regards to the BP oil spill. We can see through this that Mr. Obama loves golf and not to govern during a crisis or really at any other time either. His $20 billion new slush fund extracted from BP will do little to help the situation from an economics point of view. And what is the point of the fund? Are we any closer to capping the well? Have we saved any more marine life by the fund? Is he going to hire some political friends for this new department and or force BP to use union cleanup crews? Are we going to have a czar for it? Are we going to have more daytime hearings by Congress on it which do nothing and prove nothing other than waste more taxpayers monies? Has this administration developed a replacement for all of this oil that has been lost and not drilled so as not to create an economic downturn because of it? Or just the opposite?
Mr. Obama could have taken a leadership role and helped to rectify this crisis-he has chosen not to. It is just another debacle in the long line of debacles that this administration has shown their ineptness in leading our country. And their ineptness in trying to solve economic issues and problems. This November we will see some real change in Congress and even more in November 2012 when he is voted out of office. Cap the spill today. Oh yeah that is right you guys do not want to waste a crisis.

My Father and Me

My father passed away last week. Walter taught me many things. I developed a great love of numbers, finance and the world of business and economics from him. In the 1967 I started to read his copy of the Wall Street Journal (I am 9 years old at the time). I learned about a big world out there, I tried to figure out how to get there at my age but was not able to. I always remember going to the stock brokers office one summer day with him. He had $1000 that he wanted to buy one share of Berkshire Hathaway stock. The broker laughed at him and used all types of reasons why it was a bad investment. Thus my father taking the advise of this expert went to his Plan B and bought Xerox stock instead. My father took a quick profit in it over the next few months and we shared this story many times over the years. What if he had bought it? His life and wealth would have been dramatically different.
The world of finance and business still amazes me today. To make something successful out of a concept is a great accomplishment which is rewarded by profit. There is nothing wrong with profit going to the risk taker. Our economy is based upon it something that is lost in our political system.
I still read the Wall Street Journal daily. And I miss my father and thank him for his teaching this lesson and many others to me at a young age.

Mike Vitali For State Representative In Wallingford's 85th District

Can you imagine serving for 30 years and see the state becoming one of the highest taxed states in the country, have one of the highest debts and borrowing to finance this debt in the country, have one of the greatest exodus of young people leave the state in the country, have one of the worse anti business atmospheres in the country due to a egotistical Attorney General that you back and just see your bond rating drop due to your excessive state spending? Presiding over this social and economic debacle has been State Representative Mary Mushinsky. And why do Wallingford voters keep bringing her back to office? For several years it has been because the Republicans could not field a candidate.
As was the case in 2008 and now in 2010, a strong, viable and conservative candidate has emerged from the wreckage called representation. Mike Vitali will run against the Mushinsky and Democratic political machine this fall. He will be running as a David against the Goliath of tax and spend in Hartford. He will be running against a liberal who has helped to decay Connecticut through massive social welfare programs and irrational laws.
Mr. Vitali offers a refreshing change to the stale policies and theories of Representative Mushinsky. His thoughts on jobs, taxes and spending are unique. He actually feels that taxpayers do not have an infinite amount of money to spend on unlimited taxes to fuel wasteful state programs. He is concerned with the younger generation fleeing the state. He feels the state wastes a great deal of money.
I will be talking more about Mr. Vitali in the coming months. He is a breath of fresh air for the taxpayers of Wallingford and he deserves your vote in November.

The Blame Of The Oil Spill

Politicians in my economic opinion love a good crisis. They can work the media to their advantage looking and feeling important. They try to show who is in charge and why they are so good at what they do. A crisis can stroke a politician's ego to the point of no return.
Thus as of today, I feel we are at a point of no return economically with the massive oil spill in Louisiana which still has been capped nor looks like it will be capped any time soon. However, we have a great deal of the political blame game carrying on with the media enjoying each minute of this crisis. I personally feel sorry for those businesses who will probably go under from this, all the new unemployed of the region and the massive losses of wildlife that has taken place. It is a tragedy of enormous proportions.
Yet I see no leadership from the President. He seems confused that a crisis of this magnitude needs to be addressed. He seems confused that the American public does not like the way he governs (if one can actually can call it governing). His embracing of government solving all of the problems of our country and the world for that matter seems to be imploding. And the oil keeps flowing with no end in sight. The American public can embrace that the end of governing by this President will mercifully end in 2012. Or did it ever begin?

How Is The Blumenthal Flap Over?

Just because he sent an email apology. What a coward, he could not even do it front of his cronies or for that matter even real Vietnam veterans who actually fought in Vietnam. Dick Blumenthal did everything he could to avoid service and time in Vietnam. And he has the audacity to ask these same veterans and families of those who lost their loved ones fighting in Vietnam to vote for him. Why? Why does Dick Blumenthal feel privileged now? After his lies about his service. About his disrespect for the Uniform of the United States Marines. It is absurd that he should even be running with his now soiled and tarnished image. His image of making Connecticut an anti business state with its egotistical and self serving Attorney General.
And his campaign just feels that it is behind them now and they can really attack Linda McMahon. Why? Because in my opinion the flap is not over, nor will it be over until after the election when Dick Blumenthal loses his campaign and Connecticut voters actually speak out against this liar.

Now come the twists. The chosen one has fallen. The all powerful Connecticut Attorney General who has smashed and destroyed many over the years may have been beaten at his own game. A lie. Misspoken.
This is what Connecticut really needs another liar for a Senator. Dodd still has not come clean with regards to his sweetheart mortgage deals and the money that he has taken in donations over the years from the financial industry. Now the Blumenthal debacle. What horrific candidates the Connecticut Democrats put up for office. Just what Connecticut taxpayers need another lying Senator. Wait, I guess we have now a lying Attorney General. All at the taxpayers expense.

Taxpayers Can You Spare Me $148 Billion?

Taxpayers can you spare me $148 billion. I am Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This is is the amount I have cost you so far in the bailouts of us. I am bankrupt but you as a taxpayer must continue to prop me up. I have to continue to back loans which I know will never be paid back. All in the good faith of the Democratic party which made people buy homes who could never afford them and keep them there without having to pay their mortgages. In an effort to buy votes. I ask again taxpayers can you spare me $148 billion?
After all $148 billion in a $12 trillion dollar national debt is meaningless. We are a bankrupt country. Economics is meaningless to the Obama Administration and Democratic Congress. The continual taxpayer bailout of these failed mortgages and loans needs to end today. These mortgages will not become better by throwing money at them. It is an economic disgrace to taxpayers for it to continue. Rather than blaming the banking industry, the blame for this economic debacle may be found by the Obama Administration and the Democratic Congress.

All 5 Democratic Congressional Seats Are Not Safe

That is right. All five Connecticut Congressional seats are not safe. If anything the Democrats who supposedly represent Connecticut have to be fearful of the massive backlash that is currently being felt in the state. Unknown to the biased media, Connecticut taxpayers at all levels are disgusted with the lack of leadership and governing that the Democrats claim to offer. U.S. Reps. John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes and Chris Murphy are all political hacks with a desire to help bankrupt our country through a socialized economy, socialized health care, socialized cap and trade and a runaway, massive national debt. Unlimited spending and the bankruptcy of our economic future with nothing to show for it. You as a voter and a taxpayer really want to reelect these people?
That is right. All five Connecticut Congressional seats are not safe. Let us vote these economically inept representatives out of office in November. What a breath of fresh air that would be.

What Are 290,000 Jobs to 20 Million People Unemployed?

How many people are really unemployed in our economy? And what is really being done to create private sector jobs in our economy? A published 9.9% unemployment rate is more like a 17% unemployment rate when taking into account those who have given up looking for work and are off unemployment roles, still out of work. The supposed great news twisted by our biased media of 290,000 new jobs coupled with an increase of the established unemployment rate to 9.9% is ridiculous. It follows no fundamental economic logic whatsoever. It is horrendous employment news in my economic opinion. We still have massive unemployment and this administration has now had 17 months to try to do something other than forcing socialistic economic policies down our economy's throat which have further eroded our job market. 290,000 jobs are meaningless to the millions who are unemployed today. This band aid is useless to the overall job market. Let the free market system create new jobs through lower taxes, less governmental regulations and a balanced governmental budget with a forceful plan to eliminate the national debt. Try telling that to those who are unemployed. By the way who got those 290,000 jobs? Democratic story tellers?

Stop Taking Campaign Donations

If capitalism is that bad, why do political candidates take campaign contributions from companies and corporations in our economy? Is capitalism is that evil why do political candidates sell themselves to the highest bidder? If money and wealth is that bad for our economy, why does the political system embrace taking it to help them buy their election? Chris Dodd is an excellent example of this theory. And the list is endless on both sides of the political spectrum. This debacle of selling their votes and office have help to erode our economy in my economic opinion and it needs to stop. Democracy does not function when being sold to the highest bidder and for those who can afford to buy their elected officials. Congress, a fantasy land of wealth, nobility and unlimited perks needs to reform itself with regards to its payoffs.
Or we need a new form of Democracy minus the self serving, stale, corrupted elected officials found at the Federal and state levels.
Stop taking cash. Stop this way of government.

When Illegal Means Democrat Votes

Such a fuss over the new Arizona Immigration Law. In my economic opinion this new law will help their economy and law enforcement agencies. I am confused by liberals and Democrats who do not understand that an illegal immigrant is here illegally and it is against the law for them to be here. These same laws that should be enforced and are not are paid for by taxpayers like you and me. We do not see positive economic results when you have people breaking the law like these illegal immigrants. Why is it difficult to understand that illegal immigrants are here in our country illegally and need to be sent back to their countries? My grandparents legally immigrated to the United States, become United States citizens and worked all of their lives without any type of governmental aid. They helped to make our country. Illegal immigrants do not help in this manner, they are a huge drain to our states economies.
But I know that the Democrat party can not wait to make all of those illegal immigrants legal so they get them registered and working/voting for their party. Thus illegal in this case is a means to the end, another Democratic vote for more damage to our economy.

Does Financial Reform Mean Continuous Bailouts?

No, I am skeptical about a financial reform bill that still inhibits the free market and credit systems. I am skeptical since it still allows for massive bailouts of private financial systems by allowing the FDIC to continue to borrow taxpayers monies to help finance these same companies financial woes. Banks still being viewed as bad guys by this administration yet both parties still reap their rewards of campaign donations that these same banks give to them. Just look at the millions of dollars and favors that Chris Dodd has received from this sector. Thus financial reform in Dodd's eyes still means constant bailouts using taxpayers funds. A dependent financial system with no end in sight. This bill is an useless waste of time for all. Just as this Congress is an useless waste of taxpayers monies, bailout or no. Financial reform does mean constant bailouts-forever.

The Democrats Dilemma Of Money

What are the Democrats going to do with their big, bad campaign donations from Goldman Sachs and other big, bad financial institutions they shake money down from? And why do these same companies feel compelled to give this money? Locally politicians like Dick Blumenthal now takes campaign contributions from PACs in this Senatorial campaign-desperate for cash to buy his way into the Senate, apparently trying to emulate Chris Dodd who never met cash he would turn down. Maybe taxpayers of Connecticut can remember that in his legacy. Thus money flows freely to the Democrats in one hand and in the other hand we hear the constant condemnation of the free market, capitalistic system. It is ironic to taxpayers that we are forced to accept this situation as part of the corruptness of campaign contribution shakedowns.
Voters will change this come November. The Democrats dilemma of money.

Chris Dodd and His Never Ending Bailout of Himself

Chris Dodd has a huge never ending and never satisfying ego. As a Connecticut taxpayer he has also done nothing for me economically nor does he really understand our economy as shown by his latest debacle of a financial reform bill. Bailouts or shakedowns of companies going under apparently will be financed by taxes on these companies who will be called in to merge with the financially insolvent company. Those who use these companies will naturally have to pay these taxes meaning you and I the consumer. The new type of bailouts to me will be viewed in political rather than economic terms. Again the bill is massive in length, no one has been able to read through it and it does nothing other than add a new level of regulation with no other purpose than to add more socialism to our economy. Thus what is the point of the new Dodd bill? Economically I do not understand Dodd's logic nor do I understand why he is still representing Connecticut?
Dodd's never ending bailout of himself, the companies that have donated to his campaigns and his unethical behavior mercifully comes to a halt in a few months. This bill represents just another waste of taxpayer's monies by Chris Dodd.

The Two Presidents of Southern Connecticut State University At Connecticut Taxpayer's Expense

Now let me try to figure this waste of Connecticut taxpayer's monies. Southern Connecticut State University had a capable President in Cheryl Norton. She apparently was not wanted by Connecticut State University System Chancellor David G. Carter, who apparently can hire and fire at will with no checks or balances in the state's University system. He hires Stanley Battle, former president of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, as the new interim president of Southern. Apparently Battle and Carter were colleagues at Eastern Connecticut State University when Carter was Eastern's president in the 1990s, hey so what's wrong with a little cronyism in education at taxpayer's expense? Thus taxpayers will be footing a the bill for two Southern Presidents and we are not allowed to know why Norton was dismissed in the first place. Norton still gets paid for one year at $280,000 plus while Battle gets paid for the same position at $280,000 plus. What a waste of taxpayer's monies in the time of an economic crisis.
And by the way as a graduate of Southern, do not ever bother asking me a for a donation to the school again. If you can afford two presidents, then you have more than enough money to operate your school.

The Opposition Starts-The Mushinsky Survey

I enjoy state elections. I am always optimistic of change, when Democrats at a state and national level are voted out of office and responsible governing might actually take place in both Hartford and Washington. It is the time of year when "concerned" State Representatives like Wallingford's Mary Mushinsky send out their surveys to try to show they somehow care about what taxpayers actually think. Her survey which I received in the mail yesterday is comical in nature. She has many teaser questions-what are our concerns and what do we fear? Why should we fear anything if we actually had leadership and effective government in Hartford and Washington? And since Mushinsky has been in office for so many years overseeing this economic debacle has developed with her Democratic Super Majority in Hartford, I would venture to guess that most taxpayers in her district fear two more years of Democrat rule in Hartford coupled with still yet higher taxes and higher spending. Her party's budget offers yet $353+ million in higher spending while the state is
$500+million in a deficit and has the audacity to ask if we as taxpayers favor or do not favor yet even higher taxes in the state. There is no economic reasoning whatsoever by Mushinsky and her fellow Democrats. They are the reason why Connecticut is #1 in taxes, virtually last in new job development and economic growth. The Democrats should actually take responsibility for their lack of leadership in Hartford.
The opposition has started, surveys like hers do nothing for overburdened taxpayers in her District. She will ignore them as she has done in the past and continue to vote for higher spending and higher taxes. We can no longer afford in Connecticut a Democratic Super Majority. The time is now for change.

Still No Word On Health Costs And New Taxes

The super secret 2000+ page socialist health care bill is still really not being discussed in depth by the administration. The administrations fears are well founded once citizens and small business owners start seeing the higher costs for more limited health care and new taxes which this socialized health care bill brings to them. Taxpayers will be even more up in arms over the now runaway national debt which soon will be unable to be financed through treasury sales. No prudent investor will want to buy it any more.
All for the sake of limited and rationed care. All for the beauty of an elitist President who has no sense of economic reality in his dream socialist state he is trying to create for our country. All for the lies he told throughout the campaign about cooperation and lack of transparency.
And I still have no word on health care costs and new taxes by the administration.

Bysiewicz-Blumenthal-What Is A Title Anyways?

I could have saved a great deal of money in lawyer's fees if I had known that Susan Bysiewicz represented me for all the years she has been a Secretary of State. For the closings, and all the other areas of legal issues that I had I forgot just to give her a call. She was actually representing me and as such I did not need to pay all of those fees for the past 11 years, she could have handled it all (and I am sure at no charge also). Stupid me.
The Connecticut Democratic party has shown even more so how out of touch it is in governing with this ridiculous waste of taxpayers monies now for Bysiewicz and her political goals. It is bad enough they have a horrendous and inept Senatorial candidate in Richard Blumenthal and his liberal/anti business views coupled now with a non lawyer wanting the highest legal job in the state. What a farce of government.
A Republican tide is brewing in our liberal, anti-business, highly taxed state. Maybe sanity can be restored come November.

Connecticut Youth-Going, Going, Gone

It is almost graduation time. My daughter will be graduating along with many of her peers in May from the University of Connecticut. UConn is supposedly less expensive than private schools but more expensive than other state schools. To date myself I spent less than $500 a semester with books to attend a state college back in the late 70's. Luckily my daughter got a CA position and was spared the costs of room for her last two years of college. Financial aid is really not seen for Connecticut residents attending state schools. Thus the cost of education is rationed by value and its costs. Still a 4 year state school education cost over $75,000+ just for tuition and room and board. Not counting expensive books, computers and personal expenses.
However many students who were born in this state will leave for graduate school out of state. This is due to several reasons including not being accepted by state colleges (as in my daughter's case and many of her friends)and for better opportunities out of our state. Thus the brain drain of the best and brightest will continue. Connecticut does little to retain its youth. An expensive bureaucracy of a higher education system, poor leadership, excessive taxes, high real estate costs and few jobs will continue to drive generation upon generation of our youth out of Connecticut. The losses are staggering. And the silence deafening by our supposed leaders in retaining our youth.

Unemployment Rages On

Yes unemployment rages on. There is no end in sight. There is no economic plan, no economic rationalization, no free market incentives, nothing. Washington is lost in its own self actualization, self glorification, self awareness of how great they are. However they have absolutely no economic plan to deal with unemployment.
16 months into this Administration of wonder and economic illiiteracy, we still have massive levels of unemployment, massive tax increases on the horizon and little if any positive economic news. All due to the fact of a poor, non existent economic plan that this Administration has chosen to follow.
Unemployment continues to rage, two years of unemployment benefits is ridiculous and not needed. Free market incentives are essential to get our economy back on its feet. You think that in 16 months it could have been done-tell that to those who are unemployed.
Remember this when you vote in November.

Economic Stagnation Caused By Socialized Health Care

There will be great economic stagnation created by the socialized health care bill rammed down taxpayers throats last week. Economic stagnation occurs when there are high levels of unemployment/underemployment and inflation. Inflation for our economy is right around the corner as health care insurance premiums and health care costs will skyrocket under the unconstitutional, socialized health care plan being forced on our economy. Insurance companies will send rates upward while the bill will be enacted and costs for procedures and visits (which are unknown to the medical consumer) will also go up before implementation. Thus our economy will now have a massive amount of their take home incomes go to rationed health care giving medical consumers much higher costs with less services. From an economics point of view how does this help our economy? And why was it allowed to happen? There will great economic stagnation created by the socialized health care bill, which will take many years for our economy to recover from. What a waste of economic good for our economy at the time of an economic recession. And the most insulting part of it is that politicians must now campaign to those who they supposidly represent to tell them how great this debacle is. What an injustice to our economy and country.

The New Economic Costs of Socialized Health Care

I still feel that socialized health care will be repealed when Republicans take control of Congress in 2011. Until that time we must realistically look at the new economic costs which are now being viewed because of the socialized, unconstitutional health care bill rammed through by Congress. ATT will be charging back $1 billion dollars to cover the new changes in medical care. It is $1 billion dollars that it can no longer spend on product development, expansion of services, hiring more employees, lowering consumer bills or paying raises to employees. It is $1 billion dollars taken out of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is no longer productive money which could create economic growth. It is now going to a non productive socialized social welfare program which will not have any positive results for it in our economy. Another economic example is Caterpillar which will have now $100 million in new expenses because of this bill. Again Caterpillar does not have $100 million dollars that it can no longer spend on product development, expansion of services, hiring more employees, lowering consumer bills or paying raises to employees. Multiply this same situation by companies throughout our country and you will see the following; a greater economic recession, a higher national debt which can no longer be financed, more unemployment, higher prices for consumer products, higher health care costs and lastly higher taxes.
All at a time during economic recession. Economic reality will settle in for the Democrats at all levels of government. This horrific economic bill will guarantee their minority status for years to come. I just hope our economy can survive this economic debacle until November.

The Speaker Of The House Wants Your Money When You Die

Chris Donovan wants your money. Better yet he demands it when you die. After all dead people who have paid taxes all of their lives and were taxed on it all of their lives, need to pay more when they die. They need when they are dead to help support the Speakers social welfare programs which are economically inefficient and help waste taxpayers monies year in and year out. Dead people through his 3.5% tax on their estates need to pay more when they die. By taxing dead people the Democrats feel that more economic growth will take place in our already overtaxed state. From what school of economics this comes from is beyond me. It will just lead even more wealthy people out of the state and to states which are tax friendly.
Our state government needs a desperate change. It is obvious to me Mr. Donovan has never worked a productive day in his life and lives in an economic fantasy land. We as taxpayers must support his lack of leadership and his failed programs.
November 2010 is coming and his super majority will come to a grinding halt.

Connecticut Democrats To Connecticut Taxpayers- Drop Dead If You Think We Will Cut Spending

I really have to hand it to the Connecticut Democratic super majority and their budget plan. Let's increase spending by $353 million dollars and raise taxes. Yawn. So what else is new? More, higher, greater spending coupled with the same stale government excesses and you have the Connecticut Democratic super majority. How can the Democrats be serious to raise spending by another $353 million dollars while they still have not solved the $1 billion dollar deficit that we are in? How economically illiterate can they be? This is the most ridiculous state budget I have seen in my life. Do they understand what unemployment is and what an economic recession is?
I truly hope that the voters of Connecticut finally wake and vote these elitists out of office in November. No matter at what level of government, the Democratic party is out of touch with any type of economic reality and they have no ability to lead or govern. This budget is just another shining example of it.

Airport Repairs=Health Care Reform

Yes in 2010 airport repairs equals health care reform. Especially if you are an anti-abortion Representative Congressmen from Michigan. Earmarks in a health care bill that have nothing to do with health care. What a sell out. In other words change that you can believe in. I vaguely remember that earmarks were going to be eliminated in this administration of transparency. Just another lie to the American taxpayer. Just like the lies of the socialized health care bill signed by Mr. Obama. In other words change that you can believe in. A bill so bad that now it has to be campaigned on to brainwash the American taxpayer to accept it and love it. In other words change that you can believe in. To pass a bill so bad, so disheveled, so irrational, so debt ridden that you now have to sell it. Like a used car salesman.
There is absolutely no leadership found in Washington. None from Mr. Obama and none from Congress. A lost four years. Vote this debacle out of office in November and do not support economically those who embrace it. In other words change that you can really believe in.
